Location is wonderful, and secluded
Shower water isn't warm all the times
A peaceful, intimate retreat nestled in breathtaking natural surroundings, offering nice panoramic views. The room was spacious, with a large balcony that made evenings especially relaxing. There's a lovely pool — perfect for unwinding after a hot day of exploring. Properly working A/C and WIFI Breakfast is simple and similar each morning (typically eggs, sausage, toast, and a fruit plate), and while you're asked to choose just one, the staff is happy to serve all options if you ask politely. The staff may not be overly chatty, but they were always helpful and responsive to any requests we had. Our absolute hidden gem: Baie Ternay Beach. Just follow the main road all the way to the end, then take a scenic 10-minute hike through the marine park. At the end of the trail, you'll discover a stunning, secluded beach — we had it completely to ourselves, aside from a friendly park ranger who offered some great tips. Look out for the white buoy in the water; it marks an excellent snorkeling spot. Just be cautious when wading in — rays often hide beneath the sand, and stepping on one can be dangerous.
Getting to this hotel can be a bit of an adventure. It's located about 850 meters from the main road, but the uphill drive is steep and winding — definitely not for the faint of heart. You'll need a reliable car (and some confident driving skills) to make the climb. If you're arriving without a vehicle, carrying suitcases up that hill could be quite the workout. Keep in mind that dining options in the area are quite limited in the evenings. We only found two nearby restaurants, both on the pricier side. Takeout services are also restricted, typically operating only between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., so it’s worth planning ahead if you’re staying in for dinner.
Great place, in the jungle, amongst the wild nature. Staff is super friendly, there is a nice pool, balconies with great view. Silence and peace. On the contrary to some of the opinions in the internet, the rooms have good locks on windows and Doors - if you locks them, there is no chance something nad is going happen to you. Dont' listen to stupid tourists - just go there and experience it yourself! :)
For a big man, the breakfasts may be a little bit too small, but you are not here to stuff yourself with food, but to experience the nature and peace of this place!
The location is beautiful with stunning scenery. The pool was an added bonus. The beaches are stunning and not busy at all. A little out of the way but well worth the stay. Good walks nearby, but check with staff that they are safe before heading off.
Would advise to have a rental car or be happy paying for taxis up and down the hill. If you’re feeling fit you could walk and you’d be in good shape by the end of your stay.
My time at Waterfall Accommodation was lovely! Slightly isolated, but peaceful and beautiful! Staff were helpful and friendly and breakfast was great. Hot drinks and water available all day.
Fresh milk for hot drinks (instead of powder) would have been welcome. Other than that, everything was sufficient for me and just as described on booking.com.
Both the family and staff members were extremely kind and supportive. It was great to see that the guests' comfort was a top priority to them.
Everything was beyond my expectations. If I'm expected to mention something to improve, I'd mention the garderobe only. It's a matured piece of furniture with some difficulties. Otherwise everything was wonderful and the location and the view were also awesome.
The hotel outside area was really beautiful immersed in the nature, with a lovely pool and a cozy area with sofas—perfect for relaxing or reading a book. We definitely recommend renting a car, as the distances from the airport, cities, and main beaches are quite long. Overall, we had a wonderful stay
While we loved our stay, we believe the rooms could use a little refresh, except for the bathroom which looked recently renovated. Breakfast had a limited selection, and the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant in case you’d like to dine in.
Very nice accomodation! Clean throughout, friendly hosts and good breakfast! Would stay there again snd cannot confirm previous negative postings on other ‚advising‘ platforms. Two facts schould be mentioned: the road to the accomodation is very steep- no problem by car, but not nice on foot. The other thing is, there are very limited restaurant options in the area if you arrive at night. Hosts will help with rental car- pick-up at ferry terminal and return at airport was no problem!
The whole estate could do with a little more light in the evenings!
We had such a wonderful stay! The place is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by nature and so peaceful — the perfect escape from the busy city. The pool was a dream! Super clean and with a stunning view of the greenery around. We spent hours just swimming, sunbathing, and enjoying the quiet.
The whole property is well taken care of and has such a calming, natural vibe. You can really feel the love and attention that’s been put into it.
Stunning location. Room is fantastic. Breakfast fruit platter was delicious but was otherwise disappointing. Be prepared to walk up and down the hills - dinner not provided.
This is a self-catering large house with various rooms, which are ample and comfortable. The rooms were very clean. The place is within the rainforest, which makes it truly exotic and peaceful. The swimming pool is small but very nice.
The appliances are old and some where broken. The breakfast was not good. The (instant) coffee was undrinkable. Also, this property is very isolated and located quite high on the hill. It is not easy to reach. The roads leading to it are extremely steep. Unless you have a proper car, it is nearly impossible to reach it, especially on a wet road (which happened often). Driving to it felt dangerous at times.
The property is beautiful but it's up a very steep hill and if you're without transport,it's a tough climb. The property is very beautiful and peaceful, nestled in lush green tropical forests, however they only serve breakfast so getting food is difficult without a car. I wouldn't recommend a solo traveller without a car to stay here, there are very little food options in nearby Port Glaud except Del Place which is lovely but pricey for everyday foid
Just the lack of food options. If you have a car, no problem!
It is located up on the hill in the forest. I liked the view.
The whole place very quite
The location was perfect and calm.
Beautiful construction on marvellous location.
Cheap materials and incomplete painting of the walls. Worn out furniture covered with cheap tissues. Broken fridge repaired with meters of scotch. There must have been a recent change of owner.
Facilities, nature, happiness of the staff
Anlittle far from the sea.without car, you do not go anywhere
The great location
We found dealing with the staff difficilt and confusing as the name of the property is different from Booking . com. It took us a while to locate it. Before we arrived, I sent two emails which were not responded to. Instead, we also got a lecture why I did not respond to the management's call. As I had explained in my message to the owner, I do not have a roaming number and thus I could not respond to calls. The breakfast was very meager and poor consisting of a lot of breads, juice which is not natural, and just one egg per person. The establishment had zero flexibility for our requests
Nothing
The property is very difficult to get to , the hosts aren’t friendly, cobb webs in the ceiling , beds aren’t comfortable and the paints peeling off the walls cause of moist, the rooms have a funky smell , and the hot water finishes after a certain time , noises in the ceiling during the evening, hosts aren’t accommodating
Everything was absolutely perfect
Nothing
a lot of mold, the rooms have mold everywhere, the bathrooms are dirty, the road is difficult to access... I don't recommend it, especially if you go with children!!!!
This is just a hidden gem in the jungles. We've stayed only for one night before the flight, so don't do this mistake too. Book it for more days to enjoy the guesthouse and your time there. Okay, just a few words what I've liked. This a very beautiful place with a stunning views of the ocean, mountains and jungles. The room is big enough with a private terrace and a lot of lovely details. I would like to say that this is a good place just to stay for a few days, take a deep breathe and relax. Btw swimming pool is open all day and night. Was very nice to watch stars at the night while swimming. Highly reccomend.
Beautiful nature
Service of staff.
We had appartment 3 (on the top floor). Supernice accomodation, looks beautiful, nice swimming pool, friendly staff. Breakfast is generous. Fantastic place to unwind and enjoy the quietness. A microwave is available to heat up take-aways (not many restaurants in the area
Location is a bit different than reported at Booking.com. Search for Villa Vanilla for the accurate location. It takes 40 minutes by car to get to Beau Vallon because the road goes through the hills.
I had one of the best stays during my visit in Seychelles. From the beautifully designed rooms, Breathtaking views from the rooms balcony overlooking lush greens and good stuff service. If you want to have a quiet and peaceful holiday in a secluded area, then this is the place to be.
After this experience there is nothing good we can say about this place, just stay away.
We got robbed at night while sleeping in this place and it was the most traumatic and stressful experience ever. Also by the way it's not "Waterfall accomodation", it's "Villa Vanilla" that changed Booking.com name due to bad reviews. About the robbery. It was our first honeymoon night in Seychelles. We woke up sawing a thieve in our room at night, stealing our backpacks with passports, cameras and money. We tried to catch him but he ran away to the forest. Fortunately other guests immediatelly called the police who by a very fortunate accident found our bags far away in the hiking trail but of course without cash. To our surprise, the manager of the hotel was sleeping in the villa when all this happened but never came to check what's happening or answered our calls. The staff never apologized for what happened and didn't even say anything about it in the morning, it's like it didn't happen even though there was so much screaming and all guests came to see what happened. Don't think it's just us who got unlucky — IN THIS ACCOMODATION IT WAS A THIRD ROBBERY THAT HAPPENED IN ONE MONTH!!! The thieve was very well prepared for it and certainly does often checks of the place as the room, windows and doors aren't seen from the street but is very high up and surrounded only by forests. And the villa's staff didn't take any measures to fix security cameras or take other precautions — cameras weren't working even after two robberies in the same month!!! Due to staff's absolute ignorance to address robbery of our stuff and their ignorance to repair security cameras after two robberies that happened before us, we have strong suspitions the personell might work hand in hand with thieves. Also we had 3 more nights booked in this place and they even didn't want to refund them! At least after talking with police and tourism department they refunded all 4 nights.
This was our 3rd trip to the Seychelles. We spent 3 nights there and it was one of our best stays. From the beginning we were aware of the location of the hotel and it is true that you need a car to get there efficiently but honestly you need to rent one to get around Mahe anyway. Returning to the location, in my opinion it is one of the strongest points. The views are simply amazing. We slept in a family apartment which had a beautiful large terrace overlooking the jungle and mountains. The rooms themselves and the bathroom were very clean and spacious. Someone wrote that the room smelled of moisture. Sorry but how can it be otherwise with such humidity? After all, it is not a desert and besides it is not bothersome at all. It is also not true that there was no one from the service in the afternoon and evening. At the reception there is a gong that you have to use and after a while someone always appears. As for the service, it was always friendly and smiling. Breakfast was basic but tasty and fresh. The kids could use the pool whenever they wanted without any restrictions. If we ever come back to Mahe, it will only be to this place.
Nothing at all.
It was lovely being up in the mountains surrounded by nature
isnt the best location if you don't have a car, staff seemed to only care if you asked, didn't really do guest check ins
The garden is amazing! And the host even more amazing! Loved everything about the stay. Had the best coconut water fresh from the coconut trees. Will remember the stay forever. Thankyou!
The WiFi could be better at the cabin, but its also a good way to relax to the fullest
A nice place lost in the forest
Depends where your rooms are situated…the room number 7 is a very risky room …we had a visitor at night at 2 h in the morning who still my wallet, my documents and my camera …impossible to run after him in the bush 😡 No camera in the accommodation, no one at night in the accommodation to help, to call the police , to prevent …. Last point if you rent a room there, choose an adequate car ….very strong and Very steep side
Amazing short stay „up in the trees“. We regret not having found the accomodotaion prior to almost leaving.
If it hadn‘t been for a kind local (who apparently guides people to the accomodation every so often) we would not have found it, since the map location isn‘t correct on booking. The accomodation previously went by Villa Vanilla – so it would be great to have known that prior to out search. I‘d recomend mentioning the name change. Otherwise very friendly and great stay!
Stunning setting, nice swimming pool, great staff and all the facilities needed for a good stay ✨
Every thing specially the architecture of the place inside the forest in perfect harmony
The big appartement with Seaview was really unbelievable great. The l9cation with vieuw on the mountains and the sea is fantastic. The appartement is very big and the fourniture is very sophisticated. One of the best places we ever stayed!
Ok, not everything was perfect. (The WiFi didn't work) But if you stay in a room like this you will see this isn't important.
Being on the top of the hill, and having the green forest everywhere around, windows on two sides. The pool is simple but clean and perfect. Amazing to take a dip morning & evening ! The breakfast is simple but good. Nice to have it included.
Nice place really relaxing
Really nice and relaxing
Far from everything
The view from the bed is stunning, also the balcony. It‘s a beautiful place with a great design fitting in the nature.
The sink was leaking a lot, please fix this!
Staff flexibility to accomodate customers need. Very efficiente staff. Wonderful room view and delicius breakfast. Very recommended to spend 1-2 days in the wild nature!🤩
Evetything was perfect
Location is absolutely fabulous. Rooms also nice and view absolute superb, quiet . Would love to stay there longer. Location is really excellent. Breakfast was also very good.
A few things need maintenance in the room and bathroom. After 3-4 pm. there is no staff around...especially in case of emergency, it is difficult to find someone. Although the accommodation is in an excellent location, it is really far up the hill from the main road and without a car, it is difficult to get to a restaurant or some food. (Especially for two elderly ladies) .
Needs some maintenance
It is one of the most enchanting places I have ever been. We rented an apartment with a sea view, I highly recommend it. Amazing view, we regretted only renting it for one night. The apartment also has a garden, a large terrace, a swimming pool is a stone's throw away. It is equipped with everything you need. The breakfast is not rich but it is sufficient. There is coffee, tea and water at all times self-service. There is a beautiful waterfall nearby
Do not leave food outside in the evening 😉
Beautiful room and surroundings. Exceeded expectations!
Be advised you really need a car and there's only one (expensive) restaurant nearby. Would be great if there were more kitchen facilities or a dinner option.
This place, up in the hills was perfect for us (a family with teenage children). It felt like having our own private staffed villa! We enjoyed exploring the waterfall and the beaches around Port Glaud. It was probably the most beautiful place I have ever stayed and the staff were lovely. Great breakfasts.
Everything is wonderful, but do your research. You will need a car to stay here!
AMAZING ACCOMODATION
CAN BE CHALLENGING TO REACH
Amazing hotel to relax and get use of it. Rooms are stunning, swimming pool is really good and breakfast is really good as well.
You can’t find it anywhere The address of the hotel, we went to the waterfall in the mountains to ask for it and the man told us to write Villa Vainilla on GPS, it works! We found it this way. It's a bit difficult to get in there as it is up on a hill. Wifi doesn’t get to everywhere on the room.
Location was great, fun drive. View was lovely and at one with nature
It’s a bit tired and could be better room service. Some bedding and towels need updating
The setting and rooms were exactly like the pictures shown on their site! The rooms were clean, very good AC and pool was gorgeous. Breakfast was average, fresh fruit was lovely. There was a great tour company we used called Cliff n Coast! We had an amazing day seeing all the secret spots! Highly recommend!
The location is far from Resturants so you will have to pay for taxis if you don’t have a car. They do not serve lunch or dinner or have a bar so you really have to get all supplies before you return back to your room.
Waterfall Accommodation (or Villa Vanilla) was perfect for what we were looking to do on Mahé. The villa is located high in the mountains, accessed by steep winding roads and is perched in a location where you can see much of the North of the island. The accommodation had excellent air-conditioning when needed, privacy, a place to sit and enjoy the evening and an area to sit and relax with other guests or to by oneself. The wood construction is beautiful and perfect for the location. It wasn't 'stuck-up' and we were happy to come and go as we pleased. From our first introduction on Day 1 to check out new were looked after when we needed it. We were not followed around, pandered to or hassled and if this is what you are looking for I would suggest booking a hotel suited for your needs. Our room was cleaned, towels changed and we had all we needed. Breakfast was simple, but suitable to start the day. The fresh fruit juice lovely as was the fresh cut fruit platter served every day with a smile. You will need a car or be very keen on hard tough steep walks up and down the road, so hire a car and enjoy travelling around Mahé. There are shops nearby, a lovely restaurant down the road where we watch fish swimming in the water while we ate our dinner. There were birds, geckos and primary forest and a mountain right outside our door. It was wonderful.
In writing any sort of comment it must be said I am acutely aware of the lengths owners of properties go to to ensure a guest feels welcome and to comment on things that may not be so well attended to seems awfully presumptuous of me. That said, a little improvement could be made by offering soap for the shower and investing in a good coffee machine. For the soap, maybe work with a local supplier, who you can also sell their products for. It did not affect us as we always bring our own. For coffee, Europeans are all high on coffee and a good cup in the morning goes a long way to making the day start well. We always had coffee and it was good, but you can make it great. Finally, and I am not sure how to suggest an improvement, but a few times the guests above us coming back, splashed some water on the floor which comes through the floor board gaps on the veranda. Again, for us it was something we were aware of but maybe there is a solution or perhaps a little notice for guests to be aware others may be below them. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read these only as suggestions, as I loved your place and want to only give you support. The above are not complaints and I did not mention them to the owner during our stay.
Location in the Forest Nice rooms but you can hear people from other rooms
Equipment aleady used and a bit „messy“ Not the cleanast Hotel but Overall ok
The rooms are quite spacious. each room has a large and comfortable terrace. the terraces offer very beautiful views. the staff is polite and friendly.
the rooms require more maintenance and somewhere renovation.
I liked the seclusion of the accommodation, it has a great view of the mountains if you go into the main garden. Comfortable bed, big bedroom. Private balcony.
The facility exceeded my expectations. A beautiful place with a beautiful view. I had room no. 1. Everything was renovated and fragrant. Incredible climate. A huge terrace surrounding the room that opens onto the jungle. The room is glassed so that you feel as if you were outside. You leave the room through a beautiful terrace to the lobby where you have a kitchen and outdoor seating areas and this amazing 1.6 m deep swimming pool with hot water. I've been to almost every place in the world, but this hotel impressed me the most because of the atmosphere there. The service was fantastic, especially the older gentleman who was always smiling at everyone and was very nice to every guest. It's rare to meet such nice people as this gentleman. Please note the name of the hotel is Villa Vanilla, not as described in the booking
The location is amazing inside the nature with a 24 hours open pool and an amazingly friendly staff
The way to the accommodation is a little bit rough so it’s a must to have a car since you are not able to reach the accommodation by bus! But if you are an ok driver and you rent a car this accommodation is the place to be !!
Cheap. Remote location.
No receipt, no taxes, no politeness from staff. Breakfast was slow and cold. When there is wind all the doors, sun shades and everything else untied keeps swinging and knocking - felt like in a horror house.
Ended up being our favourite and cheapest place we stayed in Seychelles. The pool, bright and sunny room and big balcony with an amazing view. Breakfast and the patio were so nice, surroundings are very green and tropical. Breakfast- one egg by your preference, sausage, big fruit plate, bread jam and cake, tea, coffee and fresh juice/smoothie. It was perfect and totally enough for everyone. We had a car and I really recommend it regardless of your accommodation in Seychelles. Near there is big waterfall where you can swim, must do there
Nothing bad to say, maybe the airconditioning would be a little stronger but nothing crazy
Cute and cozy hotel in the mountains with own swimming pool and with a beautifull waterfall next to the hotel. The hotel staff is very helpful and nice. I was surprised by the fruit plate for breakfast, a lot of different fresh fruits.

Nice room
Money was missing from my bag and my partner’s.
They didn’t have any option to park since there are only 4 places to park your car, but we find the place to park so that other cars can leave without hindrance. Anyway we were requested from the property to park the car on the road which is on the uphill while there is only 4 places. I have to mention it was really heavy rain at that moment. The road to the property is really steep and not easy accessable expecially during the rain. The property looks nice on the photos, but when you enter your room you will see it’s very dirty, furniture is not cleaned, curtainss are white and they are thick, but the light comes over to the room. We did not have hot water. The AC did not work and we needed to close all windows since the property is surrounded with forest and all animals come into room. The smell of room is really unpleasant. Breakfast is really poor. Not a value for a money
Good breakfast, beautiful room with a terrace, nice secluded location, beautiful rainforest
Steep driveway and limited parking possibilities, one egg per breakfast included and additional charges per extra egg 😳
Nice room, beautiful pool, great balcony, fresh fruit for breakfast
Difficult to reach as uphill and very steep, breakfast choices (only eggs and toast, 1 sausage besides fresh fruit)
The peaceful environment in the property area. The room with a wrap around balcony.
Some difficulty finding the property, there should be more signs. On Booking, it is called Waterfall Accommodation, but in reality it is called Villa Vanilla. In the 4 nights we stayed there, the room was never decently cleaned, nor were the towels changed. We only had hot water for showers on the first day, on the other days it was always cold. Inadmissible for those who pay €100 on average per night.
Location is fantastic breakfast was also good.
The supervisor lady needs to understand that her guests are paying customers. Was very rude when I just requested that I need to use the stove for my coffee percalator. She came and dumped two plates of eggs on our table outside our room and just walked away - bfast wasnt even for us. Said she is super busy even though there was probably one 2-3 other rooms there. Not my fault they have a 2 x plate stove to feed every one in the mornings.
It was so peaceful. Very little noise in the area
The lack of WiFi and hot water
The location itself is breath taking.
Peacefulness
I don't understand bad reviews. It's not brand new hotel, but it's one of a kind. Staff is always welcoming and nice to me. The view is stunning and you are really feeling submerged in nature. Room was super spacious and AC worked just fine. Just close windows before the sunset and you won't get any insects during the night. It's just common sense.
Hot water was not working, but as it was pretty hot weather it was not a big deal.
Both poor
Staff refused to show us the room before we'd paid and told us that we would be inconvenienced by noise and dust during the day. Restaurant area smelled very strongly of varnish/thinners. Breakfast had poor choice, undrinkable coffee. No drinking water in room. Pool was dirty when we arrived. Safe didn't work
We liked the swimming pool area, the room and the terrace was quite big and comfortable. The villa was really cozy and immersed in the nature. The staff was nice and polite.
The housekeeping did not provide new towels and breakfast had very few options.
The view and balcony was amazing
Too high price for that place. We were charged a bit more than it was on booking on our reservation. The hotel is located on the hill and the road was very steep. Staff were not very comunicative
Everything was great. The staff was very lovely. The breakfast was delicious.
WIFI connectcion was unsteady.
Wonderful green environment, birds and flying foxes :) Nice staff
We stayed in the 2-bedroom apartment and it is absolutely beautiful. The balcony, with bed, has stunning views and the room is lovely. As others have noted, it is not 5-star service, but we expected this and didn't mind as the accommodation itself is wonderful for the price. The road to the accommodation is steep but paved and we managed it fine in a little Hyundai i10 rental. It would be challenging during rain, but we still managed it fine when the roads were slick post-rain. Overall, if you don't mind the service quirks, it is highly recommended. Nice location near Port Launay, a few good restaurants in the area.
No wifi in room. No real vegetarian breakfast options despite reminding them every day that my wife is vegetarian. Breakfast quite ordinary regardless. Some missing kitchen utensils but they brought them when asked.
Breakfast is nice! Room is spacious with a beautiful view on the mountains
The road to reach the hotel is scary to drive. Not easily accessible
We had the 2 rooms villa, we had an amazing view on the sea and the smaller islands. Beautiful sunset. Big rooms and comfortable beds. The air con is very powerful it cooled down the bigger room fairly quick. The work of art displayed is beautiful and puts you in the vibes of an island.
It needs better maintenance. The pool water was cloudy. Some equipment and kitchen appliances were very old or broken. The staff seemed like they were lacking experience in hospitality. P.S: be ware there are small lizards everywhere outside and sometimes they can get inside. But it is the case everywhere in the island. Also we could gear weird noise of scartching in the roof at sunrise. We thought it was bats hiding inside the roof. It was fine for me but my friend felt uncomfortable
Great Location, but make sure to take a rental car because it's so remote on a steep hill.
good breakfast and location. The ladies working there are very welcoming and provide service with a smile.
It changed name and is now called Villa Vanilla. The way is an adventure. But the views and the room was breathtaking.
