Moana Haven B&B

We very much enjoyed our stay at Moana Haven. It is a peaceful place with stunning views, even at night, when you can marvel at the incredible starry sky. Debbie and Dean were wonderful hosts, and Debbie is an excellent cook. She treated us to a fantastic breakfast — everything from the yogurt to the granola was homemade and absolutely delicious. We also thoroughly enjoyed the “dine and wine” experience, featuring homemade produce, fresh fruit, and cheese. If you want to feel like you’re in a true haven, this is the place to be. We highly recommend staying here and would love to come back one day. Thank you, Debbie and Dean!

Debbie makes just about everything and her breakfast is to die for! The rooms are well appointed and comfortable making a truly relaxing atmosphere which coupled with the outstanding views made a destination well worth the short drive out from Havelock

Debbie and Dean are superb hosts. The location perfect for exploring the Marlborough area, the rooms are comfortable with views out over the sound and Debbie prepares homemade treats for breakfast, mist often from ingredients from their garden and fruit trees. We have stayed here twice and will come back next time we visit the area.

Utterly delightful stay with wonderful hosts who made me feel quite at home. Debbie couldn’t do enough for me and all her food was delicious. From the garden deck the views over Pelorus Sound were spectacular and the night sky is full of stars. Unforgettable.

Everything! Hosts were wonderful and the location was beautiful. There was a small fridge to put our drinks in upstairs which was really lovely. The place was spacious and comfortable. We had bad weather during most of our stay but were happy to spend hours hanging out in the accommodation to rest after a busy walk in abel tasman.

Debbie and Dean were perfect hosts and looked after us like family. Everything is homemade and delicious including Debbie’s amazing cheeses. The house is in a great location and spotlessly clean.

The views were spectacular, the property was beautiful, the hosts were welcoming, accommodating and trying their absolute best to make us really enjoy our stay. They provided good recommendations for lunch, dinner and sites to see and also hikes . The host even made us a sandwich for our hike!

De beste B&B die we in Nieuw-Zeeland zijn tegengekomen. Debbie en Dean zijn fantastische en gastvrije hosts. We voelden ons direct thuis: net alsof we bij vrienden logeerden. De kamer is comfortabel en ruim en heeft een fantastisch uitzicht op de Sound. Er is zelfs nog een extra huiskamer waar de gasten heerlijk kunnen zitten. Het ontbijt is grandioos: heel uitgebreid en gevarieerd met heerlijke door Debbie zelf gemaakte en zelf gebakken lekkernijen. De omgeving is wonderschoon en heel dichtbij de highlights van het gebied zoals de Queen Charlotte track en Pelorus Bridge. Dankzij de tips van Debbie en Dean wisten we precies waar we het beste heen konden gaan.

Deb and Dean were wonderful hosts, it's a magical location and a very cozy room. We cant wait to come back!

Das Frühstück hat keine Wünsche übrig gelassen. Jeden Tag gab es andere selbstgemachte Köstlichkeiten. Es war reichlich Angebot vorhanden. Der Garten, die Terrasse und der Blick auf das Meer waren unbeschreiblich schön. Debbie und Dean haben uns sehr gute Tipps für Aktivitäten gegeben. Wir haben uns Dank den beiden wie zu Hause gefühlt. It is hard to image more kind and caring people than Debbie and Dean. They make you feel so much at home, that it is emotional to have to leave their breathtaking spot in the Marlborough sounds.

We loved this place so much!! Debby & Dean made us feel so at home with their kind attention, delicious breakfasts, clean and beautiful room with a view. The possibility to lend their bikes and kayaks made it even more special. Do the Linkpath way and continue with a part of the Queen Charlotte track to the Look out. It was such a beautiful mountainbike trip (it is for intermediate cyclists) but you also can do the hiking. Another fun thing was the kayaking on the sound. Really special and cool to do. There are 4 good restaurants near by and Debbie made us the reservation. The view is spectacular and the atmosphere absolutely zen. So don’t miss on this gem if you go to the Marlborough Sounds ! ♥️

Perfect location near Havelock in the Marlborough Sounds. Debbie and Dean were perfect hosts and the B&B is a credit to both of them. Continental Breakfast was a fantastic selection of home cooked and prepared food. Rooms were very comfortable, spacious and quiet.

Moana B&B is located in a very quiet area with amazing views of the Sound. Our accommodations were very comfortable and Debbie and Dean were amazing hosts. Breakfast was amazing with many homemade jams, cheeses, yogurt, granola, etc for breakfast. Besides providing for our comfort they both were very friendly sharing insights into the area. Great hiking in the area (Queen Charlotte Track) and a nice "local" tavern serving delicious food about 5km from the B&B. We highly recommend Moana B&B.

Fabulous location and views. Lovely property and gardens. Exceptional hosts. Amazing breakfast with home grown and made jams, relishes, yogurt, cheese, eggs, apple juice. Really recommended.

We had the queen room; king would have been nice.

The accommodation was clean, comfortable and quiet. Our hosts were ever ready and keen to help and the breakfast fresh and tasty.

My wife and I have traveled a lot over the years and stayed with plenty of hosts around the world. I can honestly say Debbie was the best host we’ve ever had! She was warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind—just a great person who made us feel right at home. The room was super clean, the bed was really comfortable, and the linens were high quality—you could tell she cares about the little things. The house is in an amazing spot overlooking the Marlborough Sounds, and the views were absolutely stunning. And the food—wow. Everything was homemade and fresh from her garden. It was so good we couldn’t stop eating! Debbie went above and beyond, and we’re grateful we got to stay at her place. Highly recommend- if we could give 11 stars, we would!

It had the most beautiful views, the hosts were exceptional, the room/house was spotless, the food delicious, the patio/deck was perfect for relaxing,…it was the best place we stayed in all of the South Island…and we have stayed and enjoyed many of our other accommodations….this beat all the others by MILES (or should that be kilometers?). Absolutely loved our stay at Moana Haven.

We loved our stay at Moana Haven! Dean and Debbie were amazing! They went above and beyond making sure that our stay is comfortable. We felt very welcome and homely there! Homemade cheese and granola were super yum! The house is located in the most beautiful place with amazing views and lots of birds around.

This is probably the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in. The welcome and the local knowledge and information provided by Debbie and Dean was outstanding. The breakfast featuring lots of home made items was a memorable feature of staying here. Most of all, the view of the Sound from the room and the deck gave this beautiful house a tranquil and very special feel. An ideal base , too, for walks on Queen Charlotte Track.

Debbie, the host, has worked really hard to make this place so welcoming and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, both in quality and range of goods. So lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was a delight and the views were amazing. Great place to stay, as it was not too far to either Havelock or the local pub for Dinner.

Everything! From the warm welcome to the attention to detail by leaving a lavender sprig on the hand towel, the yummy short bread biscuits and the homemade cheese and relish. Debbie and Dean go way beyond what is required from a host! We stayed in a number of B&B’s over our two week holiday, Mona Haven was by far the best we felt so welcome and nothing was too much effort.Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome!

The room was spacious and very comfortable, with luxurious bed linens and toiletries in the bathroom. The property is beautifully maintained, overlooking a lush garden and the Pelorus Sound. The view was incomparable and waking up with the bird songs and a sunrise over the Sound was an unforgettable experience. But what really sets Moana Haven apart from other exquisite accommodations is the hosts - Debbie and Dean. From Debbie’s homemade shortbread biscuits (the best in the world, if you ask me), to a complimentary glass of wine with cake and tasting Debbie’s homemade cheese, making the reservations for our dinners, and even hosing down my hubby after he fell and got stuck in the mud during our kayaking attempt. It felt more like visiting friends, than staying in a B&B. We couldn’t recommend staying at Debbie and Dean more! Plus, we loved their dog Nico :)

Simply the most beautiful location. Only two guest rooms, both on first floor (2nd floor for Americans) with a shared tv room and full use of outdoor deck. Debbie and Dean are so friendly and welcoming; we felt as if we were staying in the home of good friends. Delicious breakfast and afternoon nibbles. Debbie makes her own yogurt, cheese, preserves and etc.

Debbie and Dean have the most amazing B and B. They are so welcoming and went above and beyond with their effort to make our holiday perfect. The views from the property are breathtaking. The gardens were lovely and the birdlife plentiful. The guest bedroom was a generous size including a walk-in robe, tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was definitely something not to be missed.

Spectacular & absolutely gorgeous place, the views of Pelorus Sound, garden & birds so enjoyable. Welcoming & friendly hosts made sure we were looked after, local wine taster offered, breakfast was plentiful & included delicious homemade & local produce. About 15 mins drive to Havelock for Pelorus Mailboat, shops, pub food & cafes.

The warmhearted welcome by Debbie and Dean, the very, very tasty breakfast, the great location of the place, the wonderfull view from our bedroom to the sound,the lovely dog,the useful suggestions what to visit in the area and where the bedt cafes and restaurants are. And on top, when we forgot our walking sticks Dean was so extraordinary kind to bring them to a gas station in Richmond, so that we could pick them up on our trip to further south the next day. Everything is perfect. Lovely courtyard with a great view whilst listening the birds and smell of nature. Property is full of fruit trees. The property interior is impeccably well maintained and smelling sweet with rooms with a great view. Host Derby and Dean makes the entire experience unforgettable.

The rooms were very comfortable, clean and had a fantastic view. Sitting rooms were available as well as on outdoor patio to sit to enjoy the view and listen to the birds. An idyllic place to stay. Wonderful stay with enoursmously welcoming hosts with whom I am had long meaningful conversations. Stunning views from all around the house and rooms of the Sounds. The bnb only has two guest rooms so it is very tranquil when you have the delicious breakfast filled with locally grown produce such as feijoas.

This place is literally 10000/10! Staying at the Moana Haven B&B felt like coming home throughout our holiday. Debbie and Dean are so lovely; we enjoyed really delicious breakfast and some fresh juice and a piece of chocolate after our biking tour and were rewarded with an amazing view. The room was exceptionally clean and the bed was so so so comfy! This place is truly a remarkable B&B; we loved to stay there and we will come back for sure!

Along with the Trans Alpine train journey, Moana was the highlight of our visit. Debbie and Dean's attention to detail is superb, with beautifully curated breakfasts which change daily, to home made biscuits and exquisite toiletries. The immaculate home is set in tranquil and beautiful gardens with amazing views from every window. Just a short drive to the mussel capital of Havelock there are plenty of options to eat out. Blenheim is about a forty minute drive.

Debbie and Dean are fabulous hosts. Morning brecky was a marvel every day. Homemade cheeses, jellies, biscuits, fresh eggs, fruit, yogurt.... Enjoyed afternoon wine on the terrace overlooking the sound.

A beautiful home. Our bedroom was so comfortable and peaceful. The view was breathtaking. Debbie was the perfect hostess . Due to ferry delays from Wellington we didn’t arrive until late. A wonderful warm welcome from Debbie. The breakfast was so delicious,Debbie is a super talented lady.
