Tambo Atacama Lodge

Adoramos a estadia!

Very nice place. Good position. Good breakfast. Warm (with wood salamandra). Pablo was the nicest host ever.

Próximo do centro.

Clean, cosy

N/A

Staff is excellent , really friendly and helpful everybody. Peter was our tour guide , extraordinary . Location is excellent, close to everything you need. Very nice breakfast .

Nothing .

The location of the house is quiet and not far from the main street. The owner, Peter, is a very nice person and has solved many problems for us. I would introduce it to other travelers.

Great breakfast, minimarket close by, on-site parking, drinking water supplied

No air conditioning

Gabby, the new manager, who made us a wonderful breakfast and solved problems as they occurred, and gave great advice regarding local activities. Suggest requesting the Tatio room, and declining the Puritama room. We started off in the P room but in a rare thunderstorm the roof leaked and we lost electricity. Gary moved us to the much nicer two bedroom Tatio room, which is really wonderful-nicely furnished and with an outdoor patio with table and grill. Gated secure property.

Cold shower in the Puritama room, but not the case in the Tatio. Recommend a sign outside the property- it was difficult to find. Recommend communication with guests before visit.

Quiet and comfortable place, great location just at the border of the little town and nearby a supermarket which was very handy. Peter and his wife were very kind and helpful. Breakfast is brought to your bungalow and it has a bit of everything. We really like the fact that drinking water was provided at not extra cost.

We only had hot water on the first day, afterwards we did not manage to get it back at least in one of the bungalows we stayed in. WIFI was very unreliable and too slow when it worked.

There was a convenient parking lot within a gated area very close to the center of town. It is a walkable distance to the downtown of San Pedro. The host are very friendly and helpful with recommendations for things to do in the area. The room and bathroom were clean, just dusty as it is the desert and that is to be expected. There was a cute terrace attached to the room which we enjoyed at night.

The address is correct but the entrance is not very well signaled so it was difficult to find. The room is very noisy because it’s located close to the main road. No AC or fan, so the rooms got very hot at night even with the windows open. Breakfast starts at 7.30 which restricts time to explore areas around. The breakfast portions are small. The lodge does offer a snack option to be dropped off the night before but it is very simple. When we arrived, there was no potable water bottle available to us. The host said that the water would be delivered during the second day of our stay but that did not occur.

The breakfast

The Cabins where very warm over the night. Unfortunately we'd to pay the tax, we normally didn't have to pay in Chile.

Beautiful property with cozy and comfortable apartments located in a quiet area and just two blocks to main Street (Calle caracoles). Fresh and delicious breakfast. Impeccable service! Congratulations to Piter, he is the best host ever!!!

Spacious, hot water and location is a few min walk to restaurants. Also, it was a quiet location.

Nothing much

The rooms were pretty decent.

We were concerned for our safety at this property. The manager who worked there harassed us very rudely, threatened to physically assault me and then asked us to leave immediately early in the morning. We had to pack our belongings within 10 minutes and leave before 9am. The property should be banned from reputed online booking platforms. No one should be subjected to such harassment and threatening behavior by a property manager.

Loved this place. So comfortable. Beautiful breakfast brought to you in the morning. Peter was so helpful and hospitable.

Nothing to not like

The staff was very nice.

There told us they had a pool, when we got there there was no pool and no place to be outside the bedroom. The hotel does not have any amenities and its not cheap. The room was clean, but the towels were dirty and when I asked for another one they told me I couldn’t have it.

The beds were comfortable, water was provided which was a nice add on! Breakfast was also good.

We found the manager to be rude and unwilling to help. The breakfast had to be requested each day at a particular time otherwise it didn’t come. We also had to ask for fresh towels, toilets rolls and the rooms to be cleaned each day. The rooms were a lot smaller than they seemed on the pictures online. The hot tubs you also have to pay for, which we didn’t find out until we arrived and it was very expensive to rent, they also only fit a maximum of 3 people. Our laundry also came back stained. The manager was responsive to messages but very begrudgingly. The showers frequently ran out of hot water, 5 people stayed and only one person ever got hot water.

Amazing staff, super helpful

Very friendly people and clean houses

They don’t have a swimming pool yet but they are going to very soon!

The accommodation was clean and comfortable. There was reliable hot water and comfy beds. In the morning a lovely breakfast was delivered to the room. Whilst there was no heating the host delivered us wood and lit the stove when we requested it. The early check in was appreciated, as was storing out bags for a few hours and arranging laundry.

The wifi was very slow and unreliable

Breakfast was great!

Great stay! Service was great; breakfast was fantastic. They cooked for us and delivered the food to our room on a tray, with tons of options (including for us vegetarians). Room was super clean, and I liked the style. Location was ideal too. It's outside the center of town, so it's quiet at night and you can see stars, but you can be in town in 5 minutes on foot -- it's not way out there. Ideal for us. Vibes were nice too. Looks like they're in the process of adding hot tubs and a pool. Cute vibes and nice little view of volcano. Provided water too, and the kitchenette was nice. Wifi worked well. Super communicative with us via whatsapp.

I took one point off out of 10 because of the heater -- we came in the winter, and one of the reasons we stayed here was that they mentioned that each room had a heater. Seems like some rooms had very substantial heaters, but ours was just a very small space heater on wheels that didn't do much to heat the room.

The lodge is very close to the city centre and has a supermarket near by. It has a decent kitchen and two comfortables and clean rooms. it was very convenient to be with kids as we could cook some meals at home when we were tired and it was too hot to go out for lunch. We did our tours with the lodge team and it was great, Peter was our guide and he is great! we could go just our family in the car and have more flexibility, Peter explained different things about the local nature, history and even a bit of the current local arrangements. He gave us good suggestions on what to do and where to go also.

it could be fresher, we went in January it was really hot outside. There is no fan nor air conditioning. You can be inside without a problem, it is just that it would be more comfortable if it was fresher, even so it is pleasant stay.

Everything! This place is amazing, so close to the city but very quiet inside. The room is very spacious, with a super comfortable bed. Pablo is amazing in doing everything possible to make us happy. The comunnication is super fast via whatsapp. The whole staff is superb: Ariana takes care of the room every day and you come home to a clean space. Fabiola is super attentive making sure that breakfast is covered. Peter was great and kept one of our luggages when we went on a 4 day tour. The shower is powerful and hot water was never an issue. You will find everything you need in the bangalow. We loved it! Loved it! Loved it.

It’s perfect!

Pros: - location was at walking distance to Calle Caracoles, the main street in San Pedro de Atacama - room was large and clean

Cons: - although near downtown, the hotel was located on an almost empty street, full of empty lots and with no street lamps on part of the way, which made it appear unsafe at night - in addition to that, there was absolutely no sign with the name of the hotel anywhere (just a plain entrance gate, with nothing written on it, so it appeared to be a house, not a hotel), so many of the tours we hired could not find it; they had to ask us to wait in the middle of the street (which was far from ideal when one thinks most of the tours in Atacama start very early in the morning), because they could not locate the hotel and there was no point of reference - though the hotel advertised (and charged) as offering wi-fi, that was not the case, since the signal did not reach our room; when we complained, the manager (Peter) just said that we had bad luck.

Great location and pretty spacious room

Staff were hard to contact

For a winter stay, the room heating is not great

Perfect location, close enough to the city center to have a very nice walk, but far away to escape from all the noise. Really cool place, nice atmosphere and Alejandra was a very good host. I recommend it completely. We stayed at the bungalow, we had a great queen bed, satelite TV, fully equiped kitchen, minibar and even a BBQ with a nice table to sit and have breakfast.

It would've been great to have the hot tub going when we were there. I guess now we need to come back!.

clean when we arrived - nice looking property ans spacious. good kitchen facilities

Very very close to the main road so noisy. very hot at night but you couldn't open windows as mosquitos would come in- need netting on windows. not a very nice place to relax outside in the day due to noise

Lovely little bungalow. Clean. Comfortable. Nice staff. Short walk from town.

They were slow to come and let us in and our driver had to phone them twice. Cooker not plugged in so we spent ages trying to see why it wasn’t working and we had to move the fridge to plug the cooker in! We would have liked a microwave and toaster and a tea towel. A bit dark walking to the property but they are improving the path so I assume they will add more lights.

quiet place, everithing is new and close to the downtown

everitihing it's great
