Templeview Lodge

The location of the house was absolutely stunning. The bedroom was huge. We had our own lounge with exceptional views. Everywhere was spotless. Our host Shelagh was welcoming and very friendly. She gave us lots of helpful tips.

The Lodge was lovely. Sheilagh was a fantastic host. The bed was definitely the most comfortable bed ive slept in. Jacuzzi bath top notch . The breakfasts were again the best ive had, and such a great choice.

Not that I didn't like it , but it was just a bit out of town for us, although Sheilagh offered to drive us into Moville and lift us if it wasn't late, as in 10pm. We didn't want to chance a taxi on a Saturday night so just stayed closer to home.

Exceptional host

Hospitality at its best. So relaxing, amazing huge rooms, great breakfast. So handy to get to from Magilligan on the ferry. Beautiful beaches nearby..but Sheliagh the owner is the star of the show.

Upon arrival, we were struck by the location of the accommodation looking down onto the centre of Greencastle and the wonderful views across Lough Foyle. Our hosts were superb and the attention to detail to provide us with a great breakfast will be fondly remembered. We stayed two nights but could have easily stayed longer. Really made to feel at home by Sheilagh and her friendly and relaxed approach. She also provided fresh water and fresh milk each day, which was kept in a fridge near to our bedroom. Loved our bedroom, the extremely comfortable bed and sitting area next to our bedroom, and both rooms had extensive views across Lough Foyle. We have enjoyed all our Booking.com stays in Ireland in the past two years, but this was our favourite. There were also excellent restaurants in the area, in Greencastle, Moville and further afield.

We have been there two nights with our two kids Sheila the owner is a very kind and friendly woman Place is beautiful and from there it is easy to reach the Uk side by ferry (by road it is a little bit long journey to be considered in case you don’t want to take the ferry). We suggest this place without any doubt.

The owners can’t do enough to make your stay comfortable and really made us feel welcome, thank you! Breakfast was incredible, full Irish breakfast, homemade rhubarb chutney with Guinness bread, and so much more besides. As for the property itself, wow! So spacious with one of the best views in the world, enjoyed through floor to ceiling glass windows and huge velux windows. Our little boys didn’t want to leave and neither did we. We can’t wait to stay here again!

Location was excellent with brilliant view over Greencastle and Magilligan Point. It has a nice relaxed feel about the place. Sheila was great and offered advice about the area. We would definitely stay again as we like this area of Donegal and visit every year with family.

Gorgeous lodge, great location, beautifully decorated, staff were lovely. The view from the room was superb, we had the Harbour View. It was nice and quiet and we got a good sleep. The lodge was very clean and cosy. We enjoyed the breakfast. But the best thing we liked was the friendly and excellent staff, Sheilagh is absolutely fantastic. We will be back. Katalin, Balazs

Everything was great! Nice breakfast was served each morning. The view from the hotel was superb. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Location was superb.

Absolutely wonderful host. From the minute we arrived until the time we left nothing was to much. Beautiful spacious and clean room, we had the Harbour View. Already, planning a re-visit to one of the pet friendly lodges.

Everything. Sheilagh was a charming host who obviously loved running her guest house. It was spotless. Our room was huge and overlooked the sea. The upstairs sitting room was a lovely area to relax in after a day out. Breakfast was exceptional .

The accommodation is just lovely. We stayed in the Inish Suite, which was very spacious and had everything you could possibly need. (We were able to park at the patio doors to our suite which was a bonus) The ensuite bathroom had twin sinks, a jacuzzi bathtub and a large shower. Toiletries, tea, coffee and biscuits were all provided. Upstairs, a shared lounge area has beautiful views overlooking Lough Foyle, lots of seating (including recliners) and a small bar area with a fridge to store your own beer/wine etc. and plenty of glasses. Breakfast was of a very high standard with lots of options, cooked to order. The location is probably best accessed by car, and it is a great starting point to go and explore the Wild Atlantic Way. Finally, Sheilagh is a fantastic hostess - so friendly and welcoming. Sheilagh was able to recommend places to eat and explore, and there is a selection of maps and tourist information in the main hallway. We will definitely be back - thank you Sheilagh!

breakfast was best we have ever had ever .lady of the house was very good and kind went more than over the top and as it was quiet she gave us a choice of what room we wanted.

I have some mobility issues, I was beyond impressed by the solutions on offer. outstanding. lovely welcome and wonderfull breakfast, Sheilagh even made her own wheaten bread which was gorgeous. These Donegal women are something special. Am booking again this summer. An absolute find, really looking forward to returning this summer.

The only disadvantage wasnt dependant from the host - there was no place offering food delivery nearby (including bigger nearby town Moville)

A truly exceptional bed and breakfast. Fantastic location with stunning views across the Foyle estuary and a 15 minute walk into Greencastle. The facilities are second to none, with thoughtful details everywhere, including comfortable seating areas inside and out. A varied breakfast cooked fresh each morning to order. Most of all though, it is the host Sheilagh that made our stay memorable, welcoming us into her home and always ensuring we had everything we needed. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Charming guest house, high enough to have spectacular views, but still 5 min to the sea. Our bedroom was huge, more like a large suite, with our own French doors where we could park our car outside of. Bathroom had a wet room like shower and a large jacuzzi bath. Landlady Sheilagh was an angel. So friendly and helpful and made you feel like you belonged. Lounge upstairs with lots of sofas which recline. Windows with gorgeous views. Lots of books to read. Also a bar with a fridge where you could put your own drink. Landlady washed your glasses. We will be back. T&R Lester

Templeview Lodge is the best B&B accommodation I've stayed in. My mum & I stayed for 3 nights & found our host Sheliagh so attentive & she made sure our stay was comfortable & so enjoyable. Breakfast was lovely & the accommodation has got everything you need for a lovely break away. I highly recommend Templeview Lodge. The views from this accommodation are stunning.

The breakfast is well made and didn't leave with an empty stomach in either morning. Shelagh made sure of it. Also like the pre-order system which prepares for the next day to make sure that they have my word. The destination is not far from the village of which is quiet after all. I was given more information of what to do around the County as well. Therefore I was given more options of adventure for almost 3 days.

We liked everything about our stay. Our host Sheila was warm and welcoming from the offset nothing was too much trouble for her. There was an extremely good choice for breakfast and everything was so tasty and perfectly prepared/cooked and presented. After four days staying in Templeview Lodge it felt like saying goodbye to a good friend. Greencastle is a beautiful place to visit and the local people are very friendly and we enjoyed our dining experiences and our drinks in the local pub. Well worth a visit and I recommend Templeview Lodge for your stay. Just to note we were delighted to see the dolphins in the Lough Foyle estuary two evenings and we understand that this is not an unusual sight!

Only the weather but even that wasn’t too bad we enjoyed some lovely sunshine and walks on the beach.

What a wonderful experience. The accommodations were excellent. From the view of Magilligan Point .. to our hosts Sheilagh and Michael,, they went above and beyond for our group. We had all the upstairs rooms booked so we were able to spend our evenings making ourselves at home in the open lounge area which was perfect. Breakfast was made to order everyday and was Amazing

What's not to like. Sheilagh is the perfect host.and so welcoming. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean and very well appointed with everything you could need. The views from the balcony across to Magilligan were stunning. Breakfast was delicious, freshly cooked, and with fresh fruit salad and juice really set you up for the day. We will definitely be back and happily recommend it to anyone

Templeview Lodge is a beautiful guesthouse with fabulous views overlooking the Foyle. Our family deluxe room was very spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast menu was superb. The house is amazing and views are spectacular. So nice to sit and chill in the upstairs bar area and watch the sunset over Lough Foyle. Sheilagh is so nice and helpful. Breakfast choice was great. Particularly loved the porridge with Baileys cream and smoked salmon. We loved it so much my mum and dad booked to stay a couple of weeks later. A great base for touring the Innishowen Peninsula and even all of North Donegal / Derry city. Hot tub was great too !!

Sheilagh and Michael have created a beautiful home from home, with a true Irish hospitality. We are a family of 4 and the family bedroom is a great size for us all. My favourite thing about Templeview is the upstairs bar area, which has comfy sofas and big windows that look out over Loch Foyle. It's a beautiful, spacious, peaceful space. A bookcase filled with interesting book completes this chill out zone.

Perhaps a couple of plug sockets by the second bed would be useful but there are 4 plug sockets at the other king size bed.
