An exceptional experience by all standards at the award-winning Dar Yahya in M'Hamid El Ghizlane! 🏡 The stay was wonderful and excellent beyond measure, and I truly felt right at home thanks to the authentic and warm atmosphere of the house, which reflects the heritage of the place and gives you a magical feeling with its distinctive design and wonderful wooden decorations. A special thanks goes to the owner, Yahya; he is an extremely kind, cooperative, and responsive person, with a smile that never leaves him, a wonderful sense of humor, and great care for his guests' comfort. He overwhelmed us with his valuable services and guidance about the area, and accompanied us on a magical tour in the heart of the desert 🐪 that introduced us closely to the Bedouin lifestyle and authentic Moroccan traditions, where we also shared outstanding local meals 🍲 that added a special flavor to the trip. Seeing the wonderful desert attire worn by the locals there also had a special impact that added to the magic and authenticity of the trip. For anyone looking to break the routine, step into a totally new world, and feel the magic of the Moroccan desert, this is the absolute right place.. and the place becomes even sweeter and more beautiful in Yahya's company. There was only a see thru curtain from the bathroom to the room.

Super hotel, Yaya est très sympathique et arrangeant. Nous sommes super proche de l’accès pour le désert et du centre ville (gare CTM, commerces...). Le petit déjeuner est délicieux et copieux. Je vous conseille vivement cet hébergement

Bardzo klimatyczne miejsce tuż przy pustyni ;) Miło spędziliśmy czas i zjedliśmy pyszną kolację. Bardzo sympatyczny i pomocny właściciel Yaya - dodatkowo organizuje wycieczki na pustynie Erg Chigaga, które polecam z całego serca - spędziliśmy na pustyni 1 noc+ 1 dzień - świetny obóz i klimat, a trwający 1,5h camel ride na wschód słońca to cudowne przeżycie :)

Sehr nette Gastgeber, Zimmer sind komfortabel und sauber. Netter Innenhof. Das angebotene Frühstück und Abendessen ist sehr gut und reichlich. Man ist zu Fuß schnell in der Ortsmitte und auch in der Wüste. Man kann hier direkt auch Exkursionen in die Sahara buchen, nur zu empfehlen, sehr schöne Tour!

Yaya est attentionné, soucieux de partager sa connaissance du désert. Il est très ouvert. Le logement est typique mais confortable. Repas local, pleins de saveurs, varié et abondant.

It was cheap.

Dinner is a straight out scam for 120 Mad. Rest was okay. Tajine was not cooked freshly and a tiny piece of chicken with some bland potatoes and a bread. Breakfast was average at its best. I would recommend checking elsewhere for a bit higher price. So for 15 euros the stay is good, but for 120 mad the dinner needs serious improvement, this felt like a total scam.

It’s a beautiful traditional house decorated either lots of care and attention, here I felt like home. It’s in a quiet part of town right on the edge of the desert, with beautiful sunsets from the rooftop. Yahya and Mohamed make sure that you feel welcomed and comfortable during the stay. The room was clean and cozy, just what the traveler needs.

On a mangé et dormi chez yaya , la guest house est très belle et les lits super confortables ... Le repas était bon . Départ le matin pour exursion dans le désert avec youssef ( super chauffeur de 4 / 4 qui vous racontera la vie des berbères) ...arrivée au camp avec tout le folklore = les dromadaires/ le feu de bois ac les champs et les danses...on dort dans des petites maisons en dur ... On était avec 2 ados ils ont adoré !

Nous avons beaucoup aimé la chambre et la propreté de la chambre. Nous noterons tout de même un petit problème d’écoulement de l’eau de la douche.

Nous avons trouvé un petit déjeuner un peu léger.

Dar Yaya est une très belle maison située au bout de la route principale de Mhamid. Tout est magnifique, les chambres sont très confortables et très joliment décorées. La maison est remplie de belles énergies et Yaya est un hôte absolument merveilleux. Il est très attentionné et propose également plusieurs et différentes excursions dans le désert selon la façon dont vous voulez le découvrir. Authentique, sauvage et entre nomades, et/ou avec un petit groupe pour des des parcours un peu plus long. C’est une chance exceptionnelle de pouvoir vivres ces moments hors du temps, dans des endroits absolument magnifiques, entourée des bonnes personnes en vivant des expériences INOUBLIABLES et tout simplement magiques. Venez faire un tour ici et vous ne voudriez plus jamais partir, c’est sûr et certain❤️

Super expérience à M’hamid, nous sommes parties pour deux nuits dans le désert avec Hassan, le frère de Yaya, très sympa ! On a bien rigolé et pu profiter d’une balade en dromadaire et du coucher de soleil sur les dunes, magnifique ! Nous n’avons manqué de rien, la nourriture était bonne ! Un grand merci !

Ich war allein unterwegs und habe mich im Dar Yaya sofort willkommen gefühlt. Yaya ist ein unglaublich herzlicher Gastgeber, der alles organisiert und sich um jedes Detail kümmert. Das Gästehaus ist sauber, gemütlich und hat eine tolle Dachterrasse. Das Frühstück und Abendessen waren köstlich, und die von Yaya organisierte Wüstentour war ein absolutes Highlight – perfekt geplant und sicher. Ich habe mich zu jeder Zeit gut aufgehoben gefühlt und kann Dar Yaya allen nur wärmstens empfehlen!

I liked everything. People are very nice and I get many amazing cups of tea :) I was a little worried about location but is very good - maybe 12min from ctm bus stop. I arrived late thats why I wasn't sure if I'm not gonna be afraid to walk here but it was easy and safe walk. Thank you very much for having me!!

I loved my stay in Dar Yaya. Everything was clean, cozy, and the matress so comfortable, the owners are very friendly and helpful as well. Location is perfect, a stone’s throw from the desert. I’ll come back in my next trip to Morocco.

The space and amenities were minimalist but met all of my needs and made me feel at home. WiFi, an open kitchen if I wanted to make food for myself, etc. It was a welcome summer relief to arrive at an air-conditioned room after traveling 10 hours from Marrakech. Yaya is an excellent host. Yaya’s brother served as an excellent guide for a Sahara desert excursion and prepared the best chicken tajine I had in my three weeks in Morocco. This is a great place that is only made better by its affordability and flexibility.

The water temperature for the shower would sometimes move between hot and cold.

We had an unforgettable stay at Dar Yaya in Mhamid El Ghizlan. The house is traditional but the quality of the rooms is amazing – we slept so deeply and comfortably. Yaya is also a fantastic cook; the food was delicious and full of local flavors. But the highlight of our stay was the Sahara trip he organized for us – truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. There is no place more relaxing and homy to me than Dar Yayas :) The rooms and courtyard are wonderful, tea, Tajine, breakfast are perfect. I'm repeating myself, I wrote another review for a different stay here, but I simply like to come back to Dar Yaya!

We were welcomed so warmly, with tea and snacks, were able to just arrive and relax. I really, really recommend coming here. I love everything about staying at Yaya's Guesthouse. The rooms, the courtyard, the living area and kitchen, all the wonderful carpets and decorations - just the general feeling one gets, of being at home. Yaya and his family and friends are the most wonderful hosts, I always choose to come back and then regret not having spent more time there. Also: there is no better breakfast in Morocco, because Yaya's omelette has not yet found its match and the bread from M'Hamids bakery is perfection. Just come and see for yourself!

Polite, helpful and friendly host. The place is amazing, rooted in Berber culture. I was traveling alone. While I was hiking through the desert for four days, they stored my belongings that I didn't need on the trail. Thanks!

Yaya is an incredible host. He was very welcoming and always has the kettle on for tea. He went above and beyond for us. He accommodated our change of booking arrangement. He provided great advice and information. He even got up at 5.30am, prepared breakfast and dropped us to the bus station whenwewereleaving. The Riad is so chilled out. We had freedom to come and go and the use of the kitchen, living room and terrace. The riad is decorated beautifully inside and on the terrace. It is very clean and comfortable and situated in a really quiet village which is literally at the gates of the desert. The WiFi is excellent. Yaya is very flexible with everything and a very hospitable, welcoming and overall good man. He is also very helpful in arranging trips to the desert by 4x4 and touring. We would love to return in the future.

In town for facilities . Good for a real experience of local life and going into sahara too. Cozy accommodation with garden area and indoors area too Can use kitchen. Friendly staff. Town is mostly quiet great value with free lift from coach

M'hamid town lacks a proper shop to buy supplies . Cost of eating in restaurants is higher than other places. Dogs roaming about in early morning streets up to 8 in a pack . Maybe too warm for me and very dry atmosphere

Quiet, good food and the owner is good company. Rooms are basic but value for the price. Yahya organises trips and experiences, they are fairly prices and no surprise shopping stops. My guide went out of his way to ensure I enjoyed my day in the Sahara

When we arrived we were sick, but Yaya really took care of us. He went to the pharmacie, made food, got us water, … Finally we stayed one week and we felt at home. It was nice that we could use the kitchen (I was craving some good porridge in the morning haha). I would really recommend this place✨

We had a very warm welcome to Yahya’s place. Nice atmosphere, authentic Moroccan house. Rooms, breakfast, showers (nice temperature) were all good! Also, we did a desert 2day/1night tour with Yahya as a guide. He knows a lot about the desert and brings you to nice places! The sleeping accommodation in the desert was idyllic and comfortable. Would recommend!

Had an absolutely beautiful stay here under the stars, yaya was very hospitable and kind from appearing with couscous the day I arrived to always sharing fruit and tea. The space was really lovely and the room was super clean and very comfortable also. Would stay here again and again

Great value for money! Clean room with aircon and bathroom with separate toilet and shower which was a very nice. The tour to erg chegaga is also very cool; moroccos highest dunes and a night under the stars if you come during the warmer times.

I have recently stayed at Dar Yaya in Mhamid El Ghizlane. The house was cozy, clean, and comfortable, and had everything I needed for a great stay. Yaya was a fantastic host, and he arranged a 4x4 tour to the desert for us. The tour was amazing and allowed me to experience the beauty of the desert in a unique way. I also did some camel riding, and it was a memorable experience. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Yaya house and go in a tour to the desert with Yaya because he knows a lot about the desert and the life of the nomads

Very kind host. He helped organize the trip to erg chegaga, where there are hundreds if not thousands of sand dunes Very beautiful dunes and the way to it was amazing as well. The host is super friendly and hospitable. We booked very spontaneously and fortunately it was no problem. We were welcomed with tea after a long ride. I’ve never slept so well on my tour through Morocco than in these beds. Breakfast was also very tasty. The host planned a tour for us to the desert erg chigaga and we were with his brother and cousin. They come from a nomadic family. The experience was indescribable. We are very grateful for this experience and that we were able to sleep in their cottage and ride their camels. Thank you so much for everything! Your are so kind people!

Base for great desert experience in Erg Chigaga. The facility is unassuming but very user friendly and has all the amenities for a relaxing stay. But the real purpose of any visit here must be the trip, with at least one overnight recommended, to Erg Chigaga desert. The owner & guide Yaya (Yahya) is super friendly, a great host and an extremely competent & caring guide. The desert camp has all the facilities including showers, a huge feat to organize in the desert where water has to be brought from outside by truck. Camel safari, with a gentle & caring young but professional guide is an absolute must and an excellent value for money. All in all: most recommended and not to be missed.

We were lucky enough to be on our own with Yaya and his crew on our trip to the desert. It was a last minute decision and one we will treasure! From the birdlife and oasis frogs on the ride to the dunes, delicious food throughout, specially procured camels, to the fire under the stars...we were looked after all the way, even sharing the journey home with some Nomad friends of his... yahya is a great host, very accommodating and friendly, I was travelling by bike and he agreed to give me a lift into the desert early morning to get over the sandiest part of the route which would’ve taken ages to hike, it was nice of him to be so flexible to adjust his usual tour offering to my preferences. the accommodation is excellent, very comfy bed and hot shower and nice chilled courtyard to relax in

the tours are relatively expensive for Morocco but there are fantastic and obviously tourism has been tough for businesses during covid years

We would like to thank Yaya for his hospitality , we booked one night in his beautiful Guest house , then he organized for us a nice trip to Erg chigaga where we lived a wonderful night among sand dunes and we enjoyed the sunset with camel tour to top of erg chigaga so I really would like to recommend everyone to enjoying this experience and thank you again Yaya

It was a good place to stay in Mhamid even for a few nights. The room was pretty spacious and had a shower, and a toilet. On one night it didn't have a strong water pressure but I figured it was because of the water in the desert - there is not much of it. The sheets and pillows were clean. I had ordered breakfast and had forgotten to mention that I didn't eat dairy. The owner prepared some eggs for me, it was lovely. The stars at night were amazing since the Rad is located a bit far from the town's light pollution.

On the first day, some kids were harassing me and following me to town asking for candies. It was the only moment I was annoyed, cause they tried to touch me and my pockets. It's not the property's fault though, but the tourists that must have offered candies in the first place.

Yaya was the best host. He collected me from the bus and looked after me and all of the other lovely guests for our whole stay. Dar Yaya has a really friendly vibe. Everyone is respectful and smiley. The breakfast eggs are amazing!

I can't think of anything I didn't like at Dar Yaya. Except that I couldn't stay longer.

We were picked up from the bus station by Ya Ya and immediately felt at ease. He has a laid back and accomodating vibe. When we tried to extend our stay and no rooms were available he allowed us to sleep in the living room for a few nights. The house has a beautiful courtyard where we spent many go slow mornings playing music and drinking tea. He helped us organise an Er Chigaga adventure that fitted into our timing. While we were here we went to the Taragalte Festival, he came in with us, enjoyed the music and helped us get home. Would recommend coming to Dar Ya Ya and spending time here, the desert is a beautiful place and Ya Ya was super helpful.
