The name wasn't on the hotel. Had to go to Ownies to get the key. But not a problem.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2026The breakfast was excellent, the only slight niggle was that service does not start until 9am. We had to be at Larne Harbour for a ferry by 10am which we made by 1 minute.
Perhaps start the breakfast service for guests at 8am.

Reviewed Sep 8, 2026Lovely. Interesting bold decor. Quality bed and bedding. Plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Air conditioning a huge bonus. 'Ownies' bar and restuarant next door with fantastic menu was the best place in town to eat. Family rooms available. Choice of cooked breakfast.
Nicely styled ensuite shower room. However it was tired and could do with a refresh of grouting, sealants etc. Towels, whilst clean, where a bit dingy. Sorry. Otherwise a lovely, comfortable stay.

Reviewed Aug 30, 2026Prima hotel, mooie ruime kamer met airco. Bar, restaurant en ontbijt bij de buren. Half uur rijden van het vliegveld om van daaruit een start te kunnen maken voor de Causeway Coastal Route. In Carrickfergus zelf niet veel met uitzondering van het kasteel.

Reviewed Aug 29, 2026Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were excellent in quantity and quality of cooking. Rooms were an excellent size and very pleasant to be in. They weren’t soulless boxes at all.
There was sometimes the noise of bottles being put into the recycling bin, especially in the room next to the beer garden.

We paid for breakfast but we're only told on arrival that it would only be available from 9am - too late for us as we needed to leave at 8.30am in order to catch a ferry. No alternative was offered.

The reason that l have given a lower score overall is because the included breakfast did not start until 9.00. As l was trying to make the most of my time on a few days break touring the area l had to skip breakfast which made it a less attractive price for me. I just think it would be useful to advertise the breakfast timings within the description, in order to make an informed decision before booking. This has always been the case on all previous bookings

Reviewed May 19, 2026The room (Onyx) was very well presented and cosy. The staff were very helpful and friendly and Onies bar next door was a great place to eat and drink. It was also where B&B guests checked in and out. The location of the B&B was perfect and a short walk to many places to shop and visit. I would definitely stay here again.

Very noisy, was like being next to a football ground with singing and chanting from bar next door till late! Tv remote didn’t work at all even after battery change! We had an early ferry to catch and discovered on check in that breakfast didn’t start till 9!!!!! So no breakfast! All in all lovely room but ended up wishing we’d booked premier inn just for the night.

Además, cenamos en el restaurante y la comida estaba buenísima. Otro detalle muy bueno por si parte fue que debíamos marchar antes de la hora del desayuno y nos lo prepararon para llevar. Un 10!

Reviewed Mar 21, 2026Hübsch dekrorierte und renovierte Zimmer. Frühstück war im Preis mit drinnen und wird in Ownies Bar nebenan serviert. Übrigens ein toller Pub mit super Restaurant. Kostenfreie Parkplätze an der Straße und man kann alle Sehenswürdigkeiten bequem zu Fuß erkunden.

L'ingresso alle camere è accanto all'ingresso del tipico pub irlandese, locale molto vivace e frequentato dove viene servita la colazione ed è possibile cenare con piatti locali. The room is next door to a pub. We were originally in a front room with a sea view however this was noisy - music noise and people exiting late at night. Not ideal if you’re a light sleeper. Asked to get moved to a room at the back of the building a staff arranged this. That room was excellent and very quiet.
