Iora Guest House

We waren er tijdens monsoon - dus weinig toeristen in heel Barathpur. Toch nog steeds heel de moeite waard. In het broedseizoen zie je andere dingen. Doe een regenjasje mee :). In het guesthous was het ook zeer rustig. De eigenaar liet ons gerust maar was wel beschikbaar voor vragen en tussenkomsten.

Le propriétaire est non seulement un passionné d’ornithologie mais aussi de plantes dont il a décoré l’ensemble de sa maison . La décoration de cette guest house fait que l’on se sent à la maison plus que dans un hôtel . Repas excellent possible à l’hôtel . Les chambres sont confortables et d’une propreté exceptionnelle . Tout cela à deux pas du Keoladeo national parc . Propriétaire très sympa

The host is highly accommodating. I arrived quite late and also had a late check-out. There were flip-flops in the room, which I really find useful in hotels. The food was delicious.

There were no towels in the room. But they were provided when asked.

Basic but very clean. The staff are lovely and the food is great. Very good value for money.

Bed is te kort voor mij (1m88). De kamer maakt de verwachting die je krijgt door de vrolijke buitenkant van het gebouw niet helemaal waar. Het is prima, maar basic.

Clean room, comfortable bed. Iora is very pretty with bright colours and lots of plants. Both the dinner and breakfast were tasty and freshly cooked. The location is perfect for Keoladea NP. The owner could not have been more helpful. He organised a fantastic bird safari for us with a really knowledgeable guide. The Iora is excellent value for money.

The owner of the guesthouse is amazing. This is the most value for money place ever. The food is also super good. Definitely worth it.

The owner is a birdwatcher and photographer. It's a haven for people coming to Bharatpur for birdwatching... You can network with fellow bird photographers and watchers... Learn and let's learn...

Friendly hotel with clean, basic rooms. Friendly and helpful staff with a lovely roof top garden. Very close to Keoladeo National Park. If you want lunch or dinner you will need to let them know in advance on the day or day before as it is a small kitchen. Food we had was excellent.

Not a real negative but be aware there is noise from the street- dogs barking, etc. at night so you may want to bring ear plugs if that will bother you.

I liked everything about my stay here. Devendra, the owner, could not be more helpful. He arranged a great guide for Keoladeo and helped coordinate some issues with my hotel in my next town. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the food was great, the location was perfect. I absolutely would stay here again.

The location, the pretty flowering pots, the water dispenser which helps planet Earth by reducing plastic, the food, the staff and last but not the least Devendra Singh the owner who is himself a birder, photographer, knowledgeable, helpful and so unassuming!

Prijs-kwaliteit verhouding is goed. De bedden en de badkamer zijn prima. Ontbijten en avondeten is mogelijk bij de overnachting. De locatie is geweldig en is op loopafstand naar het nationale park.

Iora Guest House is a quiet and peaceful oasis. This is one of the best places we have stayed in many trips to india. The location is perfect if you to visit Keoladeo bird sanctuary. The rooftop garden is a beautiful place to sit and read or just watch the world go by below. The food is simple but delicious. Our host kindly made us a packed breakfast so we could make an early start in the bird reserve. There are bikes you can hire which are better and cheaper than those available in the reserve and it's just a 5 minute bike ride round to the entrance. The room was very clean and comfortable. The attention to detail, the cleanliness, the fittings, the linen, the owner.... All exceptionally good. Mr Devendra Singh is a very talented photographer too. I wonder why people stay at 5 star hotels when you have a stay like this. Brilliant.

Muy cercano a pie de la puerta del Keoladeo National Park y la posibilidad de alquilar aqui bicicletas para recorrer el parque. El propietario siempre atento a tus necesidades y un experto naturalista que te puede asesorar en tu visita. Hotel frecuentado por ornitologos indios e internacionales y ambiente de birdwatchers. Buena cocina y te pueden preparar pic-nic para el dia. Para volver.

Dit guesthouse is echt zoals de foto hierboven laat zien heel veel planten en bloemen overal en ook op het dakterras. De eigenaar is een natuurgids en die weet wat wij belangrijk vinden. Hij heeft er ook voor gezorgd dat ik een zeer goede Rickshaw natuur gids heb gekregen Kaptan Singh echt een aanrader. En je kan hier ook blijven eten was lekker.

Very close to the Keoladeo National Park. Owner can arrange transportation with the golf carts from the park so they can pick you up and drop you back at the hostel. The place has a great vibe for meeting other travelers, common areas, they also serve food so you don't need to go out. Comfortable bed and bathroom.

A bargain price for a clean, comfortable room. Home cooked food available and a good breakfast selection. The owner is very friendly and helpful and can arrange an excellent guide to take you into the national park. Highly recommended for a stay in Bharatpur.

It’s a beautiful little property. Very well managed, the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff was also very attentive. Devendra jee is a very nice person and very good photographer too and has a lot of knowledge about the park since he is also a naturalist. I would highly recommend this property to everyone planning to go the park.

Couldn't recommend this place more. Great location near the bird reserve, a lovely space - a pretty colourful building, comfy dining area and rooftop. The room is comfortable and well equipped. The team there are so helpful, organised and friendly. We hired bikes for the day which was great. Also the food is the best we've had in India so far - really home made and tasty. Thank you!

Leider ist es zu einer Verwechslung gekommen und mein Zimmer ist an eine andere Helga vermietet worden…. Ich wurde im Gästehaus des Bruders untergebracht! Es war in Ordnung! Personal sehr nett.

Etablissement très agréable et très bien placé à 15 minutes à pied du parc ; chambre très propre et bien équipée ; bon petit déjeuner et possibilité de manger sur place. A recommander

Une très très jolie guesthouse décorée d'une multitude de fleurs. Pas très loin du sanctuaire des oiseaux. Personnel aux petits soins, literie confortable et prix doux. Que demander de plus ? En dehors de la réserve qui est une merveille, je conseille d'aller jeter un coup d'œil à la ville et notamment au fort et aux rues pleines d'activités qui l'entourent.

El alojamiento estaba muy bien decorado, el anfitrion se preocupaba por ponerlo bonito (muchas flores, macetas, vistas en la terraza muy bonitas...). La habitacion muy completa y acondicionada, todo limpio y espacioso. El anfitrion nos dejo darnos una ducha despues del check out tras venir del parque nacional, lo valoramos positivamente, ya que estaba dispuesto a ayudarnos incluso habiendo hecho ya el check out

He’s also a talented and well-known photographer, which adds a wonderful creative energy to the space. The guest house itself feels safe, warm, and inviting, with all the comforts of home. The rooftop garden is a dream—lush, peaceful, and the perfect place to watch the sunset as birds fly overhead. The food is excellent, and the sense of community makes it hard to leave. I made friendships here that will stay with me for a long time. I stayed for 12 days and loved every moment. I’ll be returning in January without question. If you’re looking for a place that offers comfort, heart, and a true Bharatpur experience, this is the place for you.

Guest house has pleasant environment , very nice decorations. The guest house is very well maintained. It just felt like Home...Food is customizable (spicy ,less spicy). Meals were delicious. Even if we talk about rooms- very well thought and made by putting themselves in travellers shoes...in short just perfect. Devendra ji himself is a great photographer, bird watcher and extremely knowledgeable person. I highly recommend Iora guest house.

Devendra has created a true oasis of peace and greenery at Iora Guesthouse. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and he is an incredibly kind and helpful host who goes out of his way to make you feel at home. The food is excellent — freshly prepared and full of flavor. The location couldn’t be better, just a short walk from the entrance of Keoladeo National Park.

Convenient for local shops, restaurants and the Bird Sanctuary. Food was available throughout the day. The quality of food was excellent. The area was quiet enabling a good nights sleep.

From the moment we booked there was excellent communication from the guest house. The place was easy to find and looked exactly like the photos. The rooms were clean, comfortable and AC worked well. The shower was the best I have had in a hotel! Whilst we were staying Devendra was on hand to provide advice and suggestions. He organised a car to take us to Agra, bikes to go round the National Park and money exchange. We ate breakfast and dinner here a couple of times too. All the food we had was top notch. I would definitely recommend staying here to any one.

Such a minor thing - a kettle is provided but no tea bags. This didn’t matter to us, but it might to others.

Der Gastgeber Devendra ist ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit und ein ausgewiesener Naturliebhaber und Fotograf. Er hat uns an einem Morgen eigens zu einem Brutplatz gefahren, der außerhalb des eigentlichen Naturparks liegt. Wir durften auch Zeugen werden, wie Nachbarn ein Vogelküken bei ihm abgegeben haben, welches er dann in einem nahegelegenen Tümpel mit seiner mutmaßlichen Vogelmutter wiedervereinigte. Die Unterkunft ist in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße gelegen und nur eine kurze Fahrt mit dem Tuk-Tuk oder Leihfahrrad vom Eingang zum Vogelpark entfernt. Das Frühstück und Abendessen waren immer lecker und die Dachterrasse bietet gerade abends einen schönen Rundblick.

The staff was very nice and helpful! The room was very large and well appointed. The property is bright and cheerful with potted plants and flowers. Our trip was for birdwatching at Bharatpur / Keoladeo NP. The location was perfect!

Location - The property is well maintained & clean. It is located in a residential area so don't expect any large open spaces or green views.. The property photos are a bit exaggerated. The location on Google Maps is incorrect as the approach road is through a small alley. Room - The rooms & linen were basic but clean. The AC in the room was working fine. There was water supply disruption in the morning for 2 hours which was unexpected & caused inconvenience. Room didn't have sufficient protection from mosquitoes. Wifi - We were not informed whether the property has a wifi or not. Parking - Parking is free but space isn't sufficient. Please check with the property manager before you arrive. Food - Breakfast was good with numerous options. Since everything is prepared in house, one needs to place an orde an hour in advance. However the prices of food are at par with the nearby restaurants which should not be the case. Check in experience & staff - Check in & check out was smooth. Payments could be done through multiple modes. The person at the reception was not welcoming, probably they prefer having only foreigner guests. Value for money - Stay at Iora was not value for money. There are numerous hotels in Bharatpur providing rooms at same rates which are not listed online & could be contacted directly for stays.

The guest house is conveniently located near the bird sanctuary. Care taker Devendra ji is really helpful and is knowledgeable about the birds too. The food was also good. I really enjoyed my stay.

The rooms are clean and big, comfy bed. Clesn bathroom with warm water and even showercurtains. Staff is nice, food is good and it is not a long walk to the "city centre".

No complaints outside the schoolchildren making noise. But, it's India, there is noise everywhere.
