Sehr netter Empfang mit Tee und Scones im Kaminzimmer! Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und zuvorkommend, die Lage ist mitten am Land und lädt zu Spaziergängen ein.

We had a wonderful few days at Templemacateer. Declan and Bernie are absolutely the best hosts one could ask for. The breakfast was incredibly good: a full Irish breakfast, yoghurt, cereals, pancakes, bread, jam, juice… everything was prepared with so much care by Bernie. By far the best we had in Ireland. We were travelling with our daughter, who had the chance to feed the ponies and the pigs, and collect eggs from the chickens. She was always accompanied by Prim, a very sweet and gentle dog. We even played croquet while enjoying tea and a delicious cake made by Bernie! We left very happy and hope to come back one day!

Templemacateer House is my new favourite place! I am a lover of historic houses and that is why I booked Templemacateer in the first instance but the wonderful welcome from Declan and the offer of tea in the sitting room on arrival - plus more tea and biscuits by the fire on our return from a night at Kilbeggan Races was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable I slept soundly the whole night through. Breakfast was delicious. The whole experience was perfection.

Sehr aufmerksame und nette Gastgeber. Wir haben viel von der Geschichte des Hauses erfahren. Ein ganz wundervolles Anwesen. Auch ein bisschen mystisch in der Nacht. Ich muss gestehen... ich habe den Spiegel abgedeckt. Zu viele Horrorfilme gesehen. 😄 Das Frühstück war sehr reichlich und super lecker! Diese Unterkunft kann man sehr empfehlen!

Wir hatten ein riesiges Zimmer mit wunderbarem Blick auf den Garten. Das Bad hatte neben einer Dusche auch eine raumfüllende Badewanne. Das Frühstück sehr lecker und liebevoll gerichtet, alles homemade und aus der Region. Die Gastgeber sind sehr zuvorkommend ohne sich aufzudrängen - sehr sympathisch! Und zum Abschluss haben wir noch eine neue Sportart gelernt: Crochet!

El que més m'agradat és la amabilitat i cura dels propietaris de la casa, han fet tot el possible perquè estiguem bé, a la sal d'estar ens van encendre la llar de foc i servir una infusió amb galetes. La decoració és d'una casa amb molta història, tranquila. Esmorzar molt bo i bons productes.

Només caldria reformar els dos sillons habitació s'esfonsaven molt.

Beautiful tranquil place. When we arrived after a long day Declan made us tea and homemade brownies and a lovely fire in the snug.

広大な敷地の緑に囲まれた歴史あるカントリーハウスでの滞在は本当に素晴らしかった。オーナーはナイトのように両手で重い荷物を部屋に運び上げ、そのあと階下の暖炉の部屋で紅茶をサービスしてくれた。美しいビクトリア調の家具や静寂に包まれて快眠できました。朝、窓からの眺めも最高でした。牛が草を喰む牧草地の下に広がる芝生の上をツバメ達が水平に滑るように飛んでいる様子にとても癒されました。また、パンをはじめとする婦人手作りのアイリッシュブレックファーストは食材も新鮮で最高でした。またゆっくり滞在したいと思います。

Facile dire cosa ci è piaciuto: tutto! Cercavamo un alloggio a metà del nostro tour in Irlanda, e abbiamo trovato la casa dei sogni, in mezzo alla campagna verde di pascoli e grandi alberi, un vialetto d’ingresso che sembrava da film, l’atmosfera d’altri tempi e gli arredi ricchi di storia, un grande letto comodo in una stanza davvero grandissima. Il bagno aveva la vasca con i piedini che io ho sempre sognato. Silenzio, pace, romanticismo. Ci ha accolti l’host con dolcezza e ci ha fatto conoscere i due simpatici pony. La colazione da primo premio… avremmo voluto trascorrere più giorni in quella meravigliosa casa! Menzione speciale alle coccole che ci ha riservato la loro splendida cagnolina. L’ho amata fin da subito!

Lovely old house with character surrounded by countryside. The hosts were really friendly and accommodating and were happy to be contacted to arrange my arrival time. Their directions and image on how to find it were appreciated.

You would book here if you like peace and quiet and country charm. A car is a definite necessity though for visiting anywhere else.

Un bel endroit paisible où l'on regrette de ne pas rester plus longtemps. Maison hors du temps, on se croirait en vacances en famille ou chez les grands parents. Chambre immense et très cosy. Petit déjeuner exceptionnel avec des produits faits maison. Nos hôtes ont été accueillants sans pour autant être envahissants.

Delicious breakfast using the house's own bacon and eggs. Plenty of delicious bread and jam . Enjoyed meeting the pig, the piglets and the ponies!

Before our arrival, Bernie and Declan kindly arranged an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated as we were attending a wedding at Mount Druid, just a 15-minute drive away. From the moment we arrived, they were warm, welcoming, and exceptionally hospitable. The house is steeped in history and full of old-world charm, with character and personality in every room. Our rooms were beautifully presented, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a wonderful selection that we thoroughly enjoyed. As our son was a little slow to appear that morning, Bernie and Declan thoughtfully packed up a breakfast for him to take with him, which was a lovely gesture. Bernie and Declan are outstanding hosts who go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home. I would highly recommend Templemacateer B&B to anyone visiting the area and would happily stay there again.

Our hosts Declan & Bernie couldn't have been nicer, more welcoming people. They were very pleasant and accommodating. The rooms and the house itself are truly beautiful here. It was a real treat to see how well kept the house was, with many interesting details everywhere you looked. The bedroom and ensuite were both spacious and very comfortable.

The house is quite remote, and the road leading to it is mostly a single-car country lane. There is very poor phone signal in this area, but the WiFi in the house makes up for that. The rooms didn't come with a TV, but otherwise the room had great facilities including good WiFi signal, plenty of towels, bathroom products, and a hair dryer.

Everything about the place, the welcoming hosts, the breakfasts, the old world elegance. Prim, the family dog. The horses, the pig and the chickens! What a wonderful place!

Excellent quit location, with a room size I never had before in a B&B. Very friendly owners that showed us the life stock animals. Invited us to a music evening.

Declan is such a wonderful host, we were welcomed with afternoon tea by the open fire and fresh baked cake. Our room was stunning and lovely large comfortable bed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was delicious with fresh home made breads and conserves and everything cooked beautifully. This is 5 star service at an affordable price and in a lovely historic setting. On leaving we were kindly given fresh baked hot cross buns for our onward trip. We ate out in Moate and there was no problem getting a taxi there and back. Would definitely recommend a stay here...so peaceful.

The breakfast was very well presented in true Irish fashion.We looked forward to the full Irish breakfast.We were extreemly well looked after.Above and beyond in every way.

It took a long time to locate the place as aircode would not come up on my sat nav.Some sinage on the gate and the road from the A446 leading up to the B and B would have solved the location trail.

Everything was great and the hosts were very nice, going above and beyond for my requests. It's in a good location to access main roads and also is near the Greenway for anyone who likes to Cycle, walk or run.

As a lover of old houses, this house did not disappoint. Very cool place to stay.

Beautiful and spacious residence with a homely feel. We were well looked after and the breakfast was unbeatable. The bedrooms and bathrooms were huge and the beds allowed a great nights sleep. The location was quiet and surrounded by pretty countryside.

Estrema pulizia, camera molto bella, letto comodissimo.L’accoglienza , l’affabilità, l’estrema cortesia e la disponibilità dei proprietari . La colazione irlandese è veramente superba, con pane e marmellate fatte in casa e uova , bacon e salsicce cucinati al momento. Tutta la struttura è curatissima nel più piccolo particolare.

We were greeted warmly by Declan and Bernie, and the house is gorgeous! They made very tasty Irish breakfast. The location offers a dark sky so you can see the Milky Way clearly if the sky is clear and the moon isn’t too bright. The garden is pretty and the croquette lawn is lovely! The pigs said hello when we approached their fence. Beds are very comfortable!

The breakfast was incredible! A true Irish breakfast, homemade to order with lots of specialty foods in an intimate setting. Only 3 rooms keeps it intimate.

Shower pressure was low and slippery. Not a major issue though.

Sehr nettes Ehepaar, welches das B&B führt. Man bekommt richtiges Herrenhaus-Feeling, auch beim Willkommenstee im Wohnzimmer vor dem prasselnden Kamin. Das Zückerli oben drauf war der Besuch der hauseigenen Schweine und Ponies. Auch Prim die Haushündin hat mit den Streicheleinheiten für Cozyness gesorgt.

Einzig der Wasserdruck in der Dusche war etwas niedrig und das Einstellen der Temperatur etwas träge.

Unser Zimmer war zauberhaft, wunderschön eingerichtet. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen - mit Tee / Kaffee und Kuchen. Die Dame des Hauses hat uns auch einen Tisch in einem nahegelegenen Restaurant reserviert, in dem es uns sehr gut geschmeckt hat. Die Lage des Hauses ist zwar etwas abgelegen, aber ebenfalls wunderschön. Toller Garten

Having eaten a thousand Irish breakfasts these last 40 years, we can say unequivocally this was the best. Bernie and Declan breed their own 2- spot brown pigs there: the full breakfast is simply wonderful- clean, no grease, beautifully presented. Green tea, beautiful coffee. Declan is knowledgeable regarding the area and the Georgian house’s remarkable history. The area is quiet, peaceful - lovely walks on local lanes. The lounge and library was at our disposal as was the garden and its walks. Wonderful spot in the Irish Midlands - and the M6/ M4 only 10 minutes away, as is the little town if Kilbeggan with its famous brewery. More should know of this lovely place- lovely people too!

No complaints at all. You buy into the ambience of a Georgian property with large rooms and fine views over lawns and hills. The en suite bathroom excellent and the traditional beds showed fine taste. One felt the place was unique and the owners experienced and welcoming.

The house is beautiful and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The gardens are impeccably maintained with a hint of magic about them. The room was spacious and airy and the bathroom was luxurious and functional. The breakfast was delicious and served in an old world dining room. Declan and Bernie were fantastic hosts with the perfect balance of helpful yet respectful of privacy. They were so kind to our little girl sharing some of the secrets of this enchanting home with her.

We liked everything.

Beautiful-like a Jane Austen film. We enjoyed the absolute best greeting from Prim, their small terrier who was very excited to meet us. Traveling with our three daughters in their 20s - we had a beautiful evening playing croquet on the lawn, walking down the lane and exploring the gardens. The absolute BEST sausages I’ve ever had at the delicious and well-appointed breakfast- hosts were solicitous and respectful of privacy. Our rooms were thoughtful selected so we were near one another- this was the best stay of our 10day trip.

Very friendly excellent service

We were greeted like family and ushered into a charming room with wonderful high ceilings and all the modern conveniences in a very old fashioned setting. Our hosts offered tea, coffee, water, etc. We sat in the den by a fire for a little while before bedtime, and in the morning we went downstairs to a beautiful breakfast spread: a table with continental offerings and a personalized hot breakfast we had ordered the night before. Really wonderful hosting by lovely people.
