Echt een prachtig hotel, heerlijk zwembad en eigen stukje aan de zee. Vriendelijke eigenaar en personeel! Lekker eten. Zeker een aanrader!!

- Rustige sfeer in het verblijf, kleinschalig - Veel ruimte buiten, zowel ontspannen aan de zee als bij het zwembad

- Je moest van tevoren doorgeven wat je wilde gaan lunchen/dineren, dat kon niet ter plekke - Je hoorde de trein naast het huis erg goed

Super mooie locatie direct aan zee. Via eigen binnentuinen loop je zo het strand op. Accommodatie is kleinschalig, zeer netjes en schoon. Ook de tuinen zijn zeer goed onderhouden. Heerlijk zwembad. Super vriendelijk personeel en hoog serviceniveau. Uitstekend ontbijt. Zit wel direct naast spoor waardoor je trein soms wel wat hoort. Wij zaten in laagseizoen. Alle restaurants zijn makkelijk bereikbaar met tuk tuk.

An outstanding, beautiful accomodation right on the beach with everything you need. Our host was very welcoming even though booking didn't send a notification and we arrived unannounced in the evening. The rooms are very clean, very spacious and smell very good. The AC was working very well and the garden, pool, beach are very well maintained and cared for! We could check out later that was very helpful, the breakfast was very tasty! We had a short but wonderful stay, I would definitely recommend!

The staff and manager are awesome. The bed is insane! The location is good. Close to the beach and additionally a cool pool. The breakfast is great, especially the Sambal and homemade jam!!! Good and very spacious room with very good shower.

There are not many restaurants around if you like to go out. The Wifi reception was not good but the mobile reception was good. It is expensive for Sri Lanka but worth the money!

Habitación cómoda con buen desayuno a pie de playa (tiene un atardecer maravilloso) en zona poco turística. Fue nuestra primera noche y definitivamente una muy buena toma de contacto! Anfitrión muy simpático, pudimos aparcar nuestro vehículo dentro de la finca sin problemas.

Unser Aufenthalt in der Thosuwawa Beach Villa war einfach traumhaft! Die Lage direkt am Strand ist unschlagbar – man wacht mit dem Rauschen der Wellen auf und genießt atemberaubende Sonnenuntergänge. Die Villa selbst ist wunderschön gepflegt, sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die Ruhe und Privatsphäre – perfekt zum Entspannen und Abschalten. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich, hilfsbereit und hat jeden Wunsch erfüllt, sodass wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt haben. Auch das Essen war hervorragend – frisch, lecker und mit viel Liebe zubereitet. Man merkt sofort, dass hier großer Wert auf Qualität gelegt wird. Wir können die Thosuwawa Beach Villa jedem empfehlen, der einen entspannten, luxuriösen und authentischen Aufenthalt am Meer sucht. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

The beautiful setting, with stunning gardens, closeness to the beach meant being able to hear the waves at night. The pool was perfect for a refreshing dip. The food was excellent. Very tasty and amazing value for money. The room was big with a spacious bathroom. The toiletry products were so good I did not use the ones I brought from home. The 4 key staff members work well together and maintain a high standard.

I cannot think of anything I would improve.

Oase van rust. Wat een heerlijke plek om de drukte te ontvluchten. Zwembad was top en een mooie standtuin, waar je heerlijk in kunt ontspannen. Tijdens het eten op het terras hoor je de golven op de achtergrond.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Everything was so calm, comfortable, and relaxing from the very beginning. Manager Sandgi and his team were very kind and caring. They really paid attention to every small detail and made sure we felt welcome all the time. The food was amazing — the local chef cooked very delicious meals every day. We truly enjoyed every dish. The massage was also fantastic, one of the best we’ve had. It made our stay even more special. Overall, the atmosphere was very cozy and warm. And the sunsets… no more words just look at the photos! We felt at home and would love to come back again. Highly recommended!

The only thing g is railway station and trains noise. But if you close the bathroom door for the night is ok

Lovingly furnished, clean accommodation in a family atmosphere with hospitable landlords, very good sanitary standards and air conditioning, cozy terrace with ocean view, well-maintained swimming pool, direct access to Indian Ocean beach, very good and plentiful breakfast with fruit and local side dishes, option for dinner with excellent Sri Lankan cuisine which we thoroughly enjoyed. Nice room, nice personal, nice place... The hotel has only 4rooms, so it was really quiet place with privacy.

Nach einer 3wöchigen Sri Lanka Rundreise haben wir uns für dieses Kleinod entschieden, um noch eine Woche zu relaxen. Und unsere Entscheidung haben wir nicht bereut. Unterbringung, Essen und Service waren einfach außergewöhnlich toll. Die gesamte Anlage ist wunderschön und immer sauber. Wir haben uns sofort wie Zuhause gefühlt. Unser besonderer Dank geht an Sanjee mit dem gesamten Thoduwawa Beach Villa Team. Ein großer Dank auch an Susanne und Ueli. Wenn es uns wieder nach Sri Lanka verschlägt, werden wir auf jeden Fall wieder hier vorbeikommen.

Tout le cadre, un vrai havre de paix, la plage très agréable, la piscine également. La propreté , la gentillesse du personnel. J ai été un peu malade durant mon séjour, ils m ont même propose un traitement aux plantes qui m a bien aide !

Excellent location by the beach, with a lovely garden. The staff was amazing and very helpful in every way. Made us nice meals and helped us in every way possible. The bed was large, a bit on the hard side, but that was fine with us. Can really recommend Thoduwawa beach villa!

Personalen som mötte mig en otrolig omtanke, serviceanda och glädje. Med 4 rum blir det en närmare känsla på både Personal och övriga gäster. Man hörde liksom till. Rent städat, välansad trädgård God mat som lagades ala carte till varje gäst. Lugnt läge om än eller kanske Tack vare att det ligger lite bakom. Stranden var fin och stor . Allt ger en skön känsla av stilla ro o avkoppling, återhämtning. (Finns ingen tv) Tack till Sanjee och resten av gänget ni kommer att finnas i mitt minne länge

Great location next to the small train station and the beach. Spacious rooms. Lovely staff. Great lunch and decent breakfast. Good size pool and lovely chill out area near the beach.

Some people may not like the train noise but it didn’t bother us.

Fabulous relaxing stay in a stylish house and pool by a dream beach .

The pillows . Some linen covered pillows rather than cushions would be a huge improvement. Otherwise the bed was very comfortable.

Tout était parfait. La guest house est juste à côté de la gare. Elle a un accès direct à la plage. La piscine était très prope. Des chaises longues sont dispersées dans un jardin bien entretenu ainsi qu'autour de la piscine. Possibilité de prendre les repas sur la grande terrasse. Gentillesse des hôtes Suzanne, Ueli , Sandy et toute l'équipe. Ils sont toujours serviables. Nous recommandons à 100%

Einfach alles! Ein kleines Paradies mit liebenswerten Menschen, welche uns jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen haben. Das Essen ist abwechslungsreich und sehr, sehr lecker. Danke an den Koch. Das Frühstück mit selbst gebackenem Brot und selbstgemachter Marmelade, ein Träumchen. Jeder einzelne Mitarbeiter verdient ein großes Lob! Danke für die schöne Zeit bei Euch.

Es gibt nichts zu bemängeln, weil es perfekt war.

Die Lage am Strand ist top. Das Personal absolut zuvorzukommed und hilfsbereit. Es ist total sauber und sehr gepflegt. Sowohl das Frühstück als auch das Abendessen waren sehr lecker. Absolut toll zum relaxen.

Nicht nah zum Ortskern, aber das war uns ja bei der Buchung bekannt. Mit einem Tuktuk kommt man aber gut hin.

So clean and spacious with a gorgeous garden and small private beach. Fantastic welcome on arrival. We ate the evening meal and the food was really good. King prawns and squid. Air con not needed due to sea breeze. Pool was well maintained, and everything was clean.

Food prices in dollars, not sure why?

I started my Sri Lanka trip from this place and immediately felt welcomed in the country thanks to the wonderful host. It was a pleasure to talk and learn about the story behind this hotel. A lovely small guesthouse right by the beach — and what a beautiful beach it is! I still remember the homemade jam at breakfast — such a nice touch.

Everything about the villa was truly remarkable. The premises and rooms were very clean. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful

Schönes kleines Hotel mit 4 Zimmer. Die Zimmer sind groß mit Ablagemöglichkeiten und Kühlschrank. Das Bad ist ebenfalls geräumig. Es gibt zusätzlich kostenlose Strandtücher. Sehr freundliches Personal. Gutes Frühstück und am Abend Essen als Menü oder a la carte - sehr gut. Restaurant in der Nähe ist nicht zu empfehlen.

Am öffentlichen Strand liegt Plastik rum, da kann das Hotel aber nichts dafür. Hotel liegt unmittelbar an den Bahngleisen somit gibt es ab und zu Zuggeräusche.

Is was my second stay with my partner. Excellent place. Very clean room and bathroom. The sea view was amazing. Delicious breakfast and drinks. Kind staff and good communication.

The staff, the cleanliness, the food and the facilites. Thank you for making us feel so welcome. The staff take a lot of pride in their work and the hotel was immaculate.

There is nothing we didn’t like however there is not a lot within walking distance. The property does do amazing food though so you may not even have to leave. We had our own transport so it was very easy for us and we were able to lock our tuk tuk up overnight. The beach directly in front of the villa had been cleaned well but the beach elsewhere around the property wasn’t that great.

Wir waren das dritte Mal hier und es war wie immer einfach nur wunderbar! Alle Mitarbeiter sind unglaublich herzlich und aufmerksam, das Essen ist großartig und wir habe und einfach nur wohl gefühlt. We came from the other side of the world! We were delighted with our stay! The atmosphere is very pleasant, the staff and owner are smiling, friendly, and very helpful. They take great care of their guests, it's very clean, and the meals were delicious! The location is also great – close to the beach, a pool, and a garden in a quiet neighborhood! You can easily book a tuk-tuk to get to larger cities. We are very pleased and will visit Thoduwawa Beach Villa again when we visit Sri Lanka. Greetings to our guests from Poland!🎉

A beautiful and very peaceful spot right by the sea. There are few rooms meaning it never feels crowded. The staff are so helpful and kind, and the food is really good. Can't recommend this place enough!

This villa is amazing. It’s right on the beach where it’s good to swim but also the pool is fabulous too. The staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. I had dinner there every night because it was so good. The rooms are beautiful and spacious with lots of little personal touches. Apart from the train station right next door ( you quickly get used to it and after the first day I barely noticed it) it’s a lovely quiet place to relax and take it easy.

Beautiful and unexpected oasis. Rooms / bathroom were amazing. Food was absolutely delicious…. I think The best we had during our trip. Location was great, right by the beach and a pool. Staff were lovely. We wished we had discovered it on our first night not our last. Will definitely revisit if we return to Sri Lanka.

The only downside and the reason it’s a 9/10 and not 10 is the train which you can hear but for us was not a big issue.

Plus: - will meet and conduct at any time of the day or night, as well as help with the transfer to the hotel from the airport and to other places - operational communication on WA - the rooms are clean, cleaning every day (there is no need to ask to clean the room, unlike other hotels) - there are few animals in the hotel and in the room, there were only geckoes - good and tasty breakfasts. There is a small menu of dishes for dinner. - In fact, the first line (the hotel has 2 plots separated by a narrow road), you can safely swim on your own lounger without worrying about the left things. You will most likely be alone in the ocean, the place is not crowded. - The whole territory is clean and pleasant, the pool is also clean. - Pleasant price - Sanja and your team are doing a very good job!

I loved this small personal hotel. It has 4 bedrooms and it was just perfect. A cute pool that was big enough to keep cool, but you could also swim even if not an Olympic size..The staff are so friendly and if you wish will address you by name. I loved the fresh baked fruit bread at breakfast, my personal choice of a yummy option. Made by Susan in house. The beach is right outside the second area of the property. Local to other places to visit and eat if you are out for the day. It's such a lovely place to stay, I will be returning on my next visit.

Mr Assa, Mr Sanjee and all the amazing staff - wow - they are perhaps the most perfect group of staff I've ever seen in my travels over the last 40 years. I was so impressed with them that I actually left tips to the value of 4 times the room cost - i believe that says it all. They were so welcoming, helpful and understanding - and the owners should be proud of this - i believe they are Swiss and they have really created the most special and perfect unique space. Only 4 bedrooms with an amazing ambience and design - i could not fault anything absolute perfection - and it will be my preference when visiting Sri Lanka again

That is a difficult question - because how can you improve upon perfection? The area is still undeveloped - which i liked - but some tourists may want more choice of restaurants and bars - of which there are very few

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. Would 100% recommend for a relaxing and quiet vacation. It is really clean, well maintained. All the staff is doing an excellent job, wonderful service! Food was good and affordable.

Unfortunately the beach in the area is not really clean, a lot of garbages… (public beach so not under the Villa’s responsibility) but it didn’t affect us much since we enjoyed more spending time at the property’s pool.

Fantastic. Perfect location: behind the railway station and next to the beach. At the same time, very peaceful and far from noises. Beautiful villa with well-maintained swimming pool and perfectly cleaned rooms. Nothing is missing inside the apartments, both in the bedroom and bathroom, which have everything you need and are presented in a lovely way. Yes air conditioned. Yes hair dryer. Breakfast included: fresh juice, possibility to have coffee and eat both salty/sweet food. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly, smiling and happy to help for whatever necessity. I strongly recommend Thoduwawa Beach Villa!

The setting is tranquil, the property impeccably maintained, the team led by Sanjaya is always on hand to fulfil all guests requests and offer local knowledge when needed. Overall we had the most amazing 2 days stay there. This is an undiscovered gem and we intend to return. We hope it will retain all its charm, ambience and staff service mentality for when we come back. We wish Sanjay’s and his team all success in their future.

Beach will be cleaned by the lovely staff but it is so hard to keep it clean...

Sanjee and his staff went above and beyond to make the stay as special as possible. They welcomed us with amazing food, showed us their local area and were endlessly helpful and friendly. Beautiful gardens and pool to relax in the sun.

This is without a doubt a pure 10. The best accommodation in Sri Lanka for the whole 14 days. Absolutely nothing to complain...

Where should I start.. this place was just amazing! Very warm, welcoming hosts and staff. Beautiful big, clean rooms with great bathrooms. They thought of everything: Conditioner, Blow drier, Mosquito net, Coffee, Tea, Water, Cups, Fridge. Really great! The pool has a sunsail over it so you can stay in the pool without getting a sunburn. :) The full body massage was simply amazing too - just next to the ocean with the nice sound of the waves. It said it would be 40min, but it was longer than an hour. They made it possible to get the massage last minute. We could recommend this place to everyone 100%. Thanks a lot for the great stay! ☺️

Fabulous place, clean, well run. Attention to detail is great. Lovely pool area, with beach towels plus, a relaxation area across an access path which opens onto the beach. Great breakfast, dinner was superb and prices very reasonable. Highly recommend.

The villa is really off the beaten track (although close to the station), not a problem for us but something to bear in mind.

Close to the rail line and some train driver do use their horn in the night but this was not a problem to us. It’s all part of being in Sri Lanka.

Me and the wife found this place for a last minute booking and only stayed for a short while but we were so glad we found it as we will definately be back. The personal service and attention to detail provided by Sanjee was second to non, nothing was too much trouble. The location was perfect right next to the beach which was very quiet and peaceful, not your usual tourist trap. The villa its self is beautiful and the gardens really make it a tropical paradise. I really cant speak highly enough of the place and we cant wait to come back.

I liked everything, it's a very cosy and nice place. This villa is made with love of its owners! It's a combination of European practicality and local flavour. Everything is thought out to the last detail. There is everything you need during your staying here. It has only 4 rooms. You feel like you stay at home. Nice and cosy room, bathroom.One thing you should know there is no TV in the room so it helps to escape from everyday problems and news and to relax. Very kind and friedly personnel and the owners make everything you feel good. As for meal you get a good breakfast, the best thing is homemade (Sandjee's wife) marmalade! It's delicious. Lunch and dinner are a la carte. Prices are very good. Every dish is tasty) Pumpkin soup, grilled fish, seafood rice...The cook is the best. A lot of thanks to him. There's a massage room, you can order wherever you need. Good location, the private part of the beach is about 2-3 meters from the ocean so you don't need to be worry about your things. Moreover, the villa is located near the railway station so you can get easy  to Colombo or to Galle.Besides, there are bus stop nearby to go to Bentota, Galle and other cities. The important thing is the villa is located a bit far from popular tourist places so if you wanna to relax in a calm and cosy place you should choose Thoduwawa Beach Villa.
