It was a quiet location in a beautiful setting. It would be wonderful in warm and sunny weather. We enjoyed the space and tranqulity in our cottage

Beautiful cottages,with pool, in a lovely, peaceful countryside location. The cottage was thoughtfully and tastefully furnished, very clean anddvery well equipped with everything we needed. Our hosts were lovely, very friendly and always helpful and informative.

The cottage was lovely. Everything you need is there. The location and grounds are stunning. Driving distance to many places is easy and the coastal drives and areas are beautiful.

We have just returned from 2 weeks glorious holiday at the hidden gem that is Ardnavaha Poolside Cottages. They are beautifully appointed, spotlessly clean and as comfortable as home. The heated pool is wonderful and a rare treat in Ireland. The hosts, Ann and Ger, are so friendly, welcoming and helpful - their local tips were invaluable. It is one of the most peaceful places we have ever stayed - the only sounds were the birds. If you are looking for the perfect spot to relax and unwind or a base to tour this beautiful part of Ireland, book Ardnavaha. It is a little piece of paradise and you won’t be disappointed.

Wooden kitchen utensils and oven dishes would have helped

Ein mitten im Grünen gelegenes Anwesen mit einem prachtvollen alten Baumbestand. Absolut ruhig und abgelegen. Sehr schön und stilvoll eingerichtetes Cottage. Tolle Anlage mit Pool.

Unter einer voll ausgestatteten Küche verstehen wir etwas anderes. Die Bratpfanne war derart durchgebogen, dass ein Anbraten kaum möglich war. Die Spühlmaschine ist toll, nützt aber wenig, wenn es nur 4 Teller und 4 Gläser hat. Da müsste echt eingehend nachgerüstet werden. Wenn man aber nur Frühstück selber machen will, reicht es. Das ist aus unserer Sicht aber das einzig Negative. Sonst top.

The location suited us as we had a car . It is only 5 minutes into the main town . The cottage was very clean and comfortable .

Such a gorgeous little place! The cottages have everything you could need, and feels so cosy and safe. The pool is amazing and the grounds are beautiful. Everything was great! The owners are so friendly and accommodating too! Would 100% recommend!

Warm welcome and plenty of information on things to do provided. Loved the location in the countryside and space to walk around the grounds and nearby. Courtyard had places to sit and plastic glasses were provided so you could have a drink outside. Swimming pool was a decent size too. We had a couple of issues but Gareth responded quickly to our messages and was very helpful. Very generous supplies of tea and coffee but pick up milk before you arrive as there’s no milk.

Not a complaint. We were in the apartment in the roof but thought we’d booked a cottage so check, it wasn’t obvious when we booked with Booking.com that there was a choice. (Perhaps all the cottages had gone when we booked. ) There were skylights but the 2 little windows in the apartment looked onto a roof space so no view out. We like to see out, but as we were out most of the time it was ok.

The cottage was fabulous with a fully equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, bathroom had nice toiletries and towels, bedroom was very big and the bed comfortable.

Some deprecating comments by hostess upon arrival - why did you come here, you have a lot of luggage etc - unnecessary comments.

We loved the quiet location in the country. It had a beautiful garden and walking trail. The cottage was clean, spacious and we were able to do laundry. Gerard was a friendly and helpful host.

Tolle Lage und geräumige Appartements! Die Küche ist eher spartanisch bestückt ansonsten aber alles vorhanden.

The hosts Gerard and Ann were so warm and welcoming. They were there at all times if I had any questions. The location was so fabulous and well kept. The facilities and accommodation were so clean and had everything I needed. Will definitely be back again in the near future.

I couldn’t recommend this property more! We are local to the city and this felt like paradise for a staycation. Ann and Gerard couldn’t be friendlier, luckily we were able to catch Gerard by the pool one day and got the ins and outs of the history of the property which was fascinating. Only a quick 10 minute drive to the all the amenities of Clonakilty. Beds and cottage’s were spacious and comfortable and filled with everything and anything we needed. The pool was absolutely devine and had floaties and was heated. Can’t wait to come back already! I’d rate it a thousand out of ten if I could.

The mattress was a bit soft for me. But it didn’t affect my stay.

Gorgeous cottage in lovely setting. Everything we needed

Werkelijk schitterende cottage op een prachtig landgoed. Super schoon, goed geoutilleerd en ruim opgezet. Heerlijk zitje buiten.

Geen uitzicht

Obwohl wir sehr spät angereist sind, hat Gerard auf uns gewartet und alles erklärt. Auch war er jederzeit für Fragen offen und hat versucht uns überall Auskunft zu geben. Absolute Ruhe, kein Strassenverkehr, abgelegen hervorragend zum erholen. Clonalilty mit allen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ist in 5 Minuten erreichbar.

Das einzige war, das die Betten etwas schmal sind, liegt aber auch daran, das wir nicht die schlankesten sind.

Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und freundlich. Das Cottage wurde mit viel Liebe gestaltet.

Das Bett hat etwas gequietscht.

Voor een langer verblijf heb je niet zoveel privacy als je buiten wilt zitten. En je zit op een binnenplaats waardoor geen uitzicht ode prachtige omgeving. Het is meer geschikt voor kort verblijf terwijl de cottage zelf uitermate geschikt is voor langer verblijf. De eigenaren zouden wellicht één of twee cottages geschikt kunnen maken met een buitenplaatsje. Het is geen kritiek maar een suggestie.

Das einzige was wir wirklich empfehlen würden ist etwas mehr Küchenausstattung und eine Grundausstattung mit Salz, Pfeffer, Essig, Oel. Tee und Zucker waren vorhanden, das war super. Auch der Host ist sehr nett und lässt einem seine Privatsphäre. Trotzdem ist er jederzeit erreichbar und kümmert sich um alles. Das Highlight sind natürlich das Grundstück und insbesondere der Pool.

We stayed in the apartment (separate from the cottages, which I can't comment on). While the grounds are charming—with a picturesque courtyard and inviting pool—the interior of the apartment left something to be desired. The kitchen was minimally equipped, which may be fine for those not planning to cook, but could be inconvenient otherwise. Unfortunately, we noticed several cleanliness issues, including cobwebs in the corners and skylights, and evidence of ants inside. We also had concerns that the tap water may have contributed to us feeling unwell during and after our stay. When we shared this feedback with Gerard after our departure, his response was very defensive, to a point that he described these concerns as 'outrageous allegations'. Rather than acknowledging our concerns, he flatly denied that any cobwebs were present, or there could be a problem with the water. Additionally, the bed was quite small, particularly for a taller guest, and overall, it felt as though certain corners had been cut in the apartment’s upkeep and design—a real pity, as the space has the potential to be truly lovely.

What a unique spot! We traveled with 8 adults and it was so nice to all be in the same spot but have our privacy in our own cottages . The pool was nice and warm and the grounds were so pretty .

Everything about Ardnavaha was just brilliant. Setting in fabulous location, beautiful gardens. The host Ger was so nice when we arrived and explained everything to us. He knows all the good spots. Pool was beautiful (weather helped), all you need in accommodation, kitchen, washing facilities, comfortable bed, clean bathroom etc. It’s about ten mins outside of clonakilty so may not suit people without car transport but overall, we will 100% be returning. A hidden Gem.

My husband and I stayed at Arnavaha House in a poolside cottage for 4 nights in June 2025, partly to attend our friends wedding locally on the coast. We had an excellent stay - from the warm welcome and guided tour, to the spotless cottage and pool area, the stunning surroundings overlooking the ruins of a castle, and being conveniently placed to reach Clonakilty and local sites by car. Genuinely a dream and very peaceful to wake up and have a swim in the heated outdoor pool. We cannot recommend this gem highly enough. We would also recommend taking a hire car around the Wild Atlantic Way and Beara Peninsula, hitting the beach and the Fish Basket for lunch, grabbing a pizza at Oak Fire Pizza and then catching trad music and a pint at the pubs in Clonakilty, and kissing the Blarney Stone! Pack good walking trainers and an umbrella, the weather in Ireland is notoriously changeable!

Die Lage war gut und kein Verkehrslärm, man mußte halt ca. ne viertel Stunde zum Einkaufen fahren. Wir waren eh jeden Tag unterwegs also kein Problem. Der Pool war auf 26° geheizt. Ein Tennisplatz stand kostenlos zur Verfügung. Ein riesiger Garten Park ähnlich angelegt.

Das einzige war für die Metall Gartenstühle gab es keine passende Polster. Sonst war alles gut, außer das Wetter.

Amazing property. The cottage was perfect. Every detail was wonderful. Spacious and comfortable. The best place we stayed in on our trip to Ireland.

Cottage was clean and tidy. The grounds of the property are fantastic. Plenty of character and warmth.

Everything was simply amazing. From start to finish. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay anymore. Everything about this place is top class. The cottages are absolutely spotless and also lovely and spacious. Gerard and Anne couldn't have been anymore helpful and obliging towards us. The pool was so fabulous. We will definitely be returning again. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a good time in West Cork to stay here.
