Reviewed Sep 18, 2026The view is beautiful and the apartment is spacious, quiet and comfortable. Carmen was very kind and let us check in several hours earlier, which was really important for us. The apartment was already prepared for us by 10 am. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Overall, we felt very cosy there and enjoyed our stay.
The biggest downside for us was that there was no microwave, which we really missed during our stay. The apartment could also use a little more attention to some small maintenance and cleaning details. Some elements are a bit worn, the fridge door squeaks, the kitchen clock wasn’t working, and the dishwasher was showing that it needed salt. There was also some dust in less frequently cleaned areas. Nothing serious overall, but these small improvements would make the apartment much more comfortable.

The garden and terrace was stunning. Easy to get to other places and very close to ortisei. Unfortunately we only stayed two nights.

There was a bus stop right at the bottom of the driveway that connnected us with the rest of the valley. Not mentioned in booking.com site, but we were pleasantly surprised that they also had a washing machine.

The apartment was newly renovated, beautifully designed, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I especially loved the front door—it was so welcoming and charming. The view was absolutely magnificent, and the peaceful surroundings made it the perfect holiday retreat. The fresh mountain air, beautiful weather, and stunning scenery created a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. It’s an ideal place for anyone looking to enjoy nature, tranquility, and the beauty of the mountains. We truly enjoyed every moment and would happily stay here again.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The apartment looks like the pictures and is in a gorgeous area. It was also very clean. Once we figured out how to adjust the temperature, we were quite comfortable and had most of what we needed for a good stay. The wifi was not great, though likely not an issue for most people!
Overall, felt like the value for money wasn't quite there, and were a bit surprised by the stellar reviews. We may have just had an off stay, but the communication left a lot of be desired, as did the apartment's furnishings. We arrived in a huge downpour before the end of check-in and looked for a sign with our name on it, but they had forgotten to put it on the door, so we waited for 10 mins while someone responded to our call. Eventually we knocked at the right door and someone came out. We were surprised to find that only one of the two beds were made up, and when we asked for extra blanket and pillows, did not receive a response until the next day, which unfortunately meant a cold and uncomfortable night. We didn't received any communication from the host on this, but did get a text asking us to pay the tourist tax in cash by leaving cash on table at 10 PM the night before our departure, which was news to us. It would have been fine, but we didn't have small change, and our texts that night/morning to figure it out went unanswered until right before we left. We ended up figuring it out, but again, earlier communication would have made for a more seamless trip. Overall, it very much felt like we were bothering the owners and they saw this as a way to make money, but not overly interested in ensuring a good stay for guests. It was dissapoiting! Also felt that what was provided in the apartment was a bit sparse. It could do with some more basics like sugar, oil, etc. Also, beware that there's a charge for the coffee pods. A bit unusual!

WiFi was there but effectively non-existent. Kitchen cleaning tools such as scrubs , broom were missing and we couldn't get them from the owner. Apartment needs a short and quick attention to make it perfect: Shower doors, kitchen oven, fireplace.. Reception and check-out was kind of vague - we didnt have instructions on how to check in and on check out no one informed us on the required addtional city tax required. Communication can be better.

Reviewed May 4, 2025Great infrastructure, great location, and the hosts were very cautious and receptive. Our room had a porch facing a valley with a beautiful Alpine Paradise scenery. The hosts even provided us with a pass for public transport, which is something that comes in very handy for those who don't wish to arrive by car.

I had minimal problems with communication. I was only asked an estimate when we plan to arrive. When we arrived I called several times via phone but was not successful to get directions to my room, communication from the owner was a mix of german, italian and english. All my calls after some talking were hung up. After like 10 minutes we found out that there was a heart sign with my surname written in the second floor door. TL DR: search for a door sign with your surname.

Reviewed Mar 16, 2025Nice place, kept very clean. The kitchen had everything needed to make meals there. The folks running it were really kind and helpful. There's a few friendly cats that are running around the property as a bonus.
The internet access was really slow which made researching transit and plans difficult. We took the bus to get to the dolomites, but the walk from the place to the bus stop is pretty sketchy...

Located 10 min drive from Ortisei, has an amazing view which is shown from the lovely backyard, clean rooms, warm and big. And a real great shower! It’s also the best equipment place we stayed so far in our Italy trip. We honestly didn’t want to leave.

Reviewed May 9, 2024The owners of Ritschhof welcomed as warmly. The check-in was quick and easy. The apartment is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. The owners offer a range of self-made products like jam and apple juice which I can highly recommend to try. The place is spacious with a little private balcony. In addition, there‘s a shared outside area with an amazing view of the mountains and the valley. You easily feel at home and very cozy. The apartment is dog friendly. The owners are incredibly nice and welcoming, always available for any questions. Thank you very much for making our stay so special.

It was a bit hard to find … both the property and the place to check-in. Look for a small sign for Ritchie on the left as you arrive from the autobahn. It will be on a tall stone wall with a near 180 degree left turn up a hill. When you arrive park at the top of the hill on the right of the building. The check-in is at the bottom of the wooden staircase with a Booking.com rating sticker. Our name was written on a slate heart on our door.

Reviewed Mar 4, 2023Very nice flat with amazing view over the mountains! The flat was very well equipped with a modern kitchen. Moka and espresso coffee maker for the coffee lovers!!! Nicely decorated, stylish and practical at the same time. Nice bathroom with floor heating to enjoy a shower after a day on the ski slopes. 5 or 10 minutes drive to the villages of Ortisei and Santa Cristina, to take the ski lifts. Friendly owner! We enjoyed staying there during our family ski holiday!

Reviewed Oct 19, 2022The house is an old family farm from 15. century built in great place, basking in the sun all day and with amazing genius loci. Our appartment was clean, spacious and modern with some rural pieces of furniture. it was really nice, cozy and romantic. The host is very nice and kind. If you want a peaceful place with amazing atmosphere in Val Gardena, this is THE place. I'm only sorry that we couldn't stay longer. It was SO nice.
