Hostal La Minga

Fue toda una sorpresa el lugar, por lo grata de la experiencia. Al principio no dice mucho, se ubica en una parcela encerrada en vegetación, sin vistas. Pero al entrar, la atención de Klaus y de quien estaba en la recepción, hace que uno se sienta inmediatamente bienvenido. No se establece una relación de pasajero/staff, sino de invitado con el dueño de casa. Todo es excelente: la habitación, la cena, el desayuno, el espacio común. se establece además rápidamente un ambiente de conversación con los otros pasajeros que pueda haber.

No puedo recordar nada malo o que no me haya gustado. Siendo que la cena es un servicio aparte que Klaus prepara personalmente a pedido, no esperen una carta con variedades.

El hostal es muy confortable, Klaus es una persona excelente que te aconseja las actividades que podes realizar en Chaitén y también en otros lugares. En cuanto al hostal te despertas y te espera un exquisito desayuno artesanal, también podes cenar todo casero hecho por Klaus muy rico!!! . Nos sentimos como en casa. Gracias Klaus como te dijimos en persona lo repito por acá... volveremos!!!

Heel gezellige plek waar Klaus alles in goede banen leidt! Het avondeten is een aanrader, het ontbijt is goed verzorgd, allemaal vers en lekker klaargemaakt door Klaus! De kamers en gemeenschappelijke delen zijn warm aangekleed en Klaus gaf goede tips voor de omgeving. De avondzon op het strand, op slechts 5 minuten, wandelen was de moeite!

Moeilijk te vinden en moeilijke weg om tot de hostal te geraken. Maar heel mooie ligging. Heel rustig tussen de bomen en de lagune. Gezellig interieur. Klaus is heel vriendelijk!! Hij vertelt onmiddellijk wat je allemaal kan bezoeken, de mooie wandelingen, de mooie plaatsen, hij weet heel veel. Hij run bijna een kleine reisbureau;-) Mooie kamer. Het ontbijt is bio en zijn zelfgemaakte bruine brood is heel lekker.

A cama é confortável e o chuveiro é muito bom! A roupa de cama é de boa qualidade e limpinha. As toalhas são estranhas, mas enxugam. Tem que tirar os sapatos para entrar na cabana.

Não tem isolamento acústico e o café da manhã é bem simples. Tem cara de sítio.

Klaus liess uns um 00:35 h einchecken. Super toll, und morgens hat er bereits wieder ein leckeres Frühstück gemacht. Merci Klaus.

Die Anreise in der Nacht war schwierig, die Instruktionen aber super gut und zielführend.

Klaus is de perfecte gastheer. Hij straalt rust uit en weet het zijn gasten uitstekend naar de zin te maken. Hij is behulpzaam, geeft goede adviezen en is een voortreffelijke kok. Ik kan een verblijf in La Minga ten zeerste aanbevelen.

Twee heerlijke overnachtingen, een voortreffelijk diner en twee smakelijke ontbijtjes, wat kan er dan tegenvallen? Niets toch?

The owner was very kind. Our ferry arrived really late but he greeted us and checked us in with a smile. The place was very well set up. You have everything you need. Highly recommended!

Le calme à 5 km de Chaiten. Excellent accueil de Klaus qui fait tout pour vous être utile et vous guider dans ce coin de la route australe. Très bon petit-déjeuner composé de produits maison. Possibilité de dîner sur place (produits frais et maison). La plage proche depuis laquelle il est facile d’observer des phoques et des dauphins.

5 km buiten Chaiten ligt dit Paradijs. Klaus is een geweldige gastheer, die je graag voorziet van tips. Hij heeft 's avonds heel lekker voor ons gekookt. De kamer is sfeervol en de bedden heerlijk. 's Morgens een ontbijt met eigen gemaakte spullen! Vanuit deze hostal loop je in 5 min. Naar t strand waar je dolfijnen en zeehonden kunt spotten

The quiet woodland location was great, and the well presented and clean room was bigger than I expected. Klaus was an excellent host and put a lot of effort into the food items on offer.

Secluded hideaway approx. 5 minute drive from Chaiten town with only 3-4 rooms. We enjoyed Klaus’ warm hospitality, as well as dinner and breakfast. It was easy to communicate with our host and he was generous about accommodating late-arriving ferries.

La pieza es cómoda con camas confortables. El lugar es ideal para descansar y está en medio de la naturaleza. Es autosustentable además. Buen desayuno y la atención es muy buena.

Hospedarse en Hostal La Minga es una experiencia realmente excepcional: destaca desde el primer momento la enorme calidez, amabilidad y dedicación de Klaus y su esposa, quienes hacen sentir a cada huésped como en casa, siempre atentos y dispuestos a ayudar; el hostal se mantiene impecablemente limpio, las habitaciones son muy cómodas, el internet Starlink funciona de forma excelente, algo muy valorado en la zona, y tanto el desayuno como la cena son abundantes, ricos y preparados con mucho cariño, reflejando el compromiso y pasión de sus dueños; sin duda, un lugar totalmente recomendable y al que dan ganas de volver

Man ist richtig im Wald. Man hört eigentlich nur die Vögel und wenn der Nachbar was macht. Dies muss man mögen.

Klaus ontving ons en was zeer gastvrij. De kamers waren super gezellig en schoon, het ontbijt was heerlijk en indien gewenst kun je er ook dineren.

Klaus und Marcela haben uns mit einem sehr guten Frühstück und einem Nachtessen (alles home made) verwöhnt. Auch die Tipps für Naturerlebisse, die uns Klaus für die Hin- und Wegfahrt gab, waren sehr hilfreich. Vom Hotel kann man zu Fuss ans Meer.

Located in a quiet place, a few minutes away from the beach where we could see the sunset and sea lions swimming. Had an interesting chat with the owner Klaus, and with the other guests who had dinner there. Klaus cooks delicious food for dinner, I’d recommend having dinner with him.

Posizione comoda, appena fuori dalla Carrettera, all’ingresso di Chaiten, immerso nel verde ed a pochi passi da una bellissima spiaggia, dove è facile avvistare i delfini. Spazio comune curato e molto pulito, con un bel tavolo da condividere con gli altri ospiti. Camere confortevoli con letti molto comodi. Il valore aggiunto è senza dubbio l’host Klaus, che ci ha coccolato con la sua ottima cucina a cena. La chicca….il caffè nella moka !!

Unusual and interesting place which felt like the middle of the countryside but was actually just a few kilometres outside of town. It’s largely heated by solar panels and the owners are very keen to keep things sustainable. Very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

Very cozy and comfortable. Warm and welcoming. There are just 3 bedrooms and it was nice to chat with other travellers. The owner and his wife cooked us a lovely dinner and breakfast. I would recommend having dinner there. They have starlink.

There isn’t any sound proofing and all bedrooms open to the communal area so you can easily here all noises from anyone sitting out there. While this was not a problem for us as all couples were quiet a respectful if you are sensitive to noise it could be an issue if the wrong people turned up.

Wir mussten in Hornopiren die späte Fähre nehmen, von da aus war es noch einmal eine Stunde Fahrt von Caleta Gonzalo bis kurz vor Chaitén, so dass wir erst sehr spät ankamen. Klaus und Marcela waren darauf eingestellt und erwarteten uns mit selbstgemachter Kürbissuppe. Am nächsten Morgen gab es ein gutes Frühstück mit selbstgemachten Produkten aus der Region. Am Strand konnten wir Seelöwen beobachten. Klaus spricht ein gutes Englisch. Die Unterkunft ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Excelente atención y lugar para hospedarse. El dueño muy atento y acogedor, se agradece las cremas en la noche y los sándwiches para el viaje de vuelta. Mil por ciento recomendado, el ambiente ecológico le da un toque perfecto con Chaitén.

I arrived very late,.at midnight. This was no problem for Klaus. I eas waiting for me. All the communication and information beforehand was very helpful.

Great place to stay, close to town in a wonderful setting. We were very well looked after by the owners which included serving a hearty breakfast. It's homely with only 3 bedrooms, very clean well maintained and eco friendly.

A lovely secluded place that is a short drive out of Chaiten. Klaus and his wife seem to be quite conscious about sustainability. Many items at breakfast and dinner were homemade which was delicious. I was in a twin room at the back of the house which was comfortable.

Great location. A bit remote but if you have a car this is not at all a problem. It is very close to the beach which is very nice as you can walk there in just a few minutes. The accomodation is very clean and nice and has super comfy beds. On top there is a very friendly hosts who is very supportive if you need anything at all. Great place to stay. We can only recommend it.

Klaus is a great host. He went above and beyond by welcoming us after a delayed ferry, after 02:00am. On top of that, his breakfast was the best we’d had in weeks of travel!

Perfect accommodation where you should definitely spend a night when you are in Chaiten! Owner Klaus has created a wonderful oasis where you can only feel at home (sunset by the sea included + delicious breakfast).

Beautiful guesthouse in a beautiful remote location. Gorgeous sunsets on the beach with views of mountains and sea lions playing. Very peaceful. Klaus and Marcela are wonderful hosts. They are kind and very attentive. Excellent food for breakfast and dinner. Can't have asked for anything more.

Great dinners served by hosts and the time they have us talking about the area and the country. We got a lot of tips on what to see. Klaus and his partner are very easy going and accommodating. A nice warm place. Short walk to the beach to watch the sunset

The cabin we stayed didn't have power points to charge the phones though they had battery packs which were a bit slow to charge

The host, Klaus, could not have been more gracious and accommodating. He answered our questions, offered extra help like printing for me, and taught us about local activities. Breakfast was all homemade and excellent. Klaus is doing an excellent job of trying to live a sustainable life and share that with his guests.

The room we stayed in did not have its own heating source, so it was cool until we got into bed. But the bedcovers were plenty warm enough to sleep comfortably.

We stayed in a lovely brand new cabin close to the Ruta 7. We got a night ferry, so we only arrived at 2345, but we were warmly by Klaus. The cabana is very comfortable and warm and we had an excellent nights sleep. We had a super breakfast in the morning and were on our way down the Carretera Austral. A special place to stay

This place is a real gem. It is surrounded by trees but still close to the town by car. We felt really welcome since Klaus and his wife are great hosts. They built the place on their own and there must have gone a lot of passion into this project. The living room is super cozy, breakfast and dinner were homemade and excellent. Klaus also gave us recommendations for hikes and activites nearby.

Klaus makes this place feel like better than home. Great location. Comfortable beds. Home cooked breakfast and dinner. It is truly one of the best places I have stayed. I am grateful we found this hostal. If I am lucky enough to be in this area again, I will definitely stay here again!!!

Klaus is an amazing host. Another you want or need, he will help you with. Great breakfast and dinner. Klaus is very accommodating. We arrived a 1am off the ferry, and he greeted us with kindness and the offer of hot tea.

Arriving at Hostal La Minga after a long journey over unpaved roads and a delayed ferry felt like coming home. Klaus is a very friendly host who has many useful tips to share about things to do in the surrounding area. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Klaus serves a delicious breakfast with the best coffee I've had in Chile and also offers dinner if you want it.

Claus was so friendly and helpful. The lovely shared sitting dining area was a real asset. The food was home prepared with love and care. I would return if I got chance.

Beautiful location, surrounded by nature. The wonderful host is caring and gracious. He provided clear directions well in advance of our stay. The cabin was impeccably clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding, with home made bread and cheese and the best coffee we had on our trip.

The host Klaus is extremely friendly and is going out of his way to accommodate any needs and makes you feel very welcome and at home. Food was excellent, too. Very quiet and peaceful right by the water. Highly recommended, only wish we could have stayed longer!

We stayed in the cabin rather than the main house and loved it. Beds are super comfortable, shower has lots of hot water and good pressure and everything runs off solar there so although portable phone chargers were de rigeur and wifi didn't always work in our room, it was always perfect in the main house. The kerosene heater heated up the place in no time and it stayed toasty warm. Lots of blankets, too, if you prefer that. Klaus and Marcela are wonderful hosts and we enjoyed a couple of excellent home cooked dinners with them as both are excellent cooks. Breakfasts are equally delicious as bread and spreads are homemade and their coffee is some of the best we've had in Chile. Really, our hosts are what made it truly special to stay there. They are delightful, friendly people and they went out of their way to help us with some issues we had with our car rental. Klaus speaks excellent English in case your Spanish is as shaky as mine. The hostel is located a couple of km outside town, but it has a lovely stony beach just a 3 minute walk away for relaxing and watching the sunset and looking for seals and dolphins. Very peaceful. Due to issues with the satellite reception, we had to pay in cash, and we had no luck with the only ATM in town, so prepare accordingly.

We had a wonderful 3-day stay in the accommodation of Klaus and his wife Marcella. We enjoyed fantastic meals in the evenings and rich breakfasts with homemade bread in the mornings. The location is great for visiting Pumalín Park. Klaus also had great tips for the park itself and our subsequent stay on Chiloe. Many thanks for these unforgettable days!

Keep in mind that this is an ecological accommodation. This means that the rooms are simply furnished, small and unheated. The common dining and lounge area is heated and warm, leave the door to your room open to warm it up a little. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. The location is a bit remote, so bring whatever you need with you. Still there is good internet but no phone connection.
