A really nice place to enjoy beautiful Donegal. We had a lot of space in the room and the bed was comfortable. It was also really nice to have access to the kitchen to cook. There are a lot of equipment made available by the host. The location of the place is perfect to enjoy Glenveagh. We had also the wonderful surprise to discover that it is very very close to Leo's Tavern, Enya's family's pub!

The bedroom was grand and the host was easy to deal with

I did not like the fact that the breakfast was continental only with few options and that I had to do it myself. I would have preferred a full Irish breakfast even if I had to pay extra for that option.

Le logement correspondait tout à fait à mes attentes et aux photos. L'hôte m'a réservé un accueil chaleureux et a répondu à toutes mes questions, la communication a été facile. Hygiène et propreté irréprochables, calme absolu, bel environnement ont rendu mon séjour très agréable.

Very homely friendly place. Rooms were great and decorated imaginatively. I slept in a beautiful, comfortable sleigh bed and walked down to the local bar where the food was great and the staff really lovely. You make your own breakfast. there was plenty there for breakfast eaten in a bright, lovely dining room.

The distance to get to the lodge. It mentions in booking.com that it is in letterkenny. It's 50km plus out over a remote national park. There is nothing close by. The location needs to be mentioned that it is remote and no shops close by.

Great location, stayed one week and still more to see. John was helpful and rooms were cozy and warm during cold spells. Several rooms for general use, not constrained to bedroom. Basics for breakfast provided. Hope to return.

We stayed in a lovely spacious room with a very comfortable bed. The breakfast room was extremely pleasant and everything necessary was provided.

Another great stay! John is a fantastic host very welcoming and accommodating. 100% recommend.

Nous n'avons pas vu notre hôte sur les 3 nuits que nous avons passées dans sa grande maison mais nous avons néanmoins apprécié la grande chambre confortable, la salle d'eau très propres. La communication via le site de réservation était fluide. Nous avons aussi aimé prendre nos petits déjeuners dans la véranda, c'était très agréable, la cuisine est bien équipée, très propre et pourvue de tout ce qu'il faut pour se préparer un bon p'tit déjeuner. Bien placé sur la Wild Atlantic Way pour explorer la côte, les péninsules de Rossguill et Fanad ainsi que le parc national de Glenveagh.

John the host was extremely welcoming and helpful and very kindly let us check in earlier. The facilities were great, lovely big room with separate seating area. The use of the kitchen where eggs, cereals, buns etc were provided was a lovely unexpected bonus. Great location a 15min walk to the lovely local pub and restaurant. Would definitely recommend. In fact we are booked in for another stay already!

It was an absolute pleasure staying in Loch Connell Lodge. A beautiful house in an idyllic location - a few mins walk from the old railway walk by Loch Connell. It was so quiet and peaceful. The house is spacious and spotless, with a great big kitchen stocked with supplies for breakfast and plenty of cooking utensils for self catering. The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. The sitting room was so relaxing with a giant sofa. Really appreciated the fresh eggs left for breakfast- a lovely touch! As were the fresh buns to enjoy with a cuppa. Our host gave us a dinner recommendation which was brilliant! We had a delicious meal in Casadh an tsúgáin, about two mins drive away in the village of Loch an Iúir. Loch Connell Lodge was a real find. Would recommend it highly. Great for couples or a small group of family or friends. I look forward very much to a return visit.. 😊

Struttura situata nelle immediate vicinanze del lago: dal giardino un breve passaggio porta direttamente alla strada pedonale che costeggia il lago. Camera molto ampia composta di due ambienti più il bagno. Quest'ultimo dotato di bidet! Possibilità di uso cucina per la colazione.

La struttura è fuori da una città o da un paese. I più vicini sono a pochi minuti di auto.

The owner and other guests had left a great variety of snacks, food, and drink options. It is a good opportunity to do a bit of hand washing. Very spacious. Each guest to their own.

The accommodation is easy to find thanks to the signage provided by John. It is an excellent self-catering facility and the provision of breakfast items by John (the host) makes it an excellent choice. The bed was comfortable and the shower was excellent both in terms of temperature and power. Weather permitting, you have the option to eat in the dining room beside the kitchen or outside. We had a great time staying at Loch Connell Lodge.

Wow! This beautifully decorated grand old house was such a delight. Host, John was friendly and helpful. Our room was enormous and bed was comfortable. Guests have shared use of the beautiful, well equipped kitchen and sunny dining area and lounge/tv room. The property is alongside a pleasant Lough side walk. We were so happy with our stay.

We felt this was a work in progress. More care is needed with cleanliness and grounds. Some of the bedding needs replacing.

Ended up with a suite so felt very luxurious. It was lovely to have the opportunity to use the kitchen, the conservatory had lovely views.

Loved the beautiful wall behind the bed. The kitchen was beautiful with everything in it you needed. Easy to clean up after breakfast. Could come and go as we pleased.

Beautiful home with a spectacular view. Bedroom was clean, comfortable and well appointed and we had full use of a well stocked kitchen to help ourselves to breakfast. We never actually met the host but they were very accommodating regarding late arrival time.

Finding a dog-friendly place is tricky, but Loch Connell Lodge was just what we needed. John is a wonderful host (putting a fire on while we were on the way, etc.). The room was large and incredibly comfortable, great kitchen at your disposal and a lovely sunroom to eat at overlooking the loch. It isn't far at all from the main road, but entirely peaceful. I definitely hope to be back the next time I'm in the area.

There is a whole kitchen you can use, make breakfast with everything provided, a TV room, fireplaces. A perfect place to relax and explore the beautiful area. John is a very considerate and kind host.

Quiet location less than 5 miles from Carrickfinn Airport and its beautiful beach. A warm welcome awaited and I mean warm; the room had its own little log burner. Exactly what a stressed individual required. Being both martial arts experts, John the boss and I got on like a house on fire. And, there are books a plenty on a wide variety of subjects for those dark winter nights.

Large bedroom with comfy waterbed. Separate room for suitcase storage & good sized bathroom with a bidet! Great shower. Separate & large tv room. Shared kitchen with everything you need & large dining table. Warm & very peaceful. Great parking. We walked to the local for a great meal (about 15-20 mins). John greeted us & showed us how everything worked, then left us alone, which is just what we wanted.

Host very pleasant greeted us on arrival and always there if we needed him,otherwise left us to our own devices which is what we wanted. Kitchen excellent.Bedroom,lounge etc clean and comfortable.If in area in future wouldn't hesitate to stay there again if available.

It is nice to stay in a place where you can see that the owners have put some much care, love and efforts to make it so special. Original art and something I never ever had in any place I stayed before, a nice surprise and icing on the cake : a waterbed matress !

Great house with everything you could need. I had one of the rooms downstairs which was huge and there was a massive shared kitchen/dining room and 2 reception rooms.

I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere at Loch Connell. The lodge is in a lovely location and the host is very welcoming.

The host was very friendly and made us feel at home. The location was nice and quiet but still close to all amineties. There were sightseeing opportunities within a close drive of the property. We would highly recommend this property to couples or families. We will DEFINITELY be staying again 😊

Very helpful owner who gave us full access to a spacious kitchen with a large dining table and provided food to make our own breakfast. The bedroom and bathroom were of a good size with a double water bed an interesting surprise. There’s access just down from the front garden to a long walk either east or west along a former rail line.

Good big room with private en suite, full use of the kitchen and sitting areas was a bonus, water bed was a treat, the owner was super and even gave us a lift one day we were stuck, definitely recommend!

There was no mention in the property description of the room having a water bed. I can see the attraction but they're not for everyone and this should be clearly stated in order to manager expectations. Shower in bathroom was very noisy and might need replacing. Would have woken up everyone in the house had I taken a shower in the morning before I left.

Beautiful & cozy home perfectly situated in Donegal for day trips along the coast or relaxing days in Loch an Iúir. Very clean & spacious property with endless kitchen utensils/supplies in order to cook our own food. The host, John, was lovely & was accommodating with us with a late check in. He was very helpful at check in & had all of the fires in the house lit for us upon arrival. Perfect for a winters evening.
