Very friendly staff, traditional dar vibe excellent location, unsure if the owner also has dar tozeur as we were taken for breakfast there, which was nice to have a look at
Pool had a dead lizard in for the duration of the stay, to improve I would recommend some more comfortable outdoor seating, as there was some rattan furniture and a large table and chairs under some shade but would’ve been nice to have some sunloungers and more comfortable seating to enjoy the sunshine in
The property looks way better in pictures and in reality it’s super old and dusty. The rooms and everything in the rooms were too old and damaged.
Everywhere was extremely dirty. The power kept going out. It was so cold that we couldn’t sleep the entire night.

The room was big and confortable
The floor of the room was dirty and the wifi didn’t work. Moreover, we booked only the room at the hotel and one week before they sent a message informing that we were obliged to have diner on 31 December at the other hotel of the same owner. The breakfast on 1st January was also in this other hotel but they forgot to let us know.
Like in a fairy tale. Wonderful place in a wonderful city. Thanl you Aziz, thanl you Adnan for all the effort and kindness.
Wonderful hotel in the middle of Medina. Upgrade in suite with balcony
The swimming pool was empty. But it was cold and we couldn't use it in any case.
It was a romantic and quiet place. The room was nicely furnished, the breakfast was good and the staff were lovely.
The swimming pool was out of order, some renovation is needed for the whole place, no Wifi in my room and a lot of lights both inside and outside not working. Too expensive for what it was.
We were moved to Dar Tozeur owing to renovations. We were so impressed with every aspect of our stay. This truly is an oasis with an oasis. We cannot fault any part of our stay. Staff were kind and attentive and communication warm and friendly. We have no hesitation in giving the highest recommendation to this establishment.
The room and the hotel are beautiful, stuff nice. Even before the travel, email communication in English was easy.
The dinner and hammam are in a different hotel that has probably the same owners. It is not a big issue, but especially hammam it was not so nice crossing the medina streets with wet hair. But the distance is really short. My complain is that for the high price the hotel is charging, this information should be provided during the booking. The dinner was also tasty.
The greenery and pool is lovely.
The shower was broken and after we pointed it out, they came to look and still did not fix it. The water pressure is awful. Also, the property is very difficult to find as it has no signage. We ran out of toilet paper and the only remaining roll which we got from housekeeping, had brown water stains on it. During the day, it is incredibly loud in the room because of the other guests. The front staff does not speak English so we relied on Google translate to communicate. There was still a misunderstanding and when we booked a taxi, we thought we had confirmed 14 dinar and when it came time, the front desk lady stated it was 40 dinar. We ended up leaving and finding a taxi in the street for 10 dinar.
It was a fairytale, 1001 nights. Absolutely loved everything. Even more beautiful than the pictures tell you. We had suite “electra” and we highly recommend that one. Amazing. And the staff was the bomb, especially the ladies from the housekeeping. Love them. Swimming pool was extraordinary. We could have stayed here forever.
Nothing we didn’t like.
Good breakfast Staff helpful when we could them
No staff apart from the mornings for breakfast Very difficult to find as no street names Was very difficult to get into the hotel in the day as no key and no staff around, had to ring Dar Tozeur
The whole place was idyllic; the breakfast was delicious and staff could not be more helpful.
Tea / coffee making facilities in the room.
location, splendid architecture
we didnt have water
Cosy well decorated and beautiful courtyard Good location
Bathroom - broken shower head and no pressure and bad lighting No reception - there is an old men opening the door but no one on site at all time that you can speak to. No generator Problem when there was a general blackout and someone came after one hour with candle This hotel accept kids in contrast to their sister hotel next door dar tozeur ( same owner) but you can’t have diner on site ( need to go next door) which is really inconvenient when traveling with toddler. No fresh orange juice at breakfast in the city where oranges abound. Why?
use of Dar Tozeur properties was nice, receptionists and staff were helpful and accommodating
price of dinner was high
- pool - characteristic room - availability to have lunch and dinner in Dar Tozeur - friendly staff - 24/7 security at main door - location
- meals were overpriced for what we got - private parking should be communicated better to customers upon booking - location provided on booking.com is incorrect. please update it because it currently brings you to a cemetery
The property and dar itself is quite charming, with lots of local touches and the rooms are well-decorated.
Starting from our check-in, the experience overall was very negative. First of all, the dar charges you an outrageous fee for parking and doesn't provide any parking nearby, which for a "luxury dar" one would think it would be included. We arrived after 6pm and the greeting was a bit harsh--the person did not speak either English or French very well, and was extremely keen to settle our bill, to the point that he entered our room without knocking with a credit card machine in hand! Our room for 3 people had only one bath towel in it, and I requested 2 more bath towels that took over two hours and multiple phone calls to the manager to be delivered. The towels themselves were extremely harsh--again, one would think for a luxury dar, the standard of towels would be a detail someone would pay attention to. Our room itself had mosquitoes in it, and the twin beds provided for my children were rock hard and uncomfortable. The next day I asked if someone could come in and spray or provide mosquito outlet repellant and just finding a person to communicate with at the dar was near to impossible--it was like there was no one in charge and the only person I could speak to required calling the general number. The breakfast was fine, nothing special, and not great. Overall I would recommend seeking out another dar in Tozeur--there are plenty of other options and Dar Nejma needs some training for its staff and refreshing its facilities.
great pool, authentic Tunesien house
Could be a bit better maintained for the money we paid… but probably know much better options in that town
Very charming accomodation located in the old quarter (not medina) of the city. The staff is very helpful and you can order them everything you need. They offer a parking place a few minutes walking distance from the accomodation. They welcomed us with juice and dates, plus they left some fresh fruit in the room.
Dar Nejma is a little oasis within oasis-city Tozeur. We spent one night there in July 2022 and enjoyed every minute of it. The hotel is small and intimate; the freshwater pool and the palm and pomegranate trees, as well as the lavish vegetation that surround it, appear as a piece of paradise in the middle of the desert heat. Swimming in that pool after a long day visiting the oases was, definitely, one of the highlights of our trip. As a family, we stayed in one of the suites on the upper floor. We were impressed by its sheer size. The decoration was exquisite, the AC both necessary and welcome, the bathroom luxurious. We were offered dinner at Dar Tozeur, the somewhat higher end hotel from the same group. The place is also beautiful and the food was fantastic. Breakfast is included in the price of the room. It was modest, yet fresh and, all in all, adequate. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Dar Nejma is a beautiful hotel that can only be strongly recommended.
While the bathroom and the toilet were separate (a big plus) the toilet didn't have a proper door (only a curtain). Providing a real separation from the rest of the room might not be too difficult and would certainly add to the comfort and beauty of the room.
