Reviewed Aug 4, 2025The place is amazing. I was looking for a place to stay for one night, near Mistaken Point. I got so much more at the Keeper’s Kitchen B&B! It was a very special local experience, with a fireplace chat with all the guests after the dinner, learning about the local history and traditions and getting to know the other quests and our amazing hosts, Michelle and Reidar, sharing stories, and having a good laugh or two. The breakfast next day was amazing! Home made sour dough bread and divine danish made from scratch, combined with Michelle’s jams (made of local foraged berries) made my day! :) I still be coming back!
Everything was amazing and greatly exceeded my expectations. That place is so full of LOVE that I did not want to leave! :)

Conversations a treat: travel, love story, lessons about foods: wild, local, healthy, gourmet. After breakfast, a lesson on how to culture foods included sampling her delicious kefirs and kombuchas. Even gave away starter cultures. She'd also painted the lovely pictures on the walls, authored the book on the nightstand, and played guitar and sang with her sister and some of the other guests. The hosts have created an incredible culinary feast both for dinner and breakfast filled with local and home made treats. The wine pairings were delicious and thoughtfully chosen and the company around the table brought to life the real Newfoundland welcome a camaraderie. We are so glad we went.
The only thing I would change would be to provide a pitcher of water in the rooms. Their local water can be discoloured at times. It is safe but off putting to brush your teeth with. Having a couple of glasses and a clear water source in the rooms at those times would fix that conveniently for guests.
