Isabel really lovely. House / Hotel & grounds beautiful & walk up to tower is a must. Service was excellent.

Dinner expensive for what it was. For shared room, the bathroom was awkward as it was transparent glass including the toilet. Bedroom could have had gowns.

Quand vous arrivez à la Villa Idalina, vous avez l'impression d'avoir navigué dans une machine à remonter le temps. Tout est d'époque 1910, en parfait état. C'est magnifique. Accueil charmant par une hôtesse passionnée par l'histoire de la maison et de ses habitants. Petit déjeuner exceptionnel.

Absolutely beautiful and comfortable Palace to say in!! The hosts were so kind and accommodating. The building is soo gorgeous and detailed. My room was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. I felt like I was in a Jane Austen novel :) the grounds were amazing and peaceful and the tower was glorious!! Delicious breakfast in the most beautiful space.

Ha sido toda una experiencia poder disfrutar de alojamientos como Villa Idalina. Íbamos recomendados pero ha superado con creces nuestras expectativas. Un lugar para la desconexión y el disfrute de cada detalle. Sus anfitriones siempre pendientes de que te sientas como en casa. Una villa con mucha historia a la que cuesta decir ADIÓS.

Me ha gustado todo de esta villa, desde la maravillosa historia, con la que llevo obsesionada desde que la conocí hasta la increíble recepción por parte de Susana. También hemos conocido a Barbara, que es un encanto y un placer haberte escuchado tus historias. Nunca había estado en una casa Indiana y me ha fascinado adentrarme en sus paredes. Gracias familia por abrirnos las puertas de vuestra preciosa casa. El desayuno es increíble.

Villa Idalina is a unique & romantic experience with personalized service provided by the owners, Susan & her husband. A beautiful 1911 mansion filled with furnishings and artwork original to the house which is surrounded by beautiful gardens that include fruit trees, flowers, a built-in pool, greenhouse, walking paths and plenty of seating areas. We only left the property to walk along the river that empties into the ocean. Susan is an excellent cook who put together a delicious cold dinner/charcuterie board which we picked up in the spacious wine cellar and had our choice of balconies & patios to enjoy our meal. Breakfast included cakes, breads, cookies, and quiches Susan made herself. Susan also sells homemade crafts & clothing on the grounds. (I bought some perfumed soap!) The house has beautiful views of Caminha and the River Lima throughout. We look forward to returning and highly recommend Palacete Villa Idalina to anyone looking for a very special & memorable place to stay.

We stayed during a heatwave and it would have been nice if our room had had some air conditioning or a fan and screens on the windows. (The cross breezes were wonderful.)

La historia del palacete, el cuidado de todas las instalaciones, el jardín, el desayuno y la cariñosa atención de los propietarios.

Algo que no depende de los responsables del palacete: la cercanía de la carretera que ensucia con su ruido la calma del lugar.

Las instalaciones eran muy chulas, pero cuando quisimos disfrutar de ellas estaban o bien reservadas para grupos privados, o directamente cerradas con llave.

Todo. Lugar, piscina, jardín, habitación. Maravilloso. Desayuno completo. Personal muy amable. Volvería sin dudarlo.

Nada. Indicar solo que no tienen parking, pero se aparca bien en la calle, delante del Hotel.

Un poco de espaldas a Portugal estando en Caminha. Quizás tener parte de los libros en Portugués o cosas portuguesas en el desayuno ( como mantequilla salada) estaría bien

Een 10 is eigenlijk nog niet voldoende voor deze unieke locatie. Een prachtige ‘palacete’ waar alles tot in detail in oorspronkelijke staat in gehouden, maar waar je tegelijk van een luxe paradijs kan genieten. Met een prachtige tuin, een unieke kamer, een heerlijk bed en een geweldig zwembad. Waarbij de eigenaren er alles aan doen om het je naar de zin te maken en je enorm welkom te laten voelen. Het voelt als een ‘thuis’ en het is echt een geweldige plek om te verblijven!

Niets. Alles is er en alles klopt. Ofschoon de locatie aan een (drukke) weg is gelegen - tevens de Camino route - heb je daar geen enkele last van.

Beyond beautiful, spacious & clean rooms , breakfast was outstanding in terms of presentation and variety.

Charming hotel and grounds. Room was super comfy, staff friendly and accommodating and breakfast delicious! The house/hotel itself is one of the most beautiful places Ive ever seen!! The grounds are relaxing and include swimming pool!!! Highly recommend this place.

Nothing it was perfect

This beautiful house with fabulous gardens is like a dream. It is extraordinary and while it is rather grand still manages to feel homely. I absolutely love it. The staff are wonderful too. I had a technical issue with my phone which as a hiker on the Caminho had become rather vital. All the people did their utmost to help and the problem was solved. It’s fantastic!!

OMG. Fantastic place. Cristina was divine. She gave us a guided tour and history of the hotel. It's like staying in a perfectly preserved museum. Pool was amazing. The grounds are gorgeous with seating options throughout under trees I shady areas. You have to go up to the tower, the views are sensational. They have an honesty bar in the cellar. The breakfast is better than most large hotels. 10/10

La visita guiada muy bien la historia llena de encanto . El brunch muy rico todo y se nota que está hecho con cariño, las mesas muy bien puestas y es un placer comer y desayunar en ese comedor. La habitacion que nos tocó bien, sabanas agradables y colchón cómodo,.El baño amplio . Lo peor es que no tienen aire acondicionado ni ventiladores en las habitaciones y no pudimos dormir casi nada.Si abres las ventanas entraba el calor y mosquitos así que creo que es un tema que deben de solucionar.

De tudo! É um espaço mágico, lindíssimo! Com um encanto que nos seduz através das palavras e sorriso da encantadora Susana!! Um pequeno almoço delicioso e completo! Uma piscina e jardim muito bonitos! Sentimo-nos dentro de uma história de amor!

Só faltou o ar condicionado, num dia com temperaturas muito altas. Uma televisão no quarto também seria bom!!

Absolutely amazing property. Beautifully restored, a joy to stay in. Everything has been thought of to make your stay a memorable one. Definitely climb the tower for spectacular views. If you are doing the coastal Camino it is a 40minute walk from Caminha or a 5 euro taxi journey. It is on the linking Camino between the coastal and central routes.

What an original place to stay. Spent 3 nights here. The heritage details, the furniture, the location close to Caminha, the home baked breakfast, the staff, the gardens, the pool...I could go on and on. Wonderful place. Can't wait to go back.

This is my second time visiting. I love it. After a day walking the Camino this was the perfect place to relax. A refreshing dip in the pool help to ease weary legs. And being offered little ice creams while resting by the pool was so nice. Amazing staff - dreamy beds. Excellent shower - great power. Had a gorgeous breakfast the next morning before setting off on Camino again

If breakfast could be earlier it would be perfect. Breakfast starts at 8.30am which is kind of late for Camino guests like me who prefer to start walking around 8am. A breakfast start closer to 7 or 7.30 would be perfect.

Beautiful old house, well looked after and loved. Wonderful to see all the original ceilings and to hear about the history of its house and its owners. Quite a privilege to be able to stay and to be given free rein to explore the house. It was fun to climb the spiral staircase in the tower for great views. Very friendly staff and a delicious breakfast. We enjoyed the cold tapas/picnic meal box option in the cellar in the evening. A lovely novel treat and very memorable.

Outside town, but easy and cheap with an uber, especially if you have tired feet like we did after walking the Camino.

Hands down the best place to stay in the area, maybe the best in all Portugal. The villa is from 1911 with a beautiful history behind it. It feels like you’re staying in a museum. Everything inside is authentic, original furniture and decor. There’s only 6 rooms, each one done very beautifully. The garden was a wonderful place for a relaxing afternoon chill session with wine. The host, Julia, was very welcoming and helpful. Wish I had more time to spend there

Los anfitriones fueron súper atentos y amables en todo momento, haciéndonos sentir como en casa. Además, el desayuno estaba muy bien, con productos ricos y todo muy cuidado. Sin duda, un sitio especial al que merece la pena volver.

Televisión en habitación

We had 3 rooms at this property as we were 4 friends walking the Litoral Route of the Portuguese Camino. This place is really special, and our only regret is that we didn't have more time to spend here. I would have loved to enjoy a glass of wine or beer from the tower with a view of the sunset and sea. Our rooms and bathrooms were huge. We were very lucky that we had run of the house--we were the only people with a reservation the night we stayed. After dinner, we came back and enjoyed wine in the cellar. During the day, we enjoyed the pool. The grounds are really beautiful and well maintained. Breakfast was varied and set up beautifully in the breakfast area.

Lo que más nos gustó fue el buen gusto y la sensibilidad de los dueños al conservar la casa y transmitir su historia. La Villa es preciosa, pero lo que le confiere un encanto especial son las explicaciones de Susana y el trato que recibimos. Nos sentimos como en casa!

Breakfast buffet had a good range of options. Location is 3km from Caminha central. Nearby restaurant options limited on a Monday night (day off for many). Historical hotel, well preserved, good for people looking for historical experience. Several social spaces and view tower. Self help bar had several options. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Eine wundervolle Türmchenvilla. Alles ist sehr stilvoll eingerichtet und man möchte das Zimmer, respektive das Haus, fast nicht verlassen. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und hat uns das ganze Haus bei der Ankunft gezeigt. Besonders gemütlich fand ich den alten „Weinkeller“ in welchem sich man mit Getränken bedienen konnte und einfach am Ende mitteilen konnte, was man konsumiert hat. Auch der wunderschön gepflegte Garten lädt zum verweilen ein.

Es war ein Träumchen in diesem wundervollem Schlößchen. So liebevoll im Stil der Entstehungszeit 1911 restauriert. Die Inhaberin Susana hat uns die Geschichte des Hauses erzählt und sich rührend gekümmert. Ganz toller Garten, kleiner Pool, super Frühstück und in der Bodega kann man sich einen Vino holen und ihn auf dem tollen Anwesen genießen. Gut per Zug erreichbar.

Eine hervorragende 11/10. Alles an den zwei Tagen war perfekt. Eine wunderschöne Villa, mit vielen liebevollen Details. Das Frühstück und der Service ein Traum. Der parkähnliche Garten eine Oase zum Wohlfühlen. Vielen lieben Dank. Wir haben uns ein bisschen wie in "Downton Abbey" gefühlt.

O palecete é muito bonito e está bem preservado. A subida à torre é especial pelo contexto e vistas ótimas. Ficámos num dos quartos do res do chão e por isso sem o pé direito tipico destas casas. Os do primeiro andar devem ser mais especiais. Mas o quarto era grande e confortável. O pequeno almoço estava ótimo e é servido numa sala muito especial. Os donos sao simpáticos.

Fomos muito bem recebidos pela Susana e restantes funcionários; todos super simpáticos. O espaço é lindíssimo, muito bem conservado e com uma ótima decoração. O quarto em que ficamos "Lolitta" é um autêntico spa. O pequeno almoço é muito saboroso, com produtos diferentes dos habituais pequenos almoços de hotel.

Everything was great!

Desde el check-in al momento de marchar, todo fue inmejorable en nuestra estancia en Villa Idalina. Si este maravilloso palacete indiano impone desde fuera, verlo por dentro y pasear por sus jardines es una experiencia de otro nivel. Nada más llegar, Susana nos enseñó cada rincón, que no podíamos hacer más que admirar. Estética (inmejorable) al margen, como alojamiento tampoco defrauda; las habitaciones, preciosas y muy limpias, con baño amplio y techos altos. El desayuno impresionante también, con repostería casera, fruta, embutidos, quesos, zumo natural... de todo y todo buenísimo y de calidad. La ubicación también es ideal para explorar la zona, tanto en coche como a pie o en bicicleta. Nuestra experiencia en Villa Idalina ha superado con creces todas nuestras expectativas (¡que ya eran altas!)

De palacete is een juwel, zeker de moeite waard om te overnachten. De personeel en de eigenaresse, zijn erg vriendelijk. De ontbijtbuffet verdien een 10.

De hotel ligt naast een drukke weg. De trappen in de gang kraakken omdat van hout zijn.

A simpatia da Susana e do Andres fazem-nos sentir em casa. É um local que nos transporta para o início do séc. XX, onde podemos descansar com o máximo conforto.

O pequeno almoço desiludiu. Espera mais devido às publicações que sempre fazem. Só tinham um tipo de pão. Sem ovos. Sem mel, tivemos de pedir. Tinham apenas disponível umas 6 fatias de bolo de duas qualidades (3 de cada) muito seco. Fui também pelo pequeno almoço e fiquei frustada com a experiência.

Charming and historic property with plenty of character and charm. We loved the vaulted 20’ ceilings and the cocktail lounge converted from wine production. The 360° view from the tower was spectacular. Great place for sunset with a glass of wine or to be amazed by the riverside views.
