La colazione non c'era , neanche a pagamento e tanto meno il ristorante , neanche l'acqua in bottiglia si poteva acquistare , l'acqua del rubinetto non è potabile a Port Antonio . La posizione è nel mezzo del nulla , su una strada a percorrenza veloce senza marciapiede .

Le informazioni sulla posizione e sul ristorante non sono corette nella pagina . A disposizione degli ospiti ci sono : un bollitore , due cucchiai , due forchette , due piatti plastica , qualche tazzina e piattino piccoli , che alla fine ti devi lavare nel bagno col sapone delle mani . Ho avuto dei problemi col gatto residente poiché mia nipote è allergica al pelo del gatto , dei problemi gravi di stomaco nella notte dopo aver bevuto una tisana dolcificata con zucchero gentilmente offerto dalla signora , ma contaminato con alcuni insetti , e soprattutto ho avuto dei problemi col il gestore della struttura , con cui ho parlato via whatsapp , che in seguito alle mie comunicazioni riguardo alle problematiche esposte , mi ha risposto in maniera arrogante , verbalmente aggressiva ed umiliante , nonostante mi trovassi in uno stato di salute piuttosto precario . A conferma delle mie impressioni sulla persona in questione potete leggere le sue risposte agli ospiti che hanno osato fare delle critiche alla struttura . Alla persona in questione dirò che potrá scrivere qualsiasi cosa in risposta alla mia recensione , che io in ogni caso non leggerò poiché non voglio avere più nulla a che fare con un indivuduo simile . Sono rimasta nella struttura per una pura questione economica , l'offerta di rimborso proposta dalla persona in questione era di due giorni su cinque che erano rimasti e con il vincolo che ce ne andassimo il giorno stesso ! Non l'ho accettata , ce ne siamo andate un giorno prima , e non saremmo rimaste neppure un minuto se la persona in questione fosse stata presente , fortunatamente la signora presente , la moglie dell'individuo , è una persona molto gentile e collaborativa .

Great price, nice place, nice hosts!

The actual location is not the same as on booking, on Google maps it’s correct. There is a 15 min walk to the beach, or catch a route taxi (less frequent than down at Boston beach but still very doable).

This is a very chill location, the ambiance is relaxing and dinner was great.Althea is very knowledgeable of the area. Amazing view of the ocean and close to the town. The sign made it easy to find.

Værtsparret var særdeles venlige og imødekommende. Vi tilkøbte deres morgenmad alle dage og fik en virkelig god morgenmadstallerken incl. den lækreste havregrød. Fin udsigt over havet. Gåafstand til Boston Beach, men vejen er ikke så egnet til gående.

La habitación estaba muy limpia y la dueña fue encantadora con nosotros. Nos ayudó y nos informó en todo lo que necesitábamos. Muy buena calidad precio. El desayuno está muy bien.

Hay que tener en cuenta que se comparte las zonas comunes con el matrimonio que vive en la casa, sobre todo el marido que pasa mucho tiempo en el salón (que está pegado a las habitaciones) hasta tarde. Los baños necesitarían una pequeña actualización.

I love this guesthouse. You can sit and watch the ocean and feel the breeze. Love that its Mary Jane friendly, even in the room and that was my favorite part. Felt welcomed on my arrival and throughout my stay

Even though I was advised of an issue with the toilet and that it was fixed, I still had some issues and had to turn off the pipe below ao couldn't use the bath room during the night. But other than that everything was great.

Alfio and Althea are genuine, easygoing people who were attentive to anything we needed. It's hard not to live life at a slow pace whilst staying here! Boots - the guard cat of the house - is a great example of this. He was always chilling either on the garden chair or on the porch ready to welcome us. Great breakfast with generous portion sizes. We took a plant-based option wish was fresh oranges, hearty porridge, delicious Italian seasoned fritter-type things, salad and cake. Me and my partner stayed in the en-suite room - the vibrant decor, and creative touches gave us the most authentic 'at-home' feel out of all the places we stayed in Jamaica. I'm a selector and played at the Sunday vinyl party (a must go), which Alfio kindly took us to. He sold me some great records at a reasonable price and I enjoyed all our conversations (and joints) we shared. I won't forget the peaceful last few moments of sunny, silent reflection we shared together in the garden as we were about to leave - with Alfio playing meditation music in the background - we left full of gratitude, on a high vibration with a special memory! Big up A&A. Would totally recommend Toga to anyone on a budget, looking to truly immerse themselves in the natural paradise that is Portland :)

Could do with a reading light/lamp in the bedroom. The house has a lovely old charm to it, but our bathtub could have done with a deep clean/re-paint.

Schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Der Preis ist sehr günstig. Man kann fantastisches Frühstück dazu buchen und es gibt sogar eine Auswahl an leckeren Gerichten fürs Abendessen, dass man auf Wunsch bestellen kann.

The owners were friendly and helpful and provided us with everything we needed. The location is beautiful. It's a basic guest house with basic facilities. The host picked us up (for a fee) from the bus station in the evening which was very helpful. There was a common area and (Italian) food was available.

Great location. We had a hire car so it made life much easier travelling around jamacia - lots of beautiful spots in a short vicinity. Owners were lovely, good chat and great resource making suggestions. Felt homely.

The location was easy to find, and is centrally located close to several beaches, rivers and the famous Boston Jerk Center. The sea view from the veranda was very calming. The quietness of the neighborhood was exactly what my family and I needed. We got a true chance to bond and rejuvenate. The venue was clean and tidy, the rooms were spacious making TOGA an ideal place for a family or couples retreat. Our visits to Winifred Beach which was great, my family visited twice during our stay. There was also a space to park our vehicle on the property which was a plus. Our host Althea and Alfio were very nice and made our stay comfortable. I would definitely visit again.

I wished a working television was in the sitting room to further enhance our family bonding experience while on the property during our down time. However, this was not a major deal breaker as WiFi access was on the premises and worked very well.

Clean room, peaceful vibes and they have the chillest cat named Boots. Althea is lovely and I enjoyed insightful conversations.

It was exceptionally clean, comfortable beds. Hosts great people, and they made amazing breakfast - the best one we've had in Jamaica. Althea's peanut porridge was 10+.Great location, very close to local beaches.

There was nothing to not like

Althea and Alfio were superb hosts. Lovely original character bungalow home (maybe 1950s) and we were lucky enough to have the double ensuite - beautiful view through both bedroom windows while drinking first coffee in bed. Alfio was an excellent cook and catered for my wife’s gluten-free diet on the two occasions we ate at the house. Highlights of our stay was watching Alfio DJ at the Vinyl Club’s ‘Vinyl Sunday’ night (highly recommended), dancing in the street, and of course our morning chats on the veranda with Althea (highly recommended also). We stayed in February 2025.

The hospitality of the owners Alfio and Altea, the delicious breakfasts that Alfio prepared for us every morning - big portions and varied food, he's a professional chef! - and fish, the relaxed atmosphere, beautiful rooms, and veranda. And the beautiful Boston Beach that you reach by a 10 minute walk.

Alfio and Althea have a great place in the heart of Portland. A walkable distance to Boston beach and places near it. Alfio himself is a great guy with a lot of travel experience, which shows in his incredible hospitality. And thanks Althea for sharing your herbal tea! Boots, the cat is one of the laziest day-time sleepers you'll ever meet :D Great internet connection and perfect if you're remote working, I would recommend to book long stays here! And then the highlight of staying here - the food! Alfio has magic in his hands! Some incredible Italian food with a touch of island fusion here and there! I kept coming back for food even after moving to other places :D Thanks for everything, Alfio! See you again!

Be prepared for the mosquitoes in Portland and get a bug spray, but they have it covered with mosquito nets on the beds! 😉

The guest house is located in close proximity to a few great spots. Highly recommend the Blue Lagoon! The room we booked was spacious and clean. It's hard to keep the bugs out, but they do provide a mosquito net. Alfio and Althea are welcoming and helpful hosts. Fantastic breakfast!

This was a great option for our budget. It would have been fantastic to have access to a kitchenette, but we knew that since the guest house offers meals, it wasn't possible, which is understandable.

I’ve had a very pleasant stay with Elthie and Alfi. They are nice friendly people. The room was clean and spacious, the location good, close to Boston Beach. I’ve enjoyed morning conversations with Elthie on the Veranda with a nice view. Stayed longer than the night I’ve booked. Recommended!

Rustic, clean and comfortable. Excellent professional hosts. Alfio, is a first class chef and his meals are spectacular. So much so that I didn’t want to eat anywhere else. Presentation was out of this world. Alfio , I hope I got the name right is Italian and is Chicken Alfredo is divine. Breakfast are fabulous. His beautiful Jamaican wife Althea cooks beautiful ackee and is a craft woman in her own right make lovely crochet outfits

It’s hard to find if you don’t have a sat nab, it’s dark and raining because the sign is down. So a new preferably light reflecting sign would do the trick. Apart from that nothing else is needed.

The bed was comfy, and the view of the sea was amazing it was quiet and peaceful. The owners were friendly, and the room was spacious Free WiFi

The lady who owns the guest house was incredibly nice and helpful. There seems to have been some miscommunication regarding our arrival but she got us what we needed immediately. She also recommended us a tour guide to visit Reach Falls which was an incredible experience.

It was very hot - there was no air conditioning just one fan. The lady also didn't seem to know that we were arriving. We couldn't find the hotel for a while as we arrived in the dark and it wasn't easy to find, so I tried to ring the property but no one answered. Also since we were the only guests, and the lady didn't know we were coming the gates were closed which made it even more difficult to find it. Once we arrived the room wasn't really prepared. There was no hand soap or toilet paper. The beach wasn't very close too. It was a 15min walk along a very narrow street with no footpaths, or you could drive. There was not many places to eat in the area so it was hard to find food.

Host wasn’t prepared for me so didn’t let me stay in the room. So not able to say what I liked.

The food is amazing a cooked by a real Italian chef,the food is top class at great price to taste some real good quality food the chicken burgers are amazing and the carbonara is so delicious. There was nothing not to like 😁alfio andAlthea are really nice genuine people, very welcoming with a nice energy, can’t complain about nothing ,they treated my son like there own was very refreshing to see as my son doesn’t go around people and he was very comfortable and happy to stay there .

Alfio called to confirm the booking and to make sure everything was fine on getting to the property. Once there, all our needs were met. Great hospitality from the start.. disappointed we were only staying one night and didn’t get to try the food. Great location, will def come to stay again!

Althia was a great host and she made us feel welcome like if we were at home. Coffee and tea in the morning and also great tips about the area. The house is well located and very close to boston beach (10min walk) and not far from others amazing beaches. Restaurants and bar close to the guest house and possibility to store your food in the sharing fridge. Clean and comfy room with all you need. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a stay in Portland but out of the crazy traffic of Porto Antonio. Grazie Althia 😘

Perfect and delicious breakfast.

The room was massive, and cool, bed huge, great location for 1 nights stay.

We weren't told about the facilities. The owner was more interested in watching wresling videos it seemed that telling us about the facilities. The door to the room literally opened up into the reception area.

Best price value in Jamaica. Best breakfast in the Carribean. Completely exceeded my expectations. If you're in the area this is your place to go.

The Booking.com site sent us to the wrong place and we had to ask directions.

Alfio is a lovely host, and a great chef; the breakfast and dinner he cooked for me were both excellent. The place is nice and quiet, apart from the neighbours' Saturday night party, and the room was very comfortable.

There are a lot of mosquitoes around, as the house is in a rural location, so not the fault of the owner, just unlucky for me. It's a long way from town, so it's not ideal, unless you pick up supplies before arriving.

Alfio was really helpful and kind ! He got us a local private tour to the reach falls, beautiful experience. His food was authentic Italian . Recommend

Only 150-200 cost to take route taxi from Port Antonio to this guesthouse. Owners live on property so they manage it well. Rooms are basic but comfortable for the great price. Excellent base to explore area. A portable fan helped keep room cool. Shared bathroom was clean and spacious. The highlight was the Italian owner is a trained chef so he offers a hearty, amazing breakfast and/or dinner for 1500-2000. Seriously his cooking is like fine dining quality so worth the price when you want a break for Jamaica jerk chicken fare. His food was the best I ate in Jamaica!

For the price, there's nothing to complain about. Keep in mind there's no aircon but portable fan.

Wow what a nice place for such a reasonable price! Quiet and great view of the ocean. The food offered by our host (which is actually a chef) was super good. We actually had diner and breakfast there and everything was behond expectation. We will go back without hesitation. Thanks again!

Absolute gem of a guesthouse in a great remote part of Jamaica! The rooms are big and spacious and a steal for the price. Definitely let Alfie cook for you, he's been a professional cook and makes amazing meals (the breakfast might indeed be Jamaica's best ;) We really loved our stay, thanks to Alfie and Althea for your hospitality!

Everything was great

The owner was very friendly, the room was big with an enormous and confortable bed. Very close to the beach and walkable distance to some restaurant.

Close to Boston beach

The place is HORRIBLE!!! They need to fix up the place. There are no insect screens. You'll be eaten alive by mosquitos. There are lizards, spiders, bugs and at least 3 different types of ants all over the bedrooms. I had booked 3 nights and upon arrival, I booked another place in Port Antonio for the next day. I didn't even want to stay the night. I was apprehensive in using the bathroom. No toiletries are provided except toilet paper. The window in the bathroom is broken out. That night, I was asked to wait a half hour or so to shower as there was an issue with the pump. Good thing I ended up going to sleep. In the morning, apology was made for the lack of water and told they had to call an electrician to fix the issue. You are not allowed to use kitchen facilities as the husband cooks food for guests' purchase. Except, he was sick and unable to cook and guests were not allowed to use kitchen. During the night, the fan in the room fell apart and started making a loud noise which woke me up. The saving grace was Boston beach which I quite enjoyed. On my return from the beach, I told host that I was leaving, he blurted out, "this is the Jamaican jungle, what did you expect". I guess if I visit an African Safari, then I should expect a lion coming into my room and be okay with it. I hope I save someone the bad experience and waste of money and time out of your vacation in Jamaica by going there. The place is a dump.

Both hosts are really nice and provided some extra service free of charge. It feels like a Homestay because basically it is. Transport to and from the property is very easy.

The colours of the room were stunning. The hosts were lovely. They invited us to the party they were going to have down the road, unfortunately we were too tired to make it out. Lovely stay.

The floor felt soft/flexible in places. I know it's sturdy and fine and my significant other laughed at me, but my anxiety worried about going through it.

The bed is really comfortable and the view is incredible. The place is in a great location, easily walkable to the beach and lots of good restaurants and bars but far enough down the road that it's peaceful when that's what you want. The hosts were friendly and helpful, they put me on to a lot of experiences and places I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

I really can't say anything negative. This was a great place to stay, especially for solo travelers

Toga is a welcoming guest house in a nice location next to Boston Bay, handy for Reach Falls, Port Antonio and some of Jamaica's loveliest beaches. There was a good included breakfast and the option to have evening meals. Alfio (the friendly Italian owner) is also a DJ and on Sunday evenings hosts a vinyl reggae revival sound system locally at nearby Drapers. This is well worth going to. We enjoyed our stay and considered it to be a good value option.

When we stayed there were some problems with the washbasin taps / water supply but this was a minor issue.

Property is well taken care. Clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was delicious. Alfio and Althea were great hosts!
