An amazing stay near Drakensberg with a perfect view, birds saying good morning, lovely staff and delicious food.

Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön eingerichtet und bietet eine atemberaubende Aussicht. Man kann Frühstück und Abendessen dazu buchen, welches einem dann auf das Zimmer gebracht wird. Da in der Nähe kein Supermarkt ist kann man vor Ort auch Getränke kaufen, was uns gut gefallen hat. Man könnte in der Unterkunft sogar kochen, da die Küche super ausgestattet ist. In der Nähe befindet sich eine Pizzeria, welche sogar liefert (nur bis 18 Uhr). Zum Royal Natal Nationalpark ist es circa eine halbe Stunde Fahrtzeit. Das Personal ist wirklich nett und hilfsbereit.

Eher ein Hinweis; die Unterkunft befindet sich circa 3 km von der Hauptstraße entfernt und es führt nur ein etwas holpriger Schotterweg dorthin, welcher an manchen Stellen etwas steiler ist. In der Nähe befindet außer der schönen Natur so gut wie nichts. Das hat uns sehr gut gefallen, sollte man aber vorher wissen. Zur Zeit unseres Aufenthaltes war in dem Pool kein Wasser, worüber wir nicht informiert wurden.

Beautiful unit no 10 breathtaking views

Very easy book in. Food was great and simplified packing, ordering and choices.

From check in the staff was fantastic, helpful and accommodating. The breathtaking views, the absolute peace and fresh mountain air. Beds were comfy, warm showers, options for breakfast and dinner on the property or self catering, sunset viewing point and several activities around the property.

Tolle Lage, sehr schön eingerichtete Cottages mit Stil und ausreichend Platz. Anlage insgesamt toll. Wir haben das Abendessen zusätzlich gebucht, auch das war sehr lecker.

Ist nicht ganz günstig, sonst nichts auszusetzen.

Très belle vue et cottages bien décorés et spacieux. Propriétaires prêts à échanger et personnel très gentil. Très bons petits déjeuners. Comme nous étions 5 dans 3 cottages, on a apprécié de pouvoir prendre nos repas ensemble dans une salle commune. Nous avons aussi apprécié qu'il y ait des chemins balisés sur le domaine: on a pu faire une balade de 3 heures sans faire le tour ! Et en voyant des animaux (zèbres, elands)

Les poeles des chambres ne sont pas assez efficaces par grand froid. Les diners sont inconstants et un peu "simples" à ce niveau de prix. Le chauffage d'appoint de la salle de bain ne fonctionnait pas

Berghouse and Cottages is the perfect place to retreat and find yourself. This has become my annual venue of choice for renewal. Everything about it is simply perfect and the view reminds you of how majestic nature is.

Sehr schöne cottages mitten in den Bergen! Traumhaft schöner Ausblick!! Miniponies im Garten, reiten auf Pferden! Sehr gutes Frühstück!!! Super Lage um Wanderungen im Royal Natal Nationalpark zu machen!

Es war sehr kalt und das Kinderzimmer wurde leider gar nicht warm! Mussten daher alle zusammen in einem Bett schlafen… auch der Küchen- und Essbereich war für 4 Personen sehr klein und eng!

Cottage 10 was beautiful and spacious with wonderful views of the mountains.

What a gorgeous little find in the Drakensberg! The views were absolutely spectacular and made for the perfect escape. Our cottage was clean, cosy and homely, with a well-equipped kitchen that had everything we needed. We also loved the indoor patio and braai area. It was warm, comfortable and meant everything was close at hand. The staff were all friendly and welcoming, with a special mention to Thandeka at reception, who was especially kind and helpful throughout our stay. The ponies were adorable and so friendly, adding to the charm of the property. It was wonderful to disconnect from the hustle and bustle, with no TVs, just peace, quiet and the most beautiful surroundings. If you're looking for somewhere to relax and unwind in a stunning setting, this is the perfect place. We would love to return in the future!

Di eccezionale questo posto non ha niente, ma merita il massimo della valutazione per il fascino. Relativamente vicino a Tugela falls, circondato dai monti Drakensberg. Bisogna fare 3 km di sterrato per raggiungerlo, durante il quale abbiamo visto scimmie, antilopi e inaspettatamente zebre! Il cielo stellato più bello che io ricordi. Il fascino di accendere il fuoco per scaldarci e fare il barbecue!

The cottage had a stunning view and the food brought to the room was excellent. The staff were charming and very friendly.

It would have felt more generous if the wood to heat the room had been included in the price of the room, as in the Winter it is absolutely necessary. Unfortunately for us, despite being used to lighting fires at home, smoke filled the room, which wasn't very pleasant. We didn't get to meet the owners, which would have been nice. We had no hot water on the second day and felt it was too late to ask about it when we realised.

Lack of plug sockets, bathroom heater didn’t work and it was very chilly in the evenings unless you buy their fire wood. No TV. (chalet 5)

Quite cold at night and only a fire for heating but we rugged up under blankets. Would have been good to have access to larger pieces of firewood as we could only buy very small logs from the owners and they brined away too fast..

Die Unterkunft hat eine wundervolle Aussicht auf die Drakensberge. Die Ausstattung der Küche war komplett und das Frühstück, das ins Chalet gebracht wurde war super!

Everything! Our stay was amazing! The view from our cottage on the mountains and rhe "amfitheater" was wonderfull. We had a small private pool and outside shower. The room was big and bathroom as well. Breakfast and dinner were excellent. Rooms were very clean. We loved our stay, i would highly recommend if you like to stay in the mountains

Tolle Lage mit Blick über die Berge. Wir hatten Halbpension und das Essen war sehr lecker. Cottage 11 war sehr geräumig und komfortabel.

Pool war leider geschlossen und würde bei der Buchung gar nicht erwähnt. Sehr schade!

Het is een schattige en beetje kneuterige cottage, maar van alle gemakken voorzien. Van een kookplaat tot een airfryer, je kan complete maaltijden maken. Dankzij de houtkachel was het lekker warm binnen en met het braaipakket wat je vooraf kan bestellen kan je een heerlijke maaltijd buiten maken. Bedden zijn comfortabel en de douche is fijn, personeel is vriendelijk

Great relaxing location, probably the cleanest place we have stayed at ever. Staff are very friendly, safe environment, beutifull area. We had a broken porch lamp, when reported, they not only changed the light, but also saw that we use the outside grill and then brought us a bigger and better one, we where very impressed by this and used it every day.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt. Das Berghouse ist eine weitläufige, gepflegte und sehr schöne Anlage, auf denen die Cottages großzügig verteilt stehen. Der Ort selbst strahlt eine sehr angenehme Ruhe und Atmosphäre aus. Von unserem Cottage aus hatten wir schon morgens vom Bett aus einen tollen Blick auf die hohen Drakensberge und abends von der Terrasse in den nächtlichen Sternenhimmel. Einmalig schön! Wir haben die Möglichkeit des Reitens durch die nahe Flusslandschaft genutz. Die Route wurde den Erfahrungen angepasst. So hatte auch ich als Unerfahrene einen schönen Ausritt. Die Cottages sind schön, modern und gemütlich ausgestattet, auch zur Selbstverpflegung. Unbedingt empfehlen wir dort die Halbpension zu buchen. Das Frühstück und Abendessen waren köstlich, abwechslungsreich und großzügig.

Das Essen und der Ausblick waren sensationell.

Wunderschöne, einsame Lage. Herrliche Ausblicke auf die grandiose Bergwelt. Das Essen wurde auf der eigenen Terrasse serviert. Im weitläufigen Garten gab es viele Plätze, wo man sich schön hinsetzen kann. Schöner Pool mit Aussicht.

The scenery was absolutely incredible — easily some of the best mountain views we’ve experienced. The rock pool was such a special touch and made the stay feel even more unique. We opted for the catered option, and the food was delicious with very generous portions, which we really appreciated. The cottage itself was beautiful — spacious, tastefully decorated, and overall very inviting. The photos don't do it justice. The cottages are extremely picturesque, and the views are breathtaking.

Unfortunately, there was a very strong urine-like smell in the room. We kept all the windows and doors open to try air it out, but the smell lingered throughout the night and was quite off-putting. The mattresses and bedding could also do with an upgrade to improve overall comfort.

Alleine für die Aussicht kommen wir auf jeden Fall nochmal wieder. Im traumhaften Garten laufen kleine Ponys - es ist einfach paradiesisch. Auch die Küchenausstattung war hervorragend - man merkt: da hat sich jemand Gedanken gemacht und möchte seinen Gästen einen tollen Aufenthalt ermöglichen.

Fabulous views! Great location, very peaceful. Rock swimming pool was beautiful and very clean. Unit was clean and neat.

Our unit, No 7, was a bit cramped, and could do with a kitchen makeover. A bit lacking in kitchen utensils.

The View of the Amphitheatre is to die for

Einzigartige, ruhige Lage mit sensationellem Blick auf die Drakensberge. Die einzelnen Häuschen waren sehr gemütlich, das gelieferte Frühstück und Abendessen waren top und liebevoll zubereitet.

Spacious, well decorated room with charming staff. We loved jumping off the rock pool diving board, and having the ponies visit us for breakfast.

The sofa in the room looked great but wasn't very comfortable - but that might have been just our room. Lack of tea choice - sorry, we don't like Robois tea!

Hele mooie lokatie in niemandsland met mooi uitzicht. Prima wifi. Heerlijk ontbijt en diner wordt in je eigen huisje gebracht. Tevens kan je nog een biertje kopen bij de receptie, als je dit vergeten bent mee te nemen. Toegangsweg van 3 km is met normale auto prima te doen. Personeel opgewekt en blij. Golden Gate Highlands NP niet ver hiervandaan en de moeite waard.

La suite 6 est cosy, une chambre lit double avec sa propre salle d'eau et une chambre 2 lits simples avec sa salle d'eau. Position centrale avec vue sur les poneys, en face du boma et de la grande piscine à débordement. Tout était parfait : literie et restauration. Cet endroit mérite 12sur10 !!!!

Le Cottage 10 est magnifique avec sa petite piscine personnelle 1mx2m, et 1m50 de profondeur, des marches intérieures pour descendre sans risque. Tout à l'intérieur est parfait ! Et pourtant c'est la vue sur les montagnes qui est époustouflante, à 270°...et les petits moutons qui viennent brouter tous les matins. Restauration livrée à domicile selon formule, ainsi que petit-déjeuner fabuleux. 3 à 5 jours à passer dans un éden ; cela vaut la peine de faire la route pour y arriver !

Amazing views and beautiful accommodation (we stayed in cottage 8). We booked with breakfast included originally as we wanted to see what other options were in the area for dinner but ended up booking dinner on two nights and also a braai/ BBQ as the food was so amazing (each meal has to much we often kept things to eat as snacks during the day). Laundry is available on site as well as a small selection of snacks and drinks and board games. All of the staff were very friendly and went out of their way for anything you needed. We’d also recommend Tower of Pizza down the road who will deliver.

Honestly, there wasn’t anything! Only thing to note is that it’s difficult to drive in the area after dark due to how bad the potholes in the road are (as well as difficult to see speed bumps) so better to eat on site or get delivery.

Eine wunderschön gelegene Unterkunft. Glatte 10 von 10. Wir waren absolut begeistert und haben jede Minute dort genossen. Es ist unfassbar friedlich. Man ist eingebettet durch wunderschöne grüne Berglandschaften. Das Essen was dort serviert wird, ist super lecker und alle sind sehr sehr freundlich. Frühs kamen die Ponys zum guten Morgen sagen zu unserem cottage was uns den den Morgen versüßte. Unser Cottage war liebevoll eingerichtet. Der Pool ist eine tolle Erfrischung und wunderschön angelegt. Abends konnten wir mit vor Ort erworbenen Holz ein Lagerfeuer machen was den Tag perfekt abrundete. Rundum gelungener Aufenthalt!

Einfach alles. Wunderschöne Einrichtung, tolle Aussicht, voll ausgestattete Wohnung und Küche. Wir haben Dinner, Braai und Frühstück bestellt- alles sehr lecker und mehr als ausreichend und iebevoll angerichtet. Der Pool ist ebenfalls sehr schön angelegt mit Blick in die Drakensberge. Ein Traum. Wir wären gern länger geblieben.

Es wird nicht nach Allergien gefragt und man kann auch nicht auswählen. Wenn man dann wegen einer Allergie ein Gericht ablehnt, wird dieses mitgenommen und man bekommt dafür nichts ! Eine Stunde später kam eine vorgefertigte Mail vom Eigentümer, dass man auf Allergien keine Rücksicht nehmen kann und fertig

The views of the Drakensberg amphiteater were spectacular. The dinner and breakfast delivered to your cottage was a great idea and made it private and special.
