Tables were all unbelievably sticky. Why? And the grey carpet was not as clean as everything else (apart from the tables) felt. Cheap pillows needed replacing but surprised and happy with quality bed linen.

The Star Inn provides a very friendly welcome. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Rooms are a good size, very comfortable and provide everything you need. Breakfast was plentiful with different options available. We ate in the bar during our stay and the food was delicious. I would highly recommend staying at Star Inn.

Lovely village pub with a huge garden. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable bedroom and they had a big fan for the hot weather. Huge breakfast. We had to be out early in the morning and they were fab at ensuring our breakfast was ordered he night before and ready on the dot. Would recommend.

Under the flight path of East Midlands Airport. Checking in seemed over complicated and was told I would have to pay £20 more than quoted price- person dealing with this was a little confusing

The single bed in room 6 could do with a more comfortable mattress. Other than that, nothing bad.

food choice was limited and there is no sound proofing in the rooms so i could hear everything the neighbours did throughout the night and a lot of noise from nearby airport

Exceptional service. Friendly, approachable, adaptive and even remembered us from our stay the previous year. Had a ground floor room due to mobility issues, easy access round the back, nothing was too much for the staff. Felt like a VIP!

Comfy bed! Nice clean room, lovely staff, very good food including the breakfast, with a good selection of veggie options. Lovely large beer garden & lookout onto green fields. The location was a short drive from the M5 or East Midlands airport making it an excellent choice for us.

Leah the owner made us feel so welcome the second we arrived. Her level of hospitality is excellent. The room was great, spacious, comfortable and excellent shower. Breakfast, a full English and a vegetarian breakfast was outstanding.

Friendly welcome, very nice comfortable room, great breakfast (best scrambled eggs ever) and lovely landlord and landlady who were happy to serve us drinks and were very chatty when we returned from the theatre just before last orders. We will stay there again if we are in the area. It’s a nice traditional pub with very nice accommodation.

A minor thing and its just personal preference, but we found the mattress a little hard, it needed a topper.

We thought room 5 (the double) felt nicer and bit more luxurious than room 6 (the triple) which was around the corner and not as welcoming. Although room 6 did have lovely views of fields.

the owners and staff were absolutely superb, went above and beyond, on time for a 7am breakfast early start and called me to remind me to return the room keys i had mistakenly taken with me on leaving!

Absolutely lovely place to stay. Gorgeous little local pub with a really nice restaurant. Rooms are super comfy with everything you need. Breakfast menu is great. Leah and Dave, the owners, are really friendly and looked after us so well.

The location was lovely. The room was cosy. The staff were brilliant. The open fires were cosy and welcoming like the staff and locals. The food was outstanding big portions and stunning wines with hearty wholesale breakfasts with beautiful lattes and fresh juice. Absolutely a diamond of a place.

For us, The Star was more than the perfect place to stay when flying from EMA airport. Being just 6.4 miles (15-20min drive) We stayed for one night at this wonderful cosy village pub and loved everything about it. The staff were amazing and Lear (your host) was super organised, helpful and accomodating. The room was super clean, Super comfy bed, ensuite bathroom and a wonderful view of the garden countryside landscape, which during the summer, You wont want to leave! But the best is yet to come... THE COOKED BREAKFAST WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD! So much so, We were flabbergasted on the size and quality of the cuisine and it has to be one of the best, if not THE best breakfasts we've ever had. Well done the chef! All in all, I've added "The Star" to my favourites and will certainly return when in the area. Thank you Lear and the staff for a wonderful stand out stay.

A proper pub with good ales and cosy dining area. All of the staff, from the landlady & landlord, to the evening bar staff and those involved in the morning activity, breakfast and so on could not have been more pleasant, helpful and interesting. Breakfast great. Plenty of parking. Good wifi and room excellent.

From junction 24 of the M1 no signage for West Leake until the final crossroads by which time you can't miss it.
