The towels were very worn and scratchy. Could not find a hair dryer. The front door lock was difficult to use with the provided key. While location was important there was no nearby larger or restaurant other than the Forge.

My experience at Kathleen Haven was disappointing. The property was advertised as having three bedrooms, but upon arrival, the third bedroom was locked and unavailable for use. I was then asked to pay extra to have another room opened, which was unexpected and did not match the original listing. Clear and accurate information about room availability should be provided before booking to avoid inconvenience and additional costs for guests. I hope this issue is addressed for future visitors.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Location was 10 mins in car from where rest of our family was staying in Ballyheigue. Quiet area. Parking was on street but there were few cars so not bad. Great to have teabags and sugar etc provided and there was milk left in the fridge for us which we were grateful for.
The only 1 tiny thing I'd suggest is a toilet roll holder in bathroom. Other than that all was great.

Хозяева заранее позаботились об отоплении, мы приехали в тёплый дом, что было особенно приятно. Также был подготовлен подробный список мест для посещения в регионе: достопримечательности, рестораны, пабы, кафе и магазины. Остались очень довольны, с удовольствием остановились бы здесь снова. Поздно вечером ездили к океану. 5 минут машиной. Магазин рядом с домом.

We had difficulty figuring out the heating but since the weather was still warm, this wasn't a problem. A couple of lamps downstairs would add a lot to the ambiance, the main lights are a bit harsh at night.

Reviewed Aug 21, 2025Lovely location. Quiet but with local amenities. Rooms were comfortable. Clean and well kept. Kathleen phoned when we were on our way to the cottage and gave us useful tips on how to make the most of our stay.... the Whistling Donkeys were playing in Tralee for the Rose of Tralee competition. The bed linen, towels and tea and coffee making facilities were welcoming. Thank you Kathleen.
There was no sign of a washing machine and airer/ drying facilities which could have been useful. Useful information was emailed/ laminated on the wall but a folder may have been useful with bin information, where facilities were, instructions etc. A postcode included in the check-in information would have been helpful

Reviewed Aug 15, 2025Lovely little house on the edge of the village in a quiet crescent. All the facilities that you need for a short stay. Comfortable and enough space for a small family. Child locks and protection against trapped fingers on the doors.
A very small thing: the directions on SatNav took us to the rear of the property.

Some form of instructions for use of the cooker for hot water would have been highly appreciated as travellers from our part of the world have not seen them in the flesh let alone used them. Same applies to the small instantaneous water heaters in the shower.
