The property was beautiful! The room was huge and very comfortable. The lake view is gorgeous, and we loved the little sitting areas and hammock in the garden. Lovely place to relax and read. The staff were incredibly generous, attentive, and kind. We felt very at home here. The breakfast was lovely too! It’s a 10min walk from the main beach, but we went to the beach that was just down the laneway (2 min walk) to watch the sunsets which were spectacular. There are some local restaurants close by that served amazing seafood too.

The environment is incredibly peaceful and natural, which creates a serene atmosphere. The staff members are wonderful, providing attentive support, and the service overall is excellent. They even provided us with a simple Kerala-style lunch and dinner at no additional cost, and it was incredibly delicious! We took two Ayurvedic massage services (paid extra), Abhyangam and Shirodhara, which were very relaxing and rejuvenating! This combination contributes to a truly enjoyable experience.

Peaceful location surrounded by trees overlooking the lagoon. Short walk to a small beach, 15 mins to the bigger main Cherai beach. Friendly and helpful staff always happy to help you with whatever they could. Thank you Shari!

The hospitality is literally unmatched. So gracious, so helpful, so kind, I have not experienced such welcome anywhere else! I had issues with my return flight and needed support and they were there to offer it more than I expected! And breakfast was so genourous. This makes all the difference to me.

Nothing much, but be mindful if you are using a big car to get there. Check in advance if there is enough space during your stay.

ous avons adoré séjourner à Lakefont. Le homestay est très sympathique et l’équipe de service est adorable. Le soin était excellent. La personne qui gère l’établissement propose également des cours de yoga et est toujours prête à répondre à toutes nos questions avec gentillesse. Le lieu est magnifique, à seulement dix minutes à pied de la plage, avec la possibilité de prendre facilement un tuk-tuk. Il donne sur un merveilleux lac, dans un cadre paisible avec le chant des oiseaux. L’atmosphère est vraiment apaisante. Nous avons séjourné cinq jours, mais nous aurions aimé rester encore plus longtemps. Nous espérons avoir la chance d’y retourner un jour.

Tout était parfait. Pas grand chose a faire dans le coin, mais pour se retirer du monde quelques jours c’est parfait.

The location was overlooking the backwaters which is lovely during sunrise. It had a very calm atmosphere and the main road to the beach was a minute walk and about 5 minutes to the area where you can swim. Aside from the place itself, I would say the most amazing thing was the staff. All the women who worked here were so kind and caring and always made sure to check on us and provide small things to make our stay extremely comfortable. The food was also super delicious ♥️, I could not express my gratitude of how well taken care of we felt.

During our 3 week trip to Kerala & Karnataka, this was definitely the best place we stayed in. The location, less than 5 minutes walk to both beach and lake, was excellent; as was the garden - totally private and so well planned for tranquil reflection. But the truly outstanding point for us was the staff and owners - who went out of their way to look after us in every small detail. Nothing was too much for them; in fact, they often thought of little extra things to make our stay even more pleasurable. We enjoyed this place so much that we extended our original 2 night stay to 4 nights. Highly recommended and we hope to return some time in the futre.

Absolutely everything. Such a peaceful quiet retreat overlooking the lake and just a tiny pathway from beach. The staff and owners went above and beyond. I was famished when I arrived after 4 hour drive and they immediately made sure I ate something. Resume and Minu were so good. The cook was a sweet lady too ensuring I had enough vegetarian options for breakfast. Shari and her husband were so kind. Property is so quaint and relaxing. Massage was really good too.

This small inn truly is a hidden little gem. Absolutely wonderful! It is run by 3 women who are exceptionally kind, gracful and incredibly helpful! I was offered very tasty meals at my convenience, tea or drink when I wanted, Shari, the owner helped me organize daz trips to Kochi at very reasonable prices, she gave me very good advice on what to do and see and was just overall a wonderful and gracious hostess! The property is maintain with loving care and attention to beautiful small details. There are also two Ayurveda treatment rooms and Josmy, who gave me 3 expert massages has magical hand. The inn is located direcly by the lake (backwater) and 2 minutes from the beach (though it was monsson season, so not atime for swimming, but rather just admiring the magnificient waves).

We really loved our stay here. The place is a little paradise on earth with a lot of green. We felt instantly at ease because of the lovely, warm people. A true hidden gem between the gorgeous river and the beach. Absolutely breathtaking. Thank you so much Shari and the rest of the staff. We had an amazing time!

The hosts and staffs make you feel very much like you’re at home, such warm hospitality. We were constantly being checked in on to make sure we’re comfortable and was also given dining suggestions. The breakfast was made based on our request and we were always asked if we wanted to have coffee or tea (which tasted amazing). Rooms were spacious and the area was so calm and peaceful, right by the lake. Thank you Shaari for being such a wonderful host!

Lots of mosquitoes, but this is acceptable given that we are living near a lake with a lot of plants (host constantly ensured that there’s incense sticks lit). The stay operates entirely on solar energy, so the water heater was not heating the water properly during our entire stay. (Ended up using kettle to boil water for shower). Might need to look into this during rainy season when hot water is essential.

We had an awesome stay at Lakefront. The property is very close to the beach and sits in front of the backwater. Very calm and peaceful atmosphere. The room, the ambience , the stay, the breakfast were amazing 🥰. I would highly recommend this place if you visit Cherai beach

One of the best property I have ever stayed. I really enjoyed the calmness of the property. Morning sunrise view at the Lake is really beautiful. Breakfast is really delicious. They served Kerala and English breakfast, Fresh fruits too. Beautiful garden overlooking the lake, Mangroves trees added beauty and shade. The host and the staffs are always there to take care of our needs, very friendly and helpful. They had a very good collection of Books. The swimming pool is clean and well maintained. Boating options are available. I rented a bicycle and explored the area. It's really a hidden gem and I really would like to come back to stay longer.

The property was positioned beside the backwaters in a beautiful garden setting within east reach of the beach and local restaurants. The proprietors and their staff were so amazingly kind and friendly showing great care and consideration to everyone staying at their property.

There was nothing I did not like the property and the whole stay was great.

Brilliant location next to the lagoon with seats to admire the wildlife in a beautifully tended garden conducive to relaxation, extremely quiet, whilst close to the beach and some good seafood restaurants. Very attentive and friendly service, tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner served with a beaming smile. Nice pool too. Uber available to go to Kochi via the ferry. Very good value!

This is a delightful place! I can only reiterate what other reviewers have said on here. I have spent six weeks in India and this was my favourite guesthouse in terms of the location and the amazing welcoming feeling provided by owner and staff. Beautiful, clean and peaceful with wonderful food, drink and service! Thank you Shari and your amazing staff! 10/10!

Everything was absolutely perfect! The hostess is really nice and helpful with everything as well as the rest of the staff. Excellent rooms which are very clean, nice bed and shower. We would have loved to stay longer than one day and will definitely come back

What was not to like? Everything was great. The people, the food, the space and surroundings! Shari made us feel like we were part of the family and did everything in het power to make our stay as good as possible. Authentic food and the option to stay for lunch or even dinner! Shari Provided us with yoga classes in the morning. We are both beginners and she took that into account. She helped us with arranging bikes, an ayurvedic doctor and checked if there was anything she could do everyday. The pool was clean as well and the house is located close to the beach, a gem of you'd ask us.

Nothing really, there was soap but no shampoo in the room although I am pretty sure they will provide it if needed, just like a kettle when we asked for it it was arranged straight away.

everything was perfect! we got a very warm welcome with good food and tea. the place is very chill and quite, with an amazing view to the lake. perfect place if you want to clear your mind. all the staff is very kind and welcome, they helped us to get train tickets and airport transfer. we had a early morning train and they prepared us tea and fruit for the trip Treatments are great..had an amazing massage. It was a pity we couldn't stay longer

The NICEST staff and hosts in the world! Vishnu & Shari are so lovely and you are warmly welcomed as soon as you arrive. This place is incredible and is quite possibly the best place we stayed at during our 3 week trip in India. Massages are on offer, as is yoga if you are so inclined. The pool is small but great for a dip when it's hot. The beach is 2mins walk away and they also offered us complementary lunch and dinner. Absolutely incredible! This place is a no brainer if you're staying in the Cherai Beach area!!

The staff were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were extremely kind and caring.

Having mobility issues, I personally found the stepping-stone paths difficult, but that should not bother most people.

We had a fantastic stay at Lakefront Beach homes and cannot fault it. From the owners warm welcome, friendly staff, spacious clean and comfortable room to the relaxing gardens, cooling pool and lakefront views - what more could you want.... Our first time in India we felt really relaxed and safe and felt reassured that we were good hands with the owners who were very attentive, with excellent English and always happy to help with advice and suggestions. Breakfast was always prepared freshly and nothing was too much trouble, from bottles of drinking water to cups of tea and coffee. Kochi taxi transfers were arranged for our arrival with excellent communication throughout. This is a very special place and you will not be disappointed if you book.

It is a perfect place! The location is great, the rooms are bright and spacious, the whole building is quite new and very clean. The food was amazing. But the best thing is the hospitality - staff makes you feel like you are their special guest, always asking if you need something and willing to make your stay as nice as possible. Honestly - not even one negative thing!

This place is really wonderful! The owner and the staffs were so friendly and very accommodating. The rooms were really clean.This beautiful and quaint homestay had pretty garden overlooking the lake . Woke up early to watch the sunrise by the lake which was blissful! The beach is just walking distance across the homestay and we managed to go for a swim there and watch the sunset. Most importantly the whole experience staying at this place was wonderful because the owner Shari and her staffs were really nice.We got to drink tea anytime and had delicious vegetarian Keralan food . Shari also helped to order in if we needed food from elsewhere, directed us to places and suggested places for sightseeing. She was really helpful. Overall, we had the best stay here and will definitely stay here whenever we come to Cheerai

Great location near the beach but fronting on to lake - very peaceful. Large comfortable room with lovely view from the balcony. Owner was really kind and helpful staff couldn't do enough for you. Splash pool was great for cooling off, would have stayed longer if had time. Highly recommend.

This was our favorite homestay of our whole travel in India ♥️ You can go with your eyes closed! Very generous family, kind, you really feel welcome here. The homestay is superb with an outstanding view of the lagoon at the back of the garden. The beach and a few restaurants are at a few minutes of walking distance. It's a very quiet area, perfect to rest, observe animals, refresh in the little pool or the sea (which is super warm actually). The big room upstairs with the private balcony is absolutely wonderful. Small rooms are well equiped as well. The food was delicious, with lots of flavours, vegetarian and healthy. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality ! We will for sure come back next time we have the chance to travel to Kerala ♥️🙏♥️

The staff is awesome. You can just get anything you need from them. You really feel like at home here. Food is delicious. We did yoga and rented a motorbike. You can also do a nice boat ride on the lake.

This was the perfect place to stay to start my trip in Kerala. Sherai and her team were absolutely terrific. I stayed an extra 2 nights and just loved the whole atmosphere and good vibes. When you meet regular stayers at a place, you know it's excellent. I would definitely love to stay here again on my next adventure back to the wonderful Cherai beach.

The beautiful room was truly spacious and clean, especially the upstairs terrace was pleasant. The refreshing swimming pool was nice. And the Keralan dishes served were delicious and filling. This place is magical. A very beautiful and peaceful location with a great atmosphere. There is the option to eat with others and be sociable but also to get peace and quiet if we wanted quiet time. The beach is very close and sea is safe to swim in. Run by a lovely family who looked after us really well. Couldn't recommend this highly enough.

The host was very friendly and helped us with any need we had. They offered us tea or coffee whenever we came back, asked if we needed more water. The host made sure we always had some herbal incense sticks around us to protect us from moskito bites :)

for us it was unusual to have a one showerhead for warm and one for cold water. but you can easily adjust them to mix them while showering :)
