Alpine Bed and Breakfast

Had everything you need for a well-deserved rest after a long road travelled

Everything was to my liking.

Peaceful environment

Pillows were too high

Excellent location. Lovely little kitchen. Good breakfast 😋

Spacious lovely bedrooms! Loved the heater blankets for winter.

We were 3 couples travelling together, our rooms were located close to one another. The rooms are well appointed with everything you need, lots of plug points, hot water, air conditioning/heating. The knives, forks and spoons are individually wrapped - everything is very clean. We had a delicious supper and breakfast the following morning. Would definitely return.

Location, comfortable and clean rooms with friendly and welcoming host. Safe parking

Nothing

Absolutely beautiful, attention to detail. Hosts were lovely.

There was nothing not to like, all stunning ♡♡♡

Great location with helpful staff and a great breakfast. Perfect stop off to break a long journey.

Perfectly placed for an interprovincial trip. Good rooms, helpful staff and a great breakfast.

The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. thank you!

All was good.

Comfortable and convenient for overnight stay.

Nothing.

Breakfast was filling and excellent. Loved the two Daschunds.

Nothiing.

The coffee shop on the same premises and the dinner which was delivered to our room.

We had a serial smoker in the room next to ours, who regularly sat outside our room to smoke. It was disturbing and unpleasant.

Friendly stuff, scrumptious 😋 breakfast. An easy place to locate. Definitely recommend you to stop by.

The fact that our stay was short.

The owner went out of her way to arrange a delicious meal for us after a,long day driving.

We liked literally everything about this place.. The location, the people, the atmosphere and the food

Absolutely nothing

The owners take an interest in their guests. All queries are answered. Very friendly atmosphere.

Its was a good stay, staff very friendly, felt very safe😄

Perfect overnight stop while travelling to Eastern Cape. The room was very well equipped and spotless. The staff were extremely helpful and the food was delicious.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Very accommodating.

There was no hot water when I needed to shower at 4am. I ran the shower for at least 20 minutes but just freezing cold water. It was 0 degrees outside so a hot shower would have been nice. There was no staff available at that time as it was 4am so no one to ask about it. Otherwise I would have given it a 10 out of 10. Anyway, other than freezing in the shower it was a good place to night stop.

There is a coffee shop on the property. We were made to feel most welcome and the room and en-suite bathroom was comfortable. Grateful for the cooked meal made available on a Sunday evening by the owners. Superb breakfast.

We would have preferred a sofa or more comfortable seating in the little lounge area adjacent to the room.

Goed ontbijt. Verwarmde kamer.

Omgeving.

Safe parking inside, friendly owners, convenient place to stay

The owner and staff were very friendly and so accommodating, even at 10pm.

Cosy and comfortable eletric blanket was a bonus.

We couldn’t get breakfast as a take away as we were leaving early for work,we spoke to a lady who checked us in that we planning to leave she said she can pack it for us if we come before 9am which my colleague did but was told by the same lady they don’t do take away which was included when paying so we did not have breakfast,so disappointed but the place is good i love it.

We needed to leave early before breakfast; they were able to provide us with packed breakfast for the road.

Nothing.

Super area for our dog to romp and stretch after a long 6 hours

Very good breakfast , good location and safe parking

Remote of Tv decoder was faulty.

Friendly hosts. Got everything you need and great that it is pet friendly

Good location

On our previous stay the dining room and bar was open and we enjoyed an evening meal and drink, when we arrived on this trip we found the bar and restaurant closed and we had to have our pre ordered meal in our room, the meal was barely edible, over microwaved to a crisp there was nobody to complain to that evening the staff did however apologise the next morning and offer to compensate us

Very friendly staff, unit was exceptionally clean. Breakfast was superb, fantastic service , safe environment. Prices at coffee shop good value for money.

The gas geysers - water kept cutting to cold, otherwise everything was amazing. Well done! And we will definitely be back

We stayed only 1 night, but all was good

Beautiful and comfortable room. Lovely people and service.

Beautiful place managed by adorable owners, we didn't stay long enough, wish we could have extended!

Our dogs were so at home here making our stay very pleasant loved the lawn off our room so they could run and just be dogs

Good safe secure location, clean room although our air conditioning was quite noisy during the night. Good breakfast pleasant hosts.

Noisy air conditioning during the night.

Location . Room had kitchenette , big comfortable beds and serve dinner in evening .

Nothing .

Ample secure parking, pleasant gardens, friendly and helpful hosts who communicated well with regards to our dinner selection. We were very happy with the dinner, breakfast and all the facilities that were provided in our rooms. We had a very peaceful and restful nights stay.

No complaints.

Clean and quiet

Nothing

Very comfortable, quiet, the staff ensured everything was right for us and produced an unexpected but lovey evening meal. The breakfasts are brilliant too.

Not a lot. A pool would be great but not a necessity.

The breakfast and dinner was very good. Fritz went out of his way to accommodate our dinner and breakfast times.

The room smelt of smoke. The previous guest must have smoked in the room which should'nt be allowed.

The owner/manager was very cheerful and polite.

The allocated rooms were in a very dark area of the property where there was very little natural light. There appeared to be other available rooms with a patio that faced on to a lovely lawned area, so we would have expected that these rooms would have been offered to us as an alternative, which would have made our stay more enjoyable and comfortable. I would recommend that anyone who is given any of the two rooms at the far rear right of the property, request to be moved to the lawned area where the children's play area is situated.

Theocation was great and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast before we left for home. Exceptionally good value for money. Friendly host

Nice food, nice bath

Pillows were a bit uncomfortable

A well organized and clean establishment that gives picture perfect rest to travellers

I enjoyed the total experience

Beautiful, friendly, very clean, well equipped and safe accommodation in Maclear. Bed was very comfortable, a lovely hot shower and delicious breakfast in the morning. Beautiful grounds.

No streaming services on tv.

Location, friendly staff, clean, good hospitality.

Passage way from the bathroom - floor uneven, could easily trip and fall.

A spacious, clean and practical accomodation. The breakfast was also great!

Omelet was delicious!!

na

The scrumptious breakfast, with good coffee, attentive and most friendly hosts with attention to detail and added bonus of a beautiful view made Alpine an excellent choice for us.

Nice facility with friendly staff and a good breakfast. Will be back

Lovely, spacious rooms. The people are friendly and accommodating. Lekke overnight stay!

Super gelegene Unterkunft, wenn man nicht durch die Transkei fahren will! Wird dringend von abgeraten. Der Weg zur Unterkunft ist landschaftlich wirklich toll und die Unterkunft sicher und sehr ruhig gelegen!!

Great service, friendly staff, great breakfast

Shower, was either fire water or ice cold with a brief window that was okay to quickly get done what needed doing.

Rooms were clean and comfortable. Excellent service from the owners. Location is just perfect.

Large amount of mosquitos in the room. Suggest to install fly mesh on the windows and doors

Room and bathroom were lovely and large with everything you needed. Accommodation so conveniently placed right next to the main road but you don’t hear any traffic. There is also a lovely coffee shop on the premises. Hosts and staff very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent stopover on R 56 in Maclear. Everything works exceedingly well, from the room to the staff to the breakfast.

Nothing.

very convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable room, good value for money, good food, cute dogs

brilliant location, excellant food and staff

Bed was soft and the people in the room next door very noisy a lot of the night

It was so convenient to have the property on the edge of town. Rooms were lovely, clean and had a fridge and very comfortable.

A very pleasant surprise in a very small town. Room was very comfortable, clean, had everything we needed, including a fridge and iron and so quiet at night, having the option of a meal for dinner and breakfast was great. Will definitely stay again.
