Location was good for our visit.
We thought the property was a bit tired and the bathroom especially was in need of refurbishment .Boarded up window on stairwell. The bedrooms would benefit from bedside lamps. The outside parking area also benefit from an outside light as it was very dark when accessing and leaving the property .
L’acollida de Gerry va ser excel.lent.
Toller ruhiger Ort, leckere Sachen bei der Ankunft
The welcome was superb with essentials. Looked amazing both inside and outside. Very comfortable.
Be careful opening window at night as a lot of moths popped in!
The property is in a remote area of Co. Roscommon, which was perfect for my visit as I had family living nearby and was able to spend time with them. It’s a lovely, peaceful spot within walking distance of Bellanagare—ideal if you’re looking for some quiet time in the countryside.
Great location for us near family. Very clean and spacious. The owner was a great communicator and very accomodating. We had a wonderful stay.
Everything was great. Maybe a fan for the headroom’s might be nice in summer.
The location was very remote, and it was very cosy inside
Nothing
Historical building a lots to do in area. Host informative.
Limited in some aspects in kitchen. Water pipe noise
The property is very cute-a nice mix of the traditional building but fitted to a modern standard. The house was super cosy and is only about a ten minute drive from the amenities of the town and is surrounded by farmland and local history. The host, Gerry, is super lovely and was very excited to share the history and legends of the surrounding areas.
No complaints to be made!
Location
The location is nice. The property is clean and tidy, it has all basic facilities.
They should have added something more in food , such as a cereal or cornflakes for Breakfast.
Loved the history of the old mill and the hosts couldn't be more helpful on where could have a look at ..
Perfect location, very warm welcome.
We felt very welcomed here and it is a lovely home in the countryside not far from a village and I would highly recommend it.
So peaceful lovely area
Host Gerry provided us with fresh Eggs, Milk, Bread, Water, Tea and Coffee. We had no expectation that these would be provided and were delighted that our host should be so thoughtful.
We found no fault with the acommodation. We absolutely loved it. It was sad to miss Gerry on the final day so that we could say a face to face thankyou. However, we were aware that he was busy and so sadly missed out on saying goodbye. An absolutely delightful host.
Warm, comfortable, great location and super hosts. Provided eggs, milk soda bread, tea/coffee for our arrival.
Great location in quiet location just off N5. Upon arrival there was bread, eggs bread and milk available. Good size bedrooms and large lounge and kitchen. Central heating and internet was very good. Even though we didn't meet Gerry in person he sent plenty of detailed messages with instructions about the place and recommendations about places to visit in the area
The hosts left a supply of bread, butter, eggs and milk to get us started, we were self catering.
nothing
We loved the location. Very tranquil and quite, we woke up to the sound of cows lowing. Only a stone's throw from the N5, while off the beaten track the Old Mill is just an hour away from Westport and even closer to Sligo and Athlone. Gerry and Isabel were amazing hosts and went far beyond what one would expect from a host. We experienced some difficult circumstances during our time there and they were extremely generous in their support. A 5 star rating just doesn't do them justice. On arrival they had soda bread, eggs and milk to get us going. Internet was great and the place heated up in no time. The Old Mill is a place I would love to return to. The area is steeped in history and there is something very special about this lovely spot.
This is a beautiful old mill building that has been well fitted out. The hosts met us and were very helpful. Peaceful location but in walking distance of a pub.
Hosts were lovely and gave detailed tips on local area - we ate at one of the places they recommended and it was great. House was great - lots of charm and local features.
No milk provided when bottled water, tea, coffee were. Milk would be better to leave rather than water. Also the TV was tiny for the size of the living room area and seating arrangements. Small details and fairly minor and definitely wouldn't stop us staying again but something to consider for future. We loved the property though overall and the hosts were amazing.
The house was perfect for our family trip, location was so central. Gerry and Isobel made us feel so welcome. I would definitely return and recommend the old mill
The welcome Gerry & Isobel gave us was warm, friendly and informative, Things like the key box, heating system, history and places to visit nearby. Castlerea was 10 mins away and big enough town to supply our needs. On arrival in the house was milk, butter, bread, coffee, tea, eggs, more than enough to get us started, the patio area looked amazing, if only we had the weather to enjoy the bbq and fire pit(everything was there to start them) the house was very clean and tidy.
The only thing was the double bed springs were very noisy!
Lovely self-catering accommodation with everything you could conceivably need. Impeccably clean and very comfortable. The kitchen is great - all the equipment and utensils one would normally need. The wifi is excellent (which I wouldn't have expected given the rural location). The hosts were there to meet us when we arrived and were very friendly and helpful. A perfect place for relaxing. The house is about 10-15 minutes from Castlerea and a good base for exploring the broader region (close to Carrick-on-Shannon and Mayo.)
Everything was great. Many thanks to the hosts!
This is an exceptionally good place to stay. Affordable and clean Everything you could need for a short stay Next time we will stay longer. Perfect
Being absolutly honest. There was nothing we didn't like.
The Old Mill in Kilcorkey is a fantastic place to stay. The kitchen was well equipped to cook a meal, the lounge was cosy and the beds were very comfortable. Thank you so much for having us
Jerry and Isabelle the owners were amazing, couldn't have been more helpful and left things like eggs, milk, bread for our arrival. They even bought us some soda bread and potato cakes which was completely unexpected because my wife mentioned it in chatting, which was an amazing personal touch. Looking out at cows first thing in a morning and last thing at night was lovely. Great, quiet, location within 10 minutes drive of Castlerea with a supermarket and a few nice pubs for food. Two minutes drive to one of the major roads straight into Dublin made travelling very easy.
Nothing.
quiet get away
the smell of damp, but to be fair that’s to be expected of an old mill where water is under and around the building
Nice rural location. spacious property, lovely outside area, host provided basic essentials for breakfast which were very welcome
It is has all the facilities and cleanliness is very good in this property it is in a nice location with views and a nice spot too to take a walk.A comfortable clean and tidy and nice spot. All in all it is a recommendable spot to choose to get away for a relaxing break and within reach of places to travel on further.
Nothing not to like. It is a satisfactory property to choose.
All great, recommend it. Shame we arrived late and had to leave early as it has beautiful living room to stay and chill next to (gas) nice fireplace & barbecue outside. Thanks
beautiful place to stay!
