Reviewed Mar 4, 2026It was such a pleasure staying here, the place was immaculate and looked just the same as the photos. Louis and Marie were so helpful and seemed to have thought of everything a guest would need. It was only a 10 minute walk to shops and cafés and also to Long Bay beach (note it is a very steep walk down to the beach). We would highly recommend it.

Reviewed Jan 23, 2026We have stayed here before and it is a perfect base for visiting in and around Auckland. It is equipped wigh everthing a travellor needs. It's the lovely touches like coffee, washing powder, tea etc. Marie and Louis are very good hosts. Long beach is a very short walk and there are plenty of shops in Torbay.

Reviewed Nov 19, 2025We are from the UK , our son and his family live about 5 minutes drive away, so the position was perfect. There are also shops and a very good cafe a couple of minutes drive away. Close at hand is lovely town of Browns bay and a little further afield the City of Auckland. I can’t fault this property, everything you could want and is spotlessly clean. Perfect hosts Louis and Marie. I can’t recommend this property highly enough, We will definitely be using them again on our next trip to New Zealand.

It is hard to fault anything. Our preference would be for firmer pillows - just to be nitpicking.

Reviewed Oct 2, 2025This is my second stay here, I can’t speak highly enough of it! There is nothing you could want for in this property. It is the most well thought out place I have ever stayed at. It is beautiful from the perspective of the vista of the trees and town and beautifully designed as well. The kitchen has all you could want for cooking and the large living space and big tv is a pleasure to dwell in. The bed feels luxurious and is so comfortable - I had the best sleeps here! The bonus is the bathroom with the heated floors and the bath! Marie and Louis are the most incredible hosts and I can’t wait to stay here again!
I didn’t like that I had to leave the property at the end of my stay! Other than that, couldn’t fault it!

The bathroom facilities are superbly appointed and there are laundry facilities too.the bed is comfortable and all is very well appointed to a high standard. The outside has a well sited deck and there’s a barbecue at the rear of the property. Louis, the owner was very helpful and friendly and couldn’t do enough for you! All in all the ideal, restful getaway for a short or longer stay in lovely residential Torbay

Reviewed Apr 25, 2024Beautiful, clean, comfortable, warm and everything you could need in a holiday accommodation. Loved the under floor heating in the bathroom. All the little things made a huge difference. Louis and Marie were great hosts and were even worried that we had a bad day of weather.
The parking and entrance to the property were the only things that were a bit tricky, however not enough to put you off.

Reviewed Oct 31, 2023The location is in one word: breathtaking. A piece of paradise surrounded by trees. Truly a place to relax and enjoy tranquility. Absolutely fabulous property, equipped with all conveniences possible. Communication with the hosts was easy and smooth: fast responses to WhatsApp messages. The accomodation was super clean. Can not think of anything we would need and was not there. Luxurious bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, very comfortable beds and a very tastefully decorated lounge. Shops and restaurants nearby within a 10 minute walk. We would definitely like to stay here again in the future!
Can not think of anything that could be improved. The power outlet for the use of e.g. a hair dryer or electric shaver in the bathroom is a bit conceiled though, but after a brief search was found under the sink work top.

I was there in the winter and it was very warm; in the summer, it has the shade and the outside space to be very comfortable. The hosts were friendly, helpful and equally happy to stay in the background. Very quiet too: it was lovely to share the space with a tui again!

Reviewed Jun 1, 2023Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We had the place to ourselves and this was separate from the main dwelling. We really felt we were in the tree tops! We had our own parking spot which was off the street next to the property. The washing machine and dryer were very useful as it rained quite a bit whilst we were there. Having a bath in addition to the shower was lovely for relaxation. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect as it was only a 5 minute walk to Long Bay Regional Park.

I would not hesitate to recommend this 5 star property to anybody but be quick as I think its a rare find, we were only lucky enough to secure a last minute booking due to an unfortunate cancellation from some overseas travellers. 10 out of 10 for every aspect of this wonderful place 😁

The setting is lovely, being amongst the trees and listening to the local wildlife. The home had everything that you would require and more!
