Reviewed Sep 2, 2026We had a brilliant weekend in Kathleen's cottage. The views from the dining room and bedrooms were amazing, it was spotlessly clean and well equipped for self catering. The location was ideal for us too, close to spanish point, Miltown Malbay and Lahinch.. We will be back again and will definitely stay for longer next time. Thanks Fiona for your hospitality.
We couldn't fault the place at all. 10 out of 10.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2026Stunning location overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Near plenty of beautiful sandy beaches. The view from the house was lovely, with large windows giving a full panorama of the ocean.
The only small issue was that the large windows and good insulation meant that it got quite warm at times.

Reviewed May 29, 2025The location right on the Sea. You could watch the sunset in the comfort of your living room. Also to have a supermarket across the road is like having the most amazing well-stocked pantry/fridge as you can just pop across and get what you want. We didn't use the pub/restaurant, but again, it is literally across the road. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cooking items so you can easily self-cater.

Reviewed May 8, 2025The location was fabulous-easy walking to bus station to get many places and restaurant and pub easily within walking distance. Be aware Sundsys much is closed so plan ahead. Great bakery across the street only open Saturday-Sunday closed and Monday was holiday we did not know about.
It was old but lovely and worth the inconveniences.

Great base location for travelling to different spots on the Wild Atlantic Way. The house is very spacious, clean, and warm - very well equipped. Friendly host, and good communication. Wish we had booked for a longer stay.

Fabulous sea views from all windows loved living area with ocean views and bedroom balcony. Highly recommend it close to shop/ takeaway/ pub and church you couldn’t ask for more.

Pub serves food seasonally so people uncomfortable driving on left side/at night night find it hard to eat meals out in the evening. With advance planning to procure ingredients you could cook in.

The house got very warm with thermostat of room reading 24 degrees. We didn't know how to lower it and if you open windows at night little flies fly in from the sea attracted by the light so would be better if you could control this room temperature yourself.

House had all the facilities we needed and was right across the road from a shop and local bar/restaurant if needed. Communication with the owner was very good and we would definitely stay there again

Very relaxing and enjoyable stay, plenty of room and having 2 bathrooms was wonderful with a party of 5. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
This is not really a negative against the property but just a suggestion for the hosts that perhaps a few board games would be great.

Reviewed Jul 2, 2024Everything about the cottage was ideal. It's in a great location on the Wild Atlantic Way and only a quick drive to Spanish Point or Miltown Malbay. The views out at the Atlantic from the property were beautiful. We had eight adults and one toddler in our group. There was plenty of space in the bedrooms and the living area was more than big enough for all of us. The cottage had everything that we needed and we couldn't have asked for a better house or hosts for our first family holiday.

Reviewed Jun 3, 2024We had a wonderful holiday in the best location! The windows looking out to the sea & beach were spectacular! Access to the beach was right there!! The house was warm and comfortable. I was so grateful to be somewhere clean, tidy, safe and warm. We were right in the middle of the village with everything we needed & the locals were friendly and welcoming. Thank you Quilty! Fiona was extremely helpful and responded every time promptly.....not one problem. Thank you 😊 I would definitely recommend staying there and would definitely do so again.
This is very hard for me to not give Fiona 10/10.... however in the spirit of improving things for the next visitors, we would all like to make some suggestions.... All the rooms needed a wardrobe and a chair. Also hooks in the rooms and bathrooms. There was nowhere to put things, nowhere to hang clothes.... except one room. A few rugs would have added to a bit of comfort underfoot. .....plus a soap dish! No one ever puts soap dishes in the shower 🚿 Talking of the shower.....it flooded one day and the water ran out towards the hall.... there is no screen, it's just open????
