Walnut Block Cottages

It was a home away from home, everything was provided from the supplies for breakfast which were topped up on the 3rd day and the provision of gluten free bread and granola for me. Kitchen had everything you would need plus more; washing machine/dryer, dishwasher. A bonus voucher for one of their own wines, and we actually had two and paid a good price for the 2nd. Hosts were around but not at all intrusive. Unit was serviced every day. Position was absolutely perfect looking over the vineyard, the walnut tree with sheep and lambs running around. Very close to the town of Blenheim, supermarkets and other local stores and cafes near by. Wine tour companies pick up from the door. We had a 4 night stay and it was total perfection.

広い部屋で、総ての生活用品（洗濯機、アイロン、アイロン台、洗濯干し等）は揃っており、非常に快適に過ごせた。部屋は非常に綺麗で新しいので、トイレ、シャワー、wifi等総て申し分なかった。キッチンで自炊できるので、自分で料理をすれば問題ない。朝食のパン、シリアル、果物、牛乳、ヨーグルト、バター、ジャムも揃っており、朝食は問題ない。コーヒーは、コーヒーマシン（カプセル式）があり、大変有難い。 　コテージの目の前がワイン畑で、広々とひらけていて素晴らし眺めであった。 オーナーご夫妻は大変親切で、2日に1回掃除とタオルの取り替えをしてくれる。これで充分。 　20ドル分のバウチャーをくれるので、部屋に置いてある自家製のワインをそれで購入できるので、非常に気が利いている。ご主人が最もお勧めのソビニヨンブランは、20ドルであった。また、パッケージがお洒落な地元のチョコレートが1人に1個置いてあった。 　空港からはタクシーで10分強で、24ドル弱であったが、送迎がないので自分で交通手段を確保しておく必要あり。空港には、タクシーはいなかった。 　最も感激したのは、ご主人が自分で作っているソビニヨンブランを持ってコテージに来て、ワインを飲みながらワイン作りについて色々教えていただいたことである。ワインの醸造自体は外に出しているとのことで、ブドウの生産についてと製品の特徴等の話しが聞けて非常に勉強になった。印象に残るひと時であった。 　是非また泊まりたい。

基本的に車がないと大変。今回はワイナリー巡りをする関係上レンタカーは借りなかったが、最寄りのスーパーまで2キロ近くあり、買い物が大変であった。近所に飲食店もないので、食事については事前に準備が必要。レンタサイクルを置いてくれれば、最高。

The cabin was well appointed, lovely breakfast and fresh bread. The host offered advice on a nearby cafe and restaurant, which we took her up on.

The thing that didnt work for us was the bed was very hard. Linen and size Brillant (lovely linen duvet), but unfortunately the mattress was uncomfortable.

Helen gave us great advice about the local cafe and the aviation museum- both were amazing. Stunning location and very cute, well equipped cottage. We loved the heated bathroom floor!!!

The location and the view is out of this worlds, just nestled amongst the vines was a great way to spend our wedding anniversary. We will come back for sure, just sitting on the deck watching the sheep running up and down and drinking wine was something else. The accommodation was just perfect with plenty of space for a couple. Helen and Clyde were super helpful and easy to chat with about anything you needed. Parking right next to the cottage made loading and unloading super easy.

Hard to find anything as it was perfect but if I was to be really critical I would say maybe the bath towels need to be updated.

Marlborough Location was spectacular and the setting of the cottages was wonderful .

It needed a little more maintenance. Getting slightly tired ( bed end worn off paint ) and the deck required anti moss treatment on the lower barbecue level .

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful cottage. It this decorated with such taste and attention to detail that the hold place has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Combined with its stunning location it is the perfect place to relax and unwind. From the moment we arrived, we felt incredibly comfortable and at home here. We would also like to thank our hosts, Helen and Clyde, for their kindness and support. Their friendlyness and Helpfullness made our stay even more special.

Superb location, a great host, and breakfast (provided by way of fresh fruit, cereal and bread) of a quality befitting a 5 star residence.

I could not cite anything that could be improved. The hosts were incredibly attentive.

Das Cottage liegt wunderschön in den Weinbergen. mit netter Terrasse auf der man die Abendsonne genießen kann. Es war alles sehr sauber. Für das Frühstück war alles vorhanden. Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und bekamen Empfehlungen für Unternehmungen und Restauranttipps.

The accommodation was in a fantastic location with beautiful views. The indoor space was spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed. Helen was a superb host, giving great advice on where to visit.

Absolutely the best stay on our New Zealand trip! Walnut Block Cottages is stunning, with beautiful cottages, a wonderful breakfast, and a complimentary bottle of delicious wine. We loved relaxing on the terrace with fresh bread, cheese, and wine in the evenings. Super convenient location, perfect for trips to Kaikōura and Milford Sound. Highly recommended – a true gem!

My husband and I loved everything about Walnut Block Cottage 1. The location is perfect both in terms of its close proximity to Blenheim CBD, the vineyards and only 30 minutes to the seaside village of Picton, as well as the properties own outlook on its vineyard and the walnut tree from which it gets its name. The cottage itself has everything you need, is roomy and tastefully decorated. The kitchen is well fitted out and we were very appreciative of the breakfast items left for us to enjoy. The deck has a table and chairs, where we enjoyed sharing a bottle of Walnut Cottage Sauvignon Blanc as we ate dinner ( it was so lovely out there, that we cancelled our dinner booking and opted for a take away from the same place, so we could enjoy the view and watch the sunset). We were also very appreciative of how accomodating Helen was in letting us drop our bags off early. Our only regret was that we didn't book a longer stay.

We absolutely loved our stay at Walnut Block Cottage. Host Helen was awesome and very accommodating. The room was just gorgeous and had everything we needed. The view through the vineyard from our room was spectacular. Breakfast supplies were fabulous and the fresh strawberry's amazing. Walnut Block wines are awesome and we will be ordering some to share with our friends in Australia. Thankyou for having us Helen...we will be back.

Helen provided an excellent continental breakfast more than enough to satisfy. Very peaceful location. Handy to many wineries and restaurants. We just loved the cottages, waking up to grapevines and mountains in the distance was heaven.

Both the cottage and the views were amazing. The breakfast supplies provided in the cottage were really good - especially the sourdough bread! The host was helpful telling us useful information on the surroundings.

여행할 때, 비도 오고 전반적으로 쌀쌀한 날씨였지만 숙소에 들어올 때마다 늘 따뜻해서 좋았어요. (특히 화장실) 모든 부분이 청결하고 깔끔하게 잘 정리되어 있어요. 주방에 식기류 포함해서 다양한 기구들이 있어서 다양한 요리를 할 수 있었습니다. 아침 식사도 만족스러웠어요. 와인은 말할 것도 없이 맛있었습니다!! 물론 풍경도 예쁩니다 😀

기차역에서 거리가 조금 애매해서 택시를 타야하는데, 렌트카가 있다면 상관없을 거에요.

The cottage faced a beautiful vineyard and old walnut trees with views of the mountains. The cottage was a perfect size and had everything we needed. Our host Helen provided breakfast and we were close to many wineries and restaurants.

The shower would run hot and cold. Everything else was superb.

The view was stunning

I loved this cottage. So quiet and relaxing and such a unique experience to be able to just walk around the vineyard. As others have said the little touches made a difference. Beautiful breakfast, lovely linen and heated bathroom floor. We will be back.

Unforgettable Vineyard Stay: Staying right in the middle of a working vineyard was truly special—one of the top memories from our four weeks in New Zealand. Out of all the places we will stay during our long trip through Ocenia and Asia, Walnut Block Cottages may have set the highest bar. Spacious, Comfortable, and Stylish: The cottage was not only cozy and beautifully designed, but also offered plenty of room for luggage and clothing, which made settling in easy and comfortable. Cozy Comforts & Thoughtful Touches: The heated bathroom floor was a standout luxury, especially on cooler mornings. Add to that the high-quality bed linens, a Nespresso machine, and a well-stocked kitchen perfect for cooking enthusiasts—it really felt like a home away from home. Welcome Goodies: We really appreciated the thoughtful extras—breakfast provisions, chocolates, and a bottle of their own Sauvignon Blanc. And the voucher for a wine bottle was a lovely bonus. Highly Recommended: This is one of those rare places we’d definitely recommend to others—and would absolutely love to return to someday.

The only thing we missed a bit was having a dishwasher—especially for those who enjoy cooking (which the kitchen is well set up for). Not a dealbreaker, because it is clear when you book it that it is not available, but something that would be a great addition. The cottages are a short drive from Blenheim, so having a car is necessary—but honestly, the peaceful location more than makes up for that.

The breakfast was perfect. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous,the view across the vineyard was beautiful. I didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful, peaceful property and extremely well thought out space, with great attention to detail. The dressing room was fabulous for keeping bags etc tidy and out of the way. Very helpful and friendly hosts. As the first accommodation on our extended trip of the South Island, I suspect Walnut Cottages has set an impossibly high bar!

Location was facing vineyards, quiet, beautiful views. Provisions for breakfast were excellent, plus a selection of own Walnut Block vineyard wines available to buy (very reasonable price and very enjoyable to drink). Well stocked kitchen for cooking enthusiasts. Accommodation was spacious and open plan, light and extremely comfortable. Hostess was extremely helpful prior to arrival, providing a long list of options when I contacted her. We ate in both nights and enjoyed the sunset and watching the courting wagtails flight. There's a great food store within 5 mins drive. 10 min. drive to Blenheim if needed.

The continental-style breakfast was simple, but sufficient. The bread was good and the fresh orange juice was great. And the voucher for the wine was a nice touch (not for breakfast, probably.)

Our stay at this delightful tiny house on a 60-acre vineyard was truly memorable! The cozy space, complete with a kitchenette, dining area, and king-sized bed, was perfect. Highlights included waking up to stunning vineyard views, walking to a nearby restaurant through the vines, visiting the aviation museum, biking to local vineyards, and savoring their fantastic wine.

This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed, and we are so glad we chose it. The views over the vines were exceptional, and the cottage very comfortable and thoughtfully appointed. Convenient location and a fantastic host. Peaceful and the only noise was bird song. Beautiful!

We loved everything about our stay at Walnut Block Cottages. The space was so comfortable and warm. The view straight onto the vineyard was beautiful. Loved watching the lambs playing around the property. So relaxing, we hope to come again one day.

Everything about this property was exceptional. From the heated floor in the bathroom to the in room breakfast to the super comfortable bed I could not fault anything. Loved sitting on the patio and just taking in the stunning view. Definitely would recommend and would love to return again.

We had one of two cottages on the property which were absolutely lovely. It was well appointed, so peaceful and private. In fact, of our 10 days away this was our best accommodation. The view was amazing of the vineyard right outside the cottage, along with sheep grazing amongst them. Close to town and other amenities. The continental breakfast provided was great. Loved that they had a Nespresso machine. I opted to open a bottle of the Walnut Block Sauv which was available for purchase (but for which we were given a voucher) and it was lovely! Helen was easy to communicate with and willing to help with anything we may have needed.

Located right next to a vineyard with views of the mountains in the background and sheep grazing. Very relaxing. Well designed and appointed. Great bathroom. Comfy bed. Kitchen facilities. Also provided with a wine voucher to purchase some of the wine they make (very good!). Short drive to lots of wineries and city centre.

The cottages are absolutely wonderful. The location is a dream. Sitting on your balcony with a morning coffee or evening wine looking out over the vines in silence. The interior is spacious and with an extremely comfortable bed, big bathroom and well stocked kitchen. Breakfast supplies included and Helen on hand for anything you need. Don't hesitate to book this place. Loved it!

We loved the views from the patio and wall-to-wall windows, but also all the little touches - from the heated floor in the bathroom to the delicious breakfast goodies to the occasional visits from Harley, the dog. The hosts were very welcoming and provided many excellent recommendations that enabled to make the most of our short time in the area. Staying in this vineyard will be one of the top memories from our two weeks in New Zealand.

We absolutely loved how beautifully laid out the cottage was and the homely touches such as breakfast, chocolates, and a bottle of wine. We truly had everything we needed for a relaxed stay, with the added bonus of being able to wake up among the Vines and got some incredible sunsets and sunrise! We could not fault anything, and may have found a new home away from when staying in Blenheim.

The owners really put thought into every aspect of the stay; tranquil and private location, modern and cosy accommodation and local produce and products in the kitchen - with breakfast supplies provided. It was mine and my husbands first trip away without our daughter and I couldn’t have picked a better spot. We’re already planning our next visit to Blenheim - purely to be able to book the same accommodation! Couldn’t recommended more. Thank you Clyde and Helen.
