Era Holiday House

Hatten hier das sauberste Zimmer während unserer Reise in Sri Lanka. Die Besitzer waren sehr herzlich und wir wurden wärmstens umsorgt! Das Frühstück war wirklich lecker und mehr als ausreichend - mit frischem Obst und frisch zubereiteten traditionellen Speisen, wovon wir auch noch Nachschub hätten haben können. Es liegt zentral und man ist schnell beim Strand bzw auch im Geschehen. Und doch ist es abends sehr ruhig. Sollten wir nochmals nach Mirissa kommen, werden wir wieder in dieser Unterkunft übernachten!

La struttura era meravigliosa, pulita e confortevole. Il personale e stato gentilissimo, la proprietaria una persona meravigliosa e premurosa nei nostri confronti. Abbiamo fatto solo una notte e anche il ragazzo che ci ha servito la colazione e stato gentilissimo e disponibile.

住宿老闆和老闆娘就像對待自己家人一樣對待我跟我朋友，早餐吃不夠還可以再增加，水喝不夠還可以再要，連中暑也有提供藥，讓我感覺非常溫馨，非常像回到自己家中，當然房間非常乾淨舒適，如果再來一次Mirissa，我仍會挑選這裡。

We felt completely at home here! The hosts are incredibly nice and generous people who truly care about their guests. As a lovely surprise, they even gave my wife and me a thoughtful parting gift at the end of our stay. The food was delicious with very generous portions, and the entire place was spotlessly clean. We couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Emplacement exceptionnel, grande chambre ave. Très grand lit et literie de qualité. Balcon, climaseur et salle de bain privée Logement très propre et bien équipée. Étendoir, porte valise, penderie, coffre fort, bouilloire, tasses, café et thé, frigo et congélateur. + produit de soin: gel douche, shampoing, dentifrice. L'emplacement de ce logement est parfait pour rayonner sur Mirissa à pied ou un tuk tuk. La famille vit au rez-de-chaussée et vous avez un acces privé à votre chambre au 1 er etage avec balcon privé et terrasse partagée. Le couple est adorable, tres souriant, disponible et prêt à rendre service. Le petit déjeuner est exceptionnel ! Venez les yeux fermés ils sont au petit soin !

Ну что сказать. Мы были в 5 отелях на Шри-Ланке. Этот несомненно лучше всех!!! Современный, чистейший. Это единственный отель, где нам сначала показали номер, а потом уж мы заплатили за него. Хозяева принесли полотенца морозовые и сказала отдыхайте заплатите позже))) Расположен на тихой улочке, но до пляжа минут 5. Все кто пишут о замечательных завтраках не обманывают. Это церемония, в которой хозяин Эра вас удивит домашней Шри-Ланкийской едой. Хозяйка приготовила нам ужин и на прощание подарила браслетики. Это было очень приятно. Процветания вашему дому и спасибо за гостеприимство.

Die Gastgeber waren super sympathisch, hilfsbereit und kommunikativ, es war eine Freude, bei ihnen zu wohnen :) Auch das Frühstück war absolut fantastisch, riesige Auswahl, alles frisch und so lecker wie sonst in keiner anderen Unterkunft in Sri Lanka. Sehr große Empfehlung!! (Es war nur etwas zu viel für ein Frühstück, aber wir haben uns dann ein paar Sachen als Snack mitgenommen :)) Das Zimmer war groß, sauber, mit schönem Bad und Balkon, auch wenn wir den selten genutzt haben. Check In und Check Out liefen problemlos und wir konnten uns auch mit Fragen zur Umgebung/Transport an die Gastgeber wenden. Die Lage in Mirissa war auch gut, nicht zu nah an der Hauptstraße, also schön ruhig. Wir würden definitiv wieder dort buchen!

Es hätte noch kleine Lampen neben dem Bett geben können (wahrscheinlich kommen die noch, so sah es zumindest aus), aber das ist eine Kleinigkeit im Vergleich zu den ganzen positiven Dingen!

The most lovely and generous hosts, who went above and beyond - we needed to check out super early and they made sure breakfast was ready for us before we left, we got a handmade bracelet each on leaving as a gift, and the breakfast was incredible! This place is perfectly located 5-10 min walk from the beach and from the main beach bars.

We were happy with absolutely everything! The hosts were lovely and gave us cold bottles of water upon arrival and when we were checking out. The breakfast was the biggest and tastiest we had during our trip. The room looked basic but had everything we needed. The ac was working perfectly so we had a good night’s sleep in a cool room. The location is great, very close to the beach. The parking space is limited but the hosts made sure we had a place to park.

Imádtuk!!! Mindent!!! 7 szállásunk volt összesen Sri Lankan, de ez volt a legjobb!!! A strand kb 5 perc gyalog, és maga az apartman és a szállásadók pedig fantasztikusak! Az a vendégszeretet, amit kaptunk a 4 nap alatt, messze felülmúlta elképzeléseinket. A szoba rendkívül tiszta, nagyon kényelmes az ágy és szuper a klíma. Mi a felső szinten voltunk elszállásolva, ahol 2 apartman található, melyek egy közös konyhából nyílnak. Nagyon tetszett!! :) A reggeli pedig fenomenális!! Isteni finom minden! 💛💛💛 Nagyon bőséges volt és folyton kérdezgették, hogy szeretnénk e még valamit. Valamint minden étkezéssel kapcsolatos igényünket is figyelembe vették. Mosási lehetőség is van, távozáskor pedig egy gyönyörű karkötőt kaptam ajándékba! 🥰💚🙏🏻 Jó szívvel ajánlom mindenkinek ezt a szállás helyet, egy szóval tényleg tökéletes! ❤️

There is a 3 storey building in construction right next door - unfortunate for the hosts, as they have no control over it! There was some hammering / banging but no big machinery noise.

Era Holiday House is where you have to stay in Mirissa. The proximity to the beach is perfect, the breakfasts are so plentiful we were full for majority of the day. The hosts are so giving and you truly feel at home. The beds are comfortable and they give you a little gift when you leave. We are sad to be leaving and will definitely be back! They provide beach towels as well!

The most lovely family will host you at this property! The rooms are absolutely spotless with excellent AC & a balcony. Perfectly located less than 5 minutes walk to Mirissa beach. The breakfast is absolutely sensational - the best cooking we have had in Sri Lanka. The family go above & beyond to make you feeling comfortable and welcome. Allein das herzliche Paar das diese Unterkunft führt, machte unseren Aufenthalt unvergesslich. 5 min zum Strand, 3 min in den Kern zum laufen. Frühstück genial und liebevoll zubereitet.

Le meilleur hostel que nous ayons fréquenté. Excellent rapport qualité/prix. Situé au calme, les chambres sont spacieuses, très bien équipées et propres. Et surtout la famille est gentille, accueillante et attentionnée. Le petit déjeuner est très bon et copieux. Nous avons adoré notre séjour et recommandons cet endroit à 200%.

Que dire? Notre meilleur logement au Sri Lanka!!!!! Tout d'abord les propriétaires : ils sont très très gentils. Vous pouvez tout leur demander, des transferts pour vos différentes destinations, des excursions... et ce à des prix plus intéressants qu'avec PickMe. Ils sont très souriants, très travailleurs, ils font ce qu'ils peuvent pour vous rendre service. Ne parlons pas du petit déjeuner : gargantuesque!!!! Nous ne pouvions pas tout manger tellement c'était copieux. Le propriétaire nous proposait d'emporter ce que nous mangions pas dans notre chambre car nous avions un refrigerateur. Le logement était d'une propreté exemplaire (le plus propre que nous ayons eu au Sri Lanka), un très grand lit, une grande salle de bain(dentifrice et shampoing à disposition). Pas de problème d'eau chaude. Un coffre fort et un balcon pour faire sécher les affaires de plage et bien-sûr la climatisation. Ils proposent même de vous louer un scooter en très bon état à un prix moins cher que le loueur très bien noté à Mirissa. J'oubliais que c'était au calme, situé entre la plage (à peine 3-5min) et la rue hyper bruyante qui traverse Mirissa. On vous propose également des serviettes de plage.

Our room was located on the top floor with a furnished balcony with early morning sun and welcome afternoon shade. The room was spotless, spacious, extremely quiet, with solid doors and windows providing the best soundproofing of our five week stay, with strong WiFi. Equipped with a large fridge freezer, and quiet, new air-conditioning we were very comfortable and slept well. The annexe outside our room boasted a sink, kettle, cutlery and crockery and is shared with just one other room. Our hosts and their family were genuine, friendly, helpful and dedicated to offering a level of hospitality warranting ten stars. Breakfast was delicious, nutritious, fresh and varied....the best of our holiday. Homemade rotis, omelettes, hoppers, coconut pancakes, Dahl, and a large fresh fruit platter each, with yoghurt.....and anything you wished to change was never a problem. Large, small and beach towels were provided and our bed linen was changed after only a couple of days. Thank you for the lift to the bus stop and for making this stay a highlight of our Sri Lanka holiday! With a five minute walk to beach, shops, restaurants and supermarket this accommodation is a perfect, central base for anyone wishing to explore Mirissa....and only five mins walk from the main bus stop with buses to Colombo , Matara, Weligama and Tangalle all passing regularly.

The owners made us to feel that we are at home. Loved the homestay. And the breakfast was awsome. The beach is just 4/5 minutes from the homestay. Worth the money.

There’s is nothing I can say that will truly reflect how lovely this stay was, from the breakfast that was absolutely amazing (and yes, a loooot of food but if you are in Sri Lanka you must eat, specially delicious food), to the small things like asking if we wanted beach towels, providing us with bottled water, asking us if we needed anything or what we wanted to eat on the next day. They also arranged our drive from Colombo to mirissa and then to Udawalawe. If you are staying in Mirissa, look no further.

I arrived after a Yala Safari in the late afternoon, the room was super clean, the bed large and very comfortable with mosquito net, the bathroom large with sufficient water pressure. There is air conditioning. I was welcomed in an incredibly friendly manner and as I had a severe headache I was brought paracetamol immediately. As the whale season is over, I only planned to stay one night. The hosts are generally incredibly friendly. The Holiday House is only about 100 meters from the beach, where there are also many restaurants! I had already ordered the breakfast as a small breakfast due to the many reviews, but I still had enough food left for the rest of the day! It was even packed for me - thank you so much for that. Many thanks to my lovely hosts ♥️ I will be back 😊

On arrival we were greeted with a frozen face towel, which was much needed in the April heat. The couple who own this are very friendly and accomodating, allowing us to check-in early. The property is a 5min walk to the beach, but is on a quiet road with no traffic noise. The a/c worked very well and the shower was hot with good pressure. The owners keep the place immaculate. Wifi worked well. We didn't get an opportunity to try the breakfast as we went on a whale watching tour, but I hear that it is exceptional.

The stay was fantastic- really friendly and welcoming hosts. The room benefitted from a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and an en-suite. The location was great…a 5 minute walk to the beach and a couple of minutes walk to the main road/ restaurants and shops. The breakfast was the best and most authentic Sri Lankan food we’ve had during our Sri Lankan travels- this is served on the communal balcony. We left happy and very full! Would definitely return!

Super friendly family and a lovely breakfast

Our 2 hosts were so welcoming and friendly! The location was amazing, being right next to the beach. Rooms came with amazing mosquito nets, hairdryers and the traditional breakfasts were simply incredible.

We loved everything about this homestay, especially the owners. They are so kind and friendly and really know how to run a homestay! Our room was outstanding, a large poster bed, big bathroom and it even had a small fridge to keep our drinks cold. Hot water and wifi worked great. We also had a balcony but only used that once during bad weather. The breakfast quality and quantity is excellent...so much variety with delicious fresh fruit to finish with. The homestay is just a 5-10 minute walk to the beach but far enough away to not hear the beach party noise. They also helped us with a taxi from Mirissa directly to the airport. If you are lucky enough to find this homestay not sold out I highly recommend you stay here...you won't regret it!

Very nice, clean room. Very good air conditioning, hot shower, and WiFi. The hosts went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. The room had a large refrigerator and the bathroom was supplied with high quality soap, shampoo, and toothpaste. The breakfast was outstanding. Different Sri Lanka dishes each of our two mornings. Different dishes and fruits than we have had at other guesthouses. Highly recommended!

Location is just in the center of Mirissa but still you are 100 meter away from mainroad so this place is calm and quiet. Hotel staff SUPER helpfull and friendly. You can have good tips for things to do or places to go. Room is spottless clean. Breakfast varies and it is huge and many different dishes to taste. Super.

We know that Sri Lanka has high level hospitality standards, we stayed in 6 different locations during our Sri Lanka trip BUT Nirosha and Era were by far our favourite stay. We don’t give out excellent reviews easily but the hosts at Era Holiday House deserve a 11 out of 10! Everything was just so good, we don’t even know where to start: - clean and well designed rooms with private balcony - amazing bathroom with great water pressure and water temperature as you would like to have it! Free shampoo, soap and even toothpaste, and all of good quality. - Extremely comfortable bed. - excellent Wi-Fi quality and A/C - Breakfast? Where should I start? My Malaysian born husband only likes top quality and he found it here! Nirosha is an amazing cook and food was so plentiful. - the home is in a great location within walking distance to the amazing Mirissa Beach and also to the Main Street where there are more restaurants, supermarkets and all kinds of other shops. - the hosts were extremely helpful with arranging our taxi to Negombo at a great price with a lovely driver. But at the end, it was all about Nirosha, Era and his brother. My husband said he would come back to Sri Lanka just to see them again. This place is a national treasure! Anja and Noor

The host are exceptionally great, from the moment I did booked the room we already started communicating via WhatsApp so they arranged transfer from the airport to their accommodation and from their accommodation to Safari tour and Ella. They also gave us great recommendations for massage and restaurants. The breakfast is the best thing, many options, fresh and super delicious and yes it’s a huge breakfast we almost never been able to finish it all. They also can drive you with their tuktuk for a good price to the nearest towns or beaches. Don’t leave anything on the balcony, the monkeys are stilling 😂 Overall an amazing stay and amazing hosts Thank you! 🙏

A gem of a place! We were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality from the moment we arrived for our 6 night stay. The delicious and large breakfasts on the deck were the best in Sri Lanka - everything home made. Close to the beach and restaurants and a very quiet neighborhood. Kind and helpful hosts . Everything was good

We stayed at Era Holiday House for six nights after having travelled Sri Lanka for almost three weeks. The home stay is located in a quiet local neighborhood while being just a 3 mins walk from the beach and the main road with cafes and restaurants. The rooms are spotless and spacious while offering everything you need. Our room was even cleansed again + bed sheets and towels changed halfway through our stay. Nirosha and Erantha are the most affectionate and generous hosts. They provide an incredibly rich breakfast which offers enough food for the whole day. On our last morning, they asked us to put together all of our favorite pieces and prepared it according to our wishes. Erantha arranged the breakfast table with such perfection, it was a true inspiration. Nirosha also organized our transport to Colombo airport by taxi. It was such a pleasure to stay at Era Holiday House. We could not have wished for a better ending of our vacation. Thank you so much!! :)

We were traveling all around Sri Lanka, and this was definitely the best accommodation. The owner is the kindest person we met on the island, she really tries to make you feel comfortable. The room and bathroom are super clean and well maintained, we had everything we needed. The breakfast is huge and extra delicious, with different varieties and fresh ingredients every day - the best Sri Lankan breakfast we had. At the end of our stay, his husband drove us to Unawatuna with his tuk tuk for a very good price. Everything was just perfect, 100% recommended. 😊

The reviews are ABSOLUTELY true! This was the best stay during our time in Sri Lanka! The hosts are extremely kind, helpful in every way, and did everything to made sure we would feel comfortable and happy - we really did! Besides the comfortable room, with spacious bathroom and nice air conditioning, the homemade breakfast every morning was just amazing - delicious, fresh, every day something new, and more than enough to go on the whole day. They even made some custom requests which we loved! A big thank you to the family for making our stay so nice! We’d definitely book here again :)

The place is located about 5 min. walk to Mirissa beach. Very clean and big enough room with spacious bathroom and balcony. Lots of very hot water in the bathroom that never ends. Very rich breakfast with local foods, fruits and coffee or tea. Our room was same as it was on the booking.com pictures. These were the kindest hosts we met in Sri Lanka. They made us feel at home. They helped us with everything we needed. Starting from excursions at a good price, to providing us with transportation to the station on the last day. If I visit Mirissa again, I would stay there with pleasure.

This was not a problem for us but it is good to know. There is a small cemetery next to the property fence. The rooms are on the second floor and there is no elevator, but hosts will help with luggage.

Nicest hosts, delicious (and huge) breakfasts, clean room. Important for the region: stable and fast wifi, hot water with good stream, power sockets, fridge and kettle were actually working!

Nice location, nice room on the first floor, a bit dark but comfortable room with large bedroom. The host was very nice and helpful. We were able to get breakfast earlier than usual (8am the first morning and 06:45am the second morning, as we had to leave very early for our next destination). Breakfast is huge! The guesthouse is located close to the center, but actually in a quiet area and at walking distance to the beach.

The first night a dog was barking almost continuously. The host told me it's because of people walking around (at night?) or the full moon... full moon was one week earlier though. Second night was better so I guess the host told the dog owner to keep it inside :D Breakfast times are from 08:30 until 10:30, which is a little late for me as I need to take a lot of medication early morning (with food). Also, breakfast is far too much, I would've liked a lighter breakfast much better! (either Sri Lankan, or European, but not both at the same time).

We loved staying at Era! Such a lovely family who welcome you with open arms and make sure that you have a great stay. They make fresh Sri Lankan breakfast every morning which one of the best we’ve had during our entire trip!! Also a lovely room with everything you need, Incl AC hot water and a fridge which is quite handy. It is just a 3 minute walk to the beach and a 3 minute walk to the Main Street with shops and everything. Would strongly recommend anyone to stay here. Thank you 🙏🏻

This place lives up to the reviews and is the best home stay we stayed in so far in Sri Lanka. Upon arrival the host greeted us with frozen towels to cool down. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom and bed linen. Good air conditioning in the room. Shower was hot! The location is great, a quick walk down to the beach and local restaurants. The breakfast was huge and delicious and the hosts also helped us move our tuk tuk and treated us to cool refreshments upon check out. Honestly the best place we have stayed so far!!

Era Holiday House is amazing! The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the bed is comfortable. The hosts are extremely kind, helpful, and generous. The breakfast is huge and delicious - you can keep the leftovers in the fridge in the room and it is more than enough for lunch as well. The beach and many good restaurants are within a short walk from the accomodation. Highly recommend and would happily stay again!

Very good location, quiet but still close to everything. Nice clean room with balcony. Parking for our TukTuk. Amazing breakfast (it’s a lot but it’s also very good). Very friendly hosts. Great stay.

We did not have a hot shower, but maybe that was temporary.

The hosts are very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast is wonderfull, each day different. How many different things, it is amazing. 5 min walk to the beach.

The location was good, easy walking distance to the beach. Best part were the amazing breakfasts. So much food. It became the main meal of the day. We had a fridge in the room so leftovers served for lunch as well.
