Plenty of space but yet had such a cosy feeling. Gorgeous garden space for pets or kids to play in or just to relax in the sun by the garden chairs and table. Lovely and peaceful especially coming from a noisy polluted city. The fresh air was like a tonic. Plenty of extras added like washing pods, pegs, shampoo, soap, some kitchen basics etc. and crisp clean white towels. Cows and horses in fields nearby to say hello to too. Stephanie the host was so helpful, friendly and available to help out with any questions at any time if needed.
Only point I could make and its not a bad one was there was no microwave. Not the end of the world by all means and can be very easily fixed. Otherwise everything you could possibly need in kitchen was available. Including an air fryer and outdoor BBQ.
Old world charm, cozy
Hard to get your car in from main road, it was a tight squeeze.
Such a lovely cottage, well equipped and spacious
Nothing
Spacious and great for dogs. Very comfy and clean.
Fab area cottage was cute and beds comfy
Lots of dust and cobwebs, broken socket by the bed in double room front was loose no screws in it. Also rising damp and mould on some of older walls Windows were dirty and hard to open.. garden plants were very overgrown grass was cut but the shrubs were totally surrounding the kitchen and bathroom with the result lots of flys coming into the house. Property Didn't match the photos it was rundown and could do with an upgrade
Ancaire cottage is a beautiful, large old farmhouse in the wild countryside very close to the coast near Schull. Its rustic charm is so warm and inviting and also so close to many sites to explore. Stephanie has provided a beautiful and well thought out place to call home for a few days; all of your needs are anticipated. It’s clean and comfortable and beautifully decorated. There are even books and games provided though there are so many interesting places to explore nearby.
charming, lovely and Squeaky clean
Very cosy and warm
Could do with some breakfast bowls
The host. The location. Excellent stay overall.
The most charming country cottage, beautifully decorated, and located in the quiet countryside, yet so close to Schull as well. We loved the private garden we had, and it was perfect for our dogs to run around. Full kitchen facilities, and so handy to have laundry facilities too! It was literally part of the original home, not built on as a guest house or anything, so it was warm and cosy and very charming.
Such a cute yet spacious cottage! Like straight from a movie! Super cozy. We loved the remote, rural location. However, it’s just a couple of minutes drive from Schull. Stephanie, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. Can highly recommend!
Nothing!
A cosy, beautiful and very Irish cottage in a beautiful part of Ireland. Easily accessible to the wild Atlantic way coast.
Ancaire cottage is full of character, comfortable and homely. homely. Stephanie is a warm and welcoming host who went out of her way to make us feel welcome.
Nothing negative to report
The accommodation was beyond our expectations. We each had our dogs (3), and they had a wonderful time, too. They were safe to run free in the lovely, enclosed private garden. The walk to the ocean is only 20 mins down the road. Even though it was raining, it didn't take away from the experience, and the scenery was stunning. Stephanie, our host, met us to hand over the keys and gave us our space during our stay, but was also available if we needed anything. She was generous with wood for the fire and had made the cottage cosy for us on arrival. We loved it here and will be back again. Thank you, Stephanie!
the location, the house, and the interior decor
It was too cold, even with the heating on almost all the time (except at night, as the heating was really noisy in the bedroom). If we come back, it will be during the summer.
Gorgeous cottage, so comfortable with a lovely fire! Wanted to move in. 🥰
Cosy, Great location and wonderful location.
Cottage molto carino, pulito, in mezzo al verde irlandese
A wonderful cottage in the countryside. Peaceful and quiet. The bedrooms are large and spacious, with big beds and comfortable mattresses. We really liked the fireplace in the living room, which added a great atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge. Everything was clean. We had a very pleasant three-day stay. Very good communication with the owner
Perfectly located and in a quiet location it has everything needed for a lovely weekend stay. We brought our 3 year old dog with us and she had a lovely time, this was our second time here and it was as lovely as ever!
Nothing
We had a very comfortable stay in Ancaire Cottage. Steph is a fantastic host and the house is very well equipped. The location is excellent - tucked away with private space to sit outside in good weather but with lots of lovely walks from the door. Local shops 10-20 mins away.
It was beautifully done a classic cottage with simple yet elegant interior it was like coming home as soon as we arrived. The beds were super comfy and all our needs were met, Stephanie has thought of everything someone might need for a comfortable and welcoming stay! She was always on hand but also gave us privacy. She was super warm and hospitable which matches the cottage and the friendly locals in that part of Ireland! Thanks so much Stephanie
What a peaceful place! Great location in Schull about 30 mins from Mizen Head on Atlantic Way. Stephanie was so lovely and her cottage was well stocked. Was so thankful for laundry facilities! Would come again!
Nothing
Everything, so easy and cozy. Beautiful countryside and a wonderful welcome from Stephanie.
Location was great, comfortable bed and lovely cottage
Shower wasn't great and no microwave,
Location, environment, host, guests
Patchy wifi but all workable
Tutto perfetto. La posizione isolata necessita una macchina. La città più grande vicina è Cork.
Excellent location very quite
Comfortable and clean
Thoughtful touches from the host
Ancaire Cottage is situated in the countryside near the township of Schull. Our self contained stone cottage adjoining the main home was spacious, quiet, clean with a comfortable bed. The washing machine, drier and kitchen were great. It was lovely looking out onto trees and the surrounding farmland. We recommend staying at Ancaire Cottage.
Fantastic accommodation. Had everything we needed. Lovely area. Would definitely return.
Lovely break in beautiful surroundings
My wife and I, together with our two daughters, had a wonderful stay at the cottage. The building itself is very comfortable and quaint with everything a guest would need. The setting, too, is idyllic. Stephanie was very friendly and a pleasure to deal. We are already planning a return stay!
Lovely spacious accommodation and hosts Lovely
Nothing enjoyable stay
the cottage was perfect...there was a homely feeling...it was spotless.....comfortable...all i can say is it was perfect...just perfect
nothing
We had a late arrival so host left door open for us
The house was beautiful, clean, fully equipped, cosy and the bed was the best night sleep outside my own.The gorgeous inclosed garden was perfect for our little dog to enjoy. The location was ideal for our Cork excursions.
Highly recommend this place.
Gorgeous location, friendly host, cute cottage
The bathroom light needs fixing, it flicks on and off sometimes. Otherwise, everything was perfect
Very spacious, comfortable, peaceful setting. Stephanie was very friendly and welcoming and very informative about the local area which is stunning. Ideal location to nearby beaches, Schull, Mizen Head and beyond. Accommodation has it's own private patio and garden which is a lovely bonus. Will definitely stay again when visiting West Cork. Really enjoyed our stay.
Everything was great..no faults whatsoever.
Lovely location for walking nice and peaceful
Great location. Lots of space. Friendly hosts. Dog friendly.
Lovely cottage , lovely quality inside. Enjoyed the extras, flowers, milk, home style fruit bread, etc. Very very peaceful with little self contained garden, good for our small dog.
A lot of space, which is nice if you go to Ireland in a periode you can expect a lot of rain. Very warm welcome.
The shower was crazy hot or really cold.
A little off the beaten path (a plus), this is a beutifully renovated hay loft structure over 200 years old. We were looking for something out of the ordinary, and this place really hit the mark with historical ambiance. There is a large eat-in kitchen and 2 generously sized bedrooms (one up, one down).
I liked this place a lot, and it has character galore. Those with mobility issues though best take care and utilize the downstairs bedroom as the stairs are a bit narrow and loo is located downstairs.
Beautiful area, spacious, lovely beds, private garden for our dog Ken
Oven didn't work properly. Took about an hour to cook a garlic baguette 😅
Beautifully restored old Irish cottage
Had such a lovely stay the cottage was spotless, we had everything there tea, coffee, milk, sugar, fresh towels . Such a lovely welcome . I wish we could have stayed longer. I would definitely recommend a stay here and would revisit.
The cottage was beautiful and so private and the scenery and location was amazing
Very rural Lovely enclosed garden for dog
Oven did not heat up sufficiently to cook a ready meal and no microwave. The roads are very narrow and appear quiet but we encountered boy racers in the evening so take care if walking dog.
Easy, relaxed
Lovely location. Cottage had everything u need and more. Host is a lovely lady
A bit far out of Schull. It's about 5km from village up a narrow road. Not an easy drive at night. There is a taxi service available if u need it after a few drinks
A lovely location and property, nicely renovated. A relaxing garden that was safe for our dog.
nothing
The area was lovely. The privacy of the little cottage with it's own garden. The bed was comfortable. The house was cosy
A lovely clean and comfortable cottage with everything we needed for a nice short family stay. Conveniently located between the villages of Schull & Ballydehob (for shops/cafes ect.) a short drive of abput 5km to each village. The host Stephanie was very nice and greeted us in person on arrival chatting with us and showing us around the house. The region itself is very beautiful with a lot of lovely scenery, we travelled also to Mizen head (approx 30 -40 minutes drive from the cottage) which had amzing views. Good overall value for money!
Other than the mixed weather which cannot be accounted for as we know in our Island, there was little not to like about the cottage and the peace and quiet. If I was being really picky perhaps a bigger TV would be good!
The cottage was just fabulous, it had everything we needed and more! We really enjoyed our stay, it was perfect for a few rainy days and so very cosy and very spacious, the kids enjoyed it too as they had a huge room! We did not want to leave...
