Mokkoji Pension

We had such a wonderful stay at Mokkoji Pension. This was honestly one of the best places we visited during our trip to Korea. The room was super clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. We had everything we needed. The view from the property was beautiful, and the surrounding nature was incredibly peaceful. The location was also lovely, with a temple nearby, beautiful tea fields, and restaurants within walking distance. It was the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the countryside. The host was absolutely wonderful very warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind. He made us feel very comfortable from the moment we arrived and even gave us some of his own makgeolli, which was one of the best we tasted in Korea! We also enjoyed the jacuzzi with hot water, which was such a relaxing and refreshing experience after our time hiking in Jirisan. For us, this was more than just a place to stay. It was a peaceful retreat that helped us relax, clear our minds, and relieve a lot of the stress we had been carrying. The beautiful nature, quiet surroundings, comfortable room, and kindness of the host made a real difference. We would absolutely recommend Mokkoji Pension to anyone visiting the Jirisan area. We would happily come back again truly one of the most memorable stays of our trip.

Un peu vieillissant

J'ai adoré l'accueil par les petits chiots, cela m'a fait du bien car mon chien me manquait. Le gestionnaire jouait du saxophone alors que j'arrivais, c'était fort sympathique. La chambre était grande, impeccable et propre. La vue était superbe.

La décoration était un peu surannée, le rez de chaussée faisait un peu fouillis, je n'ai pas vu de supérette à proximité, et l'hôtel était peu fréquenté. Néanmoins, un café de qualité se trouvait pas très loin.

Everything: (1) great Location: 6km easy drive up the valley from the Hwagye Village (shops, big market, restaurants, cafes), about 2km from the Ssanggyesa Budhist Temple (2 tracks start from there, one to Buril Falls) - lovely valley with tea plantations at the foot hills of the Jirisan National Park. A week’s worth of decent hiking within easy drive of the house; about an hour drive to the coast (check Suncheon National Garden + Wetlands combo! well worth the visit!!) (2) Facilities: two large very comfy beds, kitchenette with stove, fridge/freezer, rice cooker, large TV, good wifi, large bathroom with shower + toilet, another large room with Jacuzzi, Shower, table+4 chairs, barbecue; washing machine, ample parking; squeaky clean; (3) owner very friendly and helpful, he would supply us with home made rice beer (not sure what it was but it tasted very nice) and was always available to help if need was; (4) very little traffic, virtually none during the night, some dog barking up-and-down the valley, but nothing light earplugs wouldn’t fix;

이 주변에 적당한 숙소가 별로 없어서 이곳에서 숙박하게 됐지만, 너무 좋은 숙박이었습니다. 월풀욕조에서 피로를 씻을 수 있었고, 간단한 요리를 할수도 있어서 좋았습니다. 엄청나게 세련된 시설은 아니었지만, 정감있고, 사장님의 손길과 정성이 느껴지는 펜션이었습니다.

전기차 충전기가 고장나있었는데, 고쳐지면 좋을것 같습니다.

🇫🇷Axelle&Dylan🇫🇷 Nous avons vraiment adoré notre séjour dans ce logement. L’hôte est une personne extrêmement gentille, accueillante et très attentionnée. Nous avons été reçus avec beaucoup de bienveillance et il a même pris le temps de nous aider avec notre linge ainsi que pour trouver une solution pour notre bus de départ, ce qui a été très apprécié. Le logement était très agréable et nous nous y sommes sentis très bien. Petit conseil pour les futurs voyageurs : les bus locaux peuvent être un peu compliqués à comprendre sans préparation, donc il vaut mieux vérifier les trajets à l’avance ou idéalement avoir une voiture. Merci encore pour cet accueil chaleureux, nous recommandons sans hésiter !

ホストがとても親切でした。部屋は広く清潔で、半室内のバルコニーには、大きなバスタブもありました。

車が無いと行きにくい場所です。

Das Zimmer war außergewöhnlich groß und sauber. Es gab sogar einen Whirlpool. Der Ausblick auf den Fluss und die Berge konnte man sogar bei starkem Regen bewundern.

Es ist alles etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

온천수가 나오는 월풀목욕은 피로 풀기에 좋았고,침대가 허리가 너무 편했어요. 모든 객실이 2층에 있어, 층간 소음도 없고 조용했어요. 집안 살림이 부족하게 느껴질만한 불편함이 없었구요, 사장님도 너무 친절하시고 예의가 바르세요. 재방문 의사 있습니다.

We had an exceptional stay at this hotel: a spacious room, mountain view, and a small kitchen. The hotel owner was very friendly and helped us a lot several times.

This place is in the middle of Jirisan National park. There’s a river and cherry blossom road on the way there. The parking is free and huge. The pension i nearby traditional market, temple and a waterfall. The room is huge, clean with small kitchen. The host was friendly and offered us a pot of makgeolli

The host is very friendly & helpful. The water in the bath was great. big room.

I did not get the welcome drink like the other guests. the dogs outside kept waking me up in the night. it would be great to have fresh new soap in the bathroom.

We loved our stay here! The hosts went out of their way to make our stay in Hadong seamless and enjoyable. Our travel in Hadong was made possible all thanks to the hosts. They helped us with the booking of the local taxi tour, which enabled us to get around. For dinner, they also helped to set up the bbq set at the balcony of our room, and we had a cosy and delicious bbq dinner. We highly recommend this place!

The room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The owners were very kind - they took me and another group of guests hiking on a nearby mountain, then brought me to meet a local tea producer. I only stayed for one night this time, but I hope I can visit again in the future!

The host was REALLY kind. He even brought us some makkeoli (traditional Korean alcoholic rice drink). The host was quick to respond to my messages. The room was big, clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Nice location in beautiful Hadong.

This is just a suggestion for the host: For the cost, I think some simple breakfast items in the fridge would be a great addition. During our trip in Korea, we stayed in similar pensions/guesthouses and paid a similar price, and those other guesthouses included some simple breakfast items. For example, cereal and non-dairy milk, jook 죽 (rice porridge) for the microwave, canned fruit, and some instant coffee. Simple and low cost, and I think guests would appreciate it.

Beautiful surrounding, spacious room, clean, comfy beds, friendly and kind Owner. He allowed us to use the dinning room, the Driver cooked Pancake for us. Owners gave us rice wine free. He shared lots of Hadong information with us. A great place to visit.

The front door was a little weird trying to get in and out early in the morning. We had to unlock it.

Really nice comfortable room for a family of 5. 2 bathrooms with a spa bath, so much more than we expected! Also very friendly host.

The property was clean and well equipped. Enjoyed the bbq although it was really cold to have dinner in bbq area. So we bbq and brought in the main room.

there’s a small hiccup with check in but otherwise the host was nice.

The owner is friendly and helpful. He provided us with restaurant suggestions in the area and even showed us the way (drove with us) to one of the restaurants nearby when I was not able to key it in my car navigation system. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Cute pup on the property too! (though I always get anxious whenever it runs onto the driveway)
