Ruins Villa

I had a great stay at Ruins Villa. Upali teaches you a lot about the jungle, Sri Lanka and the way of living. He goes out of his way a lot to help you in your stay. The food is amazing and you can also rent bikes for a very cheap price to explore the Ancient City

Frühstück (positiv: Sri-lankisch, und nicht diese Kulturlosigkeit des Continental Breakfasts) und Dinner sehr gut. Warmwasserbereiter schien nicht zu funktionieren, es kam aber auch so ausreichend warmes Wasser. Super hilfsbereiter Gastgeber, der, wie andere Rezensenten schon angemerkt haben, gut Englisch spricht, sodass man gehaltvolle Gespräche führen kann. Zudem Lage gut, da direkt an einem der Ausgänge des Parks. Der Eingang ist rd. 4km weg, der Gastgeber bietet Fahrräder im vernünftigem Zustand an. UK-Style Steckdose vorhanden. Bett bequem. Angesichts des Dengue-Ausbruchs hatten wir auch Sorgen vor Mosquitos, aber es gab praktisch keine (wohl wegen der langen Trockenheit); wir waren im September 2026 in der Unterkunft.

Leider war es zur Zeit unseres Besuchs extrem warm, sodass man selbst mit Ventilator auf sehr starker Stufe (damit auch Ohropax-Notwendigkeit, die man aber auch wegen der Hunde nachts benötigt) zumindest in der ersten Nacht kaum schlafen konnte. Zudem muss man wissen, dass anscheinend keine Seife im Badezimmer bereitliegt, man bekommt sie aber auf Nachfrage. Die Mosquitonetze haben teilweise Löcher, allerdings braucht man das Netz nicht, wenn der Ventilator stark genug läuft.

La tranquillité et l’accessibilité du propriétaire. J’ai pu louer un vélo pour 1000 roupies afin d’explorer le site archéologique dont une sortie est très proche.

Les Sri lankais sont gentils en général mais à Ruins villa le propriétaire est extraordinaire. Il a pris le temps de discuter avec nous, de nous faire faire une petite visite de nuit afin d'observer les animaux nocturnes et ce gratuitement. A notre demande nous avons mangé un Rice and curry chez lui. Ça été le meilleur de notre voyage. L'établissement est vraiment proche du site des ruines. Il loue des vélos pour en faire la visite et découvrir les alentours. Nous avons regretter d'avoir loué qu'une seule nuit. La maison est vraiment belle et il y a un étang sur le terrain pour observer les oiseaux. Merci énormément d'avoir un si grand coeur.

Really close to Wilpatu, nice people and delicious dinner. You can arrange the safari with them, good prices.

For my experience in Sri Lanka, a bit expensive but not to far

In der Ruins Villa passt eifach alles, der Vermieter ist freundlich, unterstützend (ohne aufdringlich zu sein). Der Schutz seiner Privatsphäre ist im wichtig, dabei fühlt sich der Gast in keinster Weise eingeschränkt, das ist für alle super emphatisch. Die Räume sind großzügig, sauber, alles funktioniert und es gibt eine große Terrasse mit Blick auf den Garten. In diesem kleinen Dchungel kommen die verschiedensten Tiere vorbei, der Vermieter kennt alle und teilt bereitwillig sein Wissen. Durch die Lage neben dem Archeologischen Gebiet ist es auch noch sehr ruhig. Es gibt einige Fahrräder, da findet sich sicher ein passendes.

Everything was brilliant: Excellent value for money, the room is spacious and has everything you need. There is also very nice outside seating. Great home cooking, among the very best we have had on this trip. Wonderful location in the middle of nature with lots of wildlife, close to the ancient city of Polonnaruwa. But the jewel in the crown was our host Upali, who went way above and beyond what might be expected. He helped us organize our tours and transfer for a very reasonable rate. He ran several errands for us. He gave us two free tours, both very informative: a night walk and a visit to the rice fields close by. And we had countless very interesting conversations with him about many aspects of life. We could not have asked for more.

Absolutely nothing

Tolle Unterkunft, total nette und zuvorkommende Besitzer. Wir haben für die Ancient City Fahrräder ausgeliehen, in der Unterkunft zu Abend und Frühstück nach unseren Wünschen zubereitet bekommen - und es war total lecker. Der Host war immer erreichbar und hat mit uns eine kleine Abend Wanderung gemacht.

L’accueil très attentionné du propriétaire qui m’a ramené un autre vélo quand le mien a crevé, l’environnement dans la nature, la proximité avec le site archéologique en vélo.

Il y avait une fête dans la maison voisine avec de la musique très forte. Mais c’était samedi soir…

Coup de cœur pour cette petite guesthouse. Tout nous a convenu : le calme, la simplicité, l'accueil, les repas ... Nous regrettons de ne pas avoir séjourné plus longtemps dans ce havre de paix. La localisation au coeur du site archéologique est parfaite pour la visite. Le gérant est adorable. Il nous a proposé une petite promenade de nuit (gratuite) à la recherche des animaux nocturnes. Il nous a emmené gratuitement à la gare routière dans son tuk-tuk alors qu'on craignait une pénurie d'essence dans le contexte de l'attaque militaire toute récente en Iran.

Les vélos de location gagneraient à être entretenu parce que leur état est très limite... mais c'est vraiment un détail !

Het leukst was de wandeling na het eten met de host. De kamer was netjes, we hebben goed geslapen. Het ontbijt was heel lekker

Upali is a wonderful hos. He was so helpful and happy to go out of his way to make our stay special. The villa is in a beautiful spot in a lovely village outside Polonaruwa. The grounds are extensive, including a large pond which is perfect for experiencing the magic of a Sri Lankan sunrise, surrounded by bird song and the calls of monkeys. It's also convenient for visiting the ancient city and Upali has a stock of bikes to hire for the day. The Sri Lankan breakfast was great too. This was our fist foray outside Colombo and honestly it was one of the highlights of the whole holiday. Many thanks Upali - I hope we'll be back!

I loved my stay at Ruins Villa. The room is definitely minimal but I didn't really need anything i didn't have. It was spacious and clean. The owner is fantastic and a joy to speak with. He took me on an evening walk to see animals and we talked a lot about traveling. Its so close to the ruins! I used a bicycle and rode the entire park. The food is some of the best curry i had on my entire trip. I would definitely stay again.

A warmer light in the room would help a lot with the comfy feeling and the mosquito net needs something to drape over on the bed to keep it off of the body.

Camera e bagno ampi e puliti, ma basterebbe qualche accortezza in più per rendere il tutto più comodo per i viaggiatori (una mensola, un attaccapanni, le zanzariere alle finestre). La posizione defilata è risultata un po' più impegnativa a causa della pioggia, ma la casa è in un paradiso. Cene deliziose e accurate, il padrone di casa gentile e attento.

Sometimes, in a little hotel or homestay, you can get moments of magic. This is one of those places. There are no frills - just a very clean en-suite room, a fan, a comfortable bed and some lovely home cooking available. Sit quietly in the verandah for a few peaceful moments, and the jungle wildlife comes to you like a Kipling poem; langurs, deer, and giant squirrels all came past. There were a pair of birds taking turns to sleep in the bougainvillaea outside our window. It felt like the essence of Sri Lanka. Upali is a charming and understated host who will take you on a nighttime walk to see the animals like hornbills and porcupines. We loved it.

Tutto perfetta, dimensioni della camera, acqua calda, colazione, cena preparata dalla famiglia, la cortesia di questa famiglia è eccezionale, come di tutte le persone incontrare in Sri Lanka! Addirittura ci hanno aiutato ad organizzare uno spostamento in taxi due giorni dopo che avevamo lasciato la guest house, si sono interessati dei nostri spostamenti e ci hanno aiutato a distanza! La passeggiata notturna per vedere gli animali è stata speciale! Consiglierei a tutti di venire qui!

Attenzione a farsi dare le indicazioni giuste per entrare nell'area archeologica, l'uscita è vicina ma l'entrata no! In più noi ci siamo fatti un'ora in bici sotto il sole perché i biglietti si fanno da un'altra parte. Consiglio di andare in tuk tuk all'ingresso!

Tout est parfait. La chambre et les sanitaires sont propres. Il y a une moustiquaire et la climatisation. Petit déjeuner et dîner possibles sur place, c’est très bon et très copieux. Excellents conseils pour les activités à faire autour et pour assurer le transport si nécessaire. Le propriétaire est sympa, disponible et propose des promenades nocturnes.

L’hôte est chaleureux et passionné de nature! Le soir, il nous a emmenés voir les animaux aux alentours (hibou, biches, chauve souris, oiseaux). Les repas sont copieux et très bons! La localisation est parfaite pour visiter le site historique. La location de vélos est également possible auprès de l’hôte ce qui facilite grandement la visite.

La struttura è a 5 minuti di bicicletta dal sito archeologico. Abbiamo potuto noleggiare le biciclette presso di loro. La camera è essenziale ma pulita e spaziosa. La colazione e la cena sono state buonissime! Il valore aggiunto è sicuramente il proprietario che ci ha dato tante informazioni per la visita della città antica e ci ha raccontato molto del suo Paese. La passeggiata serale in cerca degli animali è stata davvero divertente!

L’estada a Ruins Villa va ser perfecte. El propietari del lloc era amable i proper, hi, vam menjar molt bé i ens vam sentir molt cuidats. Ell mateix ens va llogar les bicicletes i recomanem molt el passeig pel canal: ens va encantar! A la nit ens va portar a fer una ruta nocturna per conèixer la fauna de la zona i va ser molt bonic també.

Wir haben uns bei Upali super wohl gefühlt. Es war nach dem anstrengenden Tag in Polonaruwa eine Oase der Ruhe mitten im Wald. Während des Lesens auf der Terrasse besuchten uns Rehe und Affen und abends bei der kleinen Nachtwanderung mit Upali (kostenlos) konnten wir einen Lori, Rehe, Fledermäuse und einen Baumfrosch sehen. Auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert...

Nichts... Es gab keine Klimaanlage ... Aber so war es ja auch inseriert.

Notre hote sais recevoir et faire partager sa passion de la nature des animaux et des plantes. Promenade pour voir les lucioles les poissons d argents les hérons le varan .les dains. Le kotu était excelent Merci pour tout Prix défiant toute concurrence

Maison bien située loin de l'agitation de la ville mais a proximité de la cité ancienne à vélo. Arrivés trop tardivement à la guesthouse pour envisager une visite, il nous a fait decouvrir la riziere, des oiseaux et a cueilli des noix de coco pour nous faire gouter le lait. Notre hôte est passionné par la nature et nous a emmené faire des balades nocturnes pour nous montrer des animaux locaux. Super accueil, il est au petit soin pour nous. Sa compagne cuisine divinement bien ! Nous avons adoré notre séjour là-bas !

The host is super nice and caring about his guests. Dinners and breakfasts are all home-made by his wife, and delicious! Highly recommended. He helped us in getting a taxi to reach the property, and he offered a night tour around the house to see animals. The house is located near the Pollonaruwa archaeological site, which can be reached by bike - super nice ride along a river (also recommended!). Bike rental is available at the property. The house is very quiet and surrounded by vegetation (perfect for relaxing!)

Maison en pleine nature, très agréable et apaisant. Notre hôte a été aux petits soins, dans l'échange, très curieux et très intéressant. Nous y avons également très bien mangé. La chambre était propre et confortable. Nous étions suffisamment proche du site archéologique de Polonnaruwa, où nous nous sommes rendus en louant des vélos a un prix dérisoire. Le + non-négligeable: la balade nocturne pour observer la faune locale avec le propriétaire des lieux. Génial !

Upali is so kind and welcoming, the breakfasts and dinners were delicious and plentiful. The real highlight was the night walk that Upali took us on - we saw hornbills, mouse deer and fireflies. We hope to return one day

This place was amazing! Beautiful location, very comfy bed and such friendly hosts! I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to go to Polonnarawu. It’s very affordable and the location is right next to the ancient city. You can get a bicycle to get around. The food is amazing, the wife of the host is a truly amazing chef. Every night we would go for a little wild life walk, free of charge! He also helped me to arrange a safari tour, which was very affordable; I was by myself and I paid the entrance fee and I had a my own driver/guide and in total I did not spend more than €75,-!! I would recommend everyone going here!

L’emplacement est idéal pour visiter la cité ancienne de Polonnaruwa. Upali m’a emmenée faire une promenade nocturne pour découvrir la faune locale. Délicieux repas et petit déjeuner traditionnel.

The family were very nice and spoke English very well. The wife of the landlord cooked dinner (which we paid for) that was absolutely delicious.

We asked for a room with a fan rather than AC as AC can get a little too cold and drying and my daughter has asthma. When we arrived at the property there was a hornets nest outside our room and huge hornets were entering our room. So we unrolled the mosquito net over our bed to preserve some space that the hornets could not enter. However, the room also contained mosquitos and some were already settled on and inside the net. What is more the mosquito net had many large holes in it and was not going to prevent either hornets or mosquitoes from getting to us. Sri Lankan mosquitoes carry dengue fever so we were very worried. We managed to kill the hornet in the bathroom any many mosquitoes but could not get them all. Further, there was a large gap under the door that more insects could use to infiltrate our room. I rolled up my laundry and had to use it as a 'draft excluder' to prevent any more insects from getting in. The worst part was that we then had to protect ourselves from mosquito bites by wearing a long sleeve top, trousers and socks. This meant it was extremely hot in the room and we could not open any windows. The room contained AC so we turned the AC on but the landlord came and informed us that he would be doubling the price of our room for using the AC. We tried to explain that we could not sleep in light night wear under the mosquito net due to the holes but he did not want to listen and was not empathetic and charged us 25 USD cash for the room. Please see the photos of the mosquito net (which someone had tried to patch up several times, even with bandaids). Digging deeper in the reviews there seem to be a number which detail the 'heaps of mosquitoes' and also that the Wifi did not work. I had a Teams meeting that I could not conduct as the wifi did not infact work. This is a difficult review as it is clear that the family is struggling financially but customer's health cannot be compromised to save money.

Une étape unique chez un hôte remarquable. Upali a su rendre notre séjour parfait avec une attention particulière, des plats délicieux et surtout une passion débordante pour la nature. Il nous a partagé ses connaissances de la faune et la flore locale, avec pour point culminant une balade nocturne à la recherche d’animaux sauvages (toucans, chauve-souris, singes, daims… mais peuvent être trouver des loutres et des porc épiques !) L’emplacement est à deux pas d’une entrée de la cité antique si vous souhaitez visiter ce trésor culturel. Sans doute l’un des meilleurs séjours que nous avons eu au Sri Lanka!!

J'ai passé un séjour extra. Upali et sa famille sont très accueillants et souriants, j'ai reçu un accueil chaleureux. Les repas et petits déjeuners sont top je recommande. La chambre est impeccable. L'endroit est juste magique si vous aimez observer les oiseaux. Upali est passionné, il m'a fait découvrir les petits trèsors de la nature autour de sa maison et m'a conseillé de très bons endroits à visiter. Encore merci pour tout.

Der Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit gewesen. Er hat uns gute Tipps gegeben und auch eine Nachtwanderung mit uns gemacht. Man hat sich sehr wohl bei ihm und seiner Familie gefühlt. Abendbrot und Frühstück waren sehr lecker gewesen. Auch der Garten ist wunderschön. Hier ist man im wirklichen Sri Lanka angekommen. Es ist eine authentische Unterkunft und sehr sauber.

Das Zimmer und Bad wären groß genug für ein paar Ablagen. Im Bad gab es leider gar keine für die Waschtasche und im Schlafraum befanden sich nur eine Bank und ein Spiegel, sowie eine Art stummer Diener vor dem Bad. Es gab auch keine Nachttische. Somit ist es sehr schwierig sich ein bisschen einzurichten. Aber das kann man ja verbessern. In unserem Zimmer hat es stark nach Schimmel gerochen. Ich habe es dem Gastgeber mitgeteilt und er wird nachsehen woher der Geruch kommt. Wir vermuten, dass es einen Wasserschaden in der Decke gab, denn Schimmel gesehen haben wir nicht.

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen. Der Gastgeber und seine Familie sind sehr herzlich und weltoffen und kümmern sich um jedes Anliegen. Wir haben von ihm die Taxifahrt zur Unterkunft und auch eine Tuktuk Rundfahrt durch die historischen Tempel organisiert bekommen. Beides zu einem sehr fairen Preis. Vor Ort verkauft er Wasser zum Einkaufspreis weiter, so dass man es nicht hinschleppen muss. Wir haben dort auch zu Abend gegessen, was wirklich sehr lecker war. Wenn man in die Stadt fahren möchte, leiht er einem auch Fahrräder aus (ca. 15min Fahrt an Reisfeldern und Fluss entlang). Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!

Very pleasant stay, the family were kind and friendly. The rural location was lovely and although google shows the access roads into the ancient city, tourist must go via the ticket office by the lake only. For me that was a pleasant walk along the canal road. On the day I visited the ancient city I rented a bike from host, which was a great way to get around and meant I could also cycle to the second lake.

The was a problem with the wifi.

Le cadre très calme et au milieu de la verdure. Pas loin du canal où il est possible de se baigner. La gentillesse de notre hôte, toujours disponible pour tout. Les repas délicieux préparés par notre logeuse ainsi que les petits déjeuners.

This is such a lovely place in an incredibly quiet and peaceful location, surrounded by nature. Yes, it is basic, but excellent value and Upali and his family make the stay very special. We went on two night walks and although we didn't see some of the rarer animals as it was the wrong time of year, we saw lots of deer, a couple of hornbills, a land crab and fireflies. Highly recommended.

The beauty of the porch area and garden is not captured in the photos. We loved sitting on the porch and watching the wildlife. The surrounding area was quiet and beautiful. We enjoyed our night walk with our host and saw deer and fireflies. We loved the option to rent bicycles and the ride through the countryside and Polonnaruwa was a highlight of our trip. Our hosts were gracious and very accommodating. Food was great. The room itself is very sparse but clean and we found it to be a tremendous value. An addition of some bedside tables with lamps would be nice to place my eyeglasses and book:)

Very clean place with AC near the exit gate of the ancient city. Bikes for rent and the owner made us a delicious Sri Lankan vegan meal! The only thing that could be improved is WiFi speed and the size of the towels as they were very small. Make sure to bring insect repellent as there’s a ton of mosquitos in the area.

Upali est un hôtel extraordinaire, à l’écoute des clients et désireux de partager son amour pour la nature et la faune sauvage environnante! un vrai coup de cœur pour cet endroit paradisiaque, de douceur et connection avec la nature! situé à une des sorties du site de visite donc très facile d’accès, je recommande vivement! la nourriture est excellente, fraîche, peu pimentée pour les palais délicats …de supers échanges et une vraie envie de revenir séjourner auprès de cette jolie famille et de leur lieu…chambre impeccable

Der Hotelier war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich, hat für uns sogar Cola gekauft. Es war schön ruhig und mitten in der Natur gelegen. Sehr gut zum Entspannen geeignet. Wir hatten die Möglichkeit, Fahrräder zu leihen und mit denen ins Museum zu fahren. Das Abendessen und das Frühstück waren sehr lecker und ausgiebig.

In unserem Badezimmer war leider Schimmel, für eine Nacht okay, aber auf Dauer wahrscheinlich gesundheitlich bedenklich.

We had a great stay at Ruins Villa, right by the ancient city so that’s great. We had a nice breakfast and dinner cooked by our hosts who were very friendly and accommodating.

Ruins villa is a great relaxing place. The host is really nice, the house is in the middle of nature and at the same time really close to the cultural site. You rent bikes to visit around. The food is really good.

Un accueil formidable ! Nous avons beaucoup échangé avec notre hôte passionné de nature qui nous a fait découvrir beaucoup d’animaux, donné plein de conseils et parlé de son pays. Chambres avec Clim confortables et délicieux repas locaux Nous recommandons vivement !

We really liked this place a little oasis with lots of greenery and wild life. We went on a night walk with the owner which was great he also came and picked us up from the bus. A beautiful big terrace easy place to relax we hired bikes too and cycled round all the site. Definitely recommend

Staying with your host Andrew is a wonderful experience. Although the rooms are basic and not airconditioned Andrew will make your stay memorable. His food is great and his generosity to his guests is humbling. He may take you for a night walk to explore the area.

Extrem saubere Zimmer und Bad. upali leiht Fahrräder aus und das ist die perfekte Art die atemberaubenden Ruinen im Dschungel zu entdecken. unser Gastgeber Upali war superfreundlich, es gab sehr sehr leckeres Frühstück und Abendessen, viele wertvolle Tips für die Reise. wir wurden von Upali kostenfrei vom Busbahnhof Polonaroowa abgeholt. Klare Empfehlung, wir haben unsere 2 Nächte in der Ruins Villa sehr genossen.

Expérience exceptionnelle. Upali est très chaleureux et serviable il a répondu à toutes nos attentes. Sa guesthouse est très propre bien équipée et parfaitement située pour visiter Polonnaruva pas très loin du lac où nous nous sommes rendu en vélo entourée d'animaux de tous genres. Les dîners et petits dejeuner servis étaient délicieux et les balades du soir avec Upali très instructives et pleines de surprises. Nous avons adoré ce lieu merci encore à Upali et sa femme pour leur extrême gentillesse et leur sens de l'hospitalité.

Soggiornare qui è stato veramente bello e rilassante! La camera è grande e pulita! Il letto è comodissimo! Si possono noleggiare le biciclette per fare il giro delle rovine...inoltre c'è la possibilità di cenare in struttura e il cibo è buono. Chiacchierare con Upali è veramente interessante e piacevole! Sa un sacco di cose! 😉 Ci ha offerto anche un piccolo safari notturno per vedere gli animali! Consiglio vivamente 👍

Our host Upali was was extremely interesting and hospitable. The house was in the middle of the jungle, but only 10 minutes by bike from the center.

Les délicieux repas et l'accueil de notre hôte qui en plus est venu nous chercher à la gare. Le lieu : très calme et proche de Pollannaruwa à visiter. C'était parfait pour se reposer car nous arrivions de l'aéroport !

Sehr freundliche Familie. Gutes Frühstück und Abendessen. Ich wurde vom Familienvater mit dem Tuk Tuk vom Bus abgeholt und gebracht. Sehr gute Lage zu den Ruinen. Fahrräder können ausgeliehen werden. Schön im Grünen und ruhig. Ich habe mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt.

Naprosto všechno 🤩🤩🤩. Neřeším horko, protože to je všude a neřeším komáry, protože ti jsou taky všude 😂. Postel má síť, takže SUPER a ventilátor mi stačí. Upali è semplicemente fantastico. È un piacere stare in sua compagnia a chiacchierare, è gentilissimo e ci ha accompagnato da/all autobus sia all arrivo che alla partenza. Abbiamo affittato da lui delle bici a un prezzo ragionevole per visitare la città antica, che si trova a due passi dall alloggio. Camera e bagno grandi e puliti. L alloggio è immerso nel verde e nella natura. Upali la sera ci ha portato a fare una passeggiata per vedere gli animali. Buona la cena!

L’hôte était extraordinairement gentil! Il est venu me chercher à la gare et m’a re déposé à l’arrêt de bus. Je suis arrivée tard il m’a fait à manger quand même. La nourriture est fait maison et c’est toujours très bon. Nous avons même fait une petite marche le soir pour aller voir des animaux (cerfs, mangoustes, singes etc)

La wifi bug un peu, mais les singes cassent les lignes régulièrement donc pas grand chose à faire la dessus…

We loved our stay here. The host is super friendly, calm and helpful. They have bikes you can hire for a small amount and the ruins/sacred city is only a short cycle away. The host serves up delicious food and even takes you on a night wildlife walk. Highly recommend.

Notre hôte nous a accueilli chaleureusement.il nous a conseillé un site super chouette, temple bouddhiste en haut d'une petite montagne à Dimbulagala. Il a un stock de vélos en bon état. La guesthouse est ultra propre, dans un écrin de verdure au calme, limitrophe du parc archéologique. Petit dèj et riz&curry délicieux préparés par sa femme. Toujours plein d'attentions . Merci pour cette belle étape. Nous recommandons vivement

Rien, tout était parfait

Pěkné a pohodlné ubytování se zahradou. Je tu možnost si půjčit za 800 rupii kolo. Majitel pro nás po zavolani zadarmo přijel na autobusovou zastávku a na konci pobytu nás odvezl na autobusové nádraží .

Většinu pobytu nefungovala WiFi. A je tu i problém s operátorem Dialog. Takže jsme tu byly tak nějak bez internetu. Tohle ubytování jsem vybral protože je hned vedle starého města. Problém je v tom že pokud se chcete dostat do starého města tak musíte stejně do muzea pro vstupenky a muzeum je v novém městě cca 3 km od obytovani.

Wifi があまり良くないです。 オーナーから、ネットをあまり使って欲しくないような雰囲気を感じました。 朝食、夕食共高すぎる、だから食べませんでした。 コーヒーを飲む際にお湯を頼みましたが、水1.5リットルと同じ値段を取られたので驚きました。 電気代が高いからと。

C'est tout simplement le logement avec le meilleur rapport qualité/prix ou j'ai séjourné. L'acces de la maison est à 2 pas de la sortie de la cité antique de polonnaruwa, le "quartier" n'est pas du tout touristique, c'est super agréable de s'y balader à vélo. L'hôte loue des vélos pour la journée, c'est super! Les repas y sont délicieux et copieux!

La guest house se trouve à l'écart du centre dans un petit coin de nature très tranquille et avec un petit lac.Elle se trouve à 15 minutes en vélo de la cité antique de Polonnaruwa et la guest house loue des vélos pour 2,50 € la journée. La chambre était propre et spacieuse. Nous avions pris sans climatisation, par contre si vous avez besoin de fraîcheur la nuit choisissez alors avec la climatisation. Le petit-déjeuner déjeuner et repas le soir étaient délicieux, tout était fraîchement préparé. Le propriétaire est très sympathique et là pour tout ce dont vous avez besoin Il est venu nous chercher à l'arrêt de bus et nous y a conduit au retour.

Nous aurions voulu rester plus longtemps !

Guest house immersa nella natura con 3 camere che affacciano sul patio e sul giardino. Molto tranquilla,il solo rumore è quello della natura! La stanza molto pulita e grande,letto comodo,doccia con acqua calda. Il proprietario è estremante gentile e disponibile,ho noleggiato la bicicletta per visitare il sito archeologico che è vicino alla casa direttamente da lui,che mi è venuto a prendere alla fermata dell’autobus con la figlia. Ci ha inoltre portati a fare la camminata notturna e raccontato un po’ della vita in Sri Lanka. Cena e colazione molto buone e abbondanti cucinate dalla moglie. Veramente una bella sistemazione,economica e pulita. Loro estremante gentili,assolutamente consigliata!

Der Gastgeber spricht sehr gutes Englisch wodurch man mehr über das Land und die Kultur erfährt. Er ist sehr freundlich und offen. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und hat eine wunderschöne Terrasse mit reichlicher Artenvielfalt. Ein wahres Paradies! Das Essen war wirklich sensationell. Für uns das Beste was wir bisher auf der Reise hatten. Perfekter Ausgangspunkt um die Ruinen zu besichtigen!

Es war ein schöner Aufenthalt am nahe gelegenen Wald. Der Ancient Park war auch sehr nahe gelegen . Der Besitzer sehr freundlich und hat uns abends zu einem Spaziergang in den Wald begleitet. Einige Tiere gesehen. Als wir wieder weiter mussten und unser gebuchtes Taxi gecancelt wurde, hat uns der Besitzer spontan angeboten uns mit seinem Auto an die Ostküste zu fahren

Es ist eine einfache Unterkunft, aber sehr sauber.

Super ! Le dîner délicieux et Upali l’hôte nous a fait faire un tour le soir pour observer les animaux c’était magique.

Adoramos a nossa estadia com o Upali e a sua família! A localização é perfeita, mesmo junto a uma das saídas da cidade antiga pelo que podemos ver tudo com calma e depois voltar e sair na saída que fica a meio do percurso. O Upali foi buscar-nos à paragem de autocarro, sempre sorridente e com uma genuinidade e simpatia fora do comum. Sentimo-nos sempre bem vindos. Ajudou-nos em tudo o que precisávamos e explicou-nos tudo para chegarmos seguros ao próximo destino. Para além disso, a sua família cozinhou-nos um delicioso jantar e pequeno almoço típico do Sri Lanka (que recomendo vivamente!). O quarto era espaçoso e com água quente, com o essencial para uma estadia confortável. O jardim da casa é muito bonito e podem observar os animais e ouvir os sons da Natureza! Muito relaxante! Uma excelente opção de alojamento com um óptima relação preço- qualidade.

Preferia ter um lençol para cobrir em vez de manta mas é mesmo uma preferência pessoal, nada a criticar neste alojamento. Adoramos conhecer o Upali e ficaríamos aqui novamente sem hesitação

The hotel is perfectly located near the Sacred City in Polonnaruwa, making it an ideal base for exploring the ancient area. The hotel offers bicycle rentals, which is a great way to tour this historic site. The owner is fantastic and communicates very well in English, making the stay even more enjoyable. The room was large, spacious, and clean.

The only minus was the lack of furniture.
