Quinta Labruja

The hosts, Gisa and Fred, are so kind and friendly. We stayed here whilst walking the Camino and it is right on the trail, but a perfect location as quiet, relaxing and peaceful. They gave us invaluable advice for the rest of our trip as well as cooking us delicious dinner and breakfast (the breakfast is included in the price). We got to enjoy time with the other guests who were also walking the Camino as well as time resting on our own. Everything at the BnB is cared for and considered, and the beds and showers were perfect. Would really really recommend this place! Thanks again

What an absolute gem, highly recommend Quinta Labruja. We stayed one night on the Portuguese Camino and it is directly on the route. We’re glad we stayed there overnight as we could tackle the big climb out of Labruja, well rested. Gisa and Fred are incredible hosts providing the warmest of welcomes and amazing hospitality. The breakfast in the morning was superb. Beautiful bedroom with comfortable bed and great shower.

Lovely bed and breakfast with beautiful mountain views. The hosts were very kind and prepared a very early breakfast for us so we could have something to eat before starting our day of walking. They also offered some tips for the rest of our Camino which was greatly appreciated.

La chambre et la salle de bains sont très belles. L'extérieur est accueillant et l'endroit très calme. Le repas du soir était excellent, notamment la soupe, et le petit déjeuner était parfait. Nos hôtes ont pris en compte nos demandes, car à pied sur le Chemin de Santiago en direction de Lisbonne, nous avons trouvé portes closes dans les bars et restaurants en ce dimanche lendemain de 15 août.

Fantastic property, owner’s wonderful. Would have loved to spend another night here.

The hosts Gisa and Fred were absolutely amazing. They were so welcoming and helpful and made the stay truly refreshing to get me on my way to the next leg. It’s immediately on the trail so it’s extremely convenient. The room was very clean, the bathroom attached was exceptional as well. The property felt like an oasis to rejuvenate. Breakfast was delicious and sitting on the porch taking in the views made it that much better.

Super friendly and helpful hosts and a lovely quiet and chilled place to stay. Gisa and Fred made us very welcome and provided a delicious salad for our evening meal and set out breakfast so we could leave early on our Camino adventure.

Esta en un lugar espectacular, las habitaciones son preciosas y con todos los detalles de alguien con un gusto exquisito. También el baño y la terraza exterior. De lujo. Pero lo mejor, Gisa y Fred. Se vuelcan con sus huéspedes, son acogedores, te miman…. La cena y el desayuno, de 10. Maravilloso anochecer y maravilloso amanecer. Un descubrimiento. Fui por una noche pero me hubiera quedado un mes. Un placer especial. Volveré.

Direkt am Jakobsweg gelegen bietet die Unterkunft von Gisa und Fred einigen Komfort, sodass man sich gut von einer anstrengenden Etappe erholen kann. Mit einem Frühstücksraum und zwei angrenzenden Zimmer mit eigenem Bad ist es eine ruhige Unterkunft. Die Betreuung erfolgt von den Gastgebern direkt und beim Check-in gleich mit einem Erfrischungsgetränk. Die Einrichtung ist modern, sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet (mit Hinweis auf die Herkunft der beiden :-). Auch die Empfehlung für den weiteren Wegverlauf und frühzeitige Buchung eines Slots für die Urkundenabholung in Santiago waren sehr wertvoll.

Einzig das Frühstück darf etwas üppiger ausfallen und nicht wie abgezählt sein, um auch gut gestärkt in die nächste Etappe zu starten.

Great hospitality on our Camino. Nice room, delicious breakfast. Lovely hosts. Dinner is offered and with few (no?) other options around, we took it. The vegetarian menu was limited but didn't disappoint. The two-room inn, half way up Labruja mountain was a great starting point to finish the climb.

De locatie is uitstekend gelegen, net voor de Labruja klim. De quinta heeft een buitenzitje naast de kamer waar het fijn zitten is. Fred en Gisa geven je een warm welkom!

Niks. Wel goed om even op het eten te letten. We kregen de keuze tussen een heerlijk kopje soep of een smaakvolle salade uit eigen tuin. Fred en Gisa geven duidelijk aan dat er geen complete avondmaaltijd wordt geserveerd. Goed om daar rekening mee te houden. Je kunt op 1,5 km in een restaurant eten.

Loved my stay here, I didn’t want to leave! Right on the Camino so I didn’t have to go out of the way and could cheer on other pilgrims as they pass. Gisa & Fred were great hosts.. we chatted for a while and they were just so kind. I paid for dinner and received the most delicious salad made by Gisa. Breakfast was included and was perfect fuel for the day. The other room wasn’t booked so I enjoyed the place to myself, sat on the patio, and enjoyed the mountain views and quiet. I also paid to have my laundry washed & dried.

Разположен на самия път Камино. Собствениците са много отзивчиви и готини. Стаите са нови, чисти и отлично обарудвани. Банята беше широка, чиста и комфортна. Най-приятно впечатление ми направиха леглата - удобни матраци и възглавници с чисти, колосани чаршафи. Въпреки, че закуската беше вегетарианска ми хареса много.

Gisa and Fred made us feel truly welcome from the moment we arrived. The accommodation was beautiful and comfortable, perfectly located right on the Camino. Our hosts were wonderfully helpful, the food was delicious, and the whole experience exceeded anything we could have hoped for.

Unser Aufenthalt in der Quinta Labruja war etwas ganz Besonderes. Die beiden Gastgeber empfangen ihre Gäste mit so viel Herzlichkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und echter Freude, dass man sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen und zuhause fühlt. Unser komfortabel eingerichtetes Zimmer mit eigenem Terrassenzugang war ein wunderbarer Rückzugsort – ruhig, geschützt und mit einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre. Dieser Ort strahlt Wärme, Ruhe und Geborgenheit aus. Besonders begeistert hat uns auch das selbstgemachte vegetarische Essen: mit Liebe zubereitet, unglaublich lecker und genau das Richtige nach einem langen Tag auf dem Camino. Auch die Frühstücksmöglichkeit war hervorragend und hat den Aufenthalt perfekt abgerundet. Darüber hinaus haben wir viele wertvolle Tipps und persönliche Empfehlungen für unseren weiteren Camino erhalten – weit über das hinaus, was man normalerweise erwarten würde. Wir haben uns rundum wohl und bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Sollte uns der Weg noch einmal nach Labruja führen, werden wir ohne jede Frage wieder hier übernachten. Vielen Dank für diese besondere Gastfreundschaft und die schöne Erinnerung auf unserem Jakobsweg!

Heel fijne plek op de camino. Het is er heel netjes en rustig. Zowel het avondmaal als het ontbijt waren heerlijk. Je voelt aan alles dat deze gastvrouw en gastheer het met de volle goesting doen. Ik zou hier zeker terugkomen.

A Quinta Labruja é uma casa antiga, totalmente remodelada, situada num ponto estratégico para quem faz o Caminho de Santiago de Compostela (Português Central). Fica pouco antes do início da subida da Serra da Labruja, considerada a etapa mais desafiadora do percurso. De modo que encaramos a elevação logo no início do dia, após uma noite revigorante e um café da manhã gostoso. É uma propriedade com apenas duas suítes para hóspedes. O casal proprietário, muito gentil, mora no segundo piso e está disponível para trocar ideias sobre o trajeto. Não posso deixar de mencionar ainda o talento de Gisa para a gastronomia vegetariana!Tivemos oportunidade de experimentar uma sopa de legumes com leite de coco que foi um carinho na alma!

Instalaçoes novas excelentes e com muito bom gosto. Uma casa antiga totalmente reformulada, banho excelente, cama e lençóis maravilhosos. O casal proprietário muito simpático, prestativo e com energia muito boa. O local fica um pouco antes de começar a subida maior do Caminho Português Central, então é o ideal para terminar uma etapa ali e no dia seguinte subir o morro.

Ein Träumchen :) Gisa und Fred haben hier ein kleines Paradies erschaffen! Tolle Gastgeber!! Alles hell und freundlich, neu und blitzeblank. Hier sollte man auf jeden Fall vorbeischauen! Und das Frühstück war Mega! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. Liebe Grüße Simone & Olga

Acolhimento dos hospitaleiros foi excelente, fizemos amigos. Quarto confortável, limpo e ótima vibração. Localização excelente, no caminho de Santiago. Jantar e café da manhã incomparável, excelente.

I loved everything about this property ~ the hosts, the room, the incredible dinner (best on the Camino to date!) and lovely breakfast. It is directly on the Camino path. The room is very modern and clean and the hosts are so welcoming and have literally every thing to make the stay special. The two rooms they have available are completely separate from the main house. A entry/dining area is shared by the two rooms~ but they are each self contained~ lovely shower and heated towel racks. Perfect location to stay, so pilgrims can be fresh to tackle the toughest part of the Camino (3 km climb out of Labruja).

There was nothing that I didn’t like. It is a 10+ out of 10 property!

Wir hatten einen super netten Aufenthalt bei Gisa & Fred. Die beiden sind unfassbar lieb, das Haus sehr gepflegt, Essen lecker, Lage super, ruhig, toller Ausblick und und und … Wir wären am liebsten noch länger geblieben um uns die Gegend in Ruhe anzuschauen. Sehr gerne wieder :)

Minha irmã e eu passamos uma noite na Quinta Labruja em março/26 quando fizemos o caminho central português a Santiago de Compostela. Fomos recebidas cordialmente por Gisa e Fred com todas as instruçoes necessárias para a nossa estadia. O quarto é amplo, lindo e aconchegante e o jantar e o café da manha foram deliciosos! Obrigada Gisa e Fred pelo carinho e pelas dicas que nos deram para o Caminho.

Viladizから35km以上歩いて、夜8時のチェックインぎりぎりに到着しましたが、オーナー夫妻が温かく迎えてくれました。ウェルカムドリンクのビールが疲れた体に染み渡りました。
お部屋はおしゃれで清潔、とても快適で1日の疲れを癒すことができました。到着が遅く夕食はいただけませんでしたが、翌朝の朝食はフルーツ、チーズ、ヨーグルトなど盛りだくさんで、巡礼に必要なエネルギーをしっかり補給できました。
一緒に歩いていた母が足を痛め、この先長距離を歩くのが難しい状況でしたが、オーナー夫妻がタクシーの手配やアドバイスをしてくださり、出発後も連絡をくれるなど、とても親切にしていただきました。
このエリアはTuiまで宿泊先が少ないですが、またポルトガルの道を歩く際にはぜひ再訪したいですし、他の巡礼者にもぜひおすすめしたい宿です。 We walked more than 35 km from Vilhadiz and arrived just before the 8:00 pm check-in time. The owners welcomed us warmly, and the welcome beer was exactly what we needed after such a long day.
The room was stylishly decorated, very clean, and extremely comfortable—perfect for recovering from the day’s walk. Since we checked in late, we couldn’t have dinner, but breakfast was wonderful with fruit, cheese, yogurt, and more, giving us plenty of energy for our pilgrimage.
My mother, who walked with me, had foot problems after the long distance, and it became difficult for her to continue. The owners kindly helped us by arranging a taxi, giving advice, and even checking in with us after we had left. Their kindness and support were truly touching.
There are not many accommodation options in this area on the way to Tui, but if I walk the Portuguese route again, I would definitely stay here. I highly recommend this place to other pilgrims.

It was the best night in the Camino the owners fred and Gisa was outstanding, we had a very nice talk the food was great.

Wir sind ganz spontan gekommen und wurden sehr freundlich von Gisa und Fred empfangen. Besonders die warme Suppe war am Abend nach unserer Wanderung eine Wohltat. Das Zimmer war wirklich schön, das Bett war gemütlich, das Bad sehr sauber. Wir hatten alles, was wir brauchten und haben uns wohl gefühlt!

We loved everything about our stay here. The rooms are beautiful- clean, stylish and very comfortable with ensuite bathroom. Gisa and Fred are warm and welcoming and cooked us a beautiful meal for only 16 euros. An absolute highlight of our trip.

Ein kleines Schmuckstück! Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl und gut betreut gefühlt. Das Zimmer ist liebevoll eingerichtet und das Badezimmer top ausgerüstet, aber das Abendessen war das Beste von allem. Die Vegi-Lasagne hat herrlich geschmeckt, Gisa, und Fred hat uns königlich bedient. Tausend Dank.

Die Unterkunft wird von einem belgisch-niederländischen Paar geführt. Beide sprechen sehr gut deutsch. Ich selten so liebenswerte Gastgeber erlebt. Der Salat abends und das Frühstück am Morgen waren mit viel Liebe zubereitet und super lecker. Obendrein gabs noch gute Tips für den weiteren Weg nach Santiago😊!

The property is right on the Camino. The hosts were lovely people. They served us a delicious vegetarian dinner for 16€ and breakfast included. They did our laundry for 5€ each. The home was spotless, the beds super comfortable and the shower felt wonderful. But the best part were the hosts.

Clean accommodation, comfortable beds in a spacious room. With a private bathroom and great water pressure in the shower. The helpful, friendly and engaging hosts provided a delicious homemade dinner and breakfast, all vegetarian. The accommodation is located in a very quiet village, directly on the Central Camino, a great option if Valenca or Tui are your next destinations.
