Absolutely beautiful. We were blown away when we entered the house. Will stay again💯. Highly recommend 👏👌
Absolutely nothing.
The whole experience was great. Steve meet us at the school house on arrival and was welcoming and even had a freshly baked loaf of bread organised to be dropped off later for us to enjoy, and enjoy we did. Eggs, milk, butter and spreads were in the fridge also which was a really lovely surprise, so thank you very much. The space was very comfortable with a good shower. Comfy bed and it was nice to wake up to birds singing. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay.
Very welcoming, lovely quiet spot. Fresh bread and eggs much appreciated.
An absolute gem. Roomy, very comfortable and rich in character and history. A very unique property to stay in. The fresh home baked bread and farm eggs were a very enjoyable bonus.
Everything was perfect. We were sorry we didn’t have the time to stay longer.
Had all I needed for 1 night stay. I’ll come again next time in town
Very cute and historical, great price, looked the fresh flowers and homemade bread!
Perhaps flannelette sheets to be cosier
古い建物の良いところを残して改装してある所が良いと思います。設備はエアコンやテレビは現代のもの、寝室の調度品や水周りはセンスが良いと思いました。
少し寒い。エアコンは建物の構造上効きづらいので仕方ないです。
Nice
Nice
It was a lovely stay in a very pretty rural setting . The house was very well equipped and the hosts provided some extra special touches.
Loved the fresh produce .. eggs, fresh bread and condiments.. Lovely outlook and my granddaughter enjoyed the animals
A wee bit cold on arrival ..
What a great place. Loads of history but with all the comforts needed. Tastefully decorated and furnished to suit the character of the place. Even a warm loaf of freshly baked bread was provided by the lovely hosts.
Nothing at all to complain about.
Such a gorgeous place, it feels like a fairytale
Location could be difficult to find at night
Steve was very nice when we met. They have us a load of fresh baked bread that was so wonderful, along with milk, eggs, butter, and jam. The house was superb and reading the history that was provided was a lot of fun. Would definitely stay again!
To put it plainly everything, the "School" was fantastic, everything was provided, I received a loaf of hot homemade bread on arrival the fridge had milk and condiments for the bread. Coffee, tea and the rest were there, but he best thing for me was that there were large coffee mugs in the cupboard, and that is not common. Over all I'll give it 98%.
I'm not a small guy, the shower however was built for small guys. It still worked without a glitch, it's just tight.
The property is absolutely cosy and very clean, perfect location.
The homemade bread was delicious and the eggs were very yummy. Clean and tidy and perfect spot just far enough out of town to be peaceful. Really enjoyed the stay
Handy to town, sooo quiet! The fresh bread, was delish! Spreads provided! The owners have thought of everything, eggs in the fridge ( we were going to have poached eggs on toast, but had such a comfy stay we slept in so ran out of time. Guest amenities were lovely! The bodywash was a beautiful scent. The flowers in the bathroom... the list goes on!
Nothing we didn't like, we wish we had more time
Absolutely lovely and unique place to stay. Hosts were great, and even left a fresh loaf of bread plus butter for us, with fresh eggs in the fridge and fresh-cut flowers in the bathroom and bedroom. We loved the history of the school house too, and would happily stay there again.
Fantastic easy to find location, peaceful, private, full of historical charm, exceptionally clean and well appointed beautifully welcoming hosts and gorgeous pets with homemade fresh bread.flowers, eggs, a decent size bottle of milk not the usual little carton and all the little things needed but always forgotten when you travel. Highly recommend and will be staying again
That we couldn't stay longer!
Beautiful location, very clean and nice breakfast
The charm of the place, location & super clean. Fresh homemade bread on arrival was a nice touch.
Nothing
Love the property and the quiet country vibes. Also loved the warm home made bread on arrival. Special touch.
Nothing
We liked the feeling of the old school building. The bed was very comfortable Fresh bread that was supplied was delicious Lovely rural setting Garden was lovely
We were happy with everything.
The only property available was the Old School House. It had been converted into accommodation and was really comfortable and being in the country was so quiet. The fresh homemade was a real bonus
Nothing
The property is lovely, in a wonderful setting. It was very clean and comfortable. I would stay again!
Very pleasant one night stay in The Old School House on our way to Auckland. We loved staying somewhere with history and character. Lovely setting with views of green hills. The house was beautifully clean, and we were kindly provided milk, bread and eggs, along with jam and butter in the fridge. Thank you for the hospitality!
It was a really easy stay....nice quiet surroundings...caring customer service... heaters switched on prior to arrival...
Real old building (not new one vintage furnished). Unfortunately, we stay there just for a night in our trip along North Island. The cottage is in a farm so if You want to feel the real live in a NZ farm you can stay there for a few days. The equipment in the kitchen is old but is enough good and everting work well. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are enough big. There is also penthouse in the front, so you can organize very romantic dinner outside. You can enjoy the silence and the absence of city noise also.
Nothing for such type of property.
Lots of space, historical information, full kitchen facilities, bread, milk & eggs. Just lovely.
NZ weather that led to a 5 hour detour 😌 Hosts were very helpful.
It was beautiful, the building has been thoughtfully restored, and furnished. Additionally with some wonderful modern features such as Heat pumps. There was home made bread, butter and a variety of jams in the fridge, not to mention the milk and eggs. The fresh flowers were also a lovely touch. Thank you Sue and Steve
Big house with great history. Lots of old photos and historic feelings
Lovely accommodation, quiet & peaceful environment. Loved staying in the old schoolhouse. Beautiful hospitality.
No negatives
Freshly baked bread upon arrival. Nice and clean facilities with a comfortable bed.
A beautiful and peaceful property with added bonus of breakfast thrown in. I will be back!
Location very peaceful and quite. Lovely fresh eggs and bread provided for breakfast
The layout of the living room could be improved.
breakfast was simple and enjoyable Location was very enjoyable in the quiet countryside
nothing
The location was peaceful, i went for a walk and was able to see the maunga Kakepuku, Pirongia and Maungatautari. The accommodation was quaint and comfortable. Shower was hot. Loved the home made bread.
Cute place, great location, lovely fresh bread.
Unfortunately both beds were lumpy.
Welcoming, quiet, large,
Lovely house, quiet peaceful and beautiful
The Old School house was beautifully restored, and the area in which it was relocated to was peaceful and relaxing. Surrounded by nice paddocks, trees and flowers. The owner left us some freshly baked bread, eggs, margarine and spreads for the tasty bread, and a fresh bottle of milk. And flowers on the dining table. The place was truly amazing.
Nothing, the place was really great.
Beautiful Historic house to stay in. We enjoyed everything about it. The environment was leafy, green and quiet. Thank you.
We should have stayed more than one night!!!
Lovely accommodation and quiet location but close to facilites
The bread was lovely there were eggs as well and jam, vegemite butter etc. Loved the fresh flowers. A really cool place.
There was a very slight smell of mustiness. That is my only complaint.
A beautiful, character-filled property. Exceptionally clean and we really appreciated the complimentary bread and eggs, both of which were fresh and delicious.
Nice quiet location. Friendly owners and they even had breakfast available at no added cost.
Great place, quiet and has everything you need.
A very charming historical building. It was clean, calm and spacious.
Beautiful heritage building
Awesome historical building that is very peaceful and homely. Close to town and Sanctuary Mountain. Hosts provided fresh home-made bread, eggs also butter, milk, tea coffee and spreads. Nice smelling shampoo and bodywash. Everything you need in home, including a washing machine. The home is warm.and cosy and interesting. Lovely rural setting with a lovely garden. Highly recommend.
This was our second visit. It was everything we remembered. Friendly hosts, quiet garden setting, fabulous old building, beautifully presented. The freshly baked loaf, eggs and butter and jam and plunger coffee were welll received! Excellent water pressure. Big fridge.
Nothing at all
Een heel huis, de vogelgeluiden, goede wifi
Beautiful mauri, loved the extra touches
Fantastic place. Had amazing features and so closest to town. Lovely rural outlook. Super clean and comfortable. Great host.
Was an absolutely amazing place to stay.
The hosts were very accommodating and it was the first place I’ve stayed where they gave u a whole loaf of home made bread with jam, butter, eggs and real a whole 1 L carton of fresh milk and not those shitty little rip open teeny portions of long life milk. Although I didn’t actual get a chance to have any milk to use in a tea because I didn’t have the time I would have very much appreciated the fresh milk provided by this property. So that was the highlight for me along with the long history of the little building which was special touch. It was an authentic and unique pleasant little stay.
Maybe the main house being so close but apart from that I loved everything else.
If you wish something a little different from a stay, then this is it. Comfortable with all the things one might need for a stay. A well-equipped kitchen, TV, comfortable bed, good shower. The place has character, and the history of the building is worth reading about in the folder on the table. Thanks for laying on a loaf of bread and some eggs!
With high ceilings and a big space, the place is a bit echoey, but that's all part of the charm of the building!
Loved it. It was a walk back in time. Comfortable and so peaceful. It had everything we needed
Quiet, in a lovely garden setting, with appropriate and comfortable furnishings for the character of the school house. We appreciated finding fresh flowers, eggs, milk, and home baked bread upon arrival. Steve is very responsive. We were in a golf tournament, the location was ideal, being 3 minutes away from the course! We loved our stay, highly recommend.
Everything was perfect.
Absolutely perfect stay - great shower, comfy bed, spotlessly clean, lovely breakfast and incredibly decorated/restored. We loved the history of the place. The hosts also helped us out after a mishap with our bags at the airport meant us arriving very late! Thank you!
Steve was very welcoming. The house is delightful & is situated in a peaceful rural setting. It is very well appointed. The provision of home made bread & fresh eggs for breakfast was an added bonus.
Nothing
Loved the original character of the place.
We were not expecting breakfast, but on arrival, everything was provided! Lovely fresh baked bread, eggs, milk, jams etc, truly amazing. Comfort, space, cleanliness, absolute quiet. It was perfect!!!
Nothing - it was all marvellous, and I haven't got space to mention all the great history, photos etc.
We loved the fresh, warm bread, eggs, plunger coffee, good supply of milk, jams etc, cleanliness, comfortable bed, quiet to sleep, heated towel rail, pretty flowers in the vases, the decor and history and the value for money. Host was very helpful and communicated well.
The whole stay was special. The school house is cloaked in history. The house is well presented in a rural tree setting extremely comfortable and relaxing. Nothing was too much trouble for our host Steve just amazing guy. Fresh bread and eggs were the best.
Nothing not to dislike.
A lovely spot with lots of charm. Fresh flowers, bread and eggs. Welcoming host. We loved reading the history of the property too. Very comfortable and warm. My daughter loved smelling all the flowers!
Location was great - very quiet - host met with fresh sourdough bread which was fabulous
I loved that there was a loaf of fresh bread on arrival, fresh flowers in the kitchen and bathroom, bed was beautiful and comfy and I felt so safe. I was warm, cosy and happy. Plus it was quiet so I could just chill and do by myself. It was really close to Te Awamutu too but in the country. Divine.
Location was really peaceful with beautiful views all around and was only a very short drive into town. Best of both worlds. Steve was a pleasure too, really friendly and makes wonderful bread!
Easy access and parking Historical significance Fresh picked flowers Goodies in the kitchen
Those harsh cool white lights in the lounge. Fog in the morning 🤣🤣
Such a gorgeous historic house with beautiful setting and views. Hosts very lovely and welcoming, great communication and extra touches like homemade bread and fresh eggs left for breakfast. Super clean and tidy, it was a lovely stay.
The heater was on to greet us which was so considerate but the drafts in the old house and high ceilings meant it took a long time to heat the house and it became quite cold sitting in the lounge at night even with the heater on. Bedroom was fine with heater on to prepare it to be warm - by morning the house was lovely and warm.
Lovely having fresh bread and eggs for breakfast! Beautiful old building and very well furnished.
Part of the character of an old building but it was a little bit draughty in the depth of winter. Next time I will come in summer and enjoy siting out in the lovely garden.
Beautiful school house, very warm and fill of history. Greeted with homemade bread and fresh eggs, such a beautiful location.
It's a lovely characteristic cottage, converted from an old school house, high cellings and full of quirky little details. The view from the bedroom into the lawn and rural landscape was very peaceful. Very comfy and cozy space, heatpumps were very helpful to keep us warm during our stay.
Fabulous place, historical and comfortable everything was magic. Definitely use again.
Fantastic stay. So clean and comfortable. You can tell Steve & Sue really take care of the place and truly care about it! They also made us a gorgeous loaf of bread (it was the best bread we've ever eaten!) and provided fresh eggs/milk. Highly recommend this stay!!
