Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Cathy and John were the most wonderful hosts, the venue is in a stunning location and the artwork on display and in the exhibition is exceptionally interesting for those who are into it. I particularly liked the artwork on display in the rooms and around the site. Cathy kindly showed me the exhibition currently showing and was only sorry not to have had more time to chat and explore this as I had a meeting to get to. On arrival I was even offered a toasted sandwich as there is not much on the immediate doorstep except for the local pub. The bed was very comfortable, I slept well and bathroom facilities were fine too.
Minor points only. It wasn't clear where the reception was when I arrived but fortunately John saw me wandering around with a suitcase and called out. I never managed to get onto the public wifi, and don't think it was available in my room, which would have helped a little with some work I needed to do. As there were no visible plugs near the bed I had to charge the phone on the other side of the room, and I searched unsuccessfully for a wine glass in the kitchen as I had a bottle with me (a birthday treat!). These are just small points that didn't detract from my stay.
The property was a beautiful Georgian house, set within a stunning landscape, offering inspiring views of the surrounding Welsh mountains.
Not a thing.
Great breakfast. Friendly hosting . Good art and garden
Very friendly owner with a personal touch. More like a home than a hotel. Wonderful art all around. Beautiful old buildings. Very clean.
Just need to make sure the shower always gets hot. great otherwise.
Great location as we had a wedding to attend close by. Really great breakfast. Interesting and unusual setting in an art gallery / workshop.
breakfast was excellent
The hosts were very welcoming, a very good start to our experience! We both enjoyed the ambivalence of the property and the excellent Art that was on show! An absolutely wonderful breakfast! We think we’ve found a little gem here! Highly recommended!
Nothing not to like!
Great location at a stunning art center but it was Cathy, John and the staff that truly made the stay with it! I’m tempted to book again just for Cathy’s breakfast!
No issues, I stayed in the single room and was exactly what I was expecting
I was late to check in, due to work, and the how was extremely helpful with instructions for a late arrival and stayed in touch to assure I found everything easily. The room was extremely comfortable and I was lucky enough to get a quick tour of the amazing exhibition on show. I wasn't onsite for long as left before breakfast for my time there I would highly recommend it to others.

Lovely location in an art gallery for a cooked breakfast. Unusual. Sculptures made at workshops were located in a small wood next to the property.
Needs minor maintenance. Curtain hooks missing from curtain screening bathroom from bed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mid Wales Arts B&B. The location is gorgeous; it was so nice being surrounded by nature and art. Our room was very clean and well presented and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. Thank you Cathy and John!
Clean, quirky, spacious, full of character and charm. Best breakfast I've had in ages and beautifully presented as well. A stay here is a must.
Good location, lovely proprietors took care of us very well
Not much room to move in the barn conversion, not the rooms we’d booked so probably a bit expensive for the rooms we got, sounds like the house itself is much better
A wonderful stay was had at Mid Wales Arts B&B. Extremely kind and helpful owners who went out of their way to accommodate the booking. Thanks so much. Would definitely recommend.
It’s an idyllic location, filled with art and creativity. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, going over and above.
Clean and tidy very old building with lots of character. Very handy for where we’re going to visit. Breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from.
No TV But gave us plenty of quality time to talk to each other lol
Sehr nette Gastgeber.
The breakfast was lovely and well presented. We liked the art in the room. We enjoyed the gardens and the art exhibition.
Beautiul property in beautiful location - but the star of it all was being run by and initiated by artists and sculptors. There was a fabulous exhibition, and the house had many beautiful paintings by original artists. A peaceful and inspiring stay. More than helpul hosts who took me to and from the station. They were helpul and informative. I wish I could have stayed longer.
What's not to like?
Art everywhere! Hidden labyrinths filled with treasures, gardens, and beauty. Food was excellent and Cathy (Proprietress) is very accommodating.
It was a long walk from the train station. Didn’t know I could call for a lift.
so much more than a bed and breakfast
The breakfast was lovely and the evening meal produced at the drop of a hat was the best sort of home cooking. The setting with art works liberally scattered provided nutrition for the soul.
Such lovely hosts. Excellent breakfast, room was clean and had everything you need. Whole B&B felt both private and social. All the great art was a lovely bonus.
Wifi's spotty at best, but everything else more than made up for that.
Perfectly cooked with top quality ingredients on demand. Lovely environment and better than average cutlery and ceramics.
Gorgeous place
Very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive host. Great location with ample easy free parking. Much to see and do at the centre. Very comfortable room in a large house with artistic interior. Rural location, v close to Newtown.
A beautiful Georginan style property, with lots of jndoor and outdoor space. Very quirky and full of character. The rooms were very large and airy, with a super large en suite bathroom. The whole property is full of art - through paintings and sculptures and murals. Every inch of this property was spotlessly clean, despite the size and style. The beds were also the comfiest we have ever slept in!! The owner of the property Cathy was lovely, lots of knowledge of the area and the history of the property itself. She also made the most amazing breakfast to top off the perfect stay. We will definitely be returning!
Everything was perfect.
It was spacious, tranquil and unique.
Loved staying here. This is such a special place with an amazing history. Lovely breakfast, beautiful art and pretty grounds to enjoy. The peacock rules.
Lovely stay! Very unique! Very friendly and delicious breakfast!
location perfect before journey home, owners were fab and the place best described as “one of a kind”. Breakfast fresh and lots of choice and best coffee of our trip. Bedding white, crisp and clean…bed very comfortable. Garden and artists work very interesting.
We are both mid 70’s and found the narrow steep stairs to our bedroom a challenge, especially with bags. It is all part of the atmosphere and the character of the lovely homely house…..but something guests need to be aware of….we didnt make use of the private little kitchen, for coffee, as that involved “the stairs”.
A unique property to stay at … the place was perfect. The bedroom was huge, with a lovely large window overlooking the front of the house and an en-suite bathroom, a few steps down from the bedroom. We had a very comfortable night’s stay. The hosts, Cathy & John, are such nice, friendly people …. we had a lovely chat with them, whilst having our perfectly cooked breakfast. The Arts Centre & gardens are such a pleasure to walk around. A truly enjoyable stay … thank you so much Cathy & John.
There’s nothing not to like about
Zeer goed ontbijt!
Welcoming hosts Good breakfast
Slightly larger bed Double felt a little cramped
Zeer hartelijk en persoonlijk ontvangen. Hele mooie ruime kamer. De ruimte en de verrassende kunst op het terrein.
Csodálatos környezet, nagyszerű emberek

Staff and breakfast
It was rustic and could be cleaner
Lovely surroundings, lovely art and decor Cathy was so friendly and helpful. The house was very nice also. The breakfast was also very nice with fresh and local produce and fresh eggs from onsite hens!
Nothing negative really to say
Cathy and John are excellent hosts, well travelled, interesting and very arty. The room (more like a suite)we stayed in was huge with a lovely big bathroom. We had a very nice wholesome breakfast around a big table where we met other like minded guests. The location is good for the hafren forest and a fantastic lake nearby with a dam and the ironworks remains. There's loads of art to look at, their studio and a resident peacock.
Nothing
The breakfast was excellent - beautifully cooked, with a good choice of cereals, fruit etc. alongside. They also catered for my dietary needs without fuss or difficulty.
Breakfast was wonderful. Loved the gallery and the original art everywhere. HUGE bath was a win.
Looking over the A-road.
What an exceptional Croeso
The welcome and breckfast and their unique ability to relax and support as necessary
The room was very comfortable and the facilities were excellent. Cathy and John were friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent. I really enjoyed my stay, and would stay again if I need somewhere to stay in the Caersws area. Thank you.
It is also an arts centre with a cafe. When I arrived, it wasn't quite clear where I should go to check in. However, they responded quickly to my phone call, and were immediately helpful.
The room was spacious, breakfast was lovely and location was good
Staff weren’t too welcoming
The food was amazing.
Beautiful location, lovely views and an Art Gallery to enjoy, just perfect.
Lovely looking property with beautiful features, large comfy rooms. Crisp white Cotten bedding.
Lovely room with big comfy beds set in a fascinating arts centre. Loved the quirkiness of the building and surrounding art works.
Cathy and John were very welcoming. They catered for my requests which I told Cathy in advance. The bed was very comfortable. I also loved the garden full of sculptures and a peacock, pea hen and chickens...morning breakfast very tasty.
Cathy and John have a very warm and welcoming accommodations, a very peaceful and unique experience.
Host was welcoming, especially as we arrived earlier than expected. The breakfast was excellent!!
The shower was very difficult to regulate the temperature, despite being shown how to best use it!
The owners are very friendly and very interesting. This is an arts centre which has artists working there and artistic events/talks. The main house is interesting, it's old with lovely views over the hills. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was excellent. A fabulous place to stay.
A few minor plumbing issues.
The host Cathy was very welcoming and friendly. The building and artwork is very unique and interesting.
Beautiful venue full of stunning art. Comfortable and modern room with all facilities. Welcoming and warm hosts.
Nothing.
Extremely interesting venue - highly recommended
Nothing at all
Breakfast was fine and the owner was happy to make minor adjustments, should it be required or preferred which was greatly appreciated.
Apart from a lack of single rooms, for me there was nothing to dislike about my stay. The owner has managed to create a wonderful place for people to visit not just for a stay but as a creative hub for the Arts and the wider appreciation of it which can be felt. This coupled with a fantastic historical house which has evolved since Tudor times and a surrounding area of natural beauty and interesting wildlife makes a stay highly recommended for an eclectic experience. It is also situated in a good location to visit other local attractions.
Fabulous accommodation, even better hosts, thank you x
It was in a perfect location for what we needed. The house was absolutely fantastic and we loved the house xx
Nothing, it was wonderful x
Excellent
Excellent
A very interesting house and site and a large comfortable clean room with modern ensuite. Breakfast was superb - quality ingredients and cooked to perfection. The hosts, Cathy & John, were warm and friendly and shared with me the background to the Arts and the sculptures and enamel paintings around the site. Cathy also provided an evening meal, at very reasonable cost, based on fine home cooking and ingredients, and shared with Cathy and John and another guest.
Nothing springs to mind!
Cathy was a wonderful host, went out of her way to be friendly & flexible/accommodating.
This place is out of this world, with animals roaming, beautiful scenery and the staff can't do enough for you. The breakfast is so good. Definitely recommend this place.

Easy to get to being located off the main A470. Hosts were very welcoming. The breakfast was very tasty and plenty of it.
When I booked I thought we would have been in the main house but the accommodation provided was nice enough. Well presented and clean and tidy. However there were no tea/coffee facilities and being in the attic with low ceilings meant that space was limited with no armchairs to relax in.
Stunning location with the most welcoming and hospitable hosts. Comfortable room and a very impressive Art Studio on site. The breakfast was amazing too!
Everything was above expectation! Cathy and John were wonderful generous hosts, extremely helpful and welcoming. The food and drink were amazing. The room (including ensuite and kitchen!) was spacious, clean, comfortable, quiet, and attractive. The location was perfect for our needs. The accommodation within the house was highly characterful! The converted barn(?) serving as cafe and art gallery, was light, comfortable, and, once again, quite beautiful!
Nothing
