Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Our stay at Ytterviks Rorbu was absolute perfection and easily one of the best accommodation choices in Lofoten. The rorbu itself is brand new, modern, bright, and spotlessly clean, with a comfortable, thoughtful layout and lovely water views.
The location is ideal—conveniently close to Leknes and local shops, making it effortless to explore both ends of the Lofoten Islands. Having access to the private sauna was a fantastic treat after a long day of exploring, and having EV charging right on site made logistics completely stress-free. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a seamless stay.
Above all, the host was incredible—thoughtful, responsive, kind, and truly accommodating. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Ytterviks Rorbu to anyone visiting the area!

Located in a quiet fisking village, but not far from Leknes. Bathroom is with sauna, which is perfect for relaxing after a day of driving. Even get a glass fishing ball as a grift.

Reviewed Jul 18, 2026Das Häuschen war sehr sauber und ordentlich. Die Lage ist total schön. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter verlief problemlos. Auf Fragen wurde unverzüglich geantwortet.
Hier gibt es nichts.
Stort och bekväma sängar. Bra kök. Allt funkade såå smidigt.

Reviewed Jun 29, 2026The accommodation exceeded all of our expectations by far. We were delighted with the spacious living room, the adjoining fully equipped kitchen, and the two comfortable bedrooms. The value for money was excellent.
After long and eventful days exploring the surrounding area, the apartment provided the perfect place to relax and unwind in a peaceful atmosphere.
The check-in process and key handover were very straightforward. Since we wanted to make the most of the midnight sun and spent a wonderful day and evening outdoors, the key was left for us, allowing us to arrive at the house at around 3:00 a.m. without any inconvenience.
One of the highlights of our stay was the large, well-equipped kitchen. It had everything we could possibly need, with all the cooking utensils provided, making it easy and enjoyable to prepare our meals each evening. Nothing was lacking

Lovely, well equipped cabin in a quiet area of town. Walking distance to the town supermarket, go explore the WW2 defences in the hill above the hut.
No negatives. For those who need pitch dark to sleep, bring an eye mask in summer

Rune está pendiente por mensajes de todo.

Ein sehr guter Ort, um Lofoten in allen Richtungen zu erkunden. Wir haben 10 wundervolle Tage dort verbracht. Der Gastgeber Rune, mit dem wir per Nachrichten kommuniziert haben, war super freundlich, immer erreichbar, hilfsbereit und hat sehr schnell reagiert, als die Kaffeemaschine nicht funktionierte - innerhalb von 2 Stunden war eine neue da.
Alles war stimmig und hat super gepasst

Reviewed Sep 19, 2025Le logement était très propre, très agréable la vue est superbe ! Des travaux sur la route à proximité ne gênent absolument pas la visibilité de cet endroit très calme. Nous avons pu y voir des aurores boréales, cerise sur le gâteau ;).
Le jour de notre départ, les propriétaires nous ont offert un cadeau en souvenir de la Norvège. Incroyable !

Auch die Lage am Wasser war wunderschön.
Es war ruhig und man hatte den Parkplatz vor der Hütte.

Abbiamo viaggiato tanto, ma raramente abbiamo trovato una casa così completa. Inoltre, pur comunicando solo per messaggi, il proprietario Sig. Rune si é sempre dimostrato molto gentile e pronto a rispondere rapidamente alle nostre domande

Reviewed Jul 6, 2025What a dream this was! The location is so picturesque and the home so comfortably appointed. We loved Lofoten Islands and part of it was this lovely accommodation. Perfectly positioned equidistant to two grocery stores, half way between the ferry and Svolvaer, tucked away, near a spectacular mountain hike, walking distance to a restaurant, a sauna, and a bunch of art galleries - it was a joy!
There was road construction near by, so on approach it seemed a bit hectic, but once you got to the accommodation, it was quiet, peaceful and lovely.

Reviewed Jun 1, 2025Highly recommend this gem of a house. We had a wonderful week at Runes Cottage. The house is neat and clean and well equipped. The town itself is nice but the highlights are the trails around town and the beautiful shoreline. On our first night we saw Orcas passing by. The surroundings are stunning, it was magical. Thanks for everything.

We would have really appreciated it if we could have had a cup of coffee in the morning - since we only stayed for one night and most other places had coffee, we did not travel with our own coffee.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2024The house was more spacious than expected. It was clean and quiet. The kitchen was fully equipped. Garbage and recycle were separated with useful information given by the owner. Supermarket was nearby, bigger supermarkets were also not very far. Communication with owner was also easy. It was homey, comfortable and cosy. We would come back in the future.
None. Only a suggestion: maybe a small pamphlet/guide of what to do with kids or family such as short hiking, museums, etc. Also, having extra pillows would be nice.

Reviewed Sep 5, 2024We had a great stay here. The house was clean and had everything that we needed. It even had a e-charger that we could use, so it was super practical to charge our car. We would definitely come back here.
The small town does not have any good restaurants or bars. You will need to travel a little bit if you want to eat out. But it compensates with less tourists and therefore quiet evenings.

The terrace is to the backside, it’s not really sea view (check location before). Dishwasher would take away the last annoying household chore. upholstered furniture should get a cleaning, they smell “old”

Reviewed Jul 31, 2024Very nice apartment/house in general. Easy check-in (key-box). There were 2 very small sleeping rooms and one big spacy living room. We were 4 people, so it was Ok. It was kitchen with main necessary equipment. Spacy bathroom. And also terrace, which we were lucky to use due to the good weather, also with nice view. We have not walked very much around, our goal was to visit different Lofoten places. It took time to drive, but we think that it was sufficiently good choice to stay in this place (Stamsund). Anyway, you have to drive from any place if you want to visit different places. We saw food supermarket in the village, but usually we have used one in the Leknes on our way home. There were also gas station in the village. The house also has possibility to charge electric car for extra cost (we haven't used).

Reviewed Jul 28, 2023We stayed for 4 nights. The host was friendly and extremely helpful. Place was in perfect condition and had calm/relaxing feeling to it. There was a swimming possibility in a nearby Lake and a hike to a nearby Mountain was a nice activity for beginners. 5/5 experience.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2022The cabin is located nicely in the Harbour. it is quiet there and one has wonderful views on the mountains and the sea! the cabin is very cosy! the kitchen is well equipped. the bathroom is spacious and nice. parking is possible directly in front of the car. a supermarket, a restaurant and the Harbour are within walking distance!
We called the owner who lives next door. Very friendly host.
