MOUNT BARKER

Just an all around amazing place, the hosts Gillian and Paschal were the nicest and most accommodating. Everything was clean and spacious. They have a really nice and unique set up for each guest in the kitchen. For someone who really just wanted to wind down for the last couple days of my trip after backpacking part of Ireland, it was the perfect place.

Absolutely beautiful and cleanliness off the charts!! Management/owners were wonderful and so, so helpful for first time visitors to Ireland. We love that it was far enough outside of the urban areas to provide a quiet retreat.. but a reaonable distance from downtown via car or bus. The shared kitchen was pristine and a beautiful selection of breakfast items provided in separate designated refrigerators for each room. Just lovely all the way around!

There was nothing not to like!

Self-service breakfast, with a spacious, well-equipped kitchen. The host provided us with a private refrigerator (one per room) containing everything we needed to make our own breakfast. We stayed for three nights to visit Dublin. We took the train from Malahide (a 15-minute drive from the B&B) to Tara Street. Very convenient. The room was very spacious and quiet, with comfortable beds and a spacious, comfortable bathroom. Highly recommended.

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit einer perfekten Ausstattung, sehr gemütlich und komfortabel. Das System, in dem man die Küche benutzen durfte und Frühstückszutaten zur Verfügung gestellt bekam hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Gillian und Paschal waren sehr sehr nett.

Lediglich die Ausfahrt auf die Straße erfordert höchste Aufmerksamkeit

La casa está decorada con total esmero, creando un ambiente muy acogedor.Esta ubicada fuera de cualquier población, pero cerca de Swords, obteniendo un plus de desconexión con el ruido de la ciudad. Los anfitriones, están a tu disposición para cualquier consulta, eso sí, solo hablan ingles. Tuvieron un gran detalle, viajábamos en pareja, y dejaron que durmiera con nosotros a nuestra hija que vive en Dublín.

Excellent location, close to Dublin airport. Wonderful accommodations, private room and bath with shared lounge and shared modern kitchen facilities. Exceptionally clean. Guests have their own fridge and cupboard area to cook and store their own food. Lovely hosts. Highly recommend!

Spacious rooms with private outdoor area, large well equipped kitchen and Diningroom. Breakfast foods supplied were perfect. Felt like home, owners were friendly and welcoming

Close to busy road but not noisy.

Gillian and Paschal were so welcoming and happy to chat with us. We felt very comfortable and enjoyed some rest and short drives to the beaches.

Breakfast was self service very nice and we enjoyed it.

Overall there wasn't anything.,we weren't happy with and we would highly recommend a stay there.

The area was so beautiful and refreshing! I honestly wish we had longer to stay. The staff were fantastic. Got us extra amenities when we asked.

We had such a wonderful stay! The place was incredibly cozy, peaceful, and comfortable. Everything was very thoughtfully arranged, and we had absolutely everything we needed during our stay. From the very beginning, we genuinely felt at home. It was the perfect place to spend two relaxing days away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin before continuing our journey around Ireland. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for such a lovely experience. We would be very happy to stay here again! ❤️

We didn't get to spend a lot of time at the facility due to our busy schedule, but everything at Mount Barker was as shown in photographs. Gillian was there with a friendly greeting when we arrived in the evening. This facility is well thought out and organized (lockbox for the keys, side entrance, box for shoes [no shoes on the carpets], refrigerator in the common kitchen for each room). Breakfast is done differently from any other B&B in which we stayed. The items for breakfast are provided, and you make your own in the common kitchen. All utensils, cookware, bowls, plates, etc. you need are in the kitchen. There is a very nice sitting area with tables for eating. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is excellent for access to Dublin Airport. To visit Dublin, we took a commuter train from Malahide (which is about 15 minutes from Mount Barker) into Dublin to avoid Dublin traffic and parking - worked very nicely.

A cooked breakfast and laid out breakfast spread such we encountered as at other B&Bs would have been nice, but the system used at Mount Barker worked well.

Wir hatten einen sehr entspannten Aufenthalt. Sehr schöne große saubere Zimmer und die Idee mit den Kühlschränken für jedes Zimmer ist einfach super . Man kann frühstücken wann man will und auch die Auswahl ist super . Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich .

A clever b&b concept with central kitchen and dining area. Apparently six bedrooms, and ours, number four was twin bed as requested. Spotlessly clean throughout, and exceptionally well equipped. Gillian and Paschal are attentive and obliging hosts. Can’t ask for more!

Ideally, placed for commuting into Dublin city, one minute from the M1, the only slight drawback being an exit onto a road which is busy ar times and driven too fast.

Absolutely loved this place. If I'm ever back id 100% be back. The owners were so lovely and. In the kitchen it even came with your own fridge, which comes full which is a bonus too

Loved everything not a bad word to say.

Mycket fint och rymligt rum. Fantastiskt värdpar som var mycket tillmötesgående och hjälpsamma. Väldigt rent och en mycket trivsam och fridfull atmosfär i gemensamma utrymmen. Bra utrustat kök och ett eget kylskåp laddat med frukost för alla våra dagar där.

Fanns inte mycket att klaga på. Bara några saker … Läget inte det bästa för oss som inte hade egen bil. Vi fick dock hjälp av Gillian och Paschal med både skjuts och tips på busslinjer och taxibokning. Sängen troligen bara 190 cm, en aning kort för mig som är 187 cm lång.

Amazing stay. Mount barker is an exceptional place to stay. So clean and comfortable. Large bedroom and super comfy bed. Loved the stocked fridge and make your own breakfast concept. We didn’t have a car but that wasn’t an issue. The bus into Dublin was a couple of minutes walk. The local garden centre did great coffee. Easily accessible to get wherever you want to adventure too on the local train. Gillian and Paschal were fantastic hosts. Went above and beyond with everything thanks so much. Lou and Ali

The house was amazing, with every detail designed for a great experience. The breakfast, house and book with all the information regarding Dublin. The owners are really sweet and helpful!

The house was very pretty,the room was comfortable and kitchen was fully equipped.

Was a lovely quiet stay. Breakfast was delightful, private and luxurious.

The driveway was very close to roundabout and road.

Super clean! I need to repack my 2 suitcases for going home and had lots of room to repack and felt good putting my packing cubes on the floor. Only about 15 minutes and an easy drive by car to lots of restaurants in Swords.

Mount Barker è una struttura molto accogliente e graziosa. Ci aveva colpiti fin dalle foto e, una volta arrivati, le aspettative sono state pienamente confermate. La posizione è ottima, soprattutto per la vicinanza all’aeroporto, che ci ha permesso di organizzare il rientro con tranquillità e senza alcuna corsa. I proprietari sono stati davvero gentili e cordiali. Una mattina, mentre facevamo colazione, si è verificato un piccolo guasto alla lavastoviglie, una cosa che può capitare tranquillamente. Nel giro di poco tempo è arrivato un tecnico che ha risolto il problema, senza che la situazione ci arrecasse alcun disturbo. Nonostante questo, i proprietari hanno voluto scusarsi facendoci trovare a sorpresa una bottiglia di Prosecco: un gesto molto apprezzato, gentile e assolutamente non dovuto. È stata davvero la ciliegina sulla torta di un soggiorno molto piacevole.

Wonderful stay! Large, comfortable and well-appointed room with very comfortable bed. Gillian was a perfect host -- very welcoming and happy to help in any way. Great location if you want to be out of the city and in the countryside -- yet within easy reach of the M1 motorway. Express buses to Dublin from bus stop round the corner.

Vse bylo dokonale. Uzasni majitele, usmevavi, napomocni, ochotni, pecujici. Ciste krasne prostory. Snidane k dispozici. Skvela prostorna kuchyn a jidelna. V blizkosti letiste - autem 7 minut. Parking bez problemu. Do centra Dublinu jede linkovy bus temer hodinu, ale stavi kousek od domu. Nebo jede Swords express cca 20 min a odtud taxi za 10 EUR k domu. I v noci bez problemu casto. Urcite bychom se sem vratili, pokud bychom znovu jeli do Irska.

Chambre et salle de bain dignes d'un bel hôtel en terme de confort et d'espace. Cuisine bien équipée et aliments pour petit déjeuner généreux. Gillian est aux petits soins pour ses hôtes. Je recommande vivement !

Gillian is a great host, a beautiful bedroom, lovely bathroom, just remember the motorway is close by.

The room was spotless. The location is great. Very easy to get restraunts etc. The location made car return at the airport easy. Just a 10 minute drive.

It's a little tricky pulling in and out of the property because of traffic and limited sight.

Very convenient to everything yet quiet and peaceful. Great for an extended stay. Beautiful room. Comfy bed. Modern bathroom. Easy trip to the airport.

Stunning property, and great facilities. The hosts could not have been more accommodating and helpful. Thought the use of the kitchen with our breakfast bits was a nice touch.

My one gripe is no curtains on the windows, and annoyingly I am someone who wakes as soon as it gets light so it meant no lay ins for me. Bring an eye mask if you are the same! It didn’t detract from the wonderful room though.

👌 Perfectly located north of Dublin and the airport. Lovely hosts and loads of provisions for breakfast. Beautifully presented rooms and bathrooms.

Be aware that the entrance of the property is not far from the exit off the motorway and if it's dark it is quite difficult to see.

We liked the flexibility afforded by preparing our own breakfast -- great shared kitchen facilities, and the eggs were amazing! Rooms and common areas both very comfortable.

Struttura bellissima. Sembra davvero di essere a casa propria. Gillian è stata gentilissima nonostante non siamo riuscite a vederci per i nostri orari scomodi, si è resa disponibile nel caso in cui avessimo bisogno di qualcosa. This property was beautiful, peaceful and verrryyy clean. Mrs. Gillian and Mr. Paschal where the best hosts we've ever had, and they took good care of us. They went above and beyond our expectations! Sweetest couple!!! Breakfast items are provided, and the kitchen/dining room area were beautiful as well.

Amazing hosts, fridges are stocked with breakfast items, the property is tidy, clean, and peaceful. Paschal & Gillian are fantastic hosts and truly go out of their way to make your stay more welcoming and comfortable.

We loved our stay, and will return whenever possible. The room, accommodation, and grounds are beautiful, exceptionally well cared for and clean, and the hosts Gillian and Paschal are exceptional hosts that go out of their way to make your stay memorable. Freshly laid eggs for breakfast in the morning, with a well stocked personal fridge for each room, a kitchen with everything you could ever need to make a meal, and and a cafe style dining room to enjoy those meals in. The beds provided an amazing sleep each night, plenty of spots to relax or hangout, inside and out, and situated very close to a small town with everything you could need or want, including some exceptional restaurants, cafes and pubs. Thank you SO much Gillian and Paschal for an amazing stay, and we'll see you in February 2026!

The accommodation itself is spotless — truly one of the cleanest and most comfortable places we’ve ever stayed. We especially loved the “make your own breakfast” concept. The fridge was stocked with a fantastic selection of fresh and delicious ingredients, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely morning at our own pace. We left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you, Gillian, for creating such a warm and memorable experience. We can’t wait to come back!

Es ist mit sehr viel Liebe eingerichtet und die Vermieterin ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit.

とても可愛いらしい建物です！靴を脱いで入るので、日本みたいに新鮮でした。 キッチンは共用ですが、十分に器具やお皿等が揃っていて、調味料も用意されていました。キッチンにある部屋ごとの冷蔵庫には、パン、卵やヨーグルトなどが入っていて、自由に使うことができました。オーナーも親切で、とてもフレンドリーでした。2泊しかしなかったのが残念。

This will be our go-to place in the future for the last few days of any trip to Ireland. It's 10-15 minutes to the car rental return at the Dublin airport and it could not have been a more luxurious retreat for our last few days in the country. The host was exceedingly nice and there was everything we could think to need. We had our own refrigerator in the kitchen, and it was stocked with everything we needed for a wonderful breakfast. And the kitchen itself was well stocked with equipment for cooking meals. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom and shower were exceptional, the room was spacious with an eating area and an outdoor terrace. We didn't get an opportunity to go back into Dublin this trip, but it looked like there were several mass transit options to do so just a short distance away, and the host was very helpful and knowledgeable there as well. Also close to shopping and dining in Swords, and there was a great farm market literally just a few hundred feet down the road. We picked it because of proximity to the airport, but it would be a great base for exploring Dublin and the Boyne region.

I wish we had stayed here on our previous trip 2 years ago instead of where we did stay! It was a little nerve wracking turning right out of the property because it's a busy road with limited visibility but the morning we checked out we actually had no problems getting out.

This is a really nice place, but it is located on a very busy road. It wasn’t a problem for us and we ended up liking the “do it yourself” approach to breakfast. There’s also lots of really nice commons space in the house.

Sehr schönes großes Zimmer, sehr komfortabel, bequeme Betten, super ausgestattete Küche, netter Essensraum, netter kleiner Aussenbereich, sehr freundliche Begrüßung. Ganz nah an der Autobahn, dadurch aussen etwas Verkehrslärm, etwas tricky Ausfahrt. Insgesamt aber hervorragend.

Prachtig verblijf, aardige gastheer en gastvrouw. Mooi ingerichte kamers, zeer compleet. Gezamenlijke keuken, van alle gemakken en apparatuur voorzien. Veel sfeer in de ruimtes door planten en muurdecoratie. Helaas is de locatie gelegen bij drukke wegen. Daar heb je binnen geen last van maar buiten zitten is niet prettig.

Booked a "King Room with garden view." Stated in description King size bed. Bed was actually a queen size. Not hugely important, not enough to detract from how great everything else was but, my husband is 6'6" tall and a king bed is more comfortable for us. Otherwise, wonderful!

Beautiful spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed. The bonus was the 10 minute drive to drop off rental car at airport.

Lovely accomodation. Easy access to Dublin but in quieter rural location, close to Swords town. Rooms were beautiful with access to kitchen amenities for help yourself breakfast, anytime. Hosts were friendly and helpful, even helping out with lift into Swords town.
