Everything was so good.. The people of the family are very helpful and sweet. The beach and railway station is just walkable.. So nice location and the property is newly constructed.

Aww, this place is one-of-a-kind! From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed and taken care of. I ended up extending my stay not once, but twice, which probably says it all 😊 The hosts are absolutely wonderful: incredibly friendly, attentive to every little detail, and always there when you need something, yet never intrusive. You can really feel that they care about their guests and want you to have the best possible experience. And Bentota itself? Easily one of my favorite places in all of Sri Lanka! It's on the very top of my list with the best places in Sri Lanka - and it occupies the first 3 positions 😄 If I ever make it to Sri Lanka again, I'll definitely stay in Bentota 🥰

Definitely recommend this guest house when staying in Bentota. I stayed for 2 nights but wish I had longer there. The location is great, 5min walk to the beach and some restaurants nearby. The room is very spacious and clean with a nice balcony you can relax on. Most importantly it is the family that are so lovely - they are very friendly welcoming people and made my stay really great. They organised a river safari for me and were always ready to help if I needed. If I am back in bentota I would stay here!

Das schönste familiengeführte Homestay auf unsere gesamten Reise. Sehr aufmerksame Familie, sprechen sehr gutes Englisch, der Besitzer sogar perfekt Deutsch. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Bekamen bei Ankunft sogar Tee. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker!

Die Familie ist super nett und hilfsbereit. Das Frühstück war lecker. Die Lage ist auch super - schön ruhig und nur ein paar Minuten vom Strand entfernt.

Останавливались в Welcome Family Guest House с 1 по 6 марта. Отличный уютный гостевой дом, всего несколько комнат. Нам с подругой понравилось здесь абсолютно всё! Прекрасное расположение в пяти минутах от потрясающего пляжа и от хороших кафе. В номере было очень чисто, завтраки чудесные. Хозяева очень гостеприимные, милые и радушные люди, готовые помочь с любым вопросом! Проживание здесь было настолько комфортным, что хочется обязательно вернуться!

Bardzo mili i pomocni ludzie. Ale naprawdę. Podpowiedzieli w kwestii transportu, gdy przyjechaliśmy to poczęstowali pyszną kawą, bo pokój nie był jeszcze gotowy (ale jeszcze nie musiał być, byliśmy przed godziną meldowania). Bardzo pyszne śniadanie. Lokalizacja także znakomita - blisko do plaży i na stację kolejową. Obok znajduje się przyzwoita knajpka, gdzie można dobrze zjeść i wypić piwko.

If you are visiting Bentota, Welcome Family Guest House is highly recommended. It’s tucked away but in a perfect location—very close to the beach and just a short trip to Turtle Point and the River Boat Safari starting points. Highlights of my stay: The Atmosphere: Clean, comfortable rooms that felt like a home away from home. The Food: Absolutely delicious! Every meal was a highlight. The Host: Incredibly kind and more than happy to accommodate our ad-hoc requests. It’s the ideal place for anyone who wants a personal touch and easy access to Bentota’s best spots. I will definitely be visiting again! :)

I had a lovely stay at Welcome Family Guest House. The family is incredibly kind and welcoming, and they were already waiting for me when I arrived, which made me feel immediately at home. Throughout my stay I felt that they cared about their guests and wanted to make sure everything was good for me. They shared many helpful tips and recommendations about traveling in Sri Lanka and gave useful advice about practical things as well. From the beginning to the end, the atmosphere was warm, friendly and genuine. I can warmly recommend Welcome Family Guest House to anyone visiting the area. Good, clean rooms with a homely atmosphere. The breakfast is simple and homemade rather than a luxury spread, but it’s quite good. One of the best places for the price.

Basic amenities are not kept in the room and you need to ask for them, which is a bit inconvenient and could be improved. However, the staff will provide whatever you need if requested.

Die Besitzer waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Das Zimmer war sauber und ordentlich und die Umgebung ruhig. Ich komme gerne mal wieder vorbei.

The location was perfect, just 3 min far away from the beach! Really quiet surroundings even if the train is passing close by. The room was big and super clean, comfortable with warm water in the shower. The host family was amazing, extremely polite and friendly. Breakfast was great, freshly homemade omelette and traditional sweets. AMAZING!

Struttura bellissima . Molto moderna , camere molto ampie dotate di ogni confort . Connessione ad internet molto veloce. La struttura si trova a due passi dalla stupenda spiaggia di ventura beach ( tra le più belle dello Sri Lanka ). Ci si accede da una piccola stradina e per arrivare in spiaggia bisogna attraversare la Bentota station ( bellissimo😍😍😍😍). Colazione buonissima e abbondante , la famiglia che ci ha ospitato e’ stata meravigliosa . Consigliatissimo❤️

アットホームなゲストハウスで、お部屋も広く清潔で、とても快適に過ごせました。海や駅、レストランも歩いて1、2分で着きますし、スーパーやATMも近くロケーションは最高でした！一人旅でいろいろと困ったことがあった時も、こちらの息子さんがいつでも笑顔で親切にしてくれました。本当に感謝しています。またスリランカに来た際は宿泊したいなと思います♪

Beautifully maintained guest house, a 3 minute walk to Bentota beach. Beside the railway station but no noise problem. Exceptionally clean and pleasant. Good breakfasts. Charming hosts. Nice restaurants nearby along the railway line.

The owners and sons were lovely and really friendly. The breakfast was huge and really good. Comfy bed, glad we had a fridge. One suggestion would be to have a kettle in the room. The shower pressure is not great but that is not the owners fault.

I was recommended to stay here after my family visited in December. You really are made to feel welcome. I had a late arrival 3:30am and the young man was awake to let me in with a smile. Communication was fantastic from making the booking through to the period of my stay. Breakfast was plentiful consisting of eggs different each day, fruit, toast, fruit juice and tea/coffee. The room was absolutely spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. It was obvious to see that there was attention to detail with having the room looking nice. There was even a fridge and the air conditioning worked well. The bed was also very comfortable. Very little noise from outside. They even helped me with my next train. Thanks so much, I highly recommend.

Nothing everything perfect

We've been in Bentota a few times now, and this is our favorite location. Very clean, comfortable bed! No mold! A lot of places in Sri Lanka have mold, not here. Also, nice big shower head with good pressure without the heater switch. Free flowing hot water, this is rare. Nice to have a bottle of water when we arrive late and thirsty. It was sold out so we could only stay one night. The floor was so clean I felt comfortable barefoot, with no crumbs or sand like I felt other places. Lovely family, everyone was so kind. They helped carry my luggage. Always smiling and nice. Great breakfast, we really enjoyed it. Fresh juice without sugar added. GREAT Wifi, it's listed in the room, so you don't have to wait or ask for a pass code. LOVE that the AC is not right above our head, like in most places. Nice quiet fan if you don't want AC. Everything was well thought out. No mosquitoes in the room! This is a big deal! No ants. Easy to communicate with on whatsapp. Nice mini fridge. There are a lot of personal touches. If avaliable book.

We really enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse. It is in a great location, only 5 min walk to the beach and close to nice restaurants and the train station (which we couldn't here at all). The staff were super friendly and helpful, and even got up to say goodbye at 5.15 before our transfer to the airport.

Very comfortable bed. Excellent WiFi. Superb, plentiful breakfast and only 2 minutes to the beach. Very peaceful at night. I can't recommend this guest house enough and would definitely return. Very welcoming and kind family. My room was ready before check-in time. The room was perfect and has everything you need. The two brothers will help you with everything. And the mother really knows how to cook a good meal! Kottu and Rice with Curry was phenomenal. Breakfast and diner is plentiful. It's really close to Bentota railway station and the beach. Had an absolute pleasure staying here!

The family was very welcoming, they prepared dinner and a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast on our request. The room is also comfortable and very clean. We would definitely recommend!

Sithari and her sons Dinush and Sahan were truly wonderful accommodating hosts. Room nice and spacious with lovely big balcony overlooking garden. Breakfast was delicious and super generous. Hosts always available to answer questions and offer advice.

Welcome family guest house was excellent. The room was spotless and the family were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was amazing with an array of different items. Location was also excellent as it was only a very short walk to the station and also to a choice of restaurants. We initially booked for two nights but ended up staying for four nights as we loved it so much.

This was a really lovely Homestay. Very clean and comfortable and an excellent location so near to the train station. The family ( Mother and two sons) were so kind and helpful. Breakfasts were fresh and delicious. We were in Sri Lanka for nearly a month, and this was our favourite accomodation. If you are in Bentota, the Welcome Family Guesthouse is to be recommended.

What a lovely and family place! The room is very cosy and clean, the host family is kind and welcoming, and breakfast beyond delicious. Great location near the beach and with restaurant around the corner. Bentota is definitely a hidden gem and Family Guest House is a perfect place to stay and explore the area.

We had not intended to stay here but are so very glad we did. The family is lovely and very welcoming. Our room was on the ground floor, it was exceptionally clean, well furnished with a wardrobe, small fridge, fan and air-conditioner. The bed was very comfortable and had a mosquito net. There was also a small balcony outside with table and chairs to sit. Lovely breakfast each day and our host accommodated our request for some changes to the breakfast. The property is very close to the train station, restaurants and the beach is just across the railway track, all less than 5 minutes’ walk. The sound of the few trains in the night and morning is hardly noticeable, in fact it was our highlight. We spent quite a bit of time at the railway station and each evening we would enjoy our meals in one of the restaurants along the track watching the trains go by. The railway station was built in 1967, it was designed by Geoffrey Bawa, Sri Lanka’s famous architect and resembles a railway carriage. It has sadly seen better days but is still a wonderful piece of history.

The family were extremely welcoming and friendly. The bedroom, bathroom and bed were all enormous. There is a shower curtain!, wardrobe and fridge. Also a very nice large balcony. Breakfast was very nice & plentiful with plenty of tea served in a China teapot.

If you want to be picky, then you can hear the trains going by at all hours. It didn't bother us.

Twin bed configuration was very cramped. Almost had to climb over my travel companion's bed during the night to go to the bathroom. Maybe putting the beds on the other wall might help. Shower pressure could have been better.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the great hospitality and value-for-money. Our host and her sons gave us lots of helpful advise and we looked forward to the treats at breakfast. This was beautifully presented and plentiful. Our room had A/C, fan, ample storage space and a spacious balcony. We travelled there on the train. The guest house is very close to Bentota station but the trains didn't disturb our sleep during our 4 night stay. Highly recommended

I absolutely loved this place. It was a 5 min walk to the beach, and cleaner than any place I've stayed in before. The family were incredibly warm and accommodating. I would recommend wholeheartedly.

I stayed in the Deluxe Double Room at Welcome Family Guest House for two nights. It was impeccably clean - truly, completely spotless and there was no fault to find anywhere! The Guest House is located right behind Bentota station, and is perhaps a 6 minute walk to the beach, and to the main road. So it really doesn't get any better than this, especially for the price. But if I had to choose one reason why you absolutely must stay here - it is the incredibly warm Sri Lankan couple and their sons whom you live with. On the first night, I told them I was vegetarian, so the host came with me to the neighbouring restaurant to ask them to cook something especially for me. They also arrange mangrove safaris, and provide amaaaazing Sri Lankan breakfast every morning. The spread is quite vast and I actually had to ask them to cut back on the servings as it was a little too much for me (not often that you find yourself being over-served food in a guest house!) I was also a solo female traveller and felt completely safe here. Please go!
