The location by the lake is really amazing, and as long as you have a car it is a good base for exploring the Cotswolds. The place is very spacious with the downstairs kitchen and living area, plus outdoor terrace, and the three double bedrooms upstairs. The kitchen was well equipped (inc. dishwasher), and there were also a washing maching and tumble dryer in the downstairs bathroom (which we did not use). The hot tub outside is a nice addition! Convenience store located a short drive away, so all in all an excellent place for anyone who prefers a self-catering apartment style lodging. Host was also easy to communicate with.
I don't recall if it was specified, but there was no shower gel in any of the bathrooms (only hand soap). There were lots of midges due to the lake, and the windows were not fitted with insect screens (but we later found these in one of the storage spaces) so we initially had to keep all apertures closed all the time as midges were entering as soon as we opened. Also we would have liked to kayak on the lake, but this was difficult to organise as we did not want to rent a kayak for all four days of our stay, but it seemed that the host needed us to advise on which half-day we would be needing the kayak whereas we would have preferred to just have this available to go for a paddle on the spur of the moment. Considering the price of the property, and that they offer kayaks to rent, I feel it would have been nice to have kayaks/paddle boards included in the price and available for guests to use there and then.
The house and views were stunning. Family loved the jacuzzi. I loved the fishing from the pontoon. Plus caught a 15 lb pike. Loads of decent walks nearby.
Nothing really ...some coat hooks downstairs would be useful.

Areas to consider
Cleanliness
8.5/10Bathrooms lacked shower gel (only hand soap) and initial absence of insect screens led to midges entering until screens were located, so minor cleanliness/comfort issues.
Service
9.2/10Host was easy to communicate with and responsive, facilitating check-in and coordination.
Location
9.5/10Excellent lakeside setting and a good base for exploring the Cotswolds by car; location is a standout feature.
Room Quality
9.3/10Very spacious layout with downstairs kitchen and living area, outdoor terrace and three double bedrooms upstairs — comfortable and well laid out.
Amenities
9/10Well-equipped kitchen (incl. dishwasher), washing machine and tumble dryer, and an outdoor hot tub; however kayak access/booking was inconvenient and insect-screening was not immediately available.
Value for Money
8.5/10Generally good but guest felt that given the price, kayaks/paddleboards should be included rather than rented separately, slightly reducing perceived value.
Food and Beverage
9/10Standard quality for this hotel tier
Overall Experience
9/10All in all an excellent self-catering stay with great location and space; minor issues (midges, kayak logistics, toiletries) did not significantly detract from the stay.
