Such a cool place! The atmosphere is very relaxing and the host is so nice and helpful.
Rien.
One of a kind quirky and fun. Like staying in an evolving piece of art.
Need transportation to go anywhere. Located in an undeveloped neighborhood with dogs and chickens everywhere, however that was part of the experience for our family but definitely not for everyone. Hot rooms, noisy fans and bamboo thin walls so bring earplugs.
Beautiful guest House made of Bamboo..with many paintings everywhere..it's a master piece. One of the best Place i,'ve ever seen
Great value for money, we loved the place and would definitely come back:)
I booked Bamboo Nest by accident as I wanted to book the Bamboo Nest beachfront- the owner is the same for both, so I texted him and he was able to move us to Bamboo Nest beachfront so I can only comment on the Beachfront accomodation. Nice looking houses, clean. The owner was helpful.
The sea is very shallow, low tide- not possible to swim and snorkel really. The kitchen wasn’t the cleanest. Dogs barking and cats meowing all night long. The closest restaurant (international food) is 1.7 km away, otherwise you can eat on the street (Filipino dishes), but not sure about the safety of the food (meat and fish are in the hot sun all day). We were traveling with 2 kids and I would not recommend this for families. We stayed for one night only and then left, even though we booked for 4 nights. We are used to camping in tents and using shared bathrooms but there is nothing you can do with kids in the area.
No sabría qué decir…
bamboo nest is really the best place you can stay in puerto princessa, it’s really a nest made of bamboo, super well maintained and very well decorated. There’s a lot of services proposed and the staff has been helping me with everything i needed during my stay and even more, such nice people. Thank you to the staff of bamboo nest, i had a really warm stay and i realky felt like home during my stay. thank you so much, i really really recommend
Beautiful, clean, convenient and welcoming staff, and lot of cute cats and dogs !
one of the coolest guesthouses! the owner is great. this space is his labor of love and it shows.
a bit far from the main street, but being in the residencial area was a perk for us.
Nice place, thank you!
Really cool and chilled place to stay. Jonathan was so lovely and helped us out a lot.
Nothing.
Everything was amazing!! It’s a remote location but there’s a few luxury’s like the Vietnamese restaurant “nickies” which is 10 minutes walk away! We ate there all the time! Greg the taxi driver was one of the highlights of our trip and went out of his way to make our stay even better! All the staff here are incredible! Including the friendly dogs and cats! We loved puerto princessa!
I loved Bamboo Nest for its location. It was way off the noise and hustle of the crowded town. It was undeveloped roads that kept this place from being a 5 out of 5, but I can't complain. Compared to the town/city, the quiet nature was welcomed. The cool breeze, bamboo enclosure, the hidden location kept us wishing we could permanently move here. It is NOT for those that are accostumed to glamour and upscale. It's a sticks and bamboo home with 10 rooms and 7 bathrooms
It was just a bit of an inconvenience having to ride the local transport into and out of the hotel as the roads were undeveloped. But that just added to the fun aspect of being out of the normal "hotel/resort" atmosphere.
Bamboo Nest was really beautiful! The common outside and inside areas were big, clean, and well-equipped. Showers and kitchen are also clean and easy accessable. The rooms were really cute and clean, exactly the bungalow feeling I was looking for. Our host, Jonathan, was very welcoming, helpful and compassionate. Would definitely visit again!
Cool owners and great property.
Very good facilities, very good staff and kind people.
A bit hard to get there because the military base
All staff were really lovely. Like living in a treehouse jungle for a night! Lots of animals around, all very friendly and part of the family. Go to their sister accommodation on the beach front for a relaxing chilled drink. Street food options near by were cheap and good.

Everything was good
I left
Super nice! Creative, clean, close to the airport! Nice people! :)
I liked everything! Mostly the structure style and the vibe, but also the cleanness, everyone who works there, the beers at the beach front. Hands down the best hostel I’ve found in the Philippines.
The structure is nice but difficult to reach, lucky the owner arranged a pick up from the airport. The price is good for the accommodation.
We had to travel on bompy roads on the tricicle as the normal road is in a military area closed for foreigners. My friend was not able to get there with a normal taxi and ended up in the other structure on the beach which is easy to find.
John is super nice host. Our van got delayed , he kept waiting for us to arrive till midnight. He is accommodative and very helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Quirky
Lots of animals
It is a really charming hostel for those who want a rustic, jungle experience with the fun if staying in a bamboo treehouse! There’s lots of cats and dogs, all of which are friendly and the place is spotlessly clean. Jonathan was a brilliant host and helped me to book tours and transport. You can also use the bamboo nest at the beach to go and have some drinks. A very lovely experience, thank you for having me.
Cute design and concept, bathrooms everywhere. Comfy beds, plenty of space. Communal kitchen with free water refills, tea and coffee. Wifi
Noisy in residential area. Noisy seating area directly underneath rooms. Weird location down a very crappy road and military bases.
Would have loved to stay longer at this place but sadly didn’t have enough time! Jonathan was an excellent host. I accidentally left something behind and he went out of his way to mail it to me at a later location.
Interesting building with lovely hangout areas. We had a nice dinner in the Sister hostel Room was clean and nice artwork. Convenient for 1 night before the airport.
The location is far away from everything and hard to get to. There was so much noise from roosters and dogs all through the night.
The artwork and design was gorgeous
Dogs barking all night and roosters making cocadoodledo all night especially 2-3am
Lots of lovely animals there All the bamboo looks very nice
Always a shame if you get ripped off at your first day in a country. If the owner arranges transportation you except a fair price, not paying 4x as much. That's not a good start. Beds are shit. Location is also far from town
Spacious rooms. Lots of hang out zones / hammocks. Kitchen has everything you need. Plus coffee. The entire place is well kept and extremely clean by staff who are also very polite, hopeful and friendly. Location is within the village. Which is a lovely experience. The local people are kind, friendly and helpful. We ate at restaurant next to bamboo nest. Clarissa/Owner is lovely and accommodated to our dietary choices. Jonathan.. what a superstar. He helped organise all of our tours and transport. Always close by if you need anything and returned all message within minutes. Thank you!! We also bonded with the animals they are apart of the house. They are lovely and playful, but also know how to keep distance.
Nice. We liked the authenticity, in general good location but we got mixed up on the roads in and out a lot. Clean and comfortable the fans in the room worked well. Liked the use of kitchen and lots of space to hang out. And the cats were cute and friendly but sometimes partied too late into the night ( with the roosters and dogs).
The location, the rooms, and above all, the staff. They helped me in more ways than I can mention in one review, thank you!
Nothing!
Very friendly host who also helped organize my tours and ride to the airport. The rooms are very cheap and clean. It has everything needed and the animals are very friendly.
The location is a bit hard to get to due to the military base nearby.
I arrived 1am and owner of the hostel arranged a pick up for me, and checked me in even it was late at night. Room was very comfortable, equipped kitchen big plus. Love to cuddle with cats! Also booked Underground river tour and van to Port Barton with hostel. Very nice and welcoming hospitality. Check the second place on the beach and get massage too!
Very nice owner who arranges things you need. The place is nice situated but kind of in the middle of nowhere. But the airport is very close and if you want to do something go to the mall with a tricycle.
Located in neighborhood Own water wheel Free filtered drinking water Nice and easy access to local people No tourist spot just layed back
Kitchen not so clean Be aware of many free dogs and cats of the owner
Close to the airport it was 150-200 pesos for a tuktuk there. Host is so lovely recommended places and offered to take me to the other bamboo nest for an event they were having
The walls are like paper, obviously you’re going to hear dogs fighting and cockerels all day long in the Philippines, but there were no windows just mosquito nets so I could hear different rooms conversations etc which meant I didn’t sleep great before my flight. Also no a/c just a fan and the building is fully open to the elements so I got a fair few bites despite mosquito spray
Friendly staff and animals, clean and quirky
It took us a long time to find as you have to go down the back streets as it's on a military base and you can't drive on the streets, no signs for the place and Google maps will try to take you on to military base be warned! The fans in the room did nothing it was super hot. There's no much going on around the area
The building itself is so lovely and there is a delicious restaurant just 1 minute away on the military road that cooked me vegetarian meals during my stay, the staff are extremely helpful and I even managed to book a last minute shuttle to Port Barton with no problem because of them! The art around the place is seriously awesome and the dogs and cats are so cute (if you lie on the hammock sometimes the cats jump into your lap)!
It’s not too difficult to find and the staff will give you the option of an airport taxi once you book, as well as directions to the hostel if you go on your own but the tuktuk I got from the airport had difficulty getting me there because of the military road, so maybe book the transportation with the hostel (it’s the same price)!!
We really loved staying here- it was one of the best places we stayed at in Palawan! The architecture, as the rest of the comments say, is truly stunning. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything you would need to cook. We loved lounging in the hammocks and walking around the small village area around the hostel. It was really easy to book and plan activities right at the hostel. Our host was really great and helped with everything! You will also get to meet a few furry friends. :)
Nothing! We loved everything about our stay.
Friendly host, laid-back atmosphere and local restaurants with great food for small money right next door
This hostel is beautiful, I liked this place. Everything was clean, facilities were good and the staff is very nice.
Really nicely designed structure with a lot of details. Very kind host who was informative and helpful. Animal lover and artist. The place is located in authentic surroundings with a few shops and homes. They have another venue on the beach which is floating. Airport trike in the early morning 200PHP. Good price (17€) for room no.3 with two fans and two large beds. Kitchen, fridge, water, etc. available. Hostel atmosphere with enough privacy.
- water pressure could be better (like everywhere else) We enjoyed the short stay a lot.
Kind host and amazing place. so much level to detail and everything is super clean. only stayed there for one night but loved it.
The neighbor started cooking at 4 am, and the smell wafted into our room, but this was nothing the host could do about it.
It’s a beautiful place.Lovr the design of the place❤️Very clean. In the local village.
Nothing
It's such a peaceful and quiet area in the city. The restaurant across the street was also very good and cheap. Locals around the area are very friendly and helpful :)
Overnight transfer stay in Puerto Princesa, I was positively surprised by this beautiful bamboo place. It looks amazing. Many people, yet quiet. Many showers and toilets. Fully equipped kitchen to use with amazing coffee (best in the Philipines and for free!), although the nearby local restaurant serves good food for surprisingly low prices. Hammocks everywhere. Overall good place to stay and to meet some people!
The light from the hallway would shine brightly into my dorm waking me up sometimes when people walked around. Many dogs around that randomly fight each other in the night might wake you up as well. Other than that, the go to place.
Lovely place. Very beautiful
Location as couldn't walk in nearest road so long walk through rough roads to get anywhere
The place is very unique how ever ,If you looking for a quiet place to rest , thats not the place , is located in an area with lots of wild dogs , and the walls dont stop any noise especially at night , trust me earplugs wont help you …
Very different. Good to have a kitchen free of use and free coffee.
Could be quite noisy at night with the neighbourhood dogs as the bamboo huts don’t block out too much noise. But
We love everything here. Like living in an art gallery. The host is very helpful. We are sure we will come back.
Nothing
Facilities were exceptionally clean and unique. Owner is very kind and helpful. Peaceful neighborhood, though somewhat secluded
The host Jonathan was super helpful and he built the hostel on his own which is quite impressive. It was like a little art hotel, you can see beautiful decorations everywhere :)
The location was a bit remotely, but still fine if you don't mind to walk :)
