The most beautiful view of Kandy. Much nicer than staying in the city. Very gorgeous views especially at night. The breakfast was amazing, and I felt so welcomed. I highly recommend this place over any hotel.

Zimmer sehr großzügig mit Balkon, alles super sauber. Die Gastgeberin ist sehr nett, ihr Frühstück war sehr lecker. Es gab auch was traditionell Sri lankisches.

The room was very large with a lovely balcony. The bed was very comfortable and there was a good ceiling fan. The bathroom was good and clean, with good water pressure. The breakfast was very filling and the hosts were very friendly and accomodating.

The place was difficult to find and up an extremely challenging hill if you are motorcycling or walking. It is not far from town, but the walk would keep you fit. It maybe challenging if you are older. We had some problems with the wifi.

El lugar es cómodo, puedes ir caminando al lago y al templo, las vistas son preciosas, el desayuno fue espectacular. Los dueños Zenaka y su esposa muy hospitalarios. A 5 minutos de Point view.

Subir escaleras con equipaje de 23 kilos ....casi todos los hospedajes están en altura por la geografía. Solo les recomendaría poner aire acondicionado.

Die Zimmer waren nicht so sauber, das Bad einfach nur abgeduscht, nicht getrocknet und das Waschbecken bei Bezug schmutzig.

La struttura si trova nella collina di fronte al lago, la cosa positiva avere il balcone in camera, ampia e pulita. Il giorno della partenza avremmo avuto il bus presto e ci hanno preparato la colazione da portare con noi consegnandocela la sera prima, molto gentili! lo staff è disponibile ma non da molte informazioni informazione su bus o spostamenti, si è limitato a dirci di andare in stazione.

L’accoglienza dei proprietari è stata estremamente accogliente, di una gentilezza infinita. Ci hanno accolto con un ottimo succo e poi ci ha portato alla stanza che era nuova e pulitissima.

Also die Lage ist toll und die Zimmer erfüllen so ziemlich ihren Zweck aber eine Klima wäre nett. Die Gastgeber sind zuckersüß.

Das Gebäude an sich ist alt, eher schmutzig und das Haus der Familie in dem das Frühstück serviert wird stinkt bestialisch nach Schimmel und Moder.

La habitación estaba muy limpia y era cómoda, y el personal fue amable durante la estancia. En general, fue una experiencia correcta y cumplió con lo básico para pasar un día.

Como aspectos a mejorar, el wifi era inestable y la ubicación no resultó práctica, ya que el alojamiento está situado en la cima de una colina, lo que hacía los desplazamientos más incómodos.

Mr. and Mrs. Medhani are very kind and sweet. The room was very clean, the view was beautiful, and the homemade breakfast was nice The property is located on a steep hillside, but you get a beautiful view of Kandy from above. If you enjoy walking or hiking, the city center is around 25–30 minutes away on foot. Otherwise, you can easily take a tuk-tuk, which takes only about 6 mins. Kandy Viewpoint is also just 4 mins away from the property , where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the whole city.

I proprietari gentilissimi e super disponibili, colazione molto ricca e buonissima, la stanza é molto moderna.

Difficile da trovare in quanto le stanze sono proprio sopra la casa dei proprietari e non vi é alcuna insegna che lo identifichi. Pulizia degli asciugamani non adeguata.

Nice place to stay in Kandy. The room was clean, and the view from the room was really nice. The owners were friendly and everything went smoothly. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.

The bathroom had a slight smell, but it wasn’t a big issue and was manageable.

I fully enjoyed staying at this property. The hosts were extremely hospitable and if you have opted for breakfast, you'll be extremely delighted. I stayed there for only 2 nights and when I'm coming back I'll definitely be staying at Medhani.

The hotel room was very nice, the balcony had a jungle and city view. The family is very warm and welcoming. The overall experience was calming and comfortable.

Der Ausblick vom Zimmer ist einfach fantastisch. Die Unterkunft verfügt sogar über ihren eigenen Aussichtspunkt, von dem man die wunderschöne Umgebung genießen kann. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich den Gastgeber. Er ist unglaublich herzlich, fürsorglich und hilfsbereit. Da ich alleine gereist bin, hat er sich immer wieder erkundigt, ob alles in Ordnung ist, und sogar nach meiner Abreise noch nachgefragt. Man kann ihn jederzeit um Rat oder Hilfe bitten, er kümmert sich wirklich um seine Gäste und vermittelt fast ein familiäres Gefühl. Das Frühstück war einfach toll, und die frischen tropischen Früchte waren ein besonderes Highlight. Da ich in Deutschland lebe, weiß ich solche frischen und geschmackvollen Früchte besonders zu schätzen, denn dort findet man nur selten vergleichbare Qualität. Außerdem hat er mir sein Geschäft in der Stadt gezeigt und mir viele interessante Einblicke in das lokale Leben gegeben. Seine Gastfreundschaft hat meinen Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Ich kann diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Spectacular view, nice room and very friendly and kind host

i stayed for 2 nights the room was clean and tidy and had a lovely view as was up a hill so overlooked kandy however was not too far up the hill that it was far to walk was around a 10 minute walk into kandy the hosts were so lovely and accommodating room has a fridge which they give you water to keep in it such a lovley room with even nicer hosts couldn’t fault it!!

The property is spotless with modern finishing throughout — you can tell a lot of care goes into maintaining it. The balcony has a beautiful open view into the mountains, easily the best part of waking up there.

A really lovely place to stay in Kandy. The room was clean, the breakfast was very generous and tasty, and the owners were genuinely kind and helpful throughout my stay. I especially enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful mountain view. It's a little outside the city centre, which makes it nice and quiet while still being easy to get around. The Wi-Fi was also very good. I would happily stay there again.

Meget tæt på byen og go spot..go restaurenter. Flot bjerg udsigt fra balcon og meget søde vært og valuta for pengene. Kommer tilbage igen..

I felt very welcome and the view from the room is also amazing, the mattress was also very comfortable and the bathroom complex new and modern. The room is big and comes with a beautiful city view from the balcony and a fridge. The breakfast was amazing and different every day. The owners are very nice and take care of their guests. I lost my credit card during my stay, and they gave me cash to take the tuk-tuk and bus when I left. Thank you so much for your generosity.

There were many insects in the room, especially in the bathrooms (ants and cockroaches). I believe that's because the place is near the jungle. The sheets and towels are very old and need to be replaced.

Great property in a great location. Balcony looks over Kandy with the lake and mountains in the background- a short walk into the town or a cheap tuk tuk. Even had monkeys come visit! The room was comfortable and had great shower pressure. The host and his wife were the highlight- both very friendly and welcoming. Would 100% recommend staying here!

Breakfast very good. Sunrise facing room with balcony. Nice view. Inn is way up the hill, about 500m above the Kandy lookout. Bed good, room spacious, good wifi. Very nice hosts. Good value for money.

Lack of aircon. Got pretty warm, and fan not quite enough. No screen on balcony door which I had to leave open at night to get room cooled. That attracted some moths. Driveway and 1st block down are extremely steep, may not be safe when wet.

Велика кімната з чудовим видом на місто, але було не досить чисто і з мурашками, які повзали по ліжку. Гестхаус розташований дещо далі від озера, вам потрібно буде підніматися вгору щонайменше 30 хвилин пішки, або орендувати тук-тук. Холодильник і вентилятор нам став у нагоді. За таку вартість це непоганий варіант, але не вистачало швабри щоб прибирати воду після душу, без швабри це дуже слизько і небезпечно ходити, і також була відсутня сушка для випраного одягу. Також було відчутно запах із каналізації ванної кімнати і жахливо скрипіли двері у ванну, що заважало спати, хоча їх дуже легко полагодити. Сніданок одноманітний і дуже небагатий.

We asked to cancel our reservation and sent a message, but we never received any response. Later, we were told that if a twin room was available, we could stay, and they offered us two separate rooms for the price of one. We agreed, and the owner’s wife told us we could make the payment the next morning at breakfast. Since the exchange offices were closed, I planned to exchange money before breakfast and pay in the morning. However, when we returned to the hotel in the evening, the owner pressured us to pay immediately. I offered to pay in euros, but he refused. He also refused to accept credit cards and approached me in a very aggressive and threatening manner. They did not even allow us to go to our room. Although our reservation on Booking was for 26€, they suddenly demanded 35€. I refused. In the messages, the owner clearly stated that we would pay 12,300 LKR. I explained that our agreement was 26€, which is approximately 10,000 LKR. Then the owner’s wife asked for 14,000 LKR. When I insisted on paying 12,300 LKR as previously agreed, the owner again demanded 14,000 LKR. Only after I showed the messages on Booking and said I would report the situation did they accept 12,300 LKR and let us go to our room. On top of this, the room felt very unsafe. The door was wooden and opened to what looked like a construction area. There was a large gap on the side of the door (not just underneath), which made it possible for insects — and even people — to get inside. There was a huge spider in the room. I had to block the side of the door with a blanket to feel slightly safe while sleeping. I chose this hotel because of its high rating, but after this experience, I genuinely cannot understand how such a place can have such a high score. Overall, this was a very stressful and uncomfortable experience. I would not recommend this place.

De kamer en bedden waren zeer goed, de badkamer was ook goed op de ranzige wcborstel op de grond naast de pot na.

Eigentlich ist die Unterkunft echt ganz gut. Sie ist schön eingerichtet und hat eine gute Lage mit toller Aussicht. Auch das Frühstück war umfangreich und lecker. Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich.

Leider hatten wir unangenehme Begegnungen mit Ameisen und Kakerlaken. Und wir haben den Preis als etwas zu teuer für nur 1 Nacht empfunden.

Ottima stanza in cima al lago con una vista pazzesca sopratutto durante l’alba e il tramonto, l’host è stato gentilissimo e cordiale con noi. Camera pulita spaziosa, comodo bagno e balcone. Sicuramente un ottima base da cui poter esplorare la cittadina di Kandy con tutti i luoghi di interessa nelle vicinanze. Un grazie ancora all’host per l’accoglienza ricevuta.

Poor signage - this has been noted before - v difficult to find Bathroom had smell of sewers No kettle in room - eventually got given one after 2 days No hairdryer . Both are expected when paying this sort of money for accommodation. Owners pleasant enough but very tardy in answering requests - promising within 5 minutes- and not getting action for at least an hour Beware of the monkeys - balcony not a place to sit in the day having a drink/snack as they will try and take things .

Доброжелательные хозяева, часто спрашивают, все ли у тебя хорошо, стараются сделать все красиво. Завтрак был очень разнообразный и большой. В номере было чисто и достаточно уютно. Вид из номера открывался шикарный: джунгли, озеро, исторические здания.

Location shown by Google when pointed by booking.com is wrong by few hundred meters. Better just type Medhani directly on Google Maps - you will get better navigation.

This guest house has no signage or room numbers, so quite difficult to find. The owner was friendly and the room clean but the place was very basic and felt incomplete. The bed was comfortable and the balcony was nice with a good view. No Air con but the fan worked well. No tea or coffee making facilities, but owner brought us mango juice on arrival. WiFi was good, plus there is a fridge. Breakfast included heaps of toast with a fried egg and sausage, butter and jam. Lots of fruit - which was nice. The shower was OK but the toilet wobbled a bit and the tap was loose on the sink. We felt that compared to other places, this accommodation was quite expensive for what was actually provided.

Contrary to info on Booking.com, cards are not accepted. No tea or coffee provided in room. There is a very steep ramp from the road up to the building followed by 2 flights of stairs up to the rooms, so if you have heavy bags and are not physically fit, I'd look elsewhere.

Great views, quiet area, friendly staff and room was neat, tidy and great for the price.

Emplacement super. A 15min du centre à pieds, proche de quelques petits restaurants. Chambre avec vue sur le lac et sur les montagnes. Petit dej copieux et délicieux. Chambre spacieuse tres propre et petit balcon en plus !

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival and given a welcome Mango juice drink by the lady of the house. The room was bright and clean and was a refreshing change to some other places we have stayed recently. The view from the balcony was awesome. Wifi was available in the room from our own plug in modem booster, brilliant. A very welcome innovation.

Nothing really but a couple of things to note. One for future guests: The local monkey population will visit your room and steal your Kelloggs Cornflakes and eat them in the trees in front of you. Keep food hidden and window closed. That of course goes for everywhere and shows how stupid we are. The owner did warn us. One for the owner. We will write a review and it will be an honest one. It won't be written on demand by you or before we leave. Please don't pester guests for a 10 review as the pressure can feel like intimidation and put people in a negative frame of mind which could result in a lower mark. You are very attentive and friendly so don't worry.

Zum Frühstücken gibt es nur 1 großen Tisch für max 5 Gäste. Wenn voll, dann müssen die nächsten Gäste warten. Hier wären mehrere kleine Tische schön. Platz gäbe es. Wasserkocher im Zimmer mit Tee und Kaffee sollte Standard sein.

La chambre et la vue était top.

Les hôtes sont au petit soin. Ils ont accepté de nous préparer un petit déjeuner très tôt. Le petit dej était copieux, nous n’avons pas eu besoin de manger le midi. Beaucoup de fruits frais, très agréable ! Pour finir, le logement est dans les hauteurs de Kandy donc très calme. Ça fait du bien après une journée agitée dans Kandy.

Initially I booked two nights, then after enjoying my stay had to book an extra night! Great location with a view of the lake, and a nice walking distance to Kandy Central town and the sights by the lake. Quiet and cool at night with a good view of the sunrise in the morning. Received a very warm welcome from the family hosting, and enjoyed delicious egg roti and tea at their shop nearby for breakfast each morning. I highly recommend Medhani for a place to stay when in Kandy!

The location and the rooms are great: calm, superb view, Balkony, much light, a lot of space. The rooms are modernised, well isolated and I liked the interor design. The hosts are very nice and welcoming.

That I had to leave...

Czysty pokój, wygodne łóżko, nowoczesny wystrój, piękny widok z balkonu. Jak na zdjęciach. Łazienka również czysta, z ciepłą wodą. W pokoju lodówka i codziennie dostawaliśmy butelkę wody.

Lokalizacja - wg mapy na bookingu obiekt znajduje się niżej niż w rzeczywistości. Trzeba naprawdę sporego wysiłku, by się tam dostać. Taksówki czy tuk tuki tam nie dojadą. Najpierw ulicą pod górę, potem strony podjazd, a później jeszcze schody. Widziałam w komentarzach podobne opinie, ale mimo wszystko zaskoczyło mnie to, co zastałam. Drobny szczegół: drzwi wymagają naprawy, są wypaczone i trzeba je zamykać na klucz, żeby się nie otwierały.

Nice big room, well kept and organized. Very good bathroom, so far best in Sri Lanka. Super helpful hosts, helped us with early breakfast and laundry.

On some days we had cold sunny side up eggs. Wifi struggled to work in the rooms upstairs.

The view from the balcony is amazing, the host is also extremely friendly! It was a great experience staying at this place, we can only recommend it
