Ross Beach Family Farmhouse B&B

Das Farmhouse war einfach zu finden. Das Frühstück war reichlich und lecker.

Wir waren überrascht, dass das Bad nur über den Flur erreichbar war. Der Flur und Frühstücksraum wurde per Kamera überwacht. Für den Weg vom Zimmer ins Bad stand uns ein Bademantel aus Kunstfaser zur Verfügung. Unsere Schuhe mussten wir im Erdgeschoss stehen lassen. Es ging barfuß ins Zimmer weiter. Das B&B ist überteuert, es fehlte an Ablagen im Bad und im Zimmer. Ein Fernseher gab es nicht.

Es war alles super, wir waren die einzigen Gäste. Seamus und Mercedes waren sehr aufmerksame Gastgeber. Eine tolle ruhige Lage und nur 5 Minuten zum einsamen Strand.

Super Lage in der Nähe zum Strand, Seamus was sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sind sehr schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Frühstüch war lecker. Und Natur rund herum!

Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit. Die Unterkunft liegt mitten in der Natur, mit Ausblick auf das Meer. Besonders gut hat uns das Fenster mit Blick auf die Sterne gefallen.

Das B&B war auf unserer Rundreise die beste Unterkunft. Die größe des Zimmers war ausreichend und schön und modern eingerichtet. Die Sitzecke vor dem Zimmer war ein Traum. Der Gastgeber war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, ganz toll. Wir haben uns hier wirklich sehr wohl gefühlt, nachdem wir eine nicht so gute Unterkunft in Galway hatten. Der County Mayo ist neben Kerry unser liebster gewesen. Die Auswahl zum Frühstück war sehr gut und absolut ausreichend. Vielen Dank für den Aufenthalt

Everything about this B&B has been carefully thought out with a sense of quality, care and attention to detail throughout. Great breakfast options and room was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed chatting with Seamus and the location is fantastic with great beaches nearby.

Nice location close to the beach. Went for a walk along beach at sunset very quiet and peaceful. Owner was really nice lots of info on local places to eat and sights to see. Went to a pub in town only place serving food on a Tuesday night and boy were we surprised. Small place can't remember the name was crowded but food was exceptional. I kid you not . I'm Irish and have been away many years and was so pleasantly surprised how good it was. If you are in this area you must go to Downpatrick Head it's not to be missed. We spent a hour there walking along the cliffs over looking the ocean. It's so beautiful

Lovely welcome by Marcela. The property is on a quiet road, with a nice beach a short walk away. The dining area is great for making tea/ coffee with an excellent breakfast served. The bedroom was nicely furnished and perfect for the 2 of us.

Would have preferred the bathroom to have been ensuite or lockable like the bedroom just to guarantee privacy.

Camera nel sottotetto bella e pulita. Bagno piccolo, pulito e efficiente. Doccia media grandezza. Colazione abbondante e molto buona. Personale gentile. È obbligatorio togliersi le scarpe all'ingresso, si cammina scalzi (non sono abituata ma mi è piaciuto). Dal b&b per andare in centro a Killala ci sono 3km con l'auto.

Camminare scalzi potrebbe non piacere a tutti In camera non c'è la TV.

Family room is huge with big comfy beds. Lots of pillows and towels, ensuite. You select breakfast from menu the night before and select a time. Ours was ready straight away. Great selection. Scones delicious. Really nice host.

Our stay exceeded expectations. The home was spotlessly clean, the breakfast was delicious with many options for the family, and the host was wonderful. We had some great conversations with Seamus who was a friendly, thoughtful and informative host. The location was amazing - close walk to beaches and a short drive to beautiful cliffs. Would love to stay here again!

Sehr schöne, renovierte und liebevoll eingerichtete Zimmer. Traumhafte Lage zwischen zwei einsamen Stränden. Sehr gutes und immer frisches Frühstück. Selbst gebackenes Brot und Scones, frische Eier von den eigenen Hühnern und Enten. Uns wurde jeder (extra) Wunsch von den Lippen abgelesen. Sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeberfamilie. Es gibt die Möglichkeit die Farm und die Tiere unkompliziert anzuschauen. Bestes BnB auf unserer Reise. Wir werden wiederkommen.

It was a gorgeous location and we loved all of the animals, especially the dogs and kittens! Marcella was very welcoming and helpful for dinner advice. The room had lots of thoughtful touches throughout, including power strips for plugs.

Nous avons été accueillis par deux hôtes adorables, attentionnés et passionnés par leur maison. Le B&B est magnifique : très bien aménagé, impeccablement propre et vraiment confortable. Nous avions une chambre familiale et avons dormi paisiblement dans de bons lits. La salle de bain en suite était également très bien et fonctionnelle. Le petit déjeuner était copieux et varié : la veille, nous avons rempli une petite fiche pour présélectionner ce que nous souhaitions, mais toutes les autres options restaient possibles le matin même si nous avions encore plus d'appétit. Grâce à eux j'ai même pu découvrir les œufs de cane! Leur maison est encore plus charmante grâce à leurs nombreux animaux : un chien, des chats, des canards… et surtout un poney qui a complètement ravi ma fille. Ella lui a même permis de lui donner une pomme. Nous avons aussi profité d’une promenade à pied jusqu’à la mer, superbe malgré la pluie. La localisation est idéale comme point de chute entre Donegal et Westport. En résumé : un séjour chaleureux, reposant et plein de petites attentions. Nous recommandons vivement !

A beautiful house, in a quiet area,but within commuting distance of nice restaurants & pubs. The room was spacious, the beds comfortable and the bathroom & toiletries were all we could have desired. The breakfast in the morning was tasty and generously portioned. The lady of the house was the perfect hostess, knowledgeable & chatty.

There was absolutely nothing to complain about.

The host was kind and friendly, accommodating the early check-in and filling up our water bottle upon check-out, which we appreciated a lot. The breakfast was nicely arranged with great varieties.

There are a few things that we think could be improved: 1. The bedroom is not an ensuite. The designated bathroom is on the corridor. 2. There was a monitor installed right on top of the bedroom door outside the bedroom, facing the corridor. It means that every time we went in and out the bedroom / bathroom was monitored. It felt uncomfortable, especially in the evening when we went for a shower and was wearing pyjamas. 3. Sound insulation was not working … we could hear the next door taking shower, other guests’ movement, and the car movement at the entrance at night 4. The green light of the fire alarm or smoke detector (I guess) was right above the bed … making it difficult to sleep

Ross Beach family Farmhouse B&B lays in a wonderful position between two beaches. The place is silent, so you can relax and you can join both beaches with a little walk. The owners are so lovely and kind, we always felt like home. The spot is a good starting point to visit Dun Briste, Ballina and Killalla surrondings. It is really suitable for families or for couples.

Sehr schöne Unterkunft in toller Lage - der riesengroße Strand ist fußläufig erreichbar. Sehr sauber, sehr freundliche Gastgeber, schnuckelige Hunde. Und ein sehr ansprechendes frisches Frühstück.

Sehr kleines Badezimmer - aber irgendwie hilft man sich.

Everything was perfect. The house is spotlessly clean, beds are super comfy and good sized . Breakfast is big, very tasty and all home made. The location is amazing if you are looking for a quiet area within walking distance to the beach. And the host, Seamus, he is so passionate about the business, he will try his best to make your stay unforgettable.

The sink in my room was very small, but wouldn't stop me from going back 😊

Top B&B💪👌👍. Seamus und Ella, die Gastgeber, sind sehr freundlich, kommunikativ und liebenswert. Die Zimmer sind ruhig, schön, sauber und das Frühstück liess auch keine Wünsche offen. Im Ganzen Haus werden im Innenbereich keine Aussenschuhe akzeptiert, da alles relativ neu und sehr gepflegt ist! Zum Dorfzentrum sind es mit dem Auto ca.10 min.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay. The property was spotlessly clean, very well maintained, and incredibly peaceful. If you're looking for a quiet place to relax and switch off, this is an excellent choice. The breakfast was excellent, with a good selection of freshly prepared options to choose from. The quality of the products was outstanding, especially the fresh chicken and duck eggs, which were absolutely delicious. Complimentary water, tea, and coffee were also available throughout the stay, which was a lovely touch. Just a couple of notes for future guests rather than criticisms. It would be helpful if the property mentioned in advance that alcohol is not allowed anywhere on the premises, even outside, so enjoying a beer or a glass of wine in front of the house isn't an option. It would also be useful to let guests know that shoes must be removed at the entrance, so bringing slippers is a good idea, especially during the colder months. Finally, the nearest beach is about a 15 to 20 minute walk away, depending on your pace, and even longer if you're walking with children. Other than that, everything was excellent, and we would happily stay here again.

Beautifully situated for what we needed. Absolutely pristine and Ella was an excellent hostess in every way. Breakfast choices were very good made a pleasant change from others this holiday.

Great bed & breakfast in Kilala on a working family farm. After a full day of touring Donegal & Sligo, we arrived a few minutes past 8:00 PM. Our host, Seamus, let us know that the restaurants in town had already stopped serving dinner. However, he called a place, let them know we were on our way & asked them to hold dinner for the 7 of us!

Very beautiful accomodation, bratiful landscape and attention to details. Very clean bathroom and bedroom. There are two very beautiful beaches very close. Rich breakfast of your choice. Very kind and helpful staff. We would have liked to stay more than one night.

We had a lovely, spotlessly clean room with a gorgeous view. So much thought had gone into making our stay easy and comfortable. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice ( not traditional Irish) but every other option and so plentiful with friendly and helpful host.

Die Frühstücksauswahl war sehr lecker. Extrawünsche zum Frühstück wurden sofort erfüllt. Alles in allem gehört diese Unterkunft zu den besten B &B die mein Mann und ich bisher hatten. Wir kommen jederzeit wieder gerne zurück.

Seamus was very welcoming despite our late arrival. Our upstairs room was recently renovated,we liked our windows open to listen to a wide range of birds .

The staff very nice and friendly and the room super comfortable. The breakfast as well was really good! Very close to the beach and to towns.

One improved I suggest is shutters/ blinders to the window. Especially during summer is very hard to sleep with morning light but not a big deal!

We absolutely loved our stay with the Ross family. When we first checked in the room was made ready with care and attention to detail. The beds were amazing and we could have seriously eaten off the floor. This was the cleanest B&B we stayed at during our Ireland trip. The breakfast was sooo delicious and it had a variety of options to chose from. Host was super nice as well!

Absolut idyllische Lage wenige hundert Meter vom Nordatlantik entfernt. Pieksauberes Zimmer, riesiges perfekt sauberes Badezimmer. Tolles Frühstück mit Eiern von eigenen freilaufenden Enten. Ausgesprochen freundliche und zugewandte Eigentümer.

I had a wonderful stay here during my motorcycle trip around Ireland. The location is incredibly peaceful and quiet, making it the perfect place to relax and get a good night's sleep. The owners were extremely kind, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. What impressed me the most was the cleanliness. Both the bedroom and the bathroom were absolutely spotless and maintained to a very high standard. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I truly enjoyed my stay and I will definitely consider coming back in the future. Highly recommended.

Exceptionally quiet and just a 15 minute walk from a fantastic beach. Extremely warm greeting from Seamus who looked after us very well during our one night stay. We had a lovely room and a great breakfast which was different to the usual ‘full Irish’ in most other B and Bs. It made a lovely change. Warning - be careful not to over order! We did and couldn’t manage it! Enjoyed chatting to Seamus about his herd of cattle, calfs etc.. Very interesting. Short 3 km drive to the village pub in Killala for an evening meal.

Neu renoviertes Zimmer, sehr sauber und geschmackvoll hergerichtet mit Blumen auf den Handtüchern....allerdings hat es im Erdgeschoss öfter nach Zigarettenrauch gerochen, muß vom Vermieter gewesen sein, da die Unterkunft eigentlich rauchfrei sein sollte ( wir sind Nichtraucher)

Das Bad ist etwas beengt, Kamera überwachung in den Räumen ( ausser im gebuchten Zimmer) ist etwas unangenehm, man fühlt sich dauert beobachtet

A hidden gem that our family absolutely loved. The setting is wonderfully peaceful, just a short walk from the beach — where we even spotted a fox on one of our walks! Breakfast was a highlight: plentiful options that thoughtfully included vegan and whole food choices. The rooms were spotlessly clean and decorated with a tasteful, functional touch that made everything feel just right. The owner was the heart of the place — a kind, hardworking man who warmly showed us around his farm. We left feeling genuinely refreshed. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic, caring B&B experience.

Family home recently renovated with ceiling windows that allow you to see the full sky and all the stars at night, very quiet and relaxing and super close to the beach. The hosts were super nice and accommodating, the breakfast was homemade and delicious!

We had a truly wonderful stay at this guesthouse and can highly recommend it! The location is perfect, situated between two beautiful beaches, both easily reachable on foot. The house and rooms are newly renovated, very modern, and spotlessly clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable, which made our stay even more relaxing. The hosts were exceptionally kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was delicious, especially with fresh eggs from their own hens! We also really enjoyed being able to visit the animals next to the guesthouse, which added a special charm to the experience. Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we would definitely love to come back!

We had a very good time at Ross's farmhouse. The room and the house was very clean, peaceful and comfortable. There was a roof window in twin room, we could do star gazing at night. It was amazing. The space in corridor was lovely to sit down and relax even on a rainy day. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming people. The breakfast was perfect too.

The house is so clean and comfortable. The location, a short walk from one of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever seen, made this stay-over exceptional! Lokalizacja idealna, piękne plaże tuż za rogiem, urocze zwierzątka w pobliżu (osiołki, krowy, pieski ,koń, kot). Śniadanie znakomite i obfite (nie jak w innych hotelach- z jedną potrawą do wyboru).

the family dynamics. All the family worked together. The owners welcomed us on arriving and had a good chit chat. our room was seperate from our room but it was our own bathroom so fantastic. only another 2 couples staying there so small accom but cozy!! the breakfast was amazing. endless cups of tea, cereals the main meal was abound and i mean abound with fresh salmon, yummy!! eggs beautiful soda bread fruits etc. So you get a list of what you want for breakfast and you choose. I ticked the salmon with eggs and it also said in another box "Duck egg or Hen egg" so i ticked i wanted chicken eggs and my husband also ticked same, Well, we ended up with a huge amount of eggs!! so dont tick the other box. It was a laugh. i was extremely satisfied and full after that!! the familys daughter served us breakfast and thank you daughter because you did an exceptional job. well done ross farmhouse

Seamus was an excellent host with an absolutely incredible house at a perfect location. The breakfast was amazing but what made the trip amazing was the profoundly interesting conversation we've had with Seamus. It was an amazing exchange that we'll fondly remember and we really hope we'll be able to come back some day.

Exceptional stay with Seamus who was a super welcoming, kind and friendly host. Room and house were very clean and nicely decorated, and beds were really comfortable. Ensuite was also spotless and in tip top condition with a very good shower. There are animals (dogs, kittens, ducks, chickens and more) out the back and we really appreciated Seamus showing us around and bringing out puppies! We loved the chats and learning about the B&B - it was so lovely seeing the care and thought that's been given to the home and farm, and the attention to detail to everything which has made it such a memorable stay. The breakfast was very generous with homemade goods including eggs from the hens, and there were plenty of options to choose from. The location was peaceful and beautiful, and the house was well soundproofed and very quiet. Definitely worth driving here for the stay and we'd love to visit again!
