Reviewed Sep 1, 2026Incredible location! Staff were so friendly and helpful, meeting us at the train station to help carry our bags up the stairs to the hotel. Hotel was very clean, well appointed. There's a terrace for guests to share, which has the most amazing view of coast.

Reviewed Aug 23, 2026Wow!! 🤩. Bel emplacement, très propre, lit super confortable. Douche avec un bon débit d’eau et eau chaude. Climatisation adéquate. Le seul hic est que le petit réfrigérateur n’était pas très froid. Bien situé mais il faut monter des marches pour s’y rendre mais c’est partout comme cela. Nous avons fait de belles randonnées entre les villages et les vues sont à couper le souffle. La passe de train permet de se promener entre les villages sans soucis. L’eau de la mer est bonne et revigorante. Nous avons adoré notre séjour et reviendrons certainement à nouveau.

Reviewed Aug 7, 2026Helt kort: Sødeste vært! Hentede os ved shuttle bus. Hjalp os med at bære bagage. Fortalte om byen på vej til værelset. Tydeligt han var lokal og kendte en masse smilende mennesker.
Der var absolut ikke noget negativt at sige om stedet. Det skulle da lige være, at der er ingen stole eller skamler i værelset, så man kan kun sidde på sengene. Et fact er, at der er mange! trapper op til værelset.

迷路のような階段を登った先にあるので、最初は迷いました。

Reviewed Jul 24, 2026La Mala is a clean and comfortable property with a wonderful communal terrace area that offers spectacular views. It’s in a very peaceful location yet just 2-3 minutes walk (via steep steps) from the bustling main street and harbour. The host, Gian, was very attentive and helpful.
Not a dislike but it would have been nice for the property to provide a basic croissant and coffee style breakfast on the terrace in the morning.

Reviewed May 27, 2026My wife, grandson and I were SO looking forward to our stay on April 10th and 11th. Quite unfortynately and devastatingly, on the trin from Florence to Vernazza thriough LaSpezia, my grndson was robbed. His backpack including his clothes, laptop computer and most significantly, his passprt and student VISA were stolen. We had to get off the train and report to the police in LaSpezia, go to Massa to look for the stolen items and then had to return to Florence to go to the police and Amnerican Embassy. We could not go to Vernazza and reported that immediately to the preople at LaMala. We requested the return of our prepaid rooms from them and from Booking.com. We received no satisfaction or refunds. PLEASE give us the money I paid on my Marriott Bonvoy VISA Credit card - $926 UD dollars! Thank you.

the walk up the all the stairs (which I guess should be expected in Cinque Terre) was a little more than we wanted to do. I felt that the room was a bit overpriced for the time of year.

The outdoor area is perfect for watching the sunset, and with only 4 rooms, it feels very private and peaceful. Highly recommend this hidden gem! Just a heads-up: it might not be ideal if you have mobility issues due to the stairs and terrain.

Travelling light and car free proved to work really well along the Cinque Terre coast. We sat out on the terrace most evenings till sunset returning in the morning to enjoy sunrise. Very relaxing!

However, the check-out time at 10 AM was quite early. Extending for just one more hour required an extra fee, which made having a relaxed breakfast—especially since the hotel doesn’t offer one—a bit stressful. A later check-out or a more flexible policy would have been appreciated. Overall, La Malà is a fantastic choice for those who value spectacular views and a prime location!

Locals in the shops complained about all the tourists. I understand italian perfectly, and it was a bit off-putting.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2024Service was wonderful. We got picked up at the train station and shown directly to our accommodation. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Location is quiet and extremely close to everything. I'm not sure if this is offered all the time, but since La Mala is part of the sustainable program of the Cinque Terre National Park, they gave us an incredible discount on the Cinque Terre Card that included unlimited train travel. I would stay here again!
There was no curtain or blinds to cover the small window. The accommodation is up many stairs - this wasn't an issue for my partner and I, and they offer to bring your luggage if you are unable to but just want to flag this for those with mobility issues.
