B&B Nuwara eliya

Second time in this peaceful spot at the top of the hill. Clean, peaceful place. Going to the town is a 10 - 15 minute walk, downhill. And on the way back we always took a tuk tuk.

The toilet, it takes a while to dry after a shower, but not a big issue for us.

Nice clean and comfortable room on the edge of Nuwara Elya direct near the woods, that means you need always transport to get there, but easy to arrange by "pick me". Owner [mostly on the background] informative especially through whatsapp giving advice on restaurants for example.

A bit more personal contact would be appreciated

Spacious rooms. The shared living space is only between you and the other guest room which was very nice and private. It had a fridge to use and kettle. Hot showers and thick blankets! WiFi worked for most of the time!!

Bathroom floor gets very wet during a shower- but the squeegee provided works well!

Very comfy beds, good breakfast and good communication. Sahan even helped me solve a payment issue with previous guest house.

Les chambres sont grandes, confortables et très bien entretenues. Les espaces communs (salles à manger et balcon) sont très agréables. La vue est superbe. Un des meilleurs logements de mon voyage !

Sehr schön Unterkunft. Freundliche, hilfsbereite Familie. Morgens gab es leckeres traditionelles Frühstück im Wohnzimmer. Zehn Minuten Spaziergang in die sehr schöne kleine Stadt. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder. 😊🤩😍

Gemütliche und saubere Unterkunft mit wirklich sehr netten Gastgebern. Man kann wunderbar warm duschen und es gibt dicke Decken, die vor der Kälte der Nacht schützen. Da ich erst nach dem Checkout abreisen wollte, durfte ich bis zur Abreise meinen Rucksack im Vorraum parken. Zudem fand ich persönlich entspannt nicht in der Stadt direkt, sondern etwas ruhiger außerhalb zu schlafen (die Stadt ist zu Fuß dennoch schnell zu erreichen). Einen herzlichen Dank für die entspannte Nacht.

Tolle Wohnung - schön und modern eingerichtet. Der Gastgeber ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Hat uns tolle Tipps zum Abendessen gegeben. Das Frühstück war sehr lecker und reichlich. Es war insgesamt ein rundum gelungener Aufenthalt und wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir können die Unterkunft zu 100% empfehlen.

Coming from hot climate to cold & rainy weather was a bit of adjusting. Had to borrow a jacket from owner. Bed & 3 blankets kept me warm when it was raining. Nice to recharge energy. Was good to have a kettle to make cuppa teas. Price reasonable. Spectacular scenery in Nuwara Eliya glad i had a stop over here.

The location was high on mountain. Evan tho 11 minute walk down hill to city centre. A bit out of the way. Needs more signage on road & where tuk tuk stops. Sign on front wall at front but not visable from road.

Die Unterkunft hat uns von der Zugstation in Nanu Oya abgeholt und wir haben zur Begrüßung einen Willkommenstee mit Gebäck erhalten. Die Gastgeberin war super freundlich und hat uns Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt gegeben. Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohlgefühlt. Es waren auch genügend dicke Decken für die kälteren Nächte vorhanden.

Das Badezimmer war etwas unpraktisch aufgebaut, da nach dem Duschen das gesamte Badezimmer nass war. Aber es gab einen Duschabzieher womit es einigermaßen gut trocken gemacht werden konnte

Really lovely place not too far out of town. The blankets were so comfy and cosy and the owner was very friendly - even offered us tea on arrival. There is also a nice common area with a kettle and some nice sofas which is a nice addition.

You have to drain the shower manually or the bathroom will flood quite quickly but there is a tool to do this and the shower was lovely and warm so was not too bad

En general estaba limpio, pero las sabanas y el Colchón no. Son dos habitaciones que comparten un salón común y se oye todo, lo de la otra habitación y lo del salon.

Очень чисто и аккуратно, доброжелательный прием, хозяева по приезду напоили нас горячим чаем, так как мы промокли и замерзли))) было очень приятно.

.Een verzorgde B&B met een goed ontbijt, gerund door een vriendelijke man die je graag wegwijs maakt in de omgeving Voor een faire prijs regelt hij transfers, bijvoorbeeld naar Horton Plains National Park of het treinstation, (Nanu Oya) zodat je je reis naar Ella kunt voortzetten. Op loopafstand van de B&B ligt een restaurant waar je heerlijk kan eten. We moesten lang wachten voordat het eten op tafel stond, maar het was het absoluut waard. Houd er rekening mee dat je in de bergen zit, waar het vaak kouder en vochtiger is. Er zijn voldoende warme dekens aanwezig in de B&B.

Very clean and modern. Perfect hangout on a rainy day. Access to town is quick via steps and alleyways with stunning views. Would definitely stay again. One of the best properties I've stayed in in Sri Lanka. Host very friendly and helpful. Food provided is delicious.

The location is up a steep hill, so it's quite a workout to get here from the city centre.

The host was incredibly warm and welcoming. He organized a tour to Hortons Plains for us too. THe room was extremely cozy and warm, which was appreciated in the cold weather. We would definitely come back!

There's not a ton of food options near by, but if you're okay getting a Tuktuk or walking, this isn't an issue.

Very accomodating and clean B&B with 2 rooms only and a nice shared living room where you can drink a tea and relax or read a book. Very kind host and always ready to help. You simply ring the bell on the main door and he ll come as soon as possible to help you. Big and tasty pancakes for breakfast, with fresh fruit, honey, butter.. 100%reccomended

Liked the location as it seemed to be in the centre of Nuwara Eliya without it being too far away from all the other places of interest. Equally you could incorporate the places you want on your drive up there, if you drove. *** Be careful when driving there, google maps will direct you down the steep hill you come to before the BnB, don't go down the steep hill just before, carry on straight and it is on your right. The host shows you a shortcut into town if you are walking, this is the first left you come to after turning right out of the gate, it is on that very steep hill and it is a footpath on your left. You then turn left and then another left and you will be in Town, he recommends a restaurant called Dushans Home Kitchen for dinner, this was fantastic (if you want to drink alcohol, its dry so you can bring your own and he even gives you a glass to have it in). I am not sure if it is regular thing however when we went on our second night (Wednesday) for the second night in a row (it was that good) it wasn't open! :(. I loved the whole setup you have in the BnB, you have a lounge and a dining table in the 'reception' area that you share with another guest if it's full. It has a good selection of books and a kettle. On arrival the host brings you a nice cup of tea (black tea, no milk), with a couple of biscuits which I feel is a nice touch, considering we have not drunk tea properly since leaving our home in September. Haste to say it felt home. Other places we went was Damro Tea plantation, for a cup of tea and some cake (they only charge you for the cake,(450 rupee a piece), you can do the tours which are free with a almost expected tip at the end. Also went to the grand hotel cafe for breakfast (reasonably priced) and of course the post office which is a tourist hotspot.

The sink when draining leaked a little, so it seemed wet in the bathroom most of the time however this would not be enough to put me off my stay as it felt like I was home for a couple of days which was very much needed on a long travelling trip as even when getting my laundry back from them, it felt like my mum had ironed and laundered them for me, best laundry service in the month we are here so far.

The room was perfect for this solo traveler. 2 beds, 2 tables, drying rack. Hot water. Community room had dining table chairs, couches, coffee table other chairs, fridge which was awesome. Everything was as pictured on listing. The breakfast was huge and delicious - I asked for 2 pancakes, fruit and coffee. Hosts are very nice and helpful. Quick responses through messaging. After reading other reviews I was scared how cold it would get at night. I bought a jacket in town just in case. Never needed it. I slept in a T-shirt and my personal blanket and was toasty warm. The temperature went down to 14. I never opened the windows during the day and I showered in the morning, instead of at night, so I maybe that helped keep me warm. They did have super thick and comfy blankets on the bed. The place was quiet and such a great deal!

Beautiful small place with only 2 rooms, that share a nice sitting room with dinner table. Good breakfast, good price, a bit walking to town but setting is very quiet and serene. Friendly people.

Clean cozy rooms but bit far from city center

A lovely, very attentive family who were always on hand to help out when required. Lovely clean accommodation, which was based on two separate units and a shared living/dining area with fantastic views of the surrounding area and town below. Weather wasn't great the 1st night we stayed and they arranged for takeaway food to be delivered for us. Nothing not to like and great value for money 👍

Amazing host and such a clean beautiful room! Just 2 rooms so you feel very taken care of! The breakfast although an extra charge was so worth it! Very delicious pancakes! The location was very cozy and quiet, It was very clean, hot water, and the hosts were so friendly and helpful! They give you tea on arrival and are very attentive. It was one of our favourite stays.

One of the nicest homestays we have stayed at. There are two rooms with private bathrooms, and a shared lounge/balcony area, all of which are very clean and comfortable (cleanest place we have stayed!). Nice views over the town. Plenty of warm blankets to keep you warm! The staff are wonderful and the breakfast is plentiful and delicious (best pancakes ever).

It would have been nice for the shower to have had a bit more pressure/heat, given it’s a colder climate, but it was still doable!

The location was a short walk from the center of town. The host was very accommodating and the breakfast was great. The room was cosy with a nice view of the city.

The location was very difficult to find. We called the host more than half a dozen times to get the location....thankfully the driver was very experienced, spoke Singhalese and could find the place. It was the one place which did not have the final amount to pay. Not so much the tax but the commission was a big surprise. Paltry sum but that's not the point. I'm booking the place, paying for it so what is the commission for? Isn't it what the B&B should be paying Booking.com for facilitating customers?

Very good value for money and a great stay. The bed is comfy and it is Nice that there is a living room attached that you can use. The walk to the town is easy and a Nice way to get some excersise. Breakfast is delicious and plenty. Ons of our favorite stays in Sri Lanka.

The whole bathroom gets wet after a shower and takes a while to dry when its raining. Or doesnt dry at all. There is a mop!

This is a very special place and the best B&B I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka. Stunning, peaceful location, beautiful lounge and terrace, the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in, spotlessly clean and wonderful hosts who do anything to help. Breakfast was delicious too! I 100% recommend this tranquil place. I was due to stay for 7 nights but extended it to 11 nights.

The lounge area great. Room was good size. Lovely hot water for shower. Clean and quiet area.

When I was there it rained constantly and the rooms were cold. Other fellow travellers made the same comment. I had plenty of clothes on but still felt cold. It's at the top end of the hill, so it's quite a walk. There is a shortcut. Otherwise, it's a tuk tuk every time. The shower water doesn't run to floor waste very well, so you have to use a wiper to clear the floor of water for using the bathroom later as it's set up as a wet room.

This house and the room in which I’ve stayed are so cozy and very clean! Defined the best value for money of my entire Sri Lanka trip. The staff is so sweet, they came to pick me up at the train station and they also help me to organize a tour of the tea fields + waterfalls. Breakfast was the best I had in Sri Lanka. Unfortunately I only spent one night but I would have stayed longer.

The accommodation itself was great, but the town of Nuwara Eliya itself is actually quite underwhelming and overrated, in my opinion.

Very cozy place in quiet surroundings overlooking the city, but still n walking distance to the center. Very pleasant staff who helped arrange pickup from train station and we’re flexible with checkout and providing delicious breakfast.

The wifi was not the best in the sleeping room, but better in the living room.

Fantastic breakfast and very comfy bed. Great host, they also collected us and dropped us at the station (which is quite far away from the town).

Where can I start absolutely everything. Subodini is the perfect host and warm ,welcoming ,friendly, and so helpful. We chatted about many things the first night and also sorted out the best day hike with the neighbour. The Sri Lankan food cooked in the morning was fantastic.we also took dinner it was so good. The beds were warm , and the showers were great with hot water,just what was needed after our hike. The villa was pretty and inviting.. wonderful

Amazing experience. The rooms are beautiful and very clean. They have heaters in the bathroom, which are really helpful in this cold climate, the beds are cozy and comfortable. There is a lobby, a nice comfortable place for a hangout. We felt really comfortable. The staff are really sweet, and very friendly, really amazing people. I definitely recommend this place. Absolutely loved our stay in B&B Nuwara Eliya & cannot recommend enough! It's a 10 minute walk from the main town but I wouldn't let that put anyone off booking as it is such a peaceful place to stay with beautiful views from the little terrace. The host family are incredibly kind, caring & made us feel at home. Incredible value for money!

Very friendly family, Subodini is a great host .We had blankets as it was a large change in climate from Aragum bay. Nice lounge area to share and breakfast was really enjoyable. There is a shortcut down to the city centre which was great. A nice walkable town,and friendly locals..Room was very spacious and also hot showers. Very peaceful part of town with great views.

The B&B has a very clean private room. Common living room is very clean as well. Subodini and her family's hospitality is so good. they are humble and friendly. Very quiet environment with nice view on the top of the hill. Town is convenient a few minutes drive.

The parking slot is too tight. But it's not a big deal. the B&B family always supports us.

This trip is one of the best trips we have done so far from the trips we have planned.. The main reason for that is the beautiful, clean, and very nice and friendly staff we stayed in. Accommodation.. To be honest, there were few places around Sri Lanka where I experienced such a good service and such a vibe. This place also belongs to that list.. Actually, we spent those two or three days in this shelter with great freedom and safety as if we were at home. You get really good value here for the amount you pay... For the amount you pay, I don't think that you will find such facilities and customer service anywhere else in Nuwara Eliya.. And if we talk about the food here, they do a good job for the amount you pay.. We got the breakfast on the day we return home from here. . It tasted amazing.. Actually we got a American pan cake with honey jam..Actually , they gave it to us for free.. They happily came and served us on the day of our departure.. They did not charge any money for it.. This institution is run by a group that knows such high level of hospitality.. Also We will go and sing there. Enjoyed it very much... In conclusion, anyone can say without fear that this is the best place to stay in Nuwara Eliya.. I highly recommend this place to both foreigners and local tourists.. come without fear.. come and enjoy yourself.. Thank you very much B & B for giving us an unforgettable experience ❤.. We both hope that we can continue to make this company even better...❤

The hosts were so genuinely kind and caring. On the map it looks like it's far out of town but with the short cut it only takes 10 minutes to walk. I loved the fresh flowers, hearty breakfast and comfortable bed.

Superb helpful host. Very good for a family. There's a walking path to City 10 mins. They have an additional bed too. A living room is also available at no cost 😀. Gave us tea and shorteats too without asking FoC 😜
