Loved the location ....so peaceful
FYO .Highchair would be an added bonus and an outside table. Other than that ,it was perfect for us Am
The house is roomy and comfortable. The hostess made every attempt to provide a sense of home away from home. It is well-outfitted - she has even provided a sandwich toaster and an air-fryer. We loved that there were the family sheep on the property. Quiet and yet only 2 km from town.
It was a bit of a surprise that we had to put coins into the electricity meter. It would have been nice to know we needed coins ahead of time. Getting a message about the location and check-in procedures the day before we arrived would have been helpful too.
This cottage is excellent and situated in a beautiful, scenic location. My 18-month-old enjoyed the open space and loved interacting with the sheeps in the backyard—the best place to relax and unwind. We were undisturbed and had a lovely weekend soaking in everything nature has to offer. It is close to most tourist destinations. Groceries are 25 minutes away, but you can pick them up on the way to the cottage.
The electricity was pay-per-use and had to be covered by us (the host was kind enough to provide some coins to get started with), but we expected it to be covered by the host. The bathroom did not have any toiletries; once again, we expected to find basic toiletries (body wash, lotion) just like in any B&B.
Breakfast I made myself , yes lively peaceful location
Cosy little cottage nestled amongst the Donegal hills. Fire lit before we arrived and plenty of wood in the bucket. Very clean and tidy inside and out.
Cozy, warm and just a wonderful healing place. After a tough year - Heather Cottage helped recalibrate for the start of a new year. Hosts were so kind and friendly; clearly loved their holiday home.
Nothing it was perfect for our short relaxing retreat
Our stay at the cottage was truly exceptional. The location was perfect peaceful, quiet, and thoughtfully designed. The cottage itself was spotless, with every detail carefully prepared, making it feel like a home away from home. It was equipped with everything we could possibly need, and more. The area is wonderfully strategic, with easy access to amazing spots within a short drive. We especially loved climbing Errigal Mountain, strolling along the boardwalk, and dining at a lovely local restaurant, sauna at the Marble hill beach. The outdoor space was equally impressive, especially for our dog, who loved running freely in the gated area. One of the highlights was enjoying a cup of tea while watching the sheep grazing just in front of us it was such a serene and beautiful experience. The cottage was also incredibly warm and cozy, with the oil heating and stove making it easy to create a snug atmosphere. After a day of exploring, it was just wonderful to relax on the comfy couch with family, sipping a warm cup of tea and feeling the heat from the stove. For anyone looking for a peaceful getaway in a stunning setting, I couldn’t recommend this place more highly.
Nothing bad to report .
Cottage may be not so easy to find, internet didn't work sometimes on the small lanes around Creeslough, we had a few wrong turns the first time. Before you start, look at google maps for "Heather Cottage" as the destination for your navigation system. Being there, it was a very peaceful and quiet stay. Glenveagh national park, mount Errigal and the northern coast in an half hour driving distance. Great place for hiking.
Peaceful
Maybe a bit far to local shops
Everything from the comfort of heather cottage to the welcoming from hosts Suzanne and David was outstanding we would highly recommend a stay in the cottage the beautiful surroundings is amazing breathtaking.we will be staying at heather cottage again as it is within a short drive to donegals parks beach's restaurants bars and beautiful scenery.

Gorgeous cottage, close to town but in a lovely quiet area. The owners were lovely and had lots of helpful tips for where to visit. The rooms were very comfortable and cozy.

Perfect location, so quiet in the middle of nature. The house had everything one can need for a short or long stay. Totally recommend for a visit to Glenveagh National Park and surroundings!

If you look for a peaceful location to enjoy the nature, it's perfect. There is a lake nearby, and the cottage is located handy for sightseeing.Owners are very kind and welcoming. We even got to meet some baby sheep, thanks to David.Highly recommended. You have everything you need in the cottage, cooking equipment beyond the expectation every detail is thought about.
Nothing
The cottage is very big, well equipped, well insulated and keeps warm in the winter, and there’s a fireplace. It’s perfectly located in the country side, with no other house around and between hills. It’s quiet, and gorgeous location, really ideal for a holiday away from the city. Our stay there was amazing and the hosts were very welcoming, accommodating and friendly. We really felt pampered. That said, we’re thankful to both for making the stay so awesome, and would absolutely book again!
N/A - place was really awesome
Very cosy, host was extrenmely helpful. Property was also very clean. Would recommend.
We absolutely loved the fire in the living room, the whole cottage had a cosy feel to it. Definitely a home from home ❤️ so many beautiful walks in the area & we especially loved our sheep neighbours during our stay 🙏🏼😇 we can’t wait to go back. David & Suzanne are very helpful & there was a lot of information booklets for us to pick and choose from the best attractions to local pubs & restaurants. Five stars from us ⭐️
Loved everything about Heather Cottage - the perfect location, stunning views and had all the facilities we needed to make our stay comfortable. The hosts were extremely welcoming and made us feel at home. Will definitely return. Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage Suzanne & David 😊
Couldn't fault this cottage.
Very peaceful, not a sound to be heard. The host checked a couple of times that all was ok and then left us be. After a long journey the host had the stove lit for us and it was so welcoming when we opened the door.
Not a thing could be improved on.
Beautiful location in the gorgeous Donegal Hills. So quiet and peaceful, just what we needed to recharge our batteries and get away from it all. A bonus was the enclosed area which meant our daughter could bring her dog along. Close to all the lovely scenery, Ards Park, Glenveagh Park, Mt Errigal, beautiful beaches of the North Atlantic Way etc. Close to Creeslough village for shopping and only 25 minutes from Letterkenny for leisure centres, cinema and big town shopping. Owners Suzanne and David were helpful and accessible if needed. Hope to return.
No complaints.
We had a lovely couple of days at Heather Cottage . From the moment we arrived until we left our experience was first class. Suzanne was a warm ^ friendly host and nothing was a bother. Heather cottage had everything and more. It was absolutely spotless. Surroundings were beautiful. I woukd highly recommend to anyone. I definitely will be back here with my family again. Thanks to Heather & her husband.
