Reviewed Aug 16, 2026Everything clean and tidy. Best location you could have, especially we are coming for Yamakaza - you are 1 min walk away from the main shrine. Besides, its a quiet neighbourhood yet so close to many things and transport. The hostel itself is both cosy and modern. I never feel anything is dirty, thanks also for other guests maintaining the practices in the house.

Quizás mi único problema es que hubo momentos en los que el wifi no se conectaba correctamente pero eso no afectó realmente a mi estancia como tal.

入口がふたつありわかり辛い。店員さんにチェックインですというと丁寧に説明してくださるので、問題はないです。

Reviewed Jul 22, 2026The location was perfect. Right in the middle between the lively city centre and the train station. Everything in walkable distance. The hostel was really superbly equipped, and everything was nice and clean. The staff was also really nice as they let me store my bag for a couple of hours on the day of my departure.
Snoring of one of the roommates. But that's obviously the price for the type of accommodation.

Reviewed May 27, 2026The location is great - right in the heart of the old city and about 15 minute walk to the busy areas. The accommodation itself was very clean and the communal area was beautiful, all very Japanese and very well looked after.
It was one of our most expensive accommodations during our two months in Japan - possibly due to Golden week but quite steep for a hostel! Also a lot of stairs to the female dormitories if you have a lot of luggage. The main issue we had were the rules around showering, you weren’t allowed to shower in the night which was really tricky for us. We wake up, we want to shower but can’t because they’re cleaning them for quite a long time, and then we go out for the day and have dinner and some drinks and by the time we come back we’re too late to shower. I had to wash in the sink a couple of nights, just a bit of a strange rule given the showers weren’t inside the dorms!

Reviewed May 15, 2026I really loved my stay here. The cosy and warm feeling of the space. Loving the tatami style seating. The beds were comfortable. There are two showers and also two laundry machines with dryers. Its also in a convenient location near the Gion district and Hakata station. I will definitely be back!
Only thing would be that the bund bends are pretty low I was the the bottom and kept hitting my head, even as a short person.

They were very welcoming and provided a warm environment to stay. The decor throughout is unique and interesting and all the facilities were kept exceptionally clean.
The beds are harder than we are used to being westerners.

Reviewed Mar 26, 2026距離櫛田神社跟運河城不遠，地點相當便利 周邊也有不少便利商店跟藥妝店，也很方便採購 有基本的瓦斯爐跟烤箱之類的可以使用 住宿環境整理得非常乾淨 老闆也相當友善，可以用流利的英文對話 房間基本上都在二樓，如有長輩的行李，可能需要提著走上去(沒有電梯)，要注意一下~~
希望浴室門上或牆上有可以掛浴巾/衣服的地方，雖有提供置物籃，但要開門出去拿取物品，還是有些許不方便

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026スタッフが三階までスーツケースを 運んでくれて、たすかりました。 部屋は二段ベッドが２つに、テーブルと二人座れる 位のスペースがあり、シャワー室トイレも清潔でした。バスタオルと歯ブラシは持っていたので、ついかで購入しませんでした。2階のコーヒーを飲んだりするキッチンも、鍋にお箸色々そろってて便利そうでしたが、今回は利用しませんでした。
階段が急すぎて、荷物持って降りる時は 気を付けるべきです。 知らない方と同室なんで、明け方にチェックアウト される方がいると確実におこされますので そんな事もあるのね…と。

Reviewed Mar 1, 2026i was pleasantly surprised by how nice place was when i entered. from the carpeted floors to intricate japanese deco in the house. the place was probably one of the cleanest accomodations i've stayed in, honestly on par with high end hotels. the common area was a very nice open area for guests to mingle. i also didn't have any issues with having to wait for the toilet/showers as you could use both levels. the staff were kind and polite throughout the stay.
there's no curfew to enter the place after a late night out, but the common area usage is only until 12pm - totally understandable if you consider that the common area is quite close to the guest rooms. but if you are expecting to hang out with new friends till late at night, then heading out might be a better option.

Walk-in/step-in showers and bathrooms are outside of sleeping rooms, but private which was a pleasant surprise (only one person at a time!) Love that there's a curfew (12am which is more than reasonable imo) Location is conveniently near the Gion station on the Fukuoka Airport Line and a few minutes walk to Kushida Shrine and Kawabata Shopping Arcade which made it super convenient for food, sight-seeing, and shopping!
The rooms are a little tight, but manageable! For those looking for something more accessible, this hostel requires you to climb stairs to reach your room.

Reviewed Jan 7, 2026Nakaima Guesthouse is in a great location, just steps away from the subway station, in an old neighborhood. You can drop off your bags early or leave them after you check out. There's a common area, kitchen, laundry facilities and free snacks. The bunk has 2 power outlets, curtains for privacy and a large locker under the bed that fits a day pack easily. The bed was comfortable. There are even laundry nets to wash your delicates in. A nice touch.
