Friendly staff, they like to chat with people, get to know them. Place is always kept clean. The included breakfast is great start to the day, its a good breakfast too, not just bread. Cool dog

Can use some better seating upstairs. Awkward chairs with plastic on top is not comfortable in the heat. The kitchen closes at 10pm, no place to keep your beer cold. A mini-fridge upstairs would be perfect 👌.

Me sentí como en casa desde el primer momento. Mariano y Sol son personas encantadoras, cercanas y siempre dispuestas a ayudar y compartir sus recomendaciones. El ambiente es muy agradable para conocer a otros viajeros y las habitaciones son limpias y cómodas, con aire acondicionado.

Estamos encantadas con nuestra estancia en el hostel. Mariano y Sol, los dueños, son un encanto, muy agradables y simpáticos, siempre con recomendaciones locales para hacer de nuestra experiencia un recuerdo inolvidable. Los desayunos cada mañana preparados uno a uno por ellos mismo, riquísimos. El hostel está chulísimo, la decoración, las terrazas, la piscina… nos ha encantado! Volveríamos si pudiésemos sin duda.

Excelente relación precio/calidad. Dormí de maravilla Refrescarse en la alberca luego de un día rondando los 40C fué maravilloso, así como la plática con el propietario durante el desayuno. Los dormitorios son limpios y cómodos, cada cama con su luz y contacto eléctrico. La gente con quien me tocó compartir habitación muy respetuosa, cero ruido, cero pláticas en la habitacion. El Aire acondicionado funciona perfecto

El area de cocina podría estar mas limpia y si ya incluye desayuno, pienso que debería incluir la lavada de los trastes del desayuno, aunque entiendo que los huespedes que se preparen algo adicional o diferente deban lavar sus propios trastes. Los baños muy limpios, pero podrían estar mejor equipados, parecen como de camping.

Mi experiencia en el hostal fue muy buena. Me encantó la limpieza, la ubicación y las áreas comunes, que son muy agradables. Además, cuenta con alberca, lo cual fue un plus y disfruté mucho durante mi estancia. Los anfitriones Mariano y Sol fueron muy amables y atentos en todo momento, y el perrito del lugar fue un encanto y le dio un toque muy especial a la estancia. Sin duda, es un lugar que recomiendo y al que volvería.

The owners, Mariano and sol, Are very attentive. They even frequently organize Free tours to beaches near La Paz, as well as hiking trips with Guests. The volunteers always greet you With a smile. You feel right at home. I've stayed here both times I've Visited La Paz, it has everything - Cleanliness, a great atmosphere, and a location close to the city Center and the beach. Next time I return to La Paz, I'll definitely Stay at Sunset Hostel again!

El staff era muy atento , Mariano el dueño siempre estuvo pendientes de mis necesidades y muy atento a los huéspedes en temas de organización de excursiones . La habitación tenia todo lo necesario y era cómoda. La localización también era muy buena , solo a minutos caminando del malecón.

The staff was great, especially the owners! The knew my name even before I introduced myself, knew which bes I was sleeping in and changed me to a more comfortable one. Super friendly!

Hosts went out of their way to accommodate us, whether it be helping me find a pharmacist when sick or taking us to the beach with them for a day out. I truly couldn't recommend Sunset Hostel any more, it's perfectly designed by (former) backpackers for backpackers.

Hands down the absolute best hostel I have ever stayed at! The hostel has an amazing location including great internet to work, a pool and a fantastic vibe. It is clean and cozy and you can get great deals on wherher its tours or renting equipment such as a car, bicycles etc. The best part about it though are the owners Mariana and Sol! Such kind and helpful people who just want to make sure that each guest has a fantastic stay. In low season and if there are enough guests, they sometimes even take you on little excursions such as sandboarding or to secret beaches around the area. My stay with them got extended several times just because I loved it so much here. It almost felt like home. Thank you so muuch Mariano and Sol and see you again soon!

La atención de los dueños del lugar fue increíble, el hecho que incluyan desayuno ayuda a no tener que salir a buscar y sobre todo lo céntrico, ellos algunos días llevan a sus huéspedes a viajes como parte de la experiencia de estar en La Paz

Una experiencia increíble. Desde el primer momento, los anfitriones fueron extremadamente amables, atentos y siempre dispuestos a ayudar. Te hacen sentir como en casa y crean un ambiente muy acogedor. El hostal está muy bien cuidado, limpio y tiene todo lo necesario para sentirse cómodo y relajado. Además, las actividades que organizan son espectaculares y permiten descubrir La Paz de una forma única. El desayuno también merece una mención especial: delicioso, fresco y perfecto para empezar el día con energía. Sin duda, recomiendo este hostal al 100 %. Si vuelvo a La Paz, me quedaré aquí otra vez. ¡Muchas gracias por todo!

There were some people complaining about the kitchen closing at night, but I don’t think I’ve ever been to a hostel where that isn’t the case. So no complaints here!

Me gusta quedarme en Sunset Hostal cuando voy a la Paz , me gusta que tiene un estilo relajado hippie , y la atención es magnífica , es como estar en familia.

Mariano , Sol y el perrito Ricky te dan la bienvenida a un Hostal acogedor y con conexión humana. La ubicación es excelente y centrica y permite visitar café y restaurantes cercanos.El malecón queda a 10 mins caminando.

El staff es genial, Sol, Diego, Arturo y Vicky te tratan super bien, siempre pendiente de que no te falte nada. Las zonas comunes con hamaca, jardin y piscina son bien lindas. Muy limpio todo y ordenado. Super centrico, en zona segura y a 5 calles de la playa del malecon. Lo que mas me gusto es que tienen agua de filtro para no contaminar con botellas, el cafe de la mañana y que las camas tienen cortina, estante , enchufe y luz. Pero lo mejor de lo mejor Fue Ricky un Husky super lindo y amigable

From the location to all the available amenities, pool, very close to convenience store, shops, restaurants and Malecon, easy to find and safely surrounded. I highly recommend to ask for the tours available, or the rental bikes, bicycles and also close walking distance shops for skates or skateboards. There are plenty of activities to do daily and the Staff are the most friendly that i had a chance to interact with. Most welcoming. Mariano, Sol, Diego and all the volunteers were amazing. Make you feel at home.

Die Zimmer sind für die Anzahl Personen eher klein. Eine etwas grössere Ablagefläche beim Schlafplatz wäre praktisch gewesen aber das ist ein Detail.

Really liked the back hangout area. Hammocks were comfy. Staff was nice and accommodating. Nice walk to malecon.

Great stay. I had a private room wirh twin beds. I loved the way the light hit the coloured window. Bed was comfy and communal space including hammocks and kitchen good.

Only down side was no hot water in the shower but didnt matter too much.

I had a great stay at Sunset Hostel in La Paz! The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, the rooms were clean, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. A huge thank you to the team for sending me my ID by post after I wasn’t able to pick it up (I had left it as a deposit). I really appreciate the extra effort and honesty — it means a lot! Highly recommended, I would definitely stay here again.

Viele andere Reisende, bequeme Hängematten und warmes Wasser beim Duschen.

Die Küche war sehr schmutzig und vieles kaputt (z.b. der Ofen funktionierte gar nicht). Auch war der Kühlschrank so voll dass man nichts unterbringen konnte. Sie schließen die Küche erst nach 8 Uhr auf. Vorher darf man auch nicht an den Kühlschrank oder in dem Aufenthaltsbereich. Das Personal ist mehr mit dem Handy beschäftigt, anstatt zu reinigen oder andere (offensichtliche) Aufgaben zu erledigen. Wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer und das Bett war extrem durchgelegen. Das Peace Hostel (nur 10 Minuten entfernt) war deutlich besser.

The wifi is undependable - during my stay it frequently cut in and out. 22 is the minimum temp that the staff will set the in-room AC to. No towel included with bed.

Owners were amazing, helping out where they could.

Los dueños increíblemente amables, yo estaba enferma y Sol me ayudó con una crema. Nos dieron consejos y mi amiga se hizo súper amiga de ellos. El ambiente bastante amplio y todo limpio. El segundo día fuimos con Paul de la recepción a playa balandras y el resto del personal también súper amable. Vamos a volver 100%, también volvería viajando sola.

Les pièces communes sont très bien faites pour rencontrer les autres voyageurs et échanger. Nous nous sentons comme à la maison. J'ai fait de superbes rencontres et pu faire des activités avec les autres voyageurs. Il y a de très belles choses à faire aux alentours. J'ai également rencontré des voyageurs qui sont venus plusieurs fois dans cet hostel et qui reviennent à chaque séjour, et je comprends pourquoi. Merci pour tout ❤️

Le fait que le frigo et les étagères de nourriture ne soit pas accessibles avant 8h. C'est important à savoir quand on a une excursion et que l'on doit partir tôt. On se fait avec la première fois mais après on s'organise ☺️ Sinon tout était ok.

Shower isn't too warm

I stayed in one of the private rooms with a private bathroom and had the perfect mix of privacy and still getting to know other people. The hostel is cozy and chill. The Malecón is reachable in 10 minutes on foot to watch sunsets and have dinner. The staff was friendly, eager to help, and organized little get-togethers in the evening. They also invited everyone to eat pan de muertos and add something to their altar during the days before dia de muertos.

- The water pump is super annoying. Starting with the first person taking a shower in the morning, the water pump starts humming really loudly for a few seconds every few seconds. One night it just did that non-stop for the whole night. - I rented a bicycle for two days and one of the staff removed the lock after day one. I headed out early on day two - before the staff arrived - so I had no lock, which was annoying. They also told me that the key would be on the counter in the morning on day one, but it wasn't. Overall a bit chaotic. - Previous reviews said that there was a water dispenser, but apparently it broke or something, so there is no water dispenser anymore, just letting you know. The owner provided me with water during my stay, but I think that was some special treatment, maybe because I was in a private room. - Not the hostel's fault, but the neighbors are a bit loco and have a party every other day.
