Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Lovely property within walking distance of Monets garden (35 mins). The room was comfortable and the bathroom good. The owner helped us to find somewhere to eat nearby. Breakfast was good.
We visited during the heatwave with temperatures of 36C. Our room was under the property with no air conditioning and a tiny fan. It was unbearable although not the fault of the owner. The room was pricey for what it actually was.

Reviewed Aug 19, 2026Ein wunderschönes Haus. Ein toller Garten und ein sehr schönes, gemütliches Zimmer. Unser Gastgeber Luciano war sehr sympathisch, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns gute Tipps gegeben. Er hat uns ein tolles Frühstück zubereitet und uns morgens auf die Terrasse unseres Zimmers gebracht. Auf dem weitläufigen Grundstück konnten wir unser Auto und unsere Fahrräder sicher abstellen.
Es gab nichts zu beanstanden.

Unser Zimmer lag im Souterrain/Tiefparterre, deswegen schlecht möglich, nachts das Fenster offen zu lassen und leider auch kein Ausblick auf den Park. Das Frühstück wird nicht in der Veranda eingenommen, wie das Foto suggeriert, man bekommt es in einem Picknickkorb auf den Gartentisch gestellt. Es ist sehr übersichtlich, pro Person genau abgezählt und weder außergewöhnlich noch ausreichend. Um 8.40 wird serviert, also nichts für Frühaufsteher. Wir hatten uns sehr auf das schöne Haus mit der wunderschönen Veranda gefreut, waren aber enttäuscht und würden es nicht weiterempfehlen.

Reviewed Jun 27, 2026Die Pension hat uns hat uns richtig gut gefallen, wir haben uns hier wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Lage ist toll, in direkter Nähe zu Monets Garten und dem schönen Ort Vernon. Wir haben direkt auf dem Grundstück geparkt, schön im Schatten. Der Gastgeber Luciano hat uns sehr herzlch begrüßt. Das Zimmer war schön groß mit einem tollen Bad, die Betten waren bequem. Jeden Morgen hat uns Luciano das liebevoll zusammengestellte Frühstück in einem Korb auf den Terrassentisch gestellt. Vielen Dank an Christin und Luciano, Ihr wart tolle Gastgeber. Ebenfalls unbedingt erwähnnswert ist der klasse angelegte Garten mit Teich und vielen schönen Gelegenheiten zum relaxen. Wenn wir wieder in der Nähe sind, würden wir hier auf jeden Fall wieder übernachten.

The only little problem was not having a suitable table and chairs to sit at to eat in our room, the weather was not nice enough to sit outside. The location of the B&B was perfect, a short walk away from the main village. Our host was charming and used a translator to help conversation.
There wasn’t anything in particular we didn’t like.

The property and grounds are beautiful, well situated for the gardens, museum and restaurants. We particularly liked the little terrace outside our room were breakfast appeared in the morning.

Reviewed Jun 13, 2026We were welcomed by the owner, once we had found the gate bell. It would be good to have a photo of where to find the bell on the confirmation! Front gates in England are not usually locked and passcode protected. Our bed was very comfortable, though the linen was worn, but the room was not serviced at all during our stay. Our waste bin filled very rapidly, and I had to take walks to find bins in the town where I could deposit our rubbish! The breakfast was plentiful, though almost all carbohydrate - we would have liked cheese and some soft fruit. The apples, though, were superb! Breakfast was delivered to our room in a wicker basket: the presentation was great, except floral plates were mixed with utilitarian insulated coffee mugs. Not very stylish. We were grateful to the owner for getting us a taxi to the station; we were struggling to make a booking. If the owner has only recently moved in and is still "getting his act together", fine. If he has been there for a considerable time, oh dear.
The owner did not give us a phone number to contact him if there was a non-medical urgent need. To just be told “dial 112” is unacceptable. The grounds are not maintained as neatly as the photos suggest. I think there has been a change of owner, and now everything is allowed to grow in a more “rustic” manner. The gardens were OK, but just not as neat as we had been given to expect. The gravel paths are now covered with weeds. We requested ground floor accommodation (which was very nice) because my wife is in a wheelchair, but I would have liked to have been shown other parts of the house which I could have visited.

At the opposite end of Rue de Claude Monet allowed us to enjoy and appreciate the beautifully homes and gardens along the way. Our host,Luciano, was very charming and welcoming with great tips. A wonderful French breakfast was provided.

Reviewed Jun 1, 2026The house is very beautiful, surrounded by very pretty garden and lake. The place for the breakfast is fantastic, just in the middle of the garden. The host is friendly and the location is perfect to visit Giverny on foot. There is also a free parking space for car.
I think the food offer for breakfast is not high neither special, considering the price of the accommodation and the nice place to have breakfast. A breakfast for 2 consisted in coffee, milk, 2 natural orange juices, 2 apples, 2 Danone yogurts, a nice bread, 2 nice croissants and 2 pain chocolat, butter and jams. No eggs, no local cheese, I confess that I was expecting a bit more local offers. Apart from that, nothing to dislike.

La struttura è immersa nella natura, c’è anche un piccolo laghetto che rende tutto ancora più suggestivo. È il luogo perfetto per godersi davvero Giverny. La posizione è comodissima, in meno di 20 minuti a piedi si raggiungono i Giardini di Monet e diversi ristoranti lungo la via. Facile da raggiungere sia a piedi che in macchina. Un posto bellissimo, ideale per rilassarsi e staccare davvero la mente. Il soggiorno è stato ancora più significativo perché coincideva con il giorno del mio compleanno e anche con la proposta del mio compagno. Essere lì ha reso tutto ancora più romantico e indimenticabile. Ci torneremo! 🤍

Reviewed May 3, 2026The location is perfect for visiting the Monet House and Gardens (about 15 minute walk). It's also possible to walk into Vernon - a very pleasant stroll along the river (about 45 minutes). Giverny is a beautiful little village. The gardens of La Pluie de Roses are beautiful and our Garden room had a very nice terrace. Parking is easy and the lovely owner kindly allowed us to leave our car in the grounds after check out, so we could visit the Monet house. We did not go inside the house, so not sure if there are also rooms in the house.
The pastries and bread were delicious but it would have been nice to have had some fresh fruit and protein (egg or cheese). From the photos on booking.com we thought La Pluie de Roses was a hotel with a breakfast room. However, it is a Bed and Breakfast. This is not a criticism, but just making others aware. (Maybe it says on the the website, but I didn't notice. ) Breakfast was delivered in a basket to our room. It was nice that we could eat it on our private terrace, as the weather was warm. The only small disappointment was that you could hear traffic from the road. From the photos it looks like it is very secluded. This is true of Monet's house itself, however. I suppose when he lived there, there were very few vehicles !

Either they had the room at the time of booking (weeks earlier) or not. While touring the Louvre I had to scramble to find other accommodations. Later in the day I got an email from booking.com advising me of the problem.

The bed was so comfortable and so peaceful. It’s a nice little walk into town and many nights. I was alone on the street and felt perfectly safe. It was so nice to have breakfast outside. Just waiting for me when I was ready to get up.
I have short hair so I didn’t mind but the blow dryer doesn’t stay on for very long. Like I said not an issue for me but if you have a long hair, it could be a challenge.

It is set in a large lot with lots of blooming roses, and breakfast is served in a lovely glass conservatory. The host was congenial.
The overall feel of the house and the rooms is a bit tired and worn. The bedroom we had and the common rooms need to be refreshed. It would also be helpful to provide guests who are driving with instructions on how to find the entrance.
