Nice position for walking Useful to be able use the kitchen

Lack of fire safety; fire door closures have all been disabled and a notice on each door says "fire door please do not close" The front door has no lock.

The location, not in the heart of all the tourists, but off more in the “quiet country”

The beds weren’t the most comfortable. After traveling through germany and Lucerne, I had anticipated doing laundry here. I was warned about clothes getting locked jn the machine if the cycle was over an hour. I set it for 30 mins to make sure that wouldn’t happen to me, but my clothes still got locked in the washing machine. I called the owner and he was very kind. He sent someone on site to help. The man wanted me to put more money in the machine but I explained to him that I only retrieved enough Swiss francs for exactly what I needed for the machine. He obliged and put money in himself. The clothes took quite a while to wash and did not seem clean. And my clothes did not dry either. So I wouldn’t rely on doing laundry here. There’s not really any privacy because the walls and everything is thin-you hear everyone and every thing. But the facility itself was nice-modern/updated bathroom, there’s an area to eat/play games, a kitchen to cook with all the necessary cooking supplies.

It's basically a hostel with individual rooms. Most rooms share bathrooms and showers which I wasn't aware of. They are renovating. Old rooms had walls so the I could hear everything next door.The renovated rooms are a big improvement. Only the hearty stay in the winter. (No heat in the rooms..just hallway heaters) Shower early. They run out of hot water. I won't stay there again..but for the young adventurous hikers it's perfect.

Beautiful location, bed was comfortable and linen was warm. Everything was clean. Staff were nice.

The advertising is a little disingenuous, from what I read when I booked I thought I was booking a room with a private bathroom. The advertising makes it sound like every room has its own private bathroom and it was only after arriving and rereading it very carefully that I realised this wasn’t the case. Future guests should keep in mind this is more of a hostel than a hotel. However, the shared facilities were very clean.

Amazing location, great facilities at the overall building level, one staff member who was a young girl was very helpful in explaining some info about the area, where to find hiking brochures, etc., and was polite

Contacting the property is a pain. On calling some guy picks up the phone who isn’t the most polite person to speak to. Our room didn’t have liquid soap in the dispenser near the sink so i called that person requesting it to be filled. Then i messaged on booking app as well. No response till late evening so i had to remind a second time. This in itself isn’t a huge deal for me, but then some lady came up to our room with the liquid soap, pointed to an unlabelled bottle in the bathroom and told us bluntly, you already had soap in that bottle and could’ve filled it. Seriously? While you’re at it, why not ask guests to do the whole housekeeping themselves then? What’s the 5 hour duration between check out and next check in for? I would’ve rated it lower had it not been for that one single, helpful staff member

Oczywiście Nieziemskie widoki , miła atmosfera , personel a w szczególności Boguś z Eweliną Najlepsi i najbardziej pomocni ludzie i z tego co zauważyliśmy to nie tylko dla nas ale również dla każdego gościa hotelu . Wielki plus za odnowione pokoje wraz z łazienkami . Widać Fachowa robota . Także nie ma się do czego doczepić tylko Polecić na 1000 %

Nie ma takich rzeczy a jak ktoś pisze inaczej to znaczy że poprostu kłamie 🤥 😉

Very helpful staff, everything was as described in the photos, family friendly. Very clean, especially the part where guest should separate their shoes into outdoor and indoor, which helps the facility stay clean : )

Je n'ai pas apprécié le fait que je devais avoir une chambre avec salle de bains et qu'il a fallu se doucher dans les salles de bains communes. Si j'avais su je n'aurais pas choisi cet hôtel. Personnel quoisi inexistant, il fallait marcher pieds nu dans l'hôtel alors que c'était salle.

Emplacement magnifique dans la vallée et idéal, assez loin des grands centres touristiques pour que ce soit calme et assez proche pour que le transport en voiture se fasse très bien! Très propre!

Les lits étaient pas très confortables, on sentait bien les lattes sous le matelas.

Pokoj byl velmi malý za tu cenu, v kuchyni málo nádobí na spoustu lidí, chtělo by to 2 kohoutky, někdo umívá dlouho nádobí, tak se tam další nedostane ani pro vodu, dveře jsou hlučné, ale je to o lidech.

Ligger i perfekte omgivelser med vandreruter lige uden for døren. Bedre end Lauterbrünnen efter vores mening, da der er mere roligt og mindre turistet. Der er gode faciliteter, og det kan være hyggeligt, at man kommer de andre gæster lidt ved. Dog mere hostel stemning end hotel.

Man modtages ikke af personale, og det kan være vanskeligt at finde ud af, hvem der driver stedet og arbejder der. Der er en del lydt mellem værelserne. Vores seng var kort og klemt inde imellem to vægge. Obs hvis man er høj.

Stunning location, well equipped kitchen, nice room

The location was absolutely perfect. Away from the touristy Lauterbrunnen yet close enough for grocery shopping (by car or by bus). Hiking paths right at the doorstep, waterfalls all around. Just a warning, do not expect a luxurious hotel just because of my high rating. This is a mountain lodge and it looks exactly the same as the pics. Simple but super clean. We had a room with a private bathroom which was great. But the shared facilities were also really nice and clean. WiFi was strong enough. Kitchen equipped really well.

Everything was ok. Was a bit afraid of how the shared kitchen would work but no probs there.

Wer Berge und Ruhe abseits der Menschenmassen sucht, ist im Alpenhof in Stechelberg genau richtig. Herzliche Gastgeber, saubere und schlicht eingerichtete Zimmer sowie ein wunderschöner Bergblick machen den Aufenthalt besonders angenehm. Vielen Dank für die schöne Zeit – wir kommen gerne wieder!

The lodge is located really in the nature away from main touristic locations of the valley and the views are absolutely crazy.

I felt the room was a little stuffed and I couldn't keep the window for fresh air, the only solution was to fully open the window but then it opened right in the bed.

Property location, nice restaurant close by, staff was helpful and nice. Seeing waterfalls from bedroom windows was great

Our visit was during excessive Heat index and we wished for ceiling fan to move air in the room.

Un motel à moitié en travaux sans réception ni personnel et des chambres minuscules. Ne pas se fier aux photos, car en réalité la largeur de la chambre fait la longueur du lit et impossible de se lever sans enjamber son partenaire. Les duvets et les oreillers en synthétique vous feront assurément transpirer abondamment. Et vous devrez descendre de deux étages pour aller aux toilettes. Il y a bien aussi un évier dans la chambre, bien que peu pratique pour la grosse commission ! En bref, pour le prix, il y a de meilleures options dans la région et incluant un petit déjeuner ainsi qu'un sommeil réparateur !

Environment

The views around the accommodation are amazing. Surrounded by mountains and a charming little village with a stream flowing through it. The mornings are perfect for jogging. There's a dining table in front of the house and a barbecue grill. The kitchen is fully equipped. It's a shame we only stayed one night.

The bathroom was in excellent working condition. Beds comfortable. The location is excellent due to being near to the Schilthorn station which made visiting Murren, Birg etc. very convenient. The area itself is lovely.

Pillows are kind of flat but I think that may be just how they are in Switzerland...? The space/room was small but still good value. It was a struggle to use the washer and dryer as for some reason it was difficult to get 1 franc coins. Also, I was not sure exactly how to use the machines themselves. We were only given one roll of toilet paper for 5 persons for several nights. Could not find actual staff to speak with for help with these items. 2 small hooks for towels for 5 persons. Great lights by the beds appreciated that each could switch individually but the lighting by the storage section was poor.

Disappointing stay. The room did not match the description. It was smaller than in the photos and missing basic things we expected, like a table. There was no heating, so it was cold at night. The walls are very thin — you can hear neighbors clearly, and even see light through the gaps. The hotel is under renovation, with constant noise that was not mentioned in advance. Overall, not worth it.

I managed to get a room with a private bathroom.

In March 2026 the location is a building site, with exposed wires & cables everywhere; one room a carpentry shop with a circular saw and other tools; the yard littered with old appliances. Reeks of exposed sealant around doors. This "lodge" is actually a hostel and should be marketed as such. This means the level of comfort is suitable for a backpacker on a budget: very loud (thin walls), small rooms, shared baths, communal kitchen (description of place made it sound there would be facilities like a coffeemaker in the room).

L'emplacement est vraiment top, de là nous avons pu emprunter les transports publics gratuitement dans la région. La chambre avec douche et wc venait d'être refaite et était toute neuve. Une chambre avec deux double-lits superposés et un canapé-lit peut accueillir 5 personnes mais l'idéal c'est en couple. Vue sur les montagnes magnifique ! La maison et les chambres sont en rénovation complète, nous y avons logé lors des rénovations mais les propriétaires ne faisaient aucun travaux lors de notre présence. Une grande pièce commune chauffée par un poêle à bois permet de se tirer un café et soit de se reposer soit de jouer ou même travailler... Je recommande cet endroit tout proche du départ de télécabine pour le Schilthorn Piz Gloria et toutes les randonnées alentours. Les propriétaires sont aux petits soins et très sympathiques.

Les améliorations sont en cours et les propriétaires travaillent d'arrache-pied pour les réaliser au plus vite.

Absolutely gorgeous location, breathtaking views, so quiet and peaceful. We had a walk out balcony. Place was right by a very good restaurant with an outdoor patio and walking distance to the bus stop. The bus stop allowed us to jump to Lauterbrunnen each day very easily. There was also a water fountain right outside to get fresh water each day. To save some money, would highly recommend taking the bus to the grocery store (the last bus stop) called “Coop” to pick up your snacks and any supplies for you stay. I was worried about the wifi being bad in the mountains but it was completely fine.

The walls were thin so my only complaint was that we had noisy neighbors. The bed wasn’t very comfortable and pillow was thin but regardless I enjoyed my stay.

Wir kennen das B&B noch von früheren Aufenthalten, als das Haus noch von einer Familie geführt wurde, die in dem Haus auch gewohnt hat. Heute fehlt etwas die 'Wärme' und das Gefühl, dass sich dort jemand um alles kümmert.

It was absolutely the worst mattress I have ever slept on or even sat on. The mattress must have been 30 years old and very uncomfortable with old metal springs pressing against your body. When paying such a price for a room I expect a minimum standard sleeping bed and this was absolutely unacceptable. The hotel was as expected, but the beds were horrible. I will not return until after renovations -

The location of the place is unreal. The workers are very nice and accommodating and the place feels very homey. The lodge is also very quiet and peaceful. There is a communal kitchen with all necessary appliances and even some items for free use and sharing within the lodge. Shout out to Mike for letting me fix a last minute reservation mistake!
