West Haven House

Everything was as we expected - breakfast was great, the rooms bigger than some that we stayed in, and service was fine. West Haven house is very close to the centre of Doolin, and Killagh Church is a very interesting site nearby. The pier is a bit of a walk. The staff were especially helpful (even by Irish standards, which seem to be high); they did a round of laundry for us, which saved us a few hours of downtime in the middle of our two week holiday!

Very nicely decorated and very close to the Cliffs of Moher. Most rooms are upstairs and as we had large bags, we left our suitcases in the car and brought in what we needed in our smaller bags. There is a lovely sitting area downstairs near the breakfast room, where biscuits tea and coffee were out for our arrival. Breakfast was very reasonably priced and very good. Continental as well as a cooked breakfast.

We couldn’t believe that there was no toilet brush! The host told us that the cleaner thought they were dirty. Made us a little uncomfortable. “Flex Lite” make a flat silicone brush which we used at another place. No bristles and so easy to clean. Might even get one for home! Communication was also a little dodgy. We were told our room number but not where to find the key. The hosts don’t live on site, so you don’t see them until the morning.

This is a lovely b& b. Liz & Cormac are great hosts. The room is very spacious and quiet and the bed is very comfortable. Breakfast is delicious with a variety of foods to pick from. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

The breakfast was excellent, and the location was very good, being only about 200-300 meters from one of the pubs in Doolin. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and we would be delighted to come back again.

We liked West Haven very much! Friendly hosts. Large and clean room; comfortable shower, comfortable bed, parking on site. Great breakfast. The room and the facilities in real life looks much better than in the pictures.

Beautifully decorated. No clutter. Comfortable and cozy. Loved that there was a fan in the room. Excellent place to stay. Hosts were very accommodating for check-in and checkout. Would definitely recommend this place.

La casa és preciosa, com a les fotografies, l'habitació molt còmode i àmplia. Molt a prop del centre però amb parking propi per poder deixar el cotxe i a 10 minuts de Cliffs of Moher per poder arribar abans de les 11am i gaudir de l'entrada més econòmica i grans grups d'autocars.

No ens va rebre ningú al arribar, estava el nostre nom a una llibreta i van pujar sols a l'habitació, una mica impersonal. Però tot correcte, i potser hi ha gent que prefereix no interactuar amb ningú però nosaltres quan reservem un B&B ens agrada poder parlar amb la gent que gestiona l'allotjament.

Maison joliment décorée, chambre spacieuse et calme, bon choix de petits-déjeuners. Bien situé, près de l'embarcadère pour les îles Aran, des Cliffs of Moher et de deux pubs où on peut dîner et passer de belles soirées musicales.

The breakfast was MAD good! They held our bags while we were out for the day with no trouble; the owner/cook was delightful and wanted to be sure we were comfortable and happy. We were!

My stay was too short

It's well located for exploring Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. The room is spacious and bright, with comfy beds and a newly renovated full bathroom. The hosts were quick in responding, and the staff were very friendly. Excellent breakfast. Overall we had a fantastic stay and will definitely book again next time we're in the area.

La camera era pulita ma c'era un odore strano non gradevole. L'insonorizzazione interna inesistente. La camera prenotata avrebbe dovuto avere "la vista". Tra tutte credo fosse quella con la vista peggiore (allego foto).

Die Lage zu den Cliffs ist sehr gut. Parkplätze vorm Haus.

Im Bad waren in der Dusche die benutzten Shampoos vom Vorgänger noch drin. Das Wasser im Waschbecken ist nur sehr schlecht abgelaufen. Die Toilettenspülungen der anderen Zimmer hat in unserem Bad jedesmal ein Gurgeln verursacht. Frühstück lief etwas unglücklich. Es hat geheißen Frühstück kann man vor Ort buchen und es gibt Frühstück bis 10.00 Uhr. Als wir um 9.30 Uhr kamen, war alles weggeräumt. Leider war bei der Ankunft niemand da, sonst hätten wir das da schon regeln können. Es wurde uns zwar noch angeboten wieder alles herzuräumen, aber das erschien uns zu aufwändig. Sind dann in eine nahegelegene Bäckerei gefahren. Die war sehr gut.

Bellissima! Siamo rimasti contentissimi di tutto. La struttura è tenuta benissimo e le stanze sono grandi e arredate bene. Lo staff non l’abbiamo conosciuto ma abbiamo fatto il check in velocissimo grazie alle loro indicazioni. Per chi visita le cliffs of moher é’ perfetto. Il mare e il piccolo centro di Doolin sono stupendi

È stato tutto stupendo. Sarebbe carino avere un adattatore europeo in camera. Errore nostro che non lo abbiamo portato dall’Italia ma lo abbiamo trovato in tutte le altre sistemazioni. Andrebbe bene anche una presa usb. Non abbiamo potuto ricaricare i telefoni e ci servivano il giorno dopo per viaggiare e tornare a Galway

This is a fabulous guesthouse - there were 8 of us staying here and we're all in agreement that everything was spotlessly clean, the beds were super comfy, the staff were brilliant and the breakfast was the best we'd ever had in any other hotel or guesthouse. It's in a lovely quiet spot too, so a good nights sleep was had by all 8 of us!

It was good. It's great to be able to eat in the location you are staying and pay $10 Euro. Great! Clean. Comfy. Friendly. Walkable into town, restaurants, live music.

The friendly staff and owner we met. The location was terrific, close to the pubs and not a far ride to the cliffs.

Es hermosa! Todo es perfecto, la ubicación, el paisaje, la amplitud, decoración. La simpatía de los anfitriones. Realmente un placer, lástima que fue solo una noche. Además me hicieron un desayuno gluten free y están muy cerca de los acantilados. Las camas y almohadas muy cómodas. Además había un ventilador y se agradece porque en estas zonas no suelen tener porque siempre hace frío pero eso en verano no siempre es así y hemos pasado calor en otros sitios.

I liked the location.

I had high expectations when I booked West Haven House. However, the rooms were very noisy because the walls and ceilings are thin. I had requested two quiet rooms and was allocated (through a message) two rooms right by the entrance on the ground floor. There was no one to talk to as the owners were not around until the next morning. The shower in one of the rooms needs to be fixed because the water does not drain properly and the grout in the tiles of the shower and the wall above the tiles are dirty (see photos). We welcomed the complementary tea or coffee but could not enjoy it in the evening as there was no milk. Since the owners were away, we could not ask them for milk. In sum, my family and I considered the accommodation overrated and overpriced and we would not stay there again nor recommend it to anyone else.

West Haven was wonderful. The location, clean and lovely rooms, and great breakfast Made it a delight.

Conveniently located within walking distance of several businesses yet we had an excellent view of the sunset. The room was very tastefully decorated and clean.

Hot water in the shower took quite a while to get warm for the first shower of the day.

Super friendly staff and owner, beautiful house! Everything was very clean. Our room was a great size for 2 adults and 3 kids (4 beds and plenty of room). Breakfast was delicious and the location was close to the town center but far enough away for a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. Very close to the Cliffs of Moher.

Schöne und gemütliche Unterkunft, großes Zimmer, tolles Frühstück und nettes Personal. Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Umgebung mit dem Auto gut erreichbar.

Laute Nachbarn. Dafür kann aber die Unterkunft nichts. Personal hat sich mehrmals dafür entschuldigt.

The location and quality of the accommodation were superb. The staff were so helpful not just with making our stay wonderful but also with providing insights on the local area and attractions.

For two people in their 70s, the stairs to the first floor were a bit steep. I should have asked for a ground floor or it should be an option when booking.

The location was ideal for visiting the Cliffs of Moor and within walking distance from two pubs. The room was big and clean. It was very minimalist but it had the essentials for a great stay. I would definitely stay again when visiting Doolin. I enjoyed the breakfast and the eagerness to help from the staff as well as the communication from the owners early on check in morning with instructions.

Great location. Just four doors down from good food and music. Lovely, refreshing atmosphere. Good walks in any direction. Cormac was friendly and great to talk to. Wish we would have done another night.
