Top Lage direkt an einem ruhigen Strandabschnitt.

Das Essen war maximal mittelmässig; auf das Mittag- oder Abendessen wartete man ewig, obwohl praktisch keine Gäste da waren. Die Strandliegen/Sonnenschirme wurden nicht parat gemacht, die Zimmer nur dann geputzt, wenn man explizit nachfragte. Auch für neues Toilettenpapier/frische Handtüchet musste man immer nachfragen. Personal wirkte sehr unmotiviert, der Besitzer arrogant. Der Abfall vom Abfeuern des Neujahrsfeuerwerks durch die Besitzerfamilie/Personal lag auch noch drei Tage danach zwischen den Liegestühlen am Strand. Es fühlte sich niemand berufen, den selbst verursachten Abfall direkt vor dem Hotel wieder aufzuräumen. Und dies, obwohl nur gerade drei der insgesamt 9 Zimmer belegt waren. Dann war da noch ein Hund bei der Rezeption, eingesperrt in einem Käfig, nicht grösser als ein halber Quadratmeter, der nie raus konnte und in seinem eigenen Kot lag, was extrem unangenehm roch. Achtung: nur Barzahlung! Auf Karten werden 3 Prozent Zuschlag erhoben, was wir so noch in keinem Hotrl hier erlebt haben. Der von uns beim Besitzer angefragte Taxiservice nach Negombo war preislich total überrissen. Wir haben schliesslich beim Nachbarhotel wesentlich günstiger bei gleicher Leistung gebucht. Fühlten uns vom Besitzer verarscht. Insgesamt kann man sagen, dass die Lage top ist, dass wir uns aber nicht willkommen fühlten und der Service wirklich lausig ist. Ich würde nicht wieder buchen, zumal es am gleichen Strandabschnitt weitere und bestimmt freundlichere Unterkünfte gibt, so wie wir das in den letzten zwei Wochen Sri Lanka sonst durchgehend erlebt haben.

Hotel was fantastic with a wonderful family atmosphere. Breakfast was fresh and the coffee was good. Only small little gripe would be too move the Aircon as in current configuration with 2 beds in room one bed gets fool Aircon and the other not much at all. Problem could also be solved with some warmer blankets for the first bed. Otherwise everything was wonderful. Roshan and his family and staff were wonderful hosts.

Rett på stranden litt utenfor sentrum. Rolig og avslappet atmosfære. God frokost. God service, eieren ordnet med hvalsafari tur og taxi til min neste destinasjon for meg.

A very quiet place directly on the beach.

I had a wonderful stay with my family at this hotel. The hotel was spotless, beautifully maintained, and located in a great area with a private beach. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The host was very friendly and responsive, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. .The host is able to organize the Whales Watching, the Fishing tour and others activities such as Diving or Snorkeking with a very reasonable price. Don't need to look for a travel agency or others agents for the tour. We truly felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout my stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and pleasant experience.

Everything was absolutely PERFECT

Directement sur la plage, du côté calme et magnifique de Weligama. Les chambres sont de bonne taille et la literie est bonne. Chaque chambre a une vue sur la mer. Ah oui, le petit dej les pieds dans le sable, c'est le paradis ! Planches de surf disponibles, c'est top !

La salle de bain n'est pas la plus agréable, mais rien de catastrophique. Les repas un peu en dessous de nos autres hôtels.

Классный отель. новые номера, каждый номер был с чудным видом на океан. Территория отеля и пляж выглядели наяву гораздо лучше и симпатичней, чем на фото. Очень уютная и чистая территория, каждый день работники отеля тщательно убирали и территорию и пляж при отеле. Семья, которая владеет этим мини отелем, печется о своих гостях и репутацию, поэтому всегда шли на встречу каким-то нашим пожеланиям. Недалеко от пляжа есть устье реки, где можно порыбачить.

Надо обновить фото на букинге, территория отеля гораздо зеленее и романтичнее, чем на фото. Медленный интернет в номерах, но был и пляжный wi Fi, который был лучше.

Weve been here 2 nights and wanted to stay more, the whole staff was really amazing, and the food was great. The beach is nice and quit. Would defenately like to come back again!

If you want a chilled out place which is a little further away from the crowds, this is it. Really friendly staff, courteous and could not do enough for you. Rooms were spacious with a lovely balcony looking out at the sea.

His warmth, honesty, and calm presence made us feel completely at home. He arranged everything for us effortlessly - from surfing lessons and whale watching to a Galle visit and snorkeling with sea turtles, all with genuine care and zero stress. This place isn’t just a stay, it’s an experience. We left feeling deeply cared for and truly recharged.

L’emplacement sur la plage et les repas les pieds dans le sable, l’accueil des propriétaires alors que nous avons réservé 30 mn avant notre arrivée, la sensation d’être sur une plage déserte et les très bons petits déjeuners. L’hôtel est simple mais son voisin a une piscine dont vous pouvez bénéficier en consommant une boisson ou un repas, et des endroits plus aménagés pour dîner ( avec piscine, ambiance musicale, billard et nourriture occidentalisée) sont à 20 mn à pied par la plage, très belle ballade. Location de surfs pour 1000 rps / heure.

A family run property and they make you their family as well. Very well maintained and very nicely kept. Bang on the beach. Keep it as on first option.

distance from the "down-town" (why? actually we were surprised how low-crowded are the place we visited in Sri Lanka. Originally we booked placed a bit distant, but knowing the situation I would not be affraid looking for places closer to the town)

Stunning hotel on the beach front in Modara between Weligama (5mins tuk tuk/ 30min walk) and Mirissa (5-10min tuk tuk). Really friendly people and so good to walk out the room straight on the beach. The beach isn’t crowded unlike Weligama so you get it to yourself. You can still surf, sunbathe, SUP and swim here too. Rooms were large, spacious and clean with good AirCon too. Hot showers and large beds. Little balcony to chill on in the evenings under the palm trees. Really is a beautiful place and it was a shame to have to leave. The owner was very helpful and welcoming offering tips and helped us out at the last minute when our taxi cancelled. Thank you!

The food / drink service is a little slow but the boys are all really friendly and when you’re on the beach it’s very relaxed still.

Location is superb! Absolutely beautiful views out onto quiet end of beach. Better for those wanting to be away from busy surfing end. Staff were friendly and helpful. Organised us some trips to spice farm and whale watching. Rooms were large and comfortable. Had a great view out onto garden and sea from balcony. 30 min walk along beach/ short tuk tuk ride into centre of Weligama. Close to Mirissa too. Good value for money. Would definitely recommend. We booked for 3 nights but ended up extending our stay by another 2 nights ...and weren't the only ones to do so.

Lovely room, but small water leak.

Amazing property for a quiet & relaxing stay. We regret not staying longer as this resort exceeded our expectations! Staff is super friendly and really helpful. Rooms are spacious, quiet and clean. The sound of the waves will give you a relaxing and restorative sleep! Food is delicious, we tried different dishes and all were tasty! Any extra activity can be arranged by the staff. The beach is clean and quiet, you are away from the surfers crowds and can swim freely. Definitely a place we highly recommend for your next stay!

Location was better than expected as the hotel is located at a quieter part of Weligama beach compared to the part that is more central. The more central parts of Weligama are just a walk away on the beach or a short ride with a Tuktuk. The hotel is also close to Merissa, so you can easily get the experience from both places. This hotel is run by Roshan and his family and staff. They all aim at making the stay as good as it possibly can be. Offering drives to Merissa or train-station or other locations, etc. We spent a week in this lovely hotel with its beautiful garden and nice beach in front of the hotel. The hotel rooms are nice and clean, breakfast is good and a very nice and welcoming atmosphere created by family and staff. We also had most dinners in the restaurant that the hotel has on the beach for hotel guest and anyone else passing by and it suited us very well and the food was traditional Sri Lankan food. I can really recommend this lovely hotel if you are looking for a peaceful stay in a very nice environment.

Excellent secluded location away from crowded beaches, perfect for beginners to learn the basics of surfing.

Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was basic but nice. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice pretty garden and lovely beach view.

I expected yoga classes as advertised and location was abit too far from town. I also did not realise it did not have swimming pool.

fantastic beach front location. all rooms have balcony's facing sea. located at quieter end of bay away from the big Marriot. only 10 mins or £1ish in a tuk tuk to Mirrisa which is worth going to too. lots of opportunities to get surf lessons and hire boards all along Weligama beach which is perfect for beginners. 2 miles or a cheap tuk tuk ride to Weligama town centre too which seemed like a backpackers destination with very cheap (and good) eating places.

The owner Roshan and his staff went out their way to make our stay great as they did for all the visitors booked in.I asked if he could arrange a fridge for our room and that I would gladly pay extra for it.Roshan went out and brought a new fridge for us and refuse to charge anything extra well done on customer service.

We were really happy with our stay. The staff was very helpful, breakfast was good. Beach was very calm and relaxing.

Fabulous hotel directly on the beach inbetween Welligama and Mirrissa, perfect for being close to the towns but staying somewhere calmer. Room felt newly refurbished, big bed, clean, hot water in the shower, balcony with sea view. Staff were very helpful, they welcomed you into the family. Sun beds and parasol on the beach for you to use and the hotel bar if you want a drink while sat there. Restaurants close by you can walk to or take a Tuktuk into town. Easy check in and out. Would 100% recommend.

This place is a gem. Located just outside the bustling city center in a quiet neighborhood, it offers a peaceful retreat. Restaurants are just a short walk away. The beachfront location is unbeatable: Watching the sunsets over Weligama Bay was truly magical. There's a bar, restaurant, and surf rental right on the beach. You can even take surf lessons. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. The best part: The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. Highly recommended! If you're looking for a relaxing beach vacation, this is the place to be.

Our recent stay at this hotel was, unfortunately, a big disappointment. We visited in the off-season, and it seemed that they weren’t prepared to welcome guests, which was surprising since we had booked well in advance. First and foremost, the beach in front of the hotel was a letdown. It was littered with trash to the extent that it was impossible to enjoy. What baffled us most was that the hotel staff didn’t make an effort to clean up the area. We ended up having to leave the hotel and go elsewhere to enjoy the beach, which really defeats the purpose of staying at a beachside hotel. The staff, while polite, seemed very inexperienced and untrained. We had to repeat orders multiple times because they either forgot or didn’t understand the requests, which became frustrating. It felt like the staff were not professionals, which impacted the overall service and hospitality.

The family room was a perfect size for us. The hotel is located right on the beach, and you can swim In the ocean or go next door and order a couple of beers from the bar and use their pool. Central Weligama & Marissa are only a short tuk tuk ride away.

It is practically on the beach (shoes for going for breakfast are not needed), calm surrounding and very kind staff! There is one cute (quiet and always sleepy) dog on the property :)

Amazing beachfront rooms, could wake up in the morning and go for a swim along the beach! Good morning breakfasts. Lovely hosts, that looked after all our needs. Nice local restaurant in the hotel, and also another one nearby. The owner was a tour guide and knew a lot about Sri Lanka. Also very genuine and trustworthy. They also rented out surf boards at a good rate, and was very handy because there were some small rideable waves right in front of the hotel - perfect for a long board. The beach area in front of the hotel was perfect for small children to play in also.

The outdoor lights for the balcony were a bit bright , but the friendly staff switched them off for us and we had the right level of ambience

- Beautifully landscaped garden facing the beach - Beach virtually private beach with loungers - Clean room - nice personel - the accommodation is a bit quieter, in Weligama itself there is a lot going on on the beach and there are higher waves, so there are a lot of surfers in the water, here in the beach resort it is much quieter, therefore much more suitable for families with small children than directly on the beach

- Clean and good hotel room for Sri Lanka, but not comparable with European rooms, despite the very high price for Sri Lanka of ~70€ per night - Officially it was breakfast from 8 a.m., but despite announcing the day before that we wanted to have breakfast as early as possible, we had to wait until 9 a.m.... that was a bit annoying because of the time wasted - We were initially told that after 3 days the room would be cleaned, the towels changed, fresh water etc. brought, but this did not happen. Without the announcement, this wouldn't have bothered us any further. -We had booked with breakfast and when we wanted water at breakfast we were charged extra for the bottle, which we found a bit unreasonable

Perfect Location right at the beachfront. Not too busy area in between Weligama downtown and Mirissa. Some very good foodplaces in walking distance. You can rent a surfboard if you want. We stayed even one Night longer than planned because of the relaxed atmosphere. They serve Sri Lankan and English Breakfast. The owner offered us a fresh fish at the evening for dinner, which was great.

The pillow smelled a little weired, like it got wet before. The dogs around were very loud, barking at the Nightime. Beside this everything was fine.

Amazing location directly by the beach. Very calm, clean with a beautiful view over the sea. You feel private at the beach. It’s located between very busy Weligama and Mirissa. So it’s the perfect hide out. The staff is amazing, very nice, friendly and especially open for families since it’s family owned. They prepare really good food and drinks, they do bbqs and bonfires. They even had baby turtles when we stayed there. They are very protective of the environment and make sure that everything is well taken care of. It’s just perfect if you love a good beach holiday close to the city. And it’s very good for surfing!

Great price/value ratio! Comfortable room with A/C and hot water. Super cozy beach without people just in front of the hotel. Still very easy to get to Weligama center (20 min walk by the seashore or 3 min by tuk-tuk). Great and friendly staff, that gives enough attention to every guest and always ready to help. Initially we intended to stay for 1 week, but prolonged our stay for an extra week and enjoyed every day of our vacation:)

Wi-fi was not working in the room, but we got local sim-cards in the airport so we didn't need it. Also would be great to add some shower gels and shampoos to the room :)

Relax Beach Resort is one of the best hotels I have ever been to! Hotel: Very clean and modern. It's freshly built and we were the first guests staying in our rooms. Rooms are clean and nicely designed and every room has a beautiful ocean view. The people working here put in a really lot of love and energy, which makes this place very lovely. Food: Every day you get only fresh food from local (not touristic) market. It's very tasty, fresh, and healthy. Breakfast is until 11:30. Good and variable menu. They even cook fresh soups, if you want, and have a good choice of dishes. Service: Great service, very helpful team, and owner. Roshan (the owner) organized good tours for the fairest prices and shows really amazing things, you won't be able to see with other guides. The tour car is comfortable and big. You can also rent your own tuc-tuc in the hotel. Also, there is a small surf school with its own surfboards in the hotel. Roshan organized a beautiful Bonfire on the beach at night, with music and singing. It was amazing! Environment: Roshan is the only local, that heavily supports plastic/waist reduction. He uses wooden furniture instead of plastic, as an example. He also fights for clean beaches and recycling and thanks to his efforts, the garbage collection in Weligama developed a lot. He supported me very well and helped me when I needed it. I recommend this place because it's a developed hotel with great service and lovely and helpful people with respect for their guests and environment.
