We loved everything about the house..
The location was great. It was near the town, the harbour and the golf course. The decor was nice.
NEVER AGAIN! This rental has good decor and that is where the positives stop. We were sent a message stating check-in was delayed until 5pm. I was on the road and did not see it. There were 3 sinks in the home and only one hand wash container. A chair was broekn. Many of the DVD's were behind the TV set-up and unreachable. The TV only had regular TV channels, no apps available to login to. Both showers had mould. No garbage bags. No kitchen towels. Ice tray was not filled with water. We were told that towels would not be provided so lugged them with us on the trip, towels were in fact provided. Ping ping table did not have balls and the paddles were broken, The outdoor patio seating was covered but in a way where the water had got caught and to try and recifify and empty the water, would have given us a bath.

Bathroom facilities
House was lovely clean and perfect for a family
Location on outskirts no shops 7 min drive to one.
Location
The property was neglected and grubby. Paintwork throughout the house was very dirty and had a lot of stains on walls, stairs and ceilings. In need of a deep clean and freshening up throughout. rug was full of dog hair. Throws on sofas covering stains. Some marks on bed Clothes and pillows. Spare pillows had no pillowcases.Top grill/oven not working. Shower in main bathroom cannot be regulated. We couldn’t use it at all as we were being scalded. Fan in en-suite not working so walls are destroyed with marks of condensation/water running down walls. Wall heater in main bedroom makes banging noise when on. Bed is broken. Some blinds missing. Chair in sun room broken. Back garden unkept. We had ants in the kitchen and hall during our stay but there was a bottle of ant powder under the sink for our use.
I really hate to give a bad review as this is clearly someone's pesonal property/house and I have mulled this over for some time before doing so but in the end felt we had a duty. Just sorry that I did not write this earlier in case other people booked between our stay and this review but there really was very little to praise. After the first 24 hours was actually very warm. Initially freezing cold and although they had put the heating on it took almost a day to warm up to the point where we did not have to sit in our coats. There was a sold-fuel fire but for reasons given below (and the fact that we have never used one) we did not light it. Good supply of hot water, sofa was comfy. It was quiet and secure. Nice crockery. Did have recycling but no notes as to what was accepted in recycling; ALL plastics? Glass, food waste? etc
In our opinion COMPLETELY UNSUITABLE for letting - please read and see photos. The whole property was in a poor state of repair and grubby. Peeling paint, black mould and stains throughout. Cookware greasy (meat) and a rusty toaster. Kettle was scaled up. No instructions for heating/appliances (TV, Washing machine, dishwasher) or recycling. Hole in front door. Hole in bedroom door. Weak shower (albeit warm) and hard to turn on. Bedding was stained. Pillows all with heavy sweat marks and "white" stains on black sheets. To the point that I slept ON the bed rather than in it! Bed frame was broken (worried it might collapse) Broken blind so people could see in constantly. Overlooked by another house at night. Not many people around on site when we were here but could be a real issue in the summer. Most window locks broken. Loose tap fitting. Radiator in bedroom made constant but intermittent knocking noise. Far too much clutter - too many beds/too much furniture. Did have a washing machine but no dryer. There was a (unheated) airer but in early March not a lot of use. This was bad enough but some of it was downright dangerous: Old/outdated fire equipment. 27 year-old fire extinguisher (dated 1999) with no sign of any service since then and smoke alarm old and stained. Knob on stove was loose and did not work. The hotplate consequently remained on permanently until we switched it off at the wall. No note left to warn us of this. Bad enough for us but if a small child had touched it... Towel radiator far too hot. I burned myself at least twice - again see for children. Loose/hanging light fittings in hallway and kitchen. Genuinely the only booking I have ever made where we considered taking the hit and leaving after the first night but we had a spent a lot of money on a long booking and we were out most of the day so stayed.
Location
The floors were dirty not clenaed under the couch, it snelt musty & the bunk beds are not fit for purpose, the wall behind the stove has all the paimt peeling off & is the first thing you see when you walk in the door .
The house was gorgeous , in a lovely area . Very clean and well equipped .
Loved everything , the only thing is very early check out time but couldn’t fault anything else .
Lovely location with walks to the beach through the golf course.
Secure for dogs. Lovely garden. Cosy, warm and clean house. Great location next to a beautiful beach.
Nothing
Great Location for access to a lovely Beach and IOAC Adventure Centre and in general a great location for visiting Wexford. It is an ideal location for a young family as there was playground, tennis court and football pitch on site. It was also really nice to be able to stroll to the pub and for a tipple and some food in the Golf Clubhouse onsite.
The shower in the main bathroom was very difficult to turn on the first two times I used it. I could not turn it at all after the second time. While previous reviews said that it was ideal and safe for a dog, we didn't find this we have a small dog so she could easily get out under the fence and the side gate would not close
Table tennis, location to beach, playground and tennis court. Lovely garden table also.
The bedrooms had very bad odours, carpets were badly stained and the bedding smelled of BO. It gave a very unclean and unsettling feeling. Sofas were badly stained with odours. Main shower is on the verge of breaking, difficult to use. Many windows in the kitchen and conservatory wouldn’t open and this made the room extremely warm and stuffy. No towels provided. No hand soap. Garden unkempt , and patio filthy. Garden gate and fence not secure for small dogs.
This is an excellent property. It is our second time to stay in it. What makes it even more fabulous is that we can bring our Golden Retriever with us. It's a beautiful and very comfortable house in a lovely location We would highly recommend this property.
Absolutely nothing it was wonderful.
Property was very clean and had all that we needed, kitchen was very well kitted out. Great location and the beach near by was stunning.
Nothing, cannot fault it.
Very modern and clean, sky plus very handy, comfortable beds,
No toilet paper caused a few issues on the first night. No real security stopping people from entering back garden
The beds and couches were comfortable. They had a huge DVD collection. The kitchen was well stocked.
In the arrival instructions, they stated they don't provide towels. After explaining we were international travelers, they did make an exception and provide them. The house was very cluttered, dusty and felt neglected. They only provided 2 small trash bags, 3 rolls of toilet paper and hardly any hand soap for a week stay.
The property accommodated all of us including our doggie very easily. The kitchen is well equipped along with a couple of kettle BBQs outside, we were very lucky to be able to have a BBQ session! The best feature of this property would be that the beach is walkable within 20 minutes through the estate and golf course :D Would definitely recommend~~~
Enough room for 6. Nice beach not too far. Parking right in front.
Garden gate and fence was broken and on the ground. Food was left in the oven from the last user.
Could not have been better
Nothing, it was perfect. We had ages 1 to 60.and it was perfect for all ages
Location
Ruth is an exceptional host with a great home away from home. The house has 5 bedrooms - one with an ensuite - the beds are very comfortable- 4 kids (all teens) and 2 Adults all had a ball. I highly recommend The Lobster Pot for dinner a few minutes drive away- The house is close to all amenities- 4 minutes drive to local store A few minuted walk to the local beach ⛱️ I've already contacted Ruth for our next stay
It could have been sunnier 😅🤣 Seriously though Nothing to complain about 😉
Excellent stay at the cottage- cosy and clean. Very welcoming and felt like a home from home. Lots of activities to keep the kids busy and the dogs were safe in the garden to play. Outdoor seating was fab and we enjoyed the table tennis! Fantastic location for a beach get away and easy distance from nearby villages and towns for coffee stops/food/shopping etc. <1km walk to a very beautiful beach and golf club.
Ideal for a family with young children. Close to the beach. Lovely location
It was easy, we followed the instructions given to us by the host.
We had an unexpected visitor but overall an excellent stay.
Thank you very much
Spacious open plan area bedrooms one and two webefsre nicely done.
Mattrass on the bunk beds were stained spare pillows also stained. The fence at side and rear of the property could do with a lick of paint
House was equipped very well with everything you could think of , even games & table tennis, out door seating . Just perfect & short walk to lovely beech. Lovely & quiet at night & comfortable beds
Very comfortable house in a beautiful laid out village.
Ten minutes walk from the beach, so nice to get a dog friendly house, very secure garden for them. House was spotless. Spacious living area, great TV set up including sky box and comfy sofas. Kids were delighted with the games toys and jigsaws. Playground right across from house was also a huge hit. Host very friendly and helpful.
Only draw back was there was no bath
Generally well equipped cottage, easy to reach by car and close to the beach and St. Helens golf course.
Just before we arrived we have received the information that towels are not available and we have to bring our own. As we have already departed to our journey we had to buy towels in Ireland. This information I cannot find on booking! The washing machine was filled with some old foot towels. For both bathrooms and four people only one started roll of toilet paper was provided for 3 nights, so we had to buy some... Futhermore all carpets, pillows and the sofa have a lot of staints and the dishes have been quiet dirty, so we had to clean everything before using. The kettle in the kitchen was filled with old almost living water, this was very disgusting. Overall cleaning and maintainace is needed at this house..
We had requested 2 travel cots and high chairs and informed that would be possible. When we arrived there was only 1 of each and we had to message a few times to arrange a second. No second high chair. We were messaged at check in time to inform us we needed to bring our own towels and we hadn’t. I messaged host for some, they arrived but wet. Washing machine was filthy. Hoover didn’t work. No mop. No fairy liquid or cleaning spray or bin bags or toilet paper.
Location was nice and easy accessible. Property was good, and but it is not sufficient for 10 people. Bit congested.
Bathrooms were not at all good, and water is not draining. It bit irritated and very disappointed. Only two bathrooms, and that too main bathroom is completely not usable because of water drain issue.
Location.
Two double beds crammed into a room only suitable for small children. But we lucky didn’t need to use that room
Home from home, we had an amazing weekend. Close to shops, pubs, restaurants and loads of places to go. Everything you could want was in the house. Really spacious, loads of toys for the kids, so comfy and private. Our host was very informative and explained everything clearly. Will definately be back.
Wow the house first of all is very beautiful and clean 😍 the surroundings exceptional with the golf course the beach and lovely walk ways.we got to have a bbq too . Nice quiet ambiance .thank you
One of the bed not comfortable seemed broken but had no choice but to manage it ..
this property was beautiful in an amazing setting. Lovely location, close to the Rosslare Harbor, which has a very sufficient SuperValu, Also close to lovely eateries close to the beach, golf course, although we don’t play golf the setting was beautiful
The property was very well laid out very sufficient size wise for a family of five, and we are all pretty much adults, the living space, kitchen, fishing and sunroom were all worn, which we thought was excellent for our Family, also it had a lovely outdoor space, really good garden furniture, very comfortable little sun trap
loved this delightful holiday home! so clean and comfortable, great nights sleep!
nothing
Gorgeous house and place, very quiet area which I liked. Lots to do. Very clean and spacious. Fab big patio outside with lots of seating and table space. Definately recommend.
Accommodation was good, home away from home. Close to sightseeing & exploring the area & beach
While the facilities was good, may we suggest an upgrade on a few appliances like the stove, oven, microwave & toilet seats.
The house is very child friendly and dog friendly with an enclosed garden. Walking distance to the beach and close drive to rosslare harbour. Very comfortable and enjoyable stay
Like home from home. Warm and comfy beds
Nothing, everything was great
House was like home away from home, had everything you could possibly need including toys for kids. Golf club bar & playground onsite, beach nearby and exceptional restaurants in the area.
They could do with a grocery shop locally, plenty of bars /restaurants but shop 15 min drive away. We just made sure we had what we needed on way back.
The house is so nice and cozy, very quiet area, you have everything you need In there, bbq, tennis court in front of your house. The owner was super nice as well.
comfort and location
some of the kitchen items were dirty
Lovely Bright house , had everything we needed for a pet friendly family break .We Would stay here again .Quiet spot , great base to explore Co Wexford .
Back garden needs some TLC and it would be great .
Quiet location, very close to a beautiful beach. Although not relevant for our family (all adults) there is a play area and the setting is ideal for young families as there is so little traffic - we commented it would have been lovely to visit when our girls had been children.
Our only negative comment is that one of our adult daughters had a bed that was more suited to a child. This was understandable but disappointing.
